Carne Asada Nachos (we finished all of it) so good!
    Janet T.

Me and my hubby wanted to try a new place we have not been to before so we searched on YELP. Fonda Dona Loca looked like a really authentic Mexican restaurant so we decided to give it a try. I wish we would have tried this place sooner because it was so memorable and delicious! CARNE ASADA NACHOS: 10/10 STAR OF THE SHOW!! It was highly addictive. I just couldn't stop eating it. The Carne Asada was cooked perfectly and the chips were so crispy. I really LOVED that they used QUESO FRESCO!! I was still thinking about it when I came home... SAUCES: 10/10 All the sauces were really good!! My favorite was the creamy green one. I loved it so much I bought the biggest size to take home! CHILE RELLENO BURRITO: 9/10 I love Chile Relleno! What a creative twist to make it a burrito. I prefer the Chile Relleno to be crispy so I asked for the sauces on the side and they were able to accommodate! HORCHATA LOCA: 10/10 Wow! It was so rich and creamy. I loved it so much. It reminded me of a strong milk tea. I'm going to order LARGE next time... AMBIANCE: Great ambiance. Warm and cozy vibes. I also love that they have an outdoor patio! There's usually a long line on the weekends so make sure to come early or be patient and wait because it's definitely WORTH THE WAIT!! I will definitely be back!! And bring my mom and friends too!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! WHAT A GREAT GEM TO HAVE IN TEMECULA!!!! ONE BITE AND YOU'LL GO LOCA FOR FONDA DOÑA LOCA!!!!

Whoa!! How did I miss this place!! I grub hubbed a Chile Relleno Wet Burrito and Horchata Loca and IT DID NOT disappoint!! So delicious! So flavorful!! I am definitely going into the establishment next time to try more dishes!!

I was craving Mexican food and my husband was in the mood for an American breakfast, so we came here to compromise. They give you a complimentary sopa de fideo (tomato noodle soup). I chose the red chilaquiles and really enjoyed my dish. My husband loved his sausage and egg breakfast burrito. I also wanted to try their mole, so they gave me a sample. It was delicious and a very good mole. The restaurant is very clean, including their bathrooms. Service was exceptional, our server was very sweet, and the food came out quickly.

Wanted to try a new restaurant in town so we yelped and found this cute little gem. Honestly didn't even know it existed until then. Located in a strip center hidden a little bit off Temecula Parkway. It had outdoor seating for us and our pup so gave it a try. Everyone from the hostess to the servers were very personable -checked on us quite a bit, and made sure we had everything we needed. Walking through the restaurant - it was packed by the way and it was 9:00 AM on a Saturday.. It was an extensive menu even for breakfast. I ordered the spinach mushroom omelette that also had pico and Monterey Jack cheese. It had no protein in it but came with a side of your choice of corn tortillas or toast. You could've added protein for an additional charge. Hubby had a senior meal that consisted of one egg, any style, a little bit of ham, a little bit of sausage and two bacon strips. We shared both of these entrées. Food was tasty and satisfying. Not sure if this was "normal"but they gave away free Mexican bread to try as well as a little gift bag to take home with some mini pottery in it. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you got. Will probably bring our son the next time since he's the bigger eater in our family and this restaurant would definitely be a good value for the money.

I've been twice now, once for breakfast which was really good which made me go back a second time to try out some lunch choices. The customer service has been amazing both times the staff are friendly and give good recommendations. The mango Fresca was so fresh and not too sweet. I got the carne asade fries and the fries were nice and crispy and the carne asade was seasoned well. The Oreo churros were delicious and enough to share with another person. Everything is such large portions which is also nice

Absolutely delicious and full of heart--this place feels like eating at grandma's house. The flavors are authentic and comforting, just like traditional home cooking. The rice was perfect, with those classic little peas and carrots that brought back so many memories. Such a thoughtful touch to be served complimentary sopa de fideo--it was warm, simple, and exactly what you'd hope for. You can really taste the care in every dish. If you're looking for genuine, homemade-style Mexican food that feels nostalgic and satisfying, this spot is a must! Thank you Martha for your wonderful service!

