Stopped by for a quick bite before a show at Pechanga and was pleasantly surprised with the food, service and salsa selection. I refer to these places as California or SD style Mexican food and usually order accordingly. We didn't want any leftovers for just ordered the beef taquitos and a hard shell chicken taco. The taco was amazing. Chicken tasted like it was shredded off the bone and not just boneless chicken breast which we find boring. Great flavors and chunks of meat which gave a home style taste and texture. The taquitos were as expected. Couldn't taste the meat and guac a little watery, but hit the spot if you know what to expect and roll with it. Salsas were all really great, but the chipotle one was our favorite. Friendly service as well and clean inside. Happy to have stopped by and would go back again to try a few more items. read more

Restaurant is clean, service is awesome, very friendly. Salsa bar meets all expectations with variety, freshness and flavor. I'm looking for the best breakfast burrito in the area and this is my opinion for Los Jilbertos' Bacon breakfast burrito. The Burrito came out nice and hot, probably should have let it sit for a minute longer to let all the cheese melt before cutting it in half. Bacon was crispy, crunch on every piece if you're looking for that texture element. Cheese and egg were distributed throughout, but the potato was a little overwhelming and under seasoned. They also use a hash brown or shoe string style potato that makes the burrito feel more full of filler rather than flavor (egg, cheese, and potato). Personal preference, but I feel like it's the same sin as overloading a burrito with rice and not enough of the good stuff. Salsa helped cut some of the starchiness. Next time I'll try the sausage breakfast burrito as this was the next 3 orders after mine, maybe better? 3 stars for the bacon burrito 5 stars for the service 4 stars for the restaurant building, location and dining area (including salsa bar) Overall solid convenient choice near the freeway and Pechanga. read more

Best breakfast chorizo burrito I've ever had! Good amount of chorizo and egg, potatoes were cooked perfectly, and not too much cheese. (Which is my type of chorizo burrito) if you like extra of something, I would ask for that! Excited to try in person and experience the service and atmosphere soon! read more

I've been coming here for the last couple of years, and it's become one of my go-to spots for Mexican food. I almost always get the carne asada nachos--lately, they've been so good! Super loaded, fresh, and definitely enough to share with my two daughters. I always get a side of beans too, and they never disappoint--the beans are honestly some of the best around. We've tried quite a few other dishes over time, and everything has been consistently delicious. Great food, generous portions, and a place we always look forward to coming back to! read more

Ordered 2 sausage breakfast burritos this morning only to discover upon getting home, there was no egg inside. Called & was first placed on hold. Was told by Maricela that "they didn't tell her anything". Not sure what that meant...and that I needed to come back with the burritos to get credit or replacement. We order from this establishment often & love it. Never had an issue. Until today. First time that a restaurant doesn't take your word for it. Why would I call if things were perfect?! It's not like they can sell the ones you brought back?! Oh they need to "see" there was no egg. Will find a new place based on this experience. This used to be my spot. I ordered a a California Burrito on the phone. I asked if it came with guacamole and sour cream and cheese. They said yes. I got my Burrito at home and there was none. Stopped in for a B&C burrito. The bag was pretty light and not warm, but I didn't think too much into it. Took me @ 10 minutes to get home. Opened the bag up and found a cold, skinny, rolled taco size burrito. Unrolled the tortilla and found @ 3-4 tablespoons of beans and a few cold chunks of shredded cheese. Beans were sour. I came here on a Monday evening after my winery trip because my usual Krispy Crunchy Chicken was closed. I've probably only eaten here once 10 plus years ago. The cashier said her fav meat is the pastor. A customer recommended the torta. The pastor torta did not disappoint. The meat was thinnly sliced and tender. The bread was amazing and not thick and hard. This was a very tasty and huge sandwich. I don't remember if there were beans on it because I was tipsy and starving. The salsas were amazing. The sandwich was $10 but that's all you need. They are pricey for Mexican food but I'm not sure if that's a norm or the covid inflation. read more

Came here just before the lunch rush and it was already a bit busy. I really wanted a fat burrito and this place does not mess around. We ordered the Cali and Nak burritos and both were formidable. Huge, heavy, and stuffed with meat. I struggled a bit to finish my burrito and I'm super pregnant. Mexican husband is always super suspicious about any new Mexican joint and he was happy with what they had here. Can recommend and will be back the next time we're in the area. read more

This location used to be really good, but the last two times I went it was just okay. The carne asada burrito is a favorite of many southern Californians, and this one was good, but not great. The carne was a little dry, which even with salsa added, it wasn't juicy. I'm also a fan of hot carrots, but these were a little over cooked and lacked any heat. I remember this place being so much better, overall for over $65 for 4 burritos and 4 drinks, I expect a little more. Hope they can improve as it's closer to my home, but if not, I'll be headed to the one over by the mall, which is consistently better. read more

I actually don't know why this place has fewer stars. I love the food here. It's so flavorful for Mexican food! Usually everything is burnt or extremely well done. My favorite is the Carne asada hard shell tacos and the Carne asada quesadilla! The salsas they have there is pretty good too! Only thing is they kinda take long making the food! read more

