Probably the worst food city in Pigeon Forge. Nobody is happy and show it everyday. I consistently visit to purchase energy drinks and Carmel popcorn my wife loves. The person "G" who manages your popcorn operation might be the second coming of Medusa. I told him how my wife loves the Carmel popcorn and I didn't care how much it cost I wanted a larger bag. His response? "No" and just turned away. I felt stoned, ignored and humiliated so I've taken my business elsewhere where. I stopped here around 11:40pm on a Tuesday night to get some disposable pans to bake cookies and dish detergent to wash dishes as I was visiting from out of town. This store reminds of a store called Harris Teeter from where I'm from (NC). This store was the only grocery store open until midnight. Walmart still closes at 11pm. What I thought was interesting was that they had live lobsters. It reminded me of old Walmart days, lol. The store was mostly empty. They were in the middle of restocking as well, as there were boxes everywhere on the aisles. I did find what I was looking for. They have a rewards/membership program that give you a cheaper price. They have a pharmacy, deli, bakery, and Starbucks inside. They made announcements of closing at 11:45, 11:50, and 11:50. They made it clear that you had to be checked out by midnight. I checked out via self checkout. I don't believe any regular registers were open. Overall, not bad. I did wish there was the option to sign up for their program via checking out. read more

Heard a warning from the FDA about some cheese possibly having metal shavings-if you have it, take it back to the store. I had 3 bags of the cheese. First the lady in customer service told me i had to go to Walmart-even tho it was not their brand. I told her it was not Walmart brand. she took my food city card and looked up my past receipts. She said she did not see the cheese on my receipts so she could not give me my money back.I asked her if the cheese was the correct lot number and she didnt even look. she clearly didnt care. This was a possible health hazard. I feel the store should have taken the cheese back. This lady was very rude-basically said my only choice was to throw it away. It amazes me that Food City management cared so little for a customer that spends a lot of money there over $15.00 dollars worth of cheese. Guess i wont be shopping at this store anymore. read more

Buyer beware check every product you buy as this store has a lot of expired food on the shelf. I just went to bake a Mrs. Smith Dutch apple pie pulled it out of the box saw something under the packaging looked at the expiration date 11/30/2024. This isn't the first time we've seen expired food in the store, first time was a package of pepperoni. This was my go to store when I don't feel like driving over to Publix. read more

This is a very nice and well organized Food City. The salad bay looked fresh. There were also a cold wing bar and a soup bar. The produce section was neat and well stocked. Prices were on the high side. There was also a large selection of take and cook meals and seafood read more

Starbucks in Food City. The $7.00 drinks not filled all the way. Maybe 2/3 or 3/4 full. They only carry Peppermint syrup seasonal. They say they are unable to get the product in. The cups taste like cleaning agent /soap. Cannot drink the coffee. It tastes toxic like chemicals. I have complained and nothing is done about it. They act like I am bothering them. read more

I visited from Memphis, and we needed a few items for the rental property during our honeymoon. Living where I do, I have a myriad of grocery options available to me, and didn't expect much of this relatively small town grocery. Was I ever wrong!! They had everything on our list, save one pharmacy item, and some kitchen supplies (colander). They even had Manchego cheese and prosciutto, pre-cut veggies and fruits, burger fixins to go, and a super butcher. They also had a lot of varieties of our favorite Duke's mayo, which I had to photograph. The prices were fair, and all of the staff wore their masks correctly. My wife & I were Food City customers since they were located down town Sevierville, and I have continued shopping there after her passing in 2001. I have a debit card from my checking account @ SmartBank. My card is accepted everywhere I've used it except Foot City check-out. It's even accepted at Food City Gas-N-Go pumps, but not at the store check-out. Sometimes the clerk will manually enter my card numbers & have me sign a screen at the card reader, but I usually end up having to write a check. I seems to me that the store manager could see that their card readers could be synchronized with my debit card. Seems I shouldn't have to write a check when I have a current debit card. Have no idea how this store made the list of 'most in-expensive' grocery store - it's NOT. I was just noticing their higher prices on most items the other day... I will say their wine prices are fairly good however and lower than Kroger's wines. I usually shop Aldi's first (love that store) then Kroger even tho' Food City is much closer) as I find their prices better. (and Walmart, even lower but I only shop there occasionaly. read more

