This place was absolutely cute. The cake was fresh and lots of options for the kids to decorate. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The young ladies helping maybe the owners daughters were adorable and so nice when helping . I'd definitely come back with my children. I also had the peach cobbler cheesecake!!!! YUM

Used the frosting as "glue" to hold the fondant in place

Came here for my nephew's birthday on a Saturday afternoon, a couple of weeks ago. It was very clean inside and plenty of free parking outside. The people who worked here were so friendly and helpful, too. My sister said they were able to put up decorations the day before. She brought in Round Table pizzas, fruit, drinks, and a birthday cake. There were roughly 24 people in our group, but only 14 of us wanted to decorate cupcakes. Each person got 6 cupcakes (we all got 3 chocolate and 3 funfetti), 2 fondant colors, 2 frosting colors, 2 toppings (candy, sprinkles, gummy bears, etc.) and tools. They also have a lot of good selection of silicone molds. I recommend that you coordinate your fondant colors and toppings with your table so that you can share and have more variety. We had too much white fondant, but no green, so I mixed blue and yellow fondant to get it. The kids had a lot of fun and so did the adults. I didn't expect to have so much fun decorating cupcakes. Before I knew it, there was only 15 mins left and I still had 4 cupcakes to decorate. Took the cupcakes home and they were almost too cute to eat, but my kids and I loved them. They were so delicious! Totally recommend this for a birthday or just to do a fun activity with kids. Reminds me of Color Me Mine, but you get to eat your creation.

Fondant Cups & Cakes in Concord has the best cupcakes, milk shakes and it's a fun place for a party or a play date! We have been coming here getting their delicious cupcakes since they opened! My favorite is the salted caramel, SO good. Today my daughter had a play date and we decided to take our girls cupcake decorating. They have some different packages where you can decorate 4 or 6 cupcakes or a even a cake! They provide all the fondant colors, frosting, character molds, piping bags and candy toppings. Our girls had a blast and we'll definitely be going back!

Omg, the only thing I can say is FUN! FUN! This awesome place is fun for all ages. I took my 6-year-old daughter and my 16 teenager, and we had a ball!! The business was so cute and clean, and the staff was so helpful from the beginning to end. Thank you! FONDANT Cupand cakes for making my kids day!! Janika

Cupcakes we moist the service was nice and they were patient with explaining the process it was nice and clean and hour is enough other items for sale too!!

My family is picky when is comes to cupcakes. This bakery surpassed our expectations. The frosting was light and airy, the cake moist and delicious. The quality of the cupcakes surpassed that of Susiecakes or Kara's Cupcakes. The owner is knowledgeable and professional. Her bakery reflects a whimsical and colorful environment perfect for the treats she serves. If you have a child who loves to bake and create consider a party or a play date here! Adults too can join the fun for bridal or baby showers or just a fun activity with friends. Very rarely will I say I could eat another cupcake. Most of the time halfway though these baked goods I'm ready to wrap it up and toss it. That was not the case for these morsels of goodness! If nothing else go patronize this bakery and buy some of these delicious and creative treats. Go spread some love and goodness to this local establishment!

Saw this place on TikTok and had to come check it out. Definitely didn't disappoint. We had so much fun the staff was amazing and so welcoming. Plus the Oreo shake was delicious. Thank you so much. We enjoyed our yummy cake.

Cereal wall, beautiful artwork, and the cereal shake, wow!

All I can say is what a clever, cute, special, and overall beautiful ambiance! Great place for parties and quick sweet tooth craving. Not if, but when you come, you MUST try their cereal milkshake where you get to pick swim their famous, rare cereal wall!!!

I had a wonderful experience coming here with my family! I brought my daughter and nieces. They had so much fun decorating a cake and set of cupcakes. All the staff was super welcoming and accommodating. They squeezed me in before a party and I appreciated it because it was really important for my daughter to experience! The cake was really good and lots of fun options for colors and decor. I can't wait to come back and try the milkshakes

Im not much of a yelper, but this place needs to be known! It was my sons 7th birthday, and he wanted to decorate his own cupcakes so we were heading out the supermarket (and tbh i was dreading thinking of everything i needed to prepare for a DIY cupcake) I stumbled across this place on yelp during the drive, and called them to see if what this place is about. Over the phone they were so kind and let me know they are a cake and cupcake studio for just the thing! They do events but walkins were welcome! We head straight there, and it was amazing! We ordered the kit of 6 cupcakes that you choose different colored frosting and fondant, and a whole array of candies/sprinkles to choose from! They have dozens and dozens of all sorts of silicone molds with different themese to use with your fondant and they are so kind and thourough to explain how to decorate our cupcakes! My kids are 4 and 7, and even us adults had alot of fun! An hour whizzed past by with great tasting fun results! Argh, im not a great writer or yelper, i wish i could explain how much of a fun event it was for just having stumbled across them...!!! Its a very clean place, super friendly staff, very welcoming and attentive,, AND DELICIOUS FROSTING AND CUPCAKES! My kids cant wait to come back! Not only for birthdays, its nice and casual where i plan on bringing them over for a special treat next time.

