Yum, yum, yum! My family has been eating at Sweet Affair for years which makes it such a treat whenever I'm in town now. A few quick notes before i get into this review any further. 1. If you get the Turkey Cranberry sandwich add sprouts for a dollar extra...trust me 2. They do not take orders over the phone! Go into the store or place your order ahead of time online. The inside is covered in nostalgic old school signs and knick knacks it's super neat. They have a small market type area with local goods, jams, pastas and honeys. The front display cases are full of delicious pastries and treats. The cookies are killer & the carrot cake slices are super moist with cream cheese frosting that isn't too sweet. The bread here is the BEST! I typically get the Turkey Cranberry (added sprouts) on the multigrain bread that's rolled in sunflower seeds. It is seriously SO good. Today I was feeling like something new and tried the Ham sandwich with added green peppers and pickles on a french roll. The french roll was so soft and fresh with a nice crust. Much love for Sweet Affair!

Best bakery in the East Bay. We found this because it's close to our swim academy and I have ordered their mini cupcakes for my kids' birthday parties for the past few years from this business. If you pay cash you can avoid their extra fee. Delicious baked goods and cupcakes. Their cinnamon sugar loaf is really yummy but bad for your waistline, as is all the stuff at the bakery, to be honest. Service is always nice and helpful. Their new dining area in the back is so nice. I've had their salads and sandwiches also which are delicious.

Very spacious and more seating area. Very clean!

I have been coming here since they opened and I honestly love everything about this place! When you walk in, the staff is so friendly and greets you right away. The scent of all their baked goods makes you feel all warm and fuzzy and you can't help but be drawn in. They have a gorgeous display of all their treats, and i love how it's baked fresh daily. Their bread is way better than any store-brand you could get and their cinnamon pillow is a MUST try! I've had their breakfast sandwich, regular sandwich and their salads. It's so hard to pick just one favorite. I will say that their Chinese Chicken Salad is my all time favorite. And I don't even like salads that much. But I will eat it over and over and over again. Maryann is amazing, she is so sweet and is always a pleasure talking to. I love that she remembers me and my go-to orders since I'm there so much lol.

This is one of my favorite sandwich shops in Walnut Creek. The size of their foods can be eaten for lunch and dinner. My favorite salad with them is the Chinese Chiken salad, so simple yet so good. The service is excellent as the people that work there are always nice and respectful. Definitely would go back again.

    Fresh cookies daily!

Love this place!!! Everything is made from scratch, and super fresh! This location just re-opened and the staff is awesome. Mariann is the best and always makes me laugh! The Chinese Chicken Salad is the best! Their breakfast sandwiches are super yummy too! Def my go to! Their cookies are amazing and their bread is delicious!

Such a gem in the Bay Area. So happy the kids took this over and they not only make great amazing cakes but their Sandwiches are the best.

I honestly can no longer give the shop a 5-star review…read more While their cupcakes are still really good and I can give stars for good cupcakes, I have to lower the rating for customer service because I recently had a really challenging time trying to order a cake from the Walnut Creek branch. Receiving a texted coupon for 15% off my order, I was excited to use it since I needed a birthday cake. Though there was an online code, I could not use the discount online. I called the shop several times, but there was no answer, and I even left a voice message but never heard a call back. Finally I noticed there was number on the website to text so I did, and got a response. The response was that it was too late to order the cake, and the coupon couldn't be used online ordering system because the online ordering system was different from what was used in the store. BUT I was told I can still call my order in and pay in advance over the phone to get the 15% discount if I still wanted cupcakes, and if the store didn't answer, the person sending the text said he/she would contact the store. I appreciated that kind gesture. The next morning, I settled for cupcakes and decided to call the order in and pick up the cupcakes in the afternoon since I had no time that morning to go to the store. But lo and behold, I called and again no one answered. I texted the same number from the day before and a response came back that they would contact the store to give me a call. I checked in by calling the store two more times and still no answer. And no one called back that afternoon either. Sadly, I had to give up, but was glad to give business to a way more responsive bakery with delicious cakes.

I say it all the time in my reviews. I've had access to a plethora of coffee and matcha industry. And wherever I am on the globe, I always look for these shops during our adventures. Milly & Illian. My gosh. So welcoming. So proud of the shop, its products and their leadership. I hope the owners know. First timer here and I spent $52. Readers: the $52 was completely worth it as soon as we took a bite of the passion fruit mochi. Heaven sent. It's akin to Kailua's Bits & Bites on Oahu. Please don't ever close. Please stay open longer. This is the first time I've tried this after wanting to visit for so many years. I work full time andddd I live in 707 so it's a little bit of a trek out here. Orrrrr consider bringing this to 707- I would recommend Benicia if you are familiar with first street. You'd kill it here! I want to bring it back to my guys Milly and Illian. I'm big big big on energy and customer service and you both broughttttt it. Being 38 when I visit these very trendy IG worthy spots, I'm usually disappointed- if not by the coffee or dessert, most definitely by the customer service. Read all my reviews, it's my first comment usually. To the owners reading this, seriously give a shout out to these lovlies. They started my day on the right foot. Xoxo Can't wait to see what you bring back from Taiwan (see the guys shared where you are- sure to make the matcha and mochi shop even cooler). I'll come back soon! Kathleen

Service was very friendly. They do sell some company merch here. We ordered the jouraku matcha latte with oat milk. We also ordered several of their bakery items including a guava donut, buko pandan donut, mochi banana pudding, and black sesame mochi muffin. I think the donuts are the star here! They are soft and chewy, not too sweet. The flavors are pretty accurate as well for the donuts. The mochi banana pudding was unique, and enjoyable! They did recommend heating up for 1 minute, but you can probably get away with much less time than that. The black sesame mochi muffin was pretty average. The jouraku matcha latte was average; couldn't really taste much of the matcha notes, but it had more matcha flavor than some other cafes. Overall, this was a unique bakery and I would totally come back!

The line moved too quick I wish i couldve have more time to decide so i ended up getting more than I wanted. Although everything was pleasant our favorite was the Flan Vanille and the tuna sandwiches. The Flan vanille is my new favorite dessert going forward. I know it was a busy day and the staff was busy with the orders and service making tables available however they could improve in checking their bathroom and trash bins. All bins were too full even one by the counter. We notice that the staff continously wiping the counter but didnt notice the overflowing trash bin.
