Great spot for some Carne Asada Fries. Their cabeza mini tacos are also full of meat and flavor. Their hot sauces do justice from little spice and for us who love some fire. Next time you you give a chance if you

27911 Jefferson Ave #101, Temecula, CA 92590. This restaurant is highly recommended. The food was exceptional, the service was great, and I was impressed by the Molcajete mixto, which served example of authentic Mexican cuisine .

I've reviewed Vero's before, it's an excellent restaurant in Temecula that specializes in Mexican Food & Seafood, there's also an Ice Cream Bar for Cones. Service is good, Music plays in the background. She had 2 Cheese Enchiladas with red sauce and I had the Chili Relleño Burrito. Yum. Pictured are the Enchiladas

Stumbled upon this little Mexican joint while we were staying at the Holiday Inn in Temucla. For a hole in the wall Mexican joint, Vero simply has it all. From ice cream to burritos, it's a more vast menu than one would think. We were pretty hungry coming in put definitely got our portions worth. I went with the two tacos and they were massive. One taco is filling enough here. But it did taste amazing and is worth having again. The servers are nice and frequently checked in when we needed them to. The $2 charge for chips is a bit absurd but oh well. A spot like Vero would be my go-to easy / affordable Mexican hub. It's pretty cheap and you can get a lot for what you paid for. Yum.

Carne Asada Burrito ordered on first visit

We have experienced problems on our last 3 visits after my initial review of Vero's Mexican and Seafood Restaurant. This has led to me revising my Yelp score from 4 stars to 2 stars. Main problem stems from poor food quality and lack of following through with requests. On delivery orders they have failed to provide hot sauce with each order. We have requested it on our orders but it is never in the bag. Try eating a dry fish taco with no white sauce and only some crappy red sauce they put on. Also, all tostadas ordered have come soggy and they have used chopped lettuce and not shredded lettuce. So bad my wife tossed hers and made her dinner with chips we had at home. My last carne asada burrito was very greasy and without salsa, not so good. There is only so much blame you can pin on the delivery service. This poor quality and lack of following through with customers request falls on Vero's. As they say in the big leagues "three strikes and you are out".

The food is really good! The asada has great flavor! I recommend this place of business.

Whenever I'm in Temecula, only 2 places I go to for some really good Mexican food. One of them is Vero's. Discovered them 6 years ago and the standard changed, the bar is higher. They always make anything I order very satisfying. My mini cabeza tacos and buche tacos are so flavorful. Also love their open salsa bar, best green salsa around. Hot carrots and peppers on the side are so good as well. They have a very big menu and everything I've ordered in the past are 5 stars. Service here is always good. The sisters run the place. They also give their younger family members the opportunity to work in the restaurant. The place is clean, always have diners and they have happy hour. People are friendly.

Because of this I've never been able to share the gloriousness that is a full seafood boil, especially a good one like Pier 88. The headless peel n' eat shrimp and crawfish, the true backbone of any decent boil, were plump and delicious. I felt kind of giddy every time I would finish one and saw how many were left. The lobster tail was a good change-of-pace and the king crab legs, admittedly not my favorite item, still managed to satisfy. I also like how they threw in so much potatoes and sausage into the mix. It was definitely super generous at what other places consider an afterthought. I thought the service was alright. They seemed to have forgotten one of my party's margaritas but that could have been more a slow bartender than an inept server. I also never got a prompt to refill my soda, which is a little more concerning. The ambiance was pretty good. There were plenty of tables and booths, and everything was spaced appropriately. You definitely don't feel like you're on top of the tables around you. They also had plenty of TV's as the World Cup was easy to watch along with. I could be happy here any time I get the craving for some shrimp and crawfish. And as long as the servers were more diligent about refills. One time I'll figure out how to get Miss Scotch herself to one of these things, dirty hands be damned. I'd say getting your hands in the muck and mire of delicious foods is half the fun. And with places like Pier 88 out there, you could be having a fun time and a full belly every day of the week.

The place was was nicely decorated. The bathrooms were nice and clean (not funny smells). The dinning area was spotless with updated sort of nautical beach hints. A clear refrigerator case with beautiful cuts of fish for sale greets you as you walk inside and the nautical/ocean theme of the decor is hard to miss. The hostess walked us past many empty tables and booths, only to seat our party of three in the last booth next to the bathrooms, and with a full and direct view of both bathroom entrances. When I enjoy a meal, this isn't the view that I'd like to see while dining whether at a restaurant or at home. I didn't want to make a fuss, but seriously, I think this table should only be used as last resort, as the products used to clean the bathrooms were extremely strong, and this cloying chemical odor permeated my nostrils through the duration of our meal. Even my eighty year old mom commented on the odor. Melody provided mostly good service for us. She did forget my mom's wine so we had to remind her about it, but she did kindly substitute the rice for scalloped potatoes upon my request. Additionally, the helpers & bussers were attentive and kept our bread plate full. :) The bread is delicious! My dad had a glass of lager & my mom had a glass of Chalk Hill Chardonnay. They both enjoyed their drinks. I didn't not drink today because I was the DD. We shared the Seafood Louie salad, and each of us was able to have a fresh and flavorful bowl of salad. Each of us enjoyed it. Then the entrees were brought out. My butterfish was cooked well, but the miso flavor was quite subtle. The green beans were on the sour side, but the scalloped potatoes that I subbed in for the rice were delicious. My mom loved her trout and said the same thing I did about the sides. My dad's pasta was overly sauced. The shrimp and scallops were fine, but he would have preferred for the shrimp tails to be removed. Melody asked if we wanted dessert... crème brûlée, key lime pie, or mud pie. While these sounded tasty, we were all pretty full, so we got the check & headed out. There is a large parking lot as well as adequate restroom facilities. Parting thoughts: The standout item of the evening was the salad. I expected a better all round experience based on the quality of recent reviews and my previous time dining here a few years ago. However, tonight's experience was average at best.

The carne asada was juicy and perfectly cooked. We ordered the loaded fries, and wow they were truly loaded with meat! We also tried the taco enchilada plate as a sampler, and the enchilada sauce was to die for. I literally scooped up every last bit with my quesadilla. They offer several house made sauces with different spice levels, and all of them were delicious. Each of us had a different favorite, so definitely sample them all before choosing. The quesadilla was great too, but if you're deciding, I highly recommend the loaded fries and the taco enchilada plate both were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Lastly, we got the horchata, and it was excellent perfectly flavored and not watered down at all. We pass through Temecula every time we visit California, and we can't wait to add this gem to our regular stop. There are so many other menu items we're excited to try next time!