I have to say that this burrito, the chilangon, is the most amazing breakfast burrito that I've ever had. It's like thin I've ever tasted and I have to write a review about how wonderful it was. I had this Saturday morning and I have been missing it ever since. I have to come back no matter the cost. This establishment is a very cute and cool breakfast place that I recommend for Mexican brunch foods that I absolutely love. The service is amazing and we were constantly checked on throughout our visit. 5/5, I can't recommend the chilangon enough

I adore this restaurant. It's my current favorite place for a quick lunch. I just wish they were open later in the day for dinner. The dining room is spacious with an outdoor patio as well. The service and food have been spectacular every time I've been in. The serve a complimentary soup with lunch and make their own hot sauces. I just really wish they gave you chips as well. They are only $1 but you get enough for only one person. The Sopes just might be the best I've ever had and my daughter is obsessed with the Nutella pancakes.

Confirmed! It wasn't just a one time experience of amazing-ness! Took my mother in law recently for brunch and she LOVED it. She ordered the chilaquiles and I ordered the Ham and egg melt. We arrived at a great time, there was only about 4 families and a squad from the fire department but that didn't affect the customer service one bit. As we were leaving about 4 more families came in so that was exciting to see for this business We were quickly attended to, and promptly received our drinks. By the way.... The Horchata!! I am genuinely a kind snob (I'll order but never return because I understand every business is different) when it comes to horchata because I make it fresh myself so I know when restaurants use a powder mix this horchata was FRESH, without doubt they use rice, cinnamon and all the magic that goes into this drink. Kudos! The customer service was immaculate. The waitress was training someone and was so on point when it came to checking in, getting our order in, and when it was time to pay. Thank you again for the amazing experience!

Fonda Doña Loca is a casual Mexican dining restaurant located in a shopping plaza. The atmosphere was calm and inviting. The facility was clean including the bathrooms. The woman's bathroom had a baby changing table. There were booths along the right side wall and regular tables everywhere else. Water came in to go plastic cups with a lid and straw. Complementary soup is offered to begin the dining experience. I ordered the green chilaquiles and my fiancé ordered the red. The meal tasted great for both of us, but we wished it was slightly more warm. Our server was attentive and we had an overall great experience. We would be happy to be return customers.

Breakfast Burrito, chips and guacamole, chicken taco, chorizo and eggs, mango juice
    Leslie F.

The food was phenomenal, the chorizo and eggs were just like how my mom used to make. The breakfast burrito with bacon was great the only thing I wish it had beans because the beans from my own plate were bomb. The taco was so good, they don't play with their corn tortillas. I advise trying at least one taco because the tortilla alone was 10/10. The agua was fresh and delicious. We also got a pancake, not my personal favorite. I prefer my pancakes airy and buttery, this one was thick and battery but my partner loves that kind. Overall we will be coming again whenever we are in town. And for whoever said the salsa is trash, so is your mom. The salsas were all fantastic!

    Chile Relleno Burrito

I gave this place a fair shot. Three separate visits, trying a wide range of items, before settling on my rating. Without a doubt, this is the best Mexican restaurant within a 50-mile radius. Across my visits, I ordered the chile relleno burrito, chilaquiles, tacos, mole, pancakes, and more. Every single dish was phenomenal, honestly, not one complaint. What really sets this place apart is the tortillas. It's rare to find a spot where both corn and flour tortillas are equally impressive. The corn tortillas are soft, pliable, and never brittle, with a rich toasted corn flavor. The flour tortillas have that perfect slight stretch and texture that's hard to come by. You will not eat dry tortillas here ! The salsas: jalapeño, habanero, and red, are all outstanding, and the service has been consistently great. The city doesn't have many standout Mexican food options, but this place fills that gap completely. Prices are very reasonable, making it a great choice for families, and the value is absolutely there. I'm a big fan and this has easily become my go-to spot for breakfast and Mexican food. I really hope this restaurant continues to thrive in the community.I'll definitely be back soon.

He and the entire team were incredibly attentive without being overbearing--a rare talent these days! Now let's talk about the food. I had the bison burger and wow. It wasn't trying to be fancy or complicated, it was just really, really good. The smoky applewood bacon was the perfect touch and took it to another level. And that Old Fashioned? Smoky, delicious, and dangerous because it goes down way too easy. The atmosphere was lively, fun, and the kind of place where you look around and immediately know you're going to have a good time. Flavor overall was decent, but nowhere near memorable. The mac and cheese was bland, the beans were okay, and even the pickles had an odd chemical taste to them. The service was genuinely great, which was the highlight of the experience, but at around $48 for the combo plate, the food quality just didn't justify the cost.