Best California burrito in the state. Size of the burrito is great. I give my wife 1/3 of the burrito and still have trouble finishing off my portion. Bit on the pricer side but worth it. Don't forget to add sour cream and guac! read more

Short you your food. When you go back to let them know they deny shorting you and say you are lying. I never had bad customer service as this place. I let i go the 1st two times but it kept happening multiple times. Never again at this place . ALWAYS CHECK BEFORE LEAVING OR JUST STAY AWAY. read more

I no longer live nearby but I do miss their food, the hot salsa, all the burritos, the taquitos. crispy tacos, the carne assada, the pollo, and the carnitas or pork. The chips to dip into their amazing salsas and beans. It's been 5 years, I could use a care package sent to NE Ohio ! The Riverside restaurant near the University was my first visit a decade ago, then I discovered a taco shop hidden in Murrieta and then this one in Temecula! A family restaurant business had started so thanks for sharing your family's secret recipes with the rest of us ! Now build a few locations here in Ohio by all the Universities schools and you'll have a restaurant dynasty! Hope everyone's healthy, someday I'll be back for more! read more

Every time I go here I'm quite satisfied. Good, authentic Mexican food. Chilie Rellanos. Tortas, great tacos, and especially the bean and cheese burrito The burritos beans are legit, and the tortillas taste freshly made. It's massive so order one and share half. If you are in the Temecula area and are looking for authentic Mexican food I highly reccomend this place! The service is great and the food is just what u can expect when you walk in and see a salsa bar BoMb!!! . The restaurant itself is clean and very inviting. The burritos are always a hit in my family especially the breakfast ones... and do yourself a favor get lots of their delicious carrots from the salsa bar. I've lived in Temecula for the past couple years now and I've tried most of the Mexican restaurants out here. This being said, to this day, Los Jilberto's off of Temecula Parkway is the Mexican restaurant to go to. I'm not saying it's a great sit down, hire a baby sitter, take your significant other out type of spot. But if your looking for a quick bite to go, hole in the wall type place..this is the place. Pros: - great carne - vast selection, so much, you'll find something you like and keep it there - chips...the CHIPS!! The ONLY place that provides banging chips for what they're charging. Cons: - inflation, prices of side of chips went from $1 to $1.20. The audacity. (Jk, these chips can't be beat in Temecula) read more

We had the worst service at this place. The workers had an attitude with us our entire time. We came in an hour before closing and they we're treating us like we were completely inconveniencing them. Food was good, but with the way they we're treating us, we fully expected they had spit in our food or something. I work in the wine industry & know all about closing & the customer service that goes hand in hand with that. This is the furthest way I would treat customers, and did not appreciate being treated this way. read more

This company could really improve on the ingredients every time I order a Carnitas burrito it's always dry and then their Carne Sada. French fries was dry and had no flavor whatsoever. I had to add salt and salsa and sour cream because they only put a little bit. I'm very disappointed with this restaurant. It used to be really good. I don't know if they have different cooks on different days of the week, but it really needs to improve, or I'm probably not gonna go there anymore. read more

Carne asada fries never disappoints my kiddo! We love the bean and cheese burros and the #7 two beef burro combo... Never had a bad experience but prices gone up and they could clean up the salsa bar a bit since other customers don't know how to keep it decent.. Otherwise, staff are usually fast(not today tho ‍)and friendly, tables and floors mostly always clean.. ambience is good, quiet and like they have TVs for entertainment. read more

BEST carne asada burrito out there! We drive 25 minutes to eat here. Looks like a hole in the wall next to a dentist and a stbx. Go in, you won't be sorry. The meat is super flavorful the pico and guac combo is perfection! It's pretty big, super stuffed with meat. I have to cut it in half but it's a win win because I get two meals out of it. Score! We've tried multiple things in the menu: tacos, burrito, flautas, combo plates all so freaking good. SO MANY CARROTS!!! To be honest I get two baggies and stuff them full. They're so good. The server was attentive and kept checking in on us. Now the food. When we were sat down, we were given complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were perfect and not overly salty or greasy. The salsa was very mild and had a great flavor. I ordered a 2 taco combo plate ($14.95) with carne asada and carnitas. The carne asada was just okay, it was cut into thicker piece, which is not my preference. It was also topped with guacamole, which was not the best I've had. The carnitas however were magnificent topped with pickled onions, cilantro, and salsa. The rice was not traditional Mexican rice and did have a bit of a crunch to it rather than a toast before cooking. The beans were just plain pinto beans, not refried beans, but they were good. While this place, is not extremely traditional, it is a great spot in Old Town Temecula with fairly good food. I'm looking forward to coming back again.

We ordered a grilled Caesar salad, green chilaquiles with eggs, and guacamole. The guacamole was so fresh and had a great lime flavor. The grilled Caesar was the star of the show! The dressing was amazing. The chilaquiles were also good. I was a little nervous at first since they weren't busy when we walked in compared to the other restaurants on the street, but it ended up being a great surprise how good everything was!
