I do like the grocery store for grocery items(excluding the fresh bread they make which is shameful) but the café inside the store is terrible. I have gotten food poisoning twice in the last three months. And the food is mediocre at best. And very expensive for what you get. Crazy busy for off season in June in Florida. Lines for everything. It was lunch time. Noon/1pm we were there. Everything is organic. They have a cafe for food and desserts. They have some gluten free options. We had the bunny wrap. Raw and vegan. Lettuce leaf, sprouts, avocado, tomato, cucumber, and a cashew vegan cheese mayo. No sides. Sides are a la carte. It was delicious! The juices and smoothies are at a separate counter and taste amazing! I highly recommend this place. Great place to go for a light lunch or some coffee..breakfast looks great too, just haven't had a chance to try it yet! The menu is not very big, but the stuff I've tried has been great, and everything is very fresh! They have great coffee for a reasonable price and free refills, plus they use coffee ice cubes which I LOVE! Definitely recommend trying this place out! Really nice grocery store with some delicious Pre-made grab and go options along with a wonderful cafe with a changing casual menu. The grocery itself is fairly small and awkwardly layed out as the cash registers create a bottle neck with incoming and exiting customers. I've passed this place several times and I always say I'm going to stop Into that grocery store, lil' food spot etc. I finally did and I was rewarded with yummy, yummy, goodness in my tummy!! I am a vegetarian who created several food restrictions on myself, which is just agonizing when I go out to eat. I finally found a menu I can play pin the tail on the donkey with! Every option looks amazing, is organic, and all the frees you can think of. Listen up my gf, vf, sf etc, etc. I settled on the live pad Thai (zoodles) so freaking yummy. Big portion etc. I also sampled the lentil soup and vegetable soup. I preferred the lentil to the veggie but both were good. (Little cold) but we were outside. ‍ the food came very fast and they have the cutest outside area. Very relaxing atmosphere. This may be my new fave lunch spot. I can't wait to actually shop in the grocery store (at a quick glance had a decent selection.) the juice bar looked like it needs to be on my hit list next time. I used to love coming to this place to get my daily groceries and lunch but after an incident that I went through on Sep-10-2020 around 4:50. I will never come back here. I bought a lasagna and a salad to eat for dinner and while I was waiting for my food I was trying to see if I got the right cheese for my salad so I went to ask one of the workers that were in the back cooking and she was eating something out of a cup with her fingers and when she noticed me she just wiped her fingers on her apron and didn't even wash her hands!! She asked to see the cheese And I told her no because she licked her fingers and didn't wash her hands and it was the last one and she just laughed at me . I never ate my food when I received it because I can't imagine what type of dirty food they serve. Shame on this business! We were here two years ago and absolutely loved it for the organic groceries and amazing food. However, upon arriving today, they have absolutely no Covid precautions in place whatsoever. Not a single employee was wearing a mask and they even have a sign on the door as to why people shouldn't have to wear masks. We felt very uncomfortable and turned around and left. Sadly I was actually in Naples from out of town due to the loss of a direct family member's funeral due to Covid. Before leaving town I came to food and thought since a friend picked it and we were APPALLED nobody had masks or gloves handling the food, not even in the kitchen! I was thoroughly disgusted. This place clearly doesn't take Covid seriously and for being a place that claims to care about healthy eating and living, clearly the last thing they care about is public health! First off, let me say, I like flavor. Okay, now that we got that out of the way... if you want flavor, don't get their salad dressing. It is yellow, tastes like oil, and has absolutely no flavor. None. No garlic, not spices, nothing. Oil. This place is extremely underwhelming. Also, bought a chicken salad wrap. The must have about 2 TEASPOONS of chicken salad on the wrap. I ordered extra stuff on the wrap and it didn't come with it. This place looks clean, the staff is nice, but it's overpriced, small servings, flavorless food. Also, If you care about the environment, DO NOT SHOP HERE. I was appalled to see their support of Rick Scott after just seeing a dead dolphin on the beach today in Naples. I have shopped at this store before covid and loved the whole organic concept and freshness of the produce. I just returned to Naples after a 5 absence. The store has been renovated to feel much more open with more light - it was lovely. However, I was stunned when I realized that none of the staff were wearing masks and most of the customers were not wearing masks either. There were no protective screens at check out so being close to the unmasked cashier made me extremely uncomfortable. Let me start by saying I actually adored this store. I've been frequenting it for many years (since about 2006) and have watched it change and grow tremendously over the last few years. It provides ample amount of organic produce and groceries, has a wide variety of health, beauty and wellness products and I can't speak highly enough about the food counter. Before going gluten free, the holy yamoli was my favorite sandwich in the world! What an amazing combination of ingredients. Their salads are also tasty as are any of the vegan prepared dishes I have tried. My 3 stars is a measurement of customer service, which in my eyes should be the number 1 focus for any retail establishment. Having worked in management myself (in a health food store up North), I know just how important it is that customers feel acknowledged, heard and listened to. If the customers aren't happy, your store will suffer. I feel there must be a lack of communication or interest in the current management due to a recent event I experienced: My family and I visited the store almost a month ago (we don't live in Naples anymore) and we bought a couple of vegan desserts called "Peppermint Patty Bites". They are labelled as "vegan and raw". I ate mine that evening and then looked at the ingredient list. Honey is a part of that list and as most people know, honey is NOT a vegan ingredient. How on earth this slipped through the hands of ever person involved in the label design, packaging and stocking of this product is beyond me. I thought of calling that night but I didn't. I waited a day until we got back home and sent a pleasant email informing them that they had mislabeled a food product and asking for a response. I didn't hear back. So I wrote on their FB wall- nothing. I sent a second email but it is unfortunate to say I have not gotten a response. This, in my humble opinion, is a perfect example of terrible customer service and management. Who is reading the emails and customer complaints, comments and compliments? Obviously no one. Or, whoever is reading them just doesn't care to write back. I'm a little disheartened about this and have mixed feelings about returning to the store next time we are in town. read more

