Came for the first time a couple weeks ago. Chicken nuggets were over cooked. Fried pickles were ok. Tacos were actually pretty good. Was hoping to order a few more items but food was really greasy and it made me full fast. Was really loud while eating, they also sat us at the table right under the speakers for the tvs playing football. Something I did appreciate was the paper towel roll they keep on the table. I have waited 3 weeks to comment just to be sure of how we felt . It was our 2nd time going for the 5.99 hamburger special on Mondays. Half way thru our meal my husband found a screw in his French fries. We asked for the manager. After showing him the screw he looked at us as though we had brought the screw in ourselves. He takes the screw and leaves. 15-20 minutes later he returns saying it had fallen out of the potato slicer. Never apologizes but asks what we wanted him to do. We stated we would like our meal paid for. He said he would but not our drinks (2). We were surprised he would not include our drinks but agreed. He leaves and after not seeing him or our waitress for another 15 minutes we went to the front desk asking for service. Eventually our waitress showed up with our adjusted bill, we paid and left never to return. It's a shame as it was convenient to walk there for a meal. read more

Best expression martini around. The bar tender was super friendly. But The waitress was on a different planet. Either she was drunk on just didn't care. Nothing super wow about the place but it was good. TV's line the ceiling. Service was attentive and friendly. Had a burger and fries. The food was good. Burger was tasty. The burger patty wasn't small but I thought it would be a little thicker. Nothing fancy about it. Just a simple burger. Fries are ordered on the side. A single order is pretty big. They were cooked to perfection...crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. They were seasoned with more than salt, perhaps a Creole type seasoning. They were delicious! Absolutely horrible experience- the bartender, I think her name was Lori was terrible. When me and me friend came to get dinner and drinks as soon as we sat down she seemed bothered to serve us, had an attitude the whole time and audibly told her friend sitting at the bar that she f**** hated making the drink I had ordered. I was friendly and attempted starting a conversation and she looked at me and ignored what I said just asked if I needed anything else. We downed our drinks and left to get food somewhere else because we did not want to give her our money. Food is very consistent. Full bar with tasty cocktails. The fried pickles are very good along with the buffalo Mac and cheese. Mondays they have a burger and fries special that is totally worth the money. Sometimes the service is less than ideal however the manager is always running around helping out where needed and visible. We went for lunch and my husband had the hatch chili cheeseburger and I had the cheesesteak sandwich. Both were very good. We also had their fries but we don't care for fresh cut fries so they were just ok. The service was good and the setting was nice. The one reason we would not go back is the Music. It was heavy metal and not appropriate for the dining area or the age of the clientele. Change the music and we'll be happy to frequent your restaurant again. read more

Really a 3 1/2 star to date. This is a follow up review. Things have gotten better. While menu is not the broadest, everthing we've had to date has been good or very good. However, my review falls from a 4 star to 3 1/2 star (I defaulted higher) due to food portion sizes. The mahi sandwich (well above average in flavor/taste) is an extraordinarily small filet. Competition has a bigger piece of fish for sure. I'm still hungry for more the last three times I've had it. The cheeseteak (also quite good) is very small. Given that sides are a la carte (e.g., $4.50 adder for fries!), it can get a bit high priced here. I've grown on the atmosphere (my first kind of "beef" in an earlier review)...though still lacks much privacy between tables, that's for sure. I'll return. I mostly like the place overall, and service is also above average. Just wish they could address some of these concerns. read more

Big disappointment. Went with the You Jel burger and it basically sucked. First, a $15 + burger that does NOT come with fries is absolutely ridiculous. Also asked for cook level of medium rare and burger came out overdone and dry (and they were definitely not busy). Burger was also very small for $15 and did not even have Jalepenos on it. Another noisy sports bar. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it was so salty that I could barely eat it. They must want you to order more beer. My wife ordered a Diet Coke which was not diet. had dinner at this great restaurant last week. Our burgers were cooked to perfection, and the fries were perfect. Our waiter was very friendly and efficient. Although we didn't have any of the beer selections, they were extensive. And we will come back for that. The day we were there the place was packed. It's great to see a successful restaurant in Venice. I would also like to mention that Mike Williams is a generous supporter of a Loveland Center in Venice. Really enjoyed our meal here. Busy (so lots of good reviews) but only waited 10 min (were told 20). Service was great, meals came quickly and as ordered. Hubby had a burger which he liked, but thought it was a bit 'thin', I had the cheesesteak which also could have been more plump (I cut off a quarter of my roll to make it fuller) Disappointed that the main sandwiches came with no sides (fries pickles etc). The best bet is a Narragansett draft beer all day for $3 Will def return. Only reason not 5* is... it's still just a great gastro pub. I keep 5* in my pocket for gourmet high end foodie spots. But I was unimpressed with the service - - they forgot our fries and then brought them out after we were pretty much done with our sandwiches.
