    Gluten-free sourdough loaf
    Adam W.

Just opened up yesterday! I'm excited because they offer a number of vegan options. Everything is gluten free. The donut you see here is a bit messy but I can't tell you how amazing the maple syrup smells and how thick and Rich the chocolate icing is. Absolutely delicious. It is $5 but is worth it. They also have a range of cookies and other items. I noticed this sourdough loaf (more like a boule) and the manager offered to sell me half a loaf as the price of $20 seems a bit heavy. It is incredibly moist and the crust is perfection. It is a bit chewy as you would expect from gluten-free but the sourdough fragrance is off the charts. The store is neat and small but to me is already better than modern bread up the street. Welcome to the neighborhood.

Not a fan of cake donuts. Being gluten free, I want something like the fluffy donuts we can't have.

We love coming here for the terrific service and awesome food!…read more The night we came with a friend we had a star sighting. Yes. The food is that noteworthy that you can be seated next to a very young blonde academy award nominee and leave as full one can get on pad thai, and their signature fried eggplant. I feel bad giving 3 stars, because I seem to be in the minority here but as a vegetarian that…read moreappreciates good zesty food and good-decent prices, I must be honest. Pros: + Good service + Clean place + Lots of vegetarian and vegan options + The Thai Fried Chicken was delicious and balanced! + Food presentation was excellent Cons: - Food was dry. - The Endive Cups were dense and needed some sauce. - The Mung Bean Croquette - although not bad - felt more like a fast food item; it too was dry and although the sauce and presentation were nice, it's not something to re-order. - The Meang Kham wasn't bad either, I appreciated the different flavors but for the price - as an appetizer - no. - The biggest negative were the prices. They were set as upscale, and fine dining, but the place was just average and the foods - at least what we ordered - not that good. Granted there were many options and the others might have been better, but I get the feeling this place is more about the food presentation rather than the quality of the food focused. For ~$100 (3 appetizers and 1 main entree) I left somewhat hungry. I feel there are hole-in-the wall vegan/vegetarian places that would be much better. It's a nice place but it's more show than substance (given the costs). 3.5/5

My go to is the Seoul bowl it's so good and perfectly marinated while still being health conscious 5/5. The newer tikka masala has been a fav lately- it's veggie based but the spices and flavor are on point, just as delicious as a non-vegan dish! I think with soy meat it could be even better, I'll see if that's an option next time, but this was 4.5/5. West coast shrimp side is really satisfying and savory. I rly should try more items here but it's hard to deviate from my favs haha. |[ s i p ]| Drinks are also decent but the star for me here is the food. I really look forward to more new food items to come. |[ n o t e s ]| Parking lot is small and kinda hit or miss but it's worth it. :) Ambiance- cute brunch spot while still health conscious.

While I am not at all vegan, it can be a fantastic change of pace when trying a cuisine that is not at all my regular routine. Happily, Variable has tons of choices, and we loved what we got. I was drawn towards the 'N Seoul Bowl' (Korean spicy plant based pork, house marinated Kimchi, organic edamame, steamed organic spinach, carrot, steamed broccoli, onion , organic shiitake, topped with green onion and sesame seeds and side organic quinoa). So good, a bit spicy, and so many flavors on the plate it was impossible to not only love it, but I could not finish it, either. That goes from all their dishes. They are big, and in our experience, it came out piping hot soon after ordering it. My companion tried the 'Indian Tikka Masala' (homemade Indian curry, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, yellow squash, potatoes, cabbage, chickpea, micro green, Served with blend wild Jasmin rice and Indian Flat Bread). Tastes so fresh, hearty, with just enough of a kick to it. I look forward to trying some of their other dishes, too. The burger that the table near us ordered looked fantastic. I gotta think that everything here is pretty dang great.

What we ordered: + Chaga chai: Basically hot coffee with chai but much stronger earthy taste with the turmeric. A good spin on the usual and oat milk optional if you find it too strong. + Crispy mushroom hand roll: 1 each and this was a bit hard to eat without making a mess on your hands. If you like crunchy mushrooms, this is nice but a pass for me. + Spicy salmon hand roll: This is a fun one where you make your own hand roll. It's a February special. + Dragon: My favorite of all the sushi. This tastes the closest to real sushi because of the unagi sauce and I liked the slight chewy texture of the tempura inside. + Pressed & torched: If you like truffle sauce, this is a win but I'm less of a fan of how mushy/soft the rice is. Warm melted avocado is nice though. Parking was easy with street parking or valet. Street parking is metered for $2/hour but you can only pay one hour at a time. Set your alarms if you need more time.
