The fennel sausage red pizza and peppers white pizza were both really good. This was more than enough for 3 people in addition to the meatball appetizer with bread. We found that the slices were huge and very filling, so we actually each had 2 slices there and 2 slices to take home for leftovers by the end. I would definitely come back. I really want to try the bread with butter as the bread was really good. Very disappointing experience from start to finish. When we arrived, the hostess told us we were second in line for a table. When I later checked Yelp, I found that we were actually listed as 15th in line. I understand that wait times can change, but giving customers inaccurate information about their place in line is frustrating, especially when they're deciding whether to wait. The food service was even more disappointing. We were told the pizza would take about 20 minutes, but we ended up waiting roughly 40 minutes. When I brought up the wait, the waitress corrected me and insisted it had only been 30 minutes. Whether it was 30 or 40 minutes, that still wasn't the 20-minute estimate we were given. I would have much rather heard a simple, "I'm sorry, the kitchen is running behind," than have my experience argued with. Mistakes and delays happen at restaurants--I completely understand that. Unfortunately, we had a pretty disappointing experience at Folks. Despite having a reservation, we waited about 15 minutes for our table and were actually offered an uncovered high-top outside while it was raining. The drink situation was especially frustrating. I wanted a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, but our server warned us that their wines are natural wines and may not taste as expected. I appreciated her offering samples, but I tried three whites--including their only Sauvignon Blanc--and found all of them bland and unappealing. Between the samples and long waits in between, it took about 45 minutes before I finally gave up on wine and ordered a Paloma, which was just okay. When I mentioned how long everything was taking, our server laughed and gave an explanation about how they "work as a team," which felt dismissive rather than apologetic. The pizza was average. We also specifically asked for our Caesar salad with dressing on the side (or very lightly dressed), but it arrived drenched, with dressing pooling at the bottom of the plate. It was a shame because the little gem lettuce itself was very fresh and crisp. My husband and I went here on a Sunday afternoon and really enjoyed it. The place was busy but we made a reservation a few hours before just because there was a time available and we figured better safe than sorry! Our server was great and the food was delicious! We only got the chicken wings and the fennel sausage pizza. I had two glasses of the chilled red wine and it was really good too - I think it was called Es Okay My husband said the chicken wings were good but very heavy on the sauce (I didn't have any so I can't say). I want to start off by saying that we waited three hours to be seated. To no fault of Folks Pizzeria our party size just kept changing BUT alas we got to be seated and MAN OH MAN. The food here was pretty good, not the greatest. We had the pepperoni pizza which was okay, and the appetizer wings which were better. The pizza was quite oily which really isn't what we like, you may like your pizza oily and that's okay. The wings though were better. We asked the waitress how they are before ordering and she said they're great, and she wasn't lying, she even recommended squeezing the lemon over the wings per whar the chef replayed. When we went it was quite hot inside so we were sweating a little, the AC needs to be on or some fans moving some air around at least. While Folks had good pizza, it is definitely not worth the wait! Time stamps: put ourselves on the waitlist at 6:22 PM for a group of 3 -37th in line, hovered between 4th-1st place from 8-8:30 PM, got seated by 8:30 PM, ordered by 8:35 PM, pizza got to the table after 9:00 PM, finished eating 9:20-9:30 PM. Our original estimated wait was to be seated 7:23-7:53 which was largely very wrong, beware! Even if you join the waitlist earlier, definitely be prepared to wait longer if you're larger than a party of 2. Pay attention to your phone as you get up on the list as they also send a text saying to respond within a few minutes otherwise you will be removed from the waitlist. They close by 9 PM so it does feel a little silly to have been on the list since 6:20 PM to get pizza after 9 PM. Didn't try any of the cocktail drinks but the inside is def very cute, vibey, loud with baseball and football playing on the screens. Caesar salad had a nice touch with the anchovies. Our favorite pizza was the Jimmy Nardello pizza which had a good balance between sweet and salty. You can tell that the dough is good and pizza is very fresh, but it wasn't anything amazing. They do warn you it takes about 20-25 minutes for the pizza to come out, but the pacing of service and food coming out still feels very slow despite being open for a few months now. I recently visited on Thursday around 5:30pm and there were plenty of tables open, which quickly started to fill up as dinner started to pick up. I really loved how modern yet cozy the restaurant felt. Hadn't been to the OG location so when it hit my radar this place opened up in Culver City, not even two days later, I was sitting at the bar with a friend, catching up and enjoying some great food and drinks. For starters, it's in the Helms Design District so if you can find parking, it's free in the lot in and around the shops. I was lucky and found a spot so I can't comment on the street parking. Just check the signs or call and ask. Walked up with a reservation. Even on a weekday, I'd recommend it. Seating indoors, outdoors and at the bar. A few empty spots when I arrived. Jam packed when I left. Arrived just before