Carne Asada Nachos (we finished all of it) so good!
    Janet T.

Me and my hubby wanted to try a new place we have not been to before so we searched on YELP. Fonda Dona Loca looked like a really authentic Mexican restaurant so we decided to give it a try. I wish we would have tried this place sooner because it was so memorable and delicious! CARNE ASADA NACHOS: 10/10 STAR OF THE SHOW!! It was highly addictive. I just couldn't stop eating it. The Carne Asada was cooked perfectly and the chips were so crispy. I really LOVED that they used QUESO FRESCO!! I was still thinking about it when I came home... SAUCES: 10/10 All the sauces were really good!! My favorite was the creamy green one. I loved it so much I bought the biggest size to take home! CHILE RELLENO BURRITO: 9/10 I love Chile Relleno! What a creative twist to make it a burrito. I prefer the Chile Relleno to be crispy so I asked for the sauces on the side and they were able to accommodate! HORCHATA LOCA: 10/10 Wow! It was so rich and creamy. I loved it so much. It reminded me of a strong milk tea. I'm going to order LARGE next time... AMBIANCE: Great ambiance. Warm and cozy vibes. I also love that they have an outdoor patio! There's usually a long line on the weekends so make sure to come early or be patient and wait because it's definitely WORTH THE WAIT!! I will definitely be back!! And bring my mom and friends too!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! WHAT A GREAT GEM TO HAVE IN TEMECULA!!!! ONE BITE AND YOU'LL GO LOCA FOR FONDA DOÑA LOCA!!!!

I was craving Mexican food and my husband was in the mood for an American breakfast, so we came here to compromise. They give you a complimentary sopa de fideo (tomato noodle soup). I chose the red chilaquiles and really enjoyed my dish. My husband loved his sausage and egg breakfast burrito. I also wanted to try their mole, so they gave me a sample. It was delicious and a very good mole. The restaurant is very clean, including their bathrooms. Service was exceptional, our server was very sweet, and the food came out quickly.

Wanted to try a new restaurant in town so we yelped and found this cute little gem. Honestly didn't even know it existed until then. Located in a strip center hidden a little bit off Temecula Parkway. It had outdoor seating for us and our pup so gave it a try. Everyone from the hostess to the servers were very personable -checked on us quite a bit, and made sure we had everything we needed. Walking through the restaurant - it was packed by the way and it was 9:00 AM on a Saturday.. It was an extensive menu even for breakfast. I ordered the spinach mushroom omelette that also had pico and Monterey Jack cheese. It had no protein in it but came with a side of your choice of corn tortillas or toast. You could've added protein for an additional charge. Hubby had a senior meal that consisted of one egg, any style, a little bit of ham, a little bit of sausage and two bacon strips. We shared both of these entrées. Food was tasty and satisfying. Not sure if this was "normal"but they gave away free Mexican bread to try as well as a little gift bag to take home with some mini pottery in it. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you got. Will probably bring our son the next time since he's the bigger eater in our family and this restaurant would definitely be a good value for the money.

Whoa!! How did I miss this place!! I grub hubbed a Chile Relleno Wet Burrito and Horchata Loca and IT DID NOT disappoint!! So delicious! So flavorful!! I am definitely going into the establishment next time to try more dishes!!

I've been twice now, once for breakfast which was really good which made me go back a second time to try out some lunch choices. The customer service has been amazing both times the staff are friendly and give good recommendations. The mango Fresca was so fresh and not too sweet. I got the carne asade fries and the fries were nice and crispy and the carne asade was seasoned well. The Oreo churros were delicious and enough to share with another person. Everything is such large portions which is also nice

I have to say that this burrito, the chilangon, is the most amazing breakfast burrito that I've ever had. It's like thin I've ever tasted and I have to write a review about how wonderful it was. I had this Saturday morning and I have been missing it ever since. I have to come back no matter the cost. This establishment is a very cute and cool breakfast place that I recommend for Mexican brunch foods that I absolutely love. The service is amazing and we were constantly checked on throughout our visit. 5/5, I can't recommend the chilangon enough

Absolutely delicious and full of heart--this place feels like eating at grandma's house. The flavors are authentic and comforting, just like traditional home cooking. The rice was perfect, with those classic little peas and carrots that brought back so many memories. Such a thoughtful touch to be served complimentary sopa de fideo--it was warm, simple, and exactly what you'd hope for. You can really taste the care in every dish. If you're looking for genuine, homemade-style Mexican food that feels nostalgic and satisfying, this spot is a must! Thank you Martha for your wonderful service!

