This place has gone WAY downhill in quality. I just threw away almost a whole ("she's my cherry tomato") pizza. Towards the end of the first piece I got a bite that tasted like it was spiked, seriously, with a chemical or drug or something. There was this sick, bitter taste to it. I spit out the mouthful and tossed that slice then tried another slice, thinking it might be just a bad one-off bite. Nope! Same thing happened with the second slice. Even after swishing and gargling with water, I still have a bad taste in my mouth, literally and figuratively. I live 2 blocks from this restaurant and have been going there for years. My last experience wasn't so great either but I figured I'd give The Doughroom another shot, which was really stupid of me. TLDR: Worst service. They gave our food to a group that came after us so we had to wait while they made the pizza again. When it came out, probably half an hour after we first ordered, the server joked about charging us for both the pizzas. Lo and behold as we drove home we double check the receipt and dude actually charged us for the pizza they gave away along with our order. We made a quick U-turn and had to spend more time having someone else refund us the proper amount. Ridiculous. read more

It was alright. We ordered a pizza, it wasn't anything to write home about. Waitress was a little rude to us at the beginning of the meal and then started being nicer to us the closer it got to the end of the meal. We wanted to eat outside but there isn't any heaters or adequate lighting. The only lighting outside is little lamps they put on your table which wasn't enough during nighttime. The Doughroom is one of my favorite brunch spots in LA. First off, this is the best deal for bottomless mimosas on the Westside. Second, you cannot beat the service. Everytime we come here is great, so friendly and they just make our day extra special. And finally, the food is awesome! All of the brunch items are delicious, my favorites are the breakfast pizza and the hash. We came here in the evening for dinner. I was starving so I ordered a little bit of everything off the menu. We had Brussel sprouts, the wings, the bolognaise, and one pizza! All the food came out at a decent time and everything was delicious! I had some lemonade which also was pretty good. We did unfortunately not get checked on throughout our visit. I came here from a friend's birthday brunch and we had a couple waiters that were really prompt with our requests and personable when asking ordering or asking for adjustments. I got the farro salad with chicken and it was very well seasoned and tangy from the vinaigrette. I then tried the chicken and waffles and it was literally mouthwatering. Solid pizza and a great ambiance! Love coming here for dinner, brunch, and happy hour. My favorite pizzas are the Hawaiian Punch, Sausage Party, and (most of all) the Spicy Bear. Pepperoni, hot honey, and ricotta...what's not to love about that sweet and spicy combo? The only thing I've had that I didn't love was the Bird is the Word (BBQ Chicken Pizza) because I'm pretty sure it has red sauce on it? It was odd lol. They have happy hour Monday-Friday from 5-6pm, Saturday-Sunday from 3-5pm, and Monday-Saturday from 9pm-close so come for discounts on food and drinks. 10-year updated review: My original sentiments still stand a decade later. Doughroom is the perfect neighborhood spot. Casual enough to drop in for happy hour or grab a few seats at the bar without reservations during the dinner rush. Upscale and consistent enough to take out of town visitors. They've evolved in the best of ways over the past decade, and managed to claw back from the pandemic even better. I see the same servers over multiple years yet have the opportunity to try a new beer or cocktail every time I visit. Best mozzarella sticks in town. Love the brussel sprouts with goat cheese. Cannot go wrong with any of the pizzas. The only thing I miss is that they no longer have soft scrambled eggs for brunch. read more

The Food: We ordered The Spicy Bear and I thought it was a good pie. I enjoyed the crust, the balance of spicy honey with the pepperonis, and the cheese. It reminds me of a nice new york style pizza, with a nice chew on it. I think the individual flavors of each component of the pizza were great, but I would like to have a little more balance personally. I think an extra layer of hot honey would have been the cherry on top so to say. It tasted amazing with extra chili flakes on the pizza. Went to The Dough Room for a casual date and it did not disappoint. The food came out fresh and piping hot. I was a bit hesitant about the pea pasta, but the creamy butter sauce and the unexpected crunch from fried onions brought it all together surprisingly well. The portion was on the smaller side, though. The pizza was excellent--crispy crust with a nice bite, and the chili oil added a subtle kick and a rich, savory aroma that elevated the whole dish. Dessert was decent. We had a cake with ice cream; nothing bad, just not my favorite since I prefer something with a crispier exterior. The service was good; the servers were attentive, coming by multiple times to make sure everything was good/if we needed anything, although they did not clarify the order, and missed our initial dessert order. The total came out to $67 for a soda, two entrées, and dessert which felt extremely fair for the quality and experience. 100% would recommend for a casual night out! :) read more