Excellent cupcake, should have taken the "before" photo.

I just had a chocolate cupcake, really good. Friendly owner and a clean, quiet environment. Did I mention the chocolate cupcake. Yummmm. I'm going to get something right now to scrape off the remaining cake from the paper. And if you're hungry, they have hot dogs too, I'll try that next week.

Well here you are, looking at Alpine Pastry and Cakes. Is this place good? Do I take a chance?…read more Will I be disappointed? Yes, it is very good Yes take a chance. You will not be disappointed. My wife and son are dessert snobs. Both have been to Paris and say France has the best pastries. But wait, they just came back from Alpine, and what did they say???? DELICIOUS!! They were smiling from ear to ear! They bought a carrot cake and an assortment of fresh and tasty pastries. And they even let me have a bite. It was so good! Sooooo, yes, try them. We've all had crappy deserts before. Move up to the big leagues and give Alpine a try!

Oh I hate to do this because they have done cakes for me in the past, but the call I just got off…read moreof was SUPER unpleasant. I called in today to see if they could decorate a faux cake for me. Not only was she rude, but she told me she would charge me AS MUCH AS SHE WOULD for a real cake. You mean to tell me it would cost me $100 plus to decorate a piece of Styrofoam? And then, when I told her the shape of the Styrofoam, she flat out said no. As if the shape of the Styrofoam changes the action? And I'm not a baker, at least not a professional one, but something feels off about what feels like the refusal to help me. And it's not like I am looking for free service, I'm willing to pay, but I'm not willing to pay cake prices for icing on Styrofoam. Saying no, as a business is OK, I'm all for it. But customer service needs a serious rebranding. I have never had a good in person/over the phone experience. Their food speaks for itself, but the customer service skills really takes away the value of a local business that has been around for years. I hope whoever I spoke on the phone with has a better day

What Happened to the Choco Bun?…read more Plenty of free parking. When you walk in, grab a tray and window shop all the pastries. They individually wrap these so grab what you want and place it on your tray. Once you're finished, cruise up to the counter. Would I Come Back? Yes, I keep coming back. I use to come back for the Choco Bun, but if they've changed the recipe at all locations, I'll only be coming back for the Milk Bun and Nougat. Their Signature Item: Egg tarts are their signature item. If you've ever been to an Asian party, someone almost always brings a box of egg tarts from 85-Degrees. But on today's visit. Well, just look at the photo. Someone stepped away from the oven for about 6 minutes too long. Choco Bun ($2.55, Grade D): The Choco Bun has been my absolute go-to for years--the closest location to me is usually the South Sacramento store and I tell everyone they have to get it whenever they visit an 85°C. Unfortunately, it's been about 8 months since my last trip, and the Choco Bun is no longer something to write home about. Milk Bun ($2.05, Grade A+): If you've ever had their Milk Bun with the custard filling, the Choco Bun used to be very similar in texture. Now, it's flat with super dry edges. Not good at all. Luckily, I also bought a Milk Bun (my usual second favorite), and by default, it's now my number one because the Choco Bun was a complete bust. It's so fluffy and sweet. Melts in your mouth. Strawberry Banana Smoothie / no boba ($5.85, Grade F): It was incredibly artificial-tasting--nothing real about it. I only made it through a quarter of it before throwing the rest into the garbage. My fault for hoping for a "just picked" fresh fruit taste, but this was honestly one of the worst smoothies I've ever had. Nougat ($9.60, Grade A+): The bagged Nougat candy is fantastic. It's soft, gooey, and packed with what I'm guessing are pieces of pistachio. Delicious, but a fair warning if you have dental issues: these will wreak havoc on your teeth. It's not quite as sticky as a Starburst, but it could definitely pull out a denture! Bottom Line: The staff here is friendly, and there are still a few standout 5-star items that make a visit worth it (the Milk Bun and the Nougat). However, the disappointing recipe change to the Choco Bun and the absolute miss on the smoothie knock this down to a 3-star experience overall.