I adore this restaurant. It's my current favorite place for a quick lunch. I just wish they were open later in the day for dinner. The dining room is spacious with an outdoor patio as well. The service and food have been spectacular every time I've been in. The serve a complimentary soup with lunch and make their own hot sauces. I just really wish they gave you chips as well. They are only $1 but you get enough for only one person. The Sopes just might be the best I've ever had and my daughter is obsessed with the Nutella pancakes.

    Mole Chilaquiles

The ambiance of the location is quite charming and remarkably tranquil. I personally tried the mole chilaquiles, and I found them to be a bit sweeter than my ideal preference. My friend, however, thoroughly enjoyed the asada quesadilla, noting the exceptional seasoning and tenderness of the meat. We also ordered their agua frescas, which I would highly recommend to anyone with a fondness for sweeter beverages.

Confirmed! It wasn't just a one time experience of amazing-ness! Took my mother in law recently for brunch and she LOVED it. She ordered the chilaquiles and I ordered the Ham and egg melt. We arrived at a great time, there was only about 4 families and a squad from the fire department but that didn't affect the customer service one bit. As we were leaving about 4 more families came in so that was exciting to see for this business We were quickly attended to, and promptly received our drinks. By the way.... The Horchata!! I am genuinely a kind snob (I'll order but never return because I understand every business is different) when it comes to horchata because I make it fresh myself so I know when restaurants use a powder mix this horchata was FRESH, without doubt they use rice, cinnamon and all the magic that goes into this drink. Kudos! The customer service was immaculate. The waitress was training someone and was so on point when it came to checking in, getting our order in, and when it was time to pay. Thank you again for the amazing experience!

Carne asada huarache add egg on top

Okay this place is so DAMN good! Went for the first time today and my family loved it. I got the carne asada huarache and added an egg on top. My husband got the mole enchiladas. Hands down best mole sauce I've had. The cafe de Olla is so good too. Salsas are killer . Service was excellent

Soup starter. Water served in togo cups with lid and straw. Sauces provided without request.

With that being said, parking can be difficult because Old Town tends to get very busy on a Saturday. We walked in and it was not busy. The host/server told us to pick any table we would like. We chose outside, but they had just cleaned up the area, so our chairs were stacked. The host/server quickly helped us get the chairs down and place them at our table. The server was attentive and kept checking in on us. Now the food. When we were sat down, we were given complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were perfect and not overly salty or greasy. The salsa was very mild and had a great flavor. I ordered a 2 taco combo plate ($14.95) with carne asada and carnitas. The carne asada was just okay, it was cut into thicker piece, which is not my preference. It was also topped with guacamole, which was not the best I've had. The carnitas however were magnificent topped with pickled onions, cilantro, and salsa. The rice was not traditional Mexican rice and did have a bit of a crunch to it rather than a toast before cooking. The beans were just plain pinto beans, not refried beans, but they were good. While this place, is not extremely traditional, it is a great spot in Old Town Temecula with fairly good food. I'm looking forward to coming back again.

I noticed Espadín had tables and thought it was worth a shot. Also, it was getting really hot and I was ready for some air conditioning. We were seated immediately and our server got our drinks. The dressing was amazing. The chilaquiles were also good. From the moment you walked in the place was totally decked out for the America 250 theme. They really went all out and it was awesome. This place is huge by the way. Many rooms with soooo much seating but wr sat in the bar to see the US take on Paraguay in the World Cup match. Lots of TV's to see from any seat. Our server was delightful, so attentive and just really good at her job. I wish I would have gotten her name. She was wearing a Mexico FIFA jersey though. The food was dynamite! Everything on my combo plate was fire. The taco, enchilada and the especially the chill rellenoes! The batter was so thick and moist it was awesome. My mango chili margarita was great too. Service was super fast... almost too fast? For a graduation day I was surprised the place wasn't packed. I just get the soup it seems and the entree was already there! So the beans and rice got a little cold. The tacos were not that large but heck there was a lot of food after some nice chips and salsa. The chili relleno was the star. I took half of it home with the rice and beans (and salsa) and it made just the best left over burrito. The margaritas were super cheap and tasty - only $8.00 or so. My son lives just down the road near Pechanga so it's really close by. My question always is would I come back again? You bet. Great atmosphere, attentive service, good food and drink at a decent price.