i've always wanted to try this place, the flashing lights and giant sign really drew me in. So one weekend night, I decided to hit it up with my friend. we came for the happy hour, which was a pretty good deal with really delicious food. What we especially loved where the sweet and spicy buffalo wings, which were perfectly crispy yet juicy on the inside with a unique flavor. they came with a side of their homemade ranch, which was creamy and perfectly seasoned with herbs peeking through. I have never tried before. We also got some smoked mozzarella sticks and those were not giving me the right cheese pull that I wanted, but the flavor was really good and smoky for sure. we were really hungry, so we also ordered the happy hour pizza which is their pizza of the month, seasonal pizza or something. It was the Al pastor Pizza, which was kind of interesting. Didn't really like al pastor as it wasn't crispy as it would be on a taco but rather thick and a bit juicy. I think it's best to just get the classic pizza, they recommend the spicy bear. I probably get the spicy bear and sub soppresata salami, instead of pepperoni, which sadly would cost extra. The service was really great. They were very attentive and friendly folk. I just have one thing that bothered me. I finished my margarita, which was only $10 on the happy hour, and then the bartender made me a new one and just gave it to me. I didn't ask for one, so I was kind of confused. I wasn't really planning on drinking two drinks that night, so yeah, but I drank it anyway. it wasn't a free drink or anything. all in all, the items on the happy hour were so delicious. Really looking forward to coming back and getting some more wings, smoky mozzarella sticks, and maybe trying all the other amazing things on the happy hour menu. Meatball, burger and chocolate cake are delish. Mimosas are fun and give you juice options to tag with your champagne. Yum! Indoor and outdoor are comfy and chill. One TV for the sports watching situation so if you're expecting to come in game day, you may be disappointed. Love the bar area for happy hour and so worth it if you're looking for something super casual. Craft brews are fun to experiment here. They offer owns from across the country. Dough Room Review I've been to Dough Room many times before, so you already know I'm going to say it's amazing! I usually get the Alfredo pasta with chicken (no mushrooms) -- it's always creamy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I'm not even a big cauliflower fan, but their fried cauliflower is crispy, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious, especially with the sauce . Their happy hour fries are also a must-try! The customer service here is always a 10/10 -- everyone's super friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. This place is definitely underrated and deserves more love! The chopped and Caesar salads were decent, and the pizzas were good but not amazing. The pappardelle wasn't actually pappardelle--the noodles were much thinner, more like tagliatelle. We tried three different pastas, and while they were all good, they lacked protein. The chicken wings had too thick of a flour coating and weren't spicy enough for my taste. Desserts were enjoyable, but nothing particularly outstanding. Our server was very friendly and provided great service. The price point was reasonable, which may explain the lack of protein in the pasta dishes. Overall, it's a solid spot for a quick and affordable dinner, but not a place I'd go out of my way for. Parking: It's Palms, so it's TOUGH and you just have to circle around the neighborhoods for a bit. Experience: We came in at 6pm on a Thursday and were able to be seated right away. There are some picnic table-stule seating outside and then seating indoors. We got a nice corner booth and our server Charlie was awesome. I shared the 2am Pizza and the Fettucine pasta with a friend and both were delicious! My friends liked their pizzas and pastas, and they had a fun cocktail menu. What a pleasant surprise! We are on a mission to try as many new places as we can because sometimes you just get stuck in that rut of going to the same places over and over again. Usually, the only time I get pizza is from delivery, but I decided to try theirs. First, we shared the chopped salad and it was very good and the dressing was light and tasty. Definitely large enough for two. My gorgeous date tried the spicy bear pizza and even though that's really not my brand of vodka, I decided to give it a try. The honey on it really adds some great flavor and the little bits of chili definitely gave it a kick. Me on the other hand, I'm more of your classic cheese guy and that's exactly what I had. It's also a great barometer of how good the pizza really is because it's just the basics. I never expected to say this, but it's one of the best cheese pizzas I've had in a very long time. The crust was just right and it had the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese. Christian, our server, was friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to interact with. The setting is really nice and we sat outside. They have this wall that they built that really shield you from the sounds of traffic. It's a warm and engaging local place. Parking is a challenge because they share the lot with the dry cleaners and they have a few spots reserved. We were lucky to find a spot and while there are available spots in the neighborhood, I would imagine that because of all of the apartments it's tough. We recently moved to the area and have driven past The Dough Room countless times, noticing its solid reviews and lively vibe. Tonight, we finally decided to check it out for ourselves. For a Sunday evening, the restaurant had a decent crowd and a pleasant atmosphere inside. They also have a large outdoor patio, which initially caught our interest, but when we arrived, it was completely empty -- a little disappointing since we were hoping for a more lively outdoor dining experience. The service was average overall and felt slightly disorganized at times, though everyone was friendly. The menu is extensive, offering a good mix of Italian-inspired dishes along with a nice cocktail list and solid beer selection. And the prices are fair. We started with the garlic knots, which unfortunately were on the dry side and didn't quite hit the mark. The wings were a winner for our table- crispy on the outside, with a sweet & zesty sauce, and juicy on the inside. The salads were also delicious -- both the Caesar and the chopped salad were fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. Since this is primarily a pizza spot, we had high hopes for the main course. We went with "The Spicy Bear" -- pepperoni, Calabrian chili, ricotta, Mike's Hot Honey, and basil. While the idea sounded promising, the execution fell flat. The crust was dry, the overall flavor felt muted, and the honey was overly dominant, overshadowing the other ingredients instead of complementing them. All in all, our experience was just okay. The wings, salads and drink menu might bring us back, but for pizza, we may keep exploring other options in the area before returning here.