I have been consistently pleased with the quality of the food at food & thought. I consider it one of the only places in town to do "health food" right. They have a very diverse menu which changes from day to day. I like their rotisserie chicken and when they have vegetable lasagna. The cheese is fresh and delicious. The seating inside can be limited, but they have a lot of outdoor seating, and they also have additional seating in the adjacent building. Very low-maintenance, causal dining experience and its great for vegetarian diners. I cannot recommend this place enough, especially to my friends who like true food or the bowl. read more

I venture to look at menu which was exited abou,t but honestly this is one of the most dull menus i have ever seen. Anybody can put hummus and sprouts and avocado on bread Their salads so boring. Not enough creative cuisine. Most importantly, was the quality of the service. I asked the snooty cafe girls what kind of iced tea they had, and they stared at me devoid of humanity. "Hmm what do you mean?" Well i said i am wanting iced mint or green tea or something. "no only black tea" they shortly responded. Okay please please please if you are going to be claiming to be healthy cafe and are in very hot climate, you must offer more than one iced tea. I recommend mighty leaf morrocan mint for example which even second cup at mercato will HAPPILY brew for me. Finally, i was going to buy some BRAGSS LIQUID aminos because i needed it , but the shopping experience is cramped and smelly and for some odd reason, the sales lady said they dont even carry it despite carrying BRAGGS apple cider, okay this made no sense. WE have tamari she said. NO, its not the same at all. No soy yogurt either. I wish there was a Food & Thought on my corner. On every corner, actually. This place totally blew me away. I consider myself a pretty healthy eater and am constantly seeking restaurants and grocery stores with organic/raw/vegan/vegetarian options (usually unsuccessfully). Food & Thought is everything a concious eater could ask for. I did some grocery shopping here and ordered the food several times, and everything was outstanding. The outdoor seating is suprisingly nice, the staff is really friendly and helpful, the food is high quality and the prices are more than reasonable. Total win. read more

Walked in to pick up a few groceries and a nice healthy dinner to go. (Note, I am writing this review during the early-reopening side of COVID-19.) I noticed something very peculiar. First off, however, I'd like to make mention that I shopped Costco earlier in the day - they require face masks and if you don't have one they will give you one to wear at the door. Then I went to Publix in the Neapolitan Plaza which largely displays a sign asking customers to "Please Wear Masks." Which now brings me to Food & Thought. When I looked around, every one of the employees - from the front of the grocery store, grocery clerks and cashiers, down through the juice bar and all the way through to the back of the kitchen: Only ONE employee was wearing a mask! (He was one of the employees at the juice bar.) The customers inside the restaurant/market were ALL wearing masks. I said hello to a customer near me and mentioned how I just noticed that no employees were wearing a mask. She replied, "Yes, I just noticed that too. I had my first visit this week to Food and thought and I was truly amazed. The organic produce is plentiful and impressive. The juice bar was awesome and definitely a reason in itself to check out this place. The variety of the vitamins and supplements was unbelievable and the service was excellent all around. Food and service were both good. Very comfortable place. Each time we were there, we went to order our food and the waiters would bring it outside to our table. Anything that we asked to be heated a little bit in the microwave was no problem for them. Their cold fruit drinks were wonderful. I was a little worried coming to the place, not because of the quality, but because of the reviews on customer service (which is always just as important as the food for me). I am happy to say both our beverages and the customer service was right on! I ordered the green machine juice and an almond milk latte. I watched as they made the juice all from fresh vegetables. And I really liked all the sugar choices (coconut, palm, cane) and creamer choices (non-dairy, organic, soy, etc). Words can not describe the deliciousness to be had at this little gem of a restaurant attached to a fabulous grocery store! I am vegan, my friend a carnivore. We ate here on vacation a couple months ago. We both ordered the raw lasagna and it was truly the best lasagna I have ever tasted! We both loved it! It came with a beautiful salad that had a tasty raspberry vinaigrette that complimented the lasagna. Wow this place is busy! There's a lively hustle and bustle through the entire store/restaurant counter. The flow doesn't work for me, you couldn't mix your coffee without someone bumping into you, or getting in someones way. With that said, it obviously has a large following. Their ingredients are incredibly fresh but I found everything the be extremely bland. I definitely feel this is just my personal opinion and the restaurant shouldn't be faulted for it. There is a nice outdoor seating area that gives you a little more breathing room and on a nice day a great seating option. This place is not my cup of tea but if you're looking for fresh organic ingredients maybe you should give in a try. read more

I ordered your Raw Special, Lasagna, and your Vegan Pineapple Coconut Cake. The cake was just amazing, so moist and flavorful. I had to order coffee with it, for the full experience.
