So sad. I've come here for over 15 years. This was my go to place for coffee and dessert until recently. I just went in for pie and coffee about 2:00 pm. The only thing they offered was a small precut piece (not even a slice) of Dutch apple pie) .but no coffee. The server had such a bad attitude about getting me a slice of pie. Too bad, it's hard to watch the demise of one of the few premier laces for bakery goods in the area. Better to go to Buttercup up Ygnacio. This is by far my favorite bakery in the Bay Area! The chocolate chip cookies are to die for and their cakes are fabulous! I had them make my cake for our wedding earlier this year and it was perfection! Highly recommend a sweet affair for lunch as well. My go to is their Greek salad. The portion sizes are really good!! Yum, yum, yum! My family has been eating at Sweet Affair for years which makes it such a treat whenever I'm in town now. A few quick notes before i get into this review any further. 1. If you get the Turkey Cranberry sandwich add sprouts for a dollar extra...trust me 2. They do not take orders over the phone! Go into the store or place your order ahead of time online. The inside is covered in nostalgic old school signs and knick knacks it's super neat. They have a small market type area with local goods, jams, pastas and honeys. The front display cases are full of delicious pastries and treats. The cookies are killer & the carrot cake slices are super moist with cream cheese frosting that isn't too sweet. The bread here is the BEST! I typically get the Turkey Cranberry (added sprouts) on the multigrain bread that's rolled in sunflower seeds. It is seriously SO good. Today I was feeling like something new and tried the Ham sandwich with added green peppers and pickles on a french roll. The french roll was so soft and fresh with a nice crust. Best bakery in the East Bay. We found this because it's close to our swim academy and I have ordered their mini cupcakes for my kids' birthday parties for the past few years from this business. If you pay cash you can avoid their extra fee. Delicious baked goods and cupcakes. Their cinnamon sugar loaf is really yummy but bad for your waistline, as is all the stuff at the bakery, to be honest. Service is always nice and helpful. Their new dining area in the back is so nice. I've had their salads and sandwiches also which are delicious. read more

I was hesitant to go here for our lunch meeting today as I have had unbelievably awful experiences at the other Ygnacio location, from incorrect orders to confrontational employees without common sense or courtesy. What this spot lacks in atmosphere and location it makes up for with a competent staff without language barriers and resentful attitude. The food was much fresher and not stale with miserly portions. Wow - so disappointed. I have not been here in years, but stopped in today because I was nearby. Ordered a caesar salad and bowl of tomato soup. How hard is that? I rec'd the tiniest salad with about three croutons - zero dressing - wilted lettuce that was black on the edges in some spots and some kind of red chili soup with potatoes? I have been coming here since they opened and I honestly love everything about this place! When you walk in, the staff is so friendly and greets you right away. The scent of all their baked goods makes you feel all warm and fuzzy and you can't help but be drawn in. They have a gorgeous display of all their treats, and i love how it's baked fresh daily. Their bread is way better than any store-brand you could get and their cinnamon pillow is a MUST try! I've had their breakfast sandwich, regular sandwich and their salads. It's so hard to pick just one favorite. I will say that their Chinese Chicken Salad is my all time favorite. And I don't even like salads that much. But I will eat it over and over and over again. This is one of my favorite sandwich shops in Walnut Creek. The size of their foods can be eaten for lunch and dinner. My favorite salad with them is the Chinese Chiken salad, so simple yet so good. The sandwiches changed my life. So good. The plain white bread is somehow magical and fluffy. Cookies are all so good but I'd have to say the macadamias is the best. Staff is really sweet and there are spots to sit inside or outside. Will definitely make this a regular spot! read more

Always an easy and good option when visiting this office area. Very friendly and nice staff. Good quality and portions for price.

So excited about this place!!! Our office catered lunch from them and everything was really good! We had a variety of salads and sandwiches and a couple soups. I ended up going in after to check it out and they also have pastries and coffee! Everything is freshly baked daily and it's super convenient as it's a 5 min walk from the office. They also have a section with baked goods that are a day old (still super fresh) for a discounted price! Can't wait to order again!! read more

I love me a good sandwich, so I was pretty excited when I found out this spot was right across the street from my apartment (literally a 3 min walk!) Their chicken sandwich...yum! Their turkey sandwich...double YUM! Their freshly baked cookies are also delicious and to top it off, service is always great (and most importantly, consistent!). A Sweet Affair's food is so fresh and tasty. Their location within my office complex is so convenient that I find myself popping in for breakfast or lunch at couple of times a week. Their muffins and breakfast sandwiches are the perfect options in the morning. For lunch, I love any of the sandwiches on their fresh baked bread. I also love buying a whole loaf and taking it home for the family to enjoy. I'm so excited for the weather to get warm so I can enjoy lunch on the patio outside. read more