I live in the area of Food City on Dolly Parton and need to shop here at least once per week. I dread it! If you are going...please check all items dated as you will always find products out of date and not fresh ( packaged lunch meat, yogurt, etc) Additionally, if you find an item on sale or with a shelf sticker advertising "close out price" - check your receipt carefully as you will not be receiving the sale price as advertised. So very frustrating. Only good area at Food City is their meat department. Meat always fresh and butcher is very helpful. Staff are NOT very friendly and high turn over noticed. Plus...only 2 checkout lines are ever open so you must wait in line forever to be checked out. It's worth the trip over to Highway 66 to go to Publix or Kroger. read more

I received exceptional service from the meat department by Marlow. I was looking for a specific cut of meat and he went to the back and cut up some extra since everything else was sold out front. He seems to always be available and willing to help customers if they look like they are struggling with what they are looking for. Very knowledgable and friendly. read more

Really a good store. They have better produce and meat especially, than any Walmart and more health foods. I could imagine the bad rating 2 years ago . That was probably a rare occurrence but believable since i know they don't pay their employees well at all. Still a good place to shop. I went from rating this food city from 4 to 1 stars. I shop here 1 to 2 times a month spending usually over 300$ each time. Today I spent 157$ and debt card to receive 50 cash back. After waiting for the cashier to unload my buggy at a snails pace, I had to pack up my own groceries. Then she did not give me my cash back. I had to go back to the store wait 10 min for them to figure it out and I get no apologies.... nothing...... they are opening a new food city closer to our house. I was at this location around 5pm on the 28th. I had purchased my groceries and decided that I wanted to play one of the claw games they have in the front of the store. I dropped off my purchases in my car and came back with some cash to play. The bill acceptor was full so I decided to go ask for some change at the first register. He had to call the Manager over to open the drawer and I received my change no problems, friendly people. I spent about 5 dollars in the machine and didn't win so I decided to get some more change. The first register was busy so I went to register 5 to a man without a line. He refused to give me change or to call a manager over to open the drawer after I called him out on it. He sent me to the service deck, now this lady I have had rudeness from before but I never left a review. I am leaving this one now because I am fed up. I had 2 dollar bills and asked for change. She scowled and said she would give me change for only one of my dollars!? Excuse me but this is a major company and you are telling me you don't have 4 extra quarters in the building? This is the worst food city in town I frequent the others and the only reason I came to this one is because the others were out of stock of something I needed. I will just do without before I set foot in that rude store ever again. For someone who works at the customer service desk to have such little skill in customer service in one of the "busiest" food city is a poor staffing choice indeed. read more

I LOVE my go-cart service but u scared me with a text saying my order was pending , ...Wrong language. Ur doing this to service ur customers so put it to us That way. Like "substitutions if needed" r on ur FC page". Neither my husband or I had any idea What was going on. Alot of older age ladies ( like myself) are not great & do good to navigate without us knowing whether or not our groceries will be there . I'll learn it but I think u r scaring ladies for no reason except ur wording. The store is great however the road into the parking lot has a very large pot hole which was filled with rain on 2/4/18 and it ruined a brand new tire AND rim on a car with less than 2,000 miles. Never before have I reviewed a grocery store deli food. But the ribs at this Food City are so good I couldn't believe it. My wife and I were in town on vacation staying in a cabin nearby and ran in to grab some groceries. She said get something for dinner. I went and grabbed a rack of ribs, not expecting much. Got them home and dug in...amazingly good. These ribs are as good as anything I've ever had at any bbq joint. They were so good that a couple nights later I had to try them again to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Sure enough, perfect again. I cannot believe the best ribs of my life came from a grocery deli counter, but there you go. read more
