Very busy, need to sign your name on the waitlist first, the parking a lot is full so I have to walk a bit further, they share the parking lot with CVS and El Super. I went there after my appt from Kaiser just across the street. Come in so hungry and ordered fried egg roll, combination pho no 1 and beef fried rice. It was slow at first but later they were busy since 2 more parties came in. Egg rolls is great, we devoured it within minutes. The combination pho came not long after and also tastes fresh and great. Decent portion on the meat. However, my order which is the beef fried rice not come together with the soup; I actually wait about a good 20 mins to 30 mins after. They serve food and appetizers to both parties that came way after me. After a while the fried rice came and it's a bit on the bland side; we add salt and pepper. The portion of the meat is great. They have gone through some positive changes through this time, and because of that, Fontana Pho is my new favorite. They have updated their interior since I have last been here. It is very nice! Much nicer than the Pho Ha in the Aldi's shopping center. The workers here are quick and efficient in taking and serving orders. They speak and understand good English. I do not feel like I have to speak Vietnamese to get good service here nor do I worry about requests getting "lost in translation." Moreover, the Pho is just hands down FABULOUS! This is THE viet spot to come to in Fontana. The only down side is how crowded it gets at the entrance, I think they should have a better check in system for patrons. I have always wanted to try pho. My boyfriend finally took me to have some. This is the spot for him. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, clean and simple. We arrived at 6. There a few people in the restaurant. We were quickly seated by the server and given menus. I took my time to look through the menu. My boyfriend got the seafood pho. Everything few seconds, a different server were asked if we were ready to order. I started giggling when the sever came up to ask again. She said oh it's ok if you're not ready yet. The food is delicious! I have been here several times with friends, and the noodles are always really yummy. The wait staff is very attentive and helpful. The place has an overall laid-back atmosphere and is a great place for a casual lunch. Portions are also HUGE, and you will definitely leave satisfied! I ordered the No. 5 (Tofu Springs Rolls) and the No. 15 (Pho Chay) - the lettuce in the Spring Rolls was brown, and after two bites; I knew that the "crunch" taste was more like a dirty taste from the lettuce not being cleaned properly. And the Pho Chay, the vegetables were dirty (again, you could see the dirt / dark spots on them) and the fried onions on top had a very off smell to them . I did my best to clean them off and pick off all the onions in order to salvage the meal since I had spent so much money - but couldn't, and ended up tossing it all. My favorite place for pho! They honestly have the most delicious broth and I have yet to find a place that does it better. Their fried shrimp rolls are always a must, as well as the avocado smoothie! The restaurant is located in a large strip mall, and the parking can be a little difficult sometimes The restaurant itself is fairly small but we've never had to wait for a seat, and the service is always quick! Their menu is pretty large and although I have never ordered anything other than pho, I have heard good things from other friends who have tried their plate options. We ordered two items: the Hu tieu and the pork vermicelli dish. Generally at other pho places, this dish would not take more than 10-15 minutes to come out. I've been coming to Fontana Pho for almost 10 years, when they were half the size. We got so excited when they made the location larger. We always supported this place because of their service, price and good food. Today however is a different story. This young "male" server stated taking our order and walked away when we weren't done. Then he served our food, and just walked away. We didn't think it was any of our plates so he took it away. Then our friend realized that was his plate so my boyfriend asked the guy for the plate back. This young kid said, "You all said that was no one's food, so I took it away. Just go to hell!" My boyfriend kept following him asking him, "What did you say? Did you just tell me to go to hell? I've never been treated this way here before. How can you tell me that and I'm a customer?" Finally, he rudely came back and returned the plate. I asked the young girl that's been working there (with glasses) to make sure he not serve us. She just finished serving us our food and they never came back. No refills on water, no to go containers, no service. The 2 employees were just laughing at us the whole time. With no service, I got up to ask for a "to go" container. I asked the first guy for his name but he wouldn't give it to me. I asked him, "why won't you give me your name? Oh because you know I'm going to leave a review with your name all over it." A worker in the back asked me what happened so I told him the story. The young guy jumped in and said he never told us to "Go to hell." Why would we make up such a horrendous story? My boyfriend pulled the manager and told him the story too. He wanted to give us our food for free but we wanted to pay and just get out of there. Too bad because this use to be one of our favorite places in Fontana but with this service, we won't be coming back. If I'm paying for my food, I'm not going to put up with bad customer service.