dinner time. Sat at the bar. Service was great even with how busy it was. the two behind the bar (forgot their names) were nice and friendly. Paying attention to the task at hand or the customer they were engaged with. Not just listening while doing other things. Acknowledging others but still making sure they were paying attention to you. I appreciate that level of service. And the food. The food was great. See pics. Huge portions. I couldn't and didn't finish the salad. My friend took home half the pizza. devoured the fries though. Loved how modern and casual this spot was. Very cute and aesthetic. Great for big parties but also intimate dates or dinner with friends. Great prices as well. The four of us split a 14" inch pizza (6 slices total), 4 meatballs total, Cesar salad, and the bread and butter and it was around $80 and we were stuffed. We couldn't even finish the last 2 slices of pizza. Their house made ranch was 3 oz and definitely was worth the extra side of ranch cost. The service was quick and the food came out fast and hot. Wow, I am so happy we got to try this place! We arrived on a Friday evening right at 5pm and were lucky to get seated right at the bar with virtually no wait. (The line definitely piled up after!) The staff were all super helpful and friendly. I was super hungry and ordered two sides and a pizza to share- portions are super generous! We ended up having leftovers. I was able to get on the waitlist and was pleasantly surprised to find that we were sat down much earlier than the estimated time once we checked in. The waiter made sure to let us know that everything should be ordered at once and that pizzas would take around 30-35 minutes once the order was placed. Our salad came out pretty quick. It was more of a vinaigrette taste than typical caesar dressing, but was pretty good. Our pizza took a bit longer than expected but was very hot and a great portion size. Came on a Thursday evening and it was crowded !! The wait was about 40 minutes so make sure to join the yell waitlist. Meatballs came with the bread and the sauce flavor was amazing. The bread was like and airy and had a great crunch on the outside while soft on the inside. We ordered a side of butter to go with it and it seemed to be whipped, slightly tangy, and with herbs and spices inside. The butter was either hit or miss with my group. Food was delicious. Yelp waitlist moved quickly on a Sunday evening. A bit on the pricey side (2 pizzas, chicken wings and a side of ranch came to just under $100 before tip), but not skimpy on the portions. The chicken wings (amazing!) were described as spicy, but we actually found them more sweet and loved the crunch factor. The ranch ($2) was too buttermilk-y for me. Pepperoni and mushroom pizzas were both great, though I'd try the fennel sausage next time. Service was friendly but they lack experience in the small details. Took 10 minutes to have our order taken (though she did apologize for the delay), and nearly 15 minutes to get the check after asking. When our pizzas were ready, they were placed on the side of the table rather than moving our nearly-empty starter plate from the center to the side - we had to shift everything around awkwardly to center the pizzas. When I asked if we could get clean plates for the pizzas (ours were covered in chicken bones/sauce), the other server/food runner seemed baffled by this request. This is more of a casual place with sports blaring on large tv screens and kids everywhere, not a romantic date spot. We added ourselves to the Yelp waitlist on the way and it was about a 10 minute wait, we were seated right as we got to the restaurant. Starting with the positives, Folks Pizzeria is a GREAT place for apps and drinks with a bright, indoor/outdoor vibe. Our server was very attentive. The chicken wings are to die for. They are perfectly sauced and crispy, with a very subtle tanginess to them from the lemon and Italian fish sauce. Cocktail menu is fun and delicious, order the Paloma! Something is off about the pizza though (nooo!!). The blistered crust is divine, but the cheese and sauce on both the red and white pies aren't what I was expecting at this price point. Bites felt rubbery, and the cheese and toppings kept sliding off the crust. I know you can't compare apples to oranges, but I would choose Pitfire Pizza's mushroom pizza over this any day. I love the location of this beautiful, well-thought out restaurant in the old Helms Bakery center. We went via the Yelp Wait List and walked right in on a Thursday night at 6pm. Service is outstanding and very friendly and our server was so knowledgable about the natural wine list. We had a chilled red and a Chardonnay that were both wonderful. Next we had the lemon-forward Caesar Salad that was outstanding! We followed with the fried chicken wings we we had to have, and they were on every diner's table. These were some of the best wings I've ever had. The sauce (we got on the side) is a tiny bit spicy but perfect for dipping. I think the order came with about 16 party wings. We has the fennel sausage pizza and it was perfect. The crust was delicious and there was plenty of topping. For dessert, we had the amazing chocolate. chocolate chip cookie. Very good, casual pizza place with excellent crust! Had great service dining at the bar, and enjoyed the wine list too. The crust is similar to a Neapolitan style, so it's very puffy and airy. Came here on a Friday right around 6pm, and we were able to get seated fairly quickly. We did do an online check in and timed it which helped. Food was good. The arancini was crunchy on the outside and cheesy, melt in your mouth inside. We got the pepperoni and the olive pizzas, The pep was better, but both were good. My only complaint is that both pizzas had massive crusts with very little in the center with toppings. I've seen the pics of some of these pizzas and ours unfortunately did not look like that.