The location is easy to get to, with lots of parking behind in a lot, and it's very clean, with lots of chairs and tables; yet all were filled this Saturday evening, which is a good sign. There are too many pastries, treats, and drinks to even cover, and we spent a few minutes trying to find our choices, which you mainly pick from cabinets using a self-serve tray and tongs. For drinks and cake (whole or sliced), you order those at the counter. We decided on some pastries, some cake slices, and a drink. And S'mores was the predominant theme today. We ordered a raspberry fruit bite, 2 chocolate supreme croissants, 2 S'mores Belgian waffles, a sugar mochi donut, a coffee donut croissant, 2 slices of S'mores chocolate marshmallow cake, and a slice of rainbow cake. We also got the cream cheese puff and the crème brûlée bombolone ... quite the name! And, of course, a S'mores frappe! The server helping us at the register was polite and efficient, but there was only one register open and a long line. As such, other folks were helping gather the goodies from the cake case, and as we were taking these to go, we did not realize until we were home that the rainbow cake was not a rainbow cake, but a THIRD slice of S'mores cake. Ugh. That one was chosen by the 8-year-old, who was understandably not happy, and the additional insult of paying extra (above the cost of the S'mores) for a cake we didn't get made ME unhappy too! Paid $8.29, got a $6.99 cake slice. The pastries are generally good, with some very good and some more of a "meh." Among the best were the raspberry fruit bite and the coffee donut croissant. That coffee one was a surprise, as it had a soft liquid filling we didn't realize when buying, and the taste was very coffee, which I loved. Will get that again for sure. The S'mores chocolate supreme croissant was also popular. The crème brûlée bombolone was different, with a light pastry and a filling different from what I usually find in crème puffs, and it was tasty. The waffles were not a light and airy as we would have liked, but the flavor was good. The mochi donut was a bit dry as well, not up to true Japanese bakery standards, and the cream cheese puff was all puff and short on the cream cheese (see photos). And the S'more cake was good for flavor, very rich and S'morey, but the presentation really is lacking. Not that I normally compare one chain to another, but for example, when we get Crumbl, the product is very close to the advertising. Not so with the S'more cake, and I am not even sure all the layers were there and in the proper order or proportion; check out the photos and see what I mean. However, the flavor was spot on, and that is the ultimate goal, although the "eyes eat first," as we Yelpers know! And the highlight was not a pastry or cake, but the S'more frappe. It was layered beautifully, fresh-tasting, and very S'morey (yes, a new word I now love!). We even got a second, as we had to eat this there so it could be shared by the group, and it was calling us! Definitely hope it is available next visit, and Starbucks could take a lesson in quality versus price point. Some of the pastries here are really not worth the cost for the product (would skip the cream cheese puff, for example, and the mochi donut), but everything else was very good. Other than an error in fulfilling the order correctly and a couple a poor pastries (quality), it was a good first visit, and we all would come back when near a location.

We were warmly welcomed when we entered. The inside had an old fashioned vibe, with large black and white checkered floors and a few sofa fountains for making old fashioned ice cream sodas. They sell Mitchell's ice cream from San Francisco and offered a variety of flavors. They also had a lovely display of cookies, cinnamon rolls and muffin tops and a refrigerated case filled with delicious looking pies. The pies and goodies are made in house. The pies are what caught our eye. They came in a 3" bite size and a 5" size that would be perfect for sharing. The varieties of pies they offered were: Key Lime Pie, Banana Cream Pie, Chocolate Cream Pie, Pecan Pie, Dutch Apple and Mixed Berry. They also sell coffees, fountain drinks, sandwiches and salads. You can also get an ice cream sundae, floats, ice cream sodas and Italian sodas. Since we were having dinner next door, I asked if could buy the pieces and have them kept in their refrigerator until after we had our dinner. They had no problem with that. We decided to order the 5" Key Lime Pie, the 5" Banana Cream Pie and the 5" Mixed Berry Pie. We came back after dinner and they had our pies ready for us to eat. All three pies were amazing. They were so good. My favorite was the Key Lime Pie and my husband loved the Mixed Berry Pie. The Banana Cream Pie was delicious, as well, and had chunks of fresh banana in it. We haven't had good pie like this in a while. We were blown away at how good they were. I definitely will return for more pies, the next time I'm in the area.
