So just because of you having a buggy full , they can refuse not to check you out and send you to lane that had no one at it but the sweet gentleman that finally showed up had no problem checking you out and then literally while you're in the next lane sit there and talk about you in front of you and not just one employee but goes to the next one too nothing was said just said ok and she was totally rude and instead of checking me out, went to bag groceries to talk crap about you real professional I'll drive further out and go to another one and for the other girl sitting there in a handicap chair like to talk to you while your checking out bc you ruined her conversation because you're trying to check out come on food depot do better read more

I stopped in just a grab a couple little things to make for dinner that night. When I got to the registers, they were two lights on, but everybody was at one register so I got into the line for that one and out of the person in front of me finish check it out I walked up. The cashier had bumped her phone or something and I think it might have broke her case. So for a few minutes, she talked about that while I said they're waiting to be rung up and acknowledged. Finally the lady at the register next to her said hey, you have a customer waiting on you, which was me standing there just waiting to be acknowledged. And she kept talking, the guy that was bagging the groceries seem to be a manager and they were just both talking about her, breaking her phone case or whatever. I spoke to her because it did not seem like she was going to speak to me which she still didn't. So she rang me up And didn't tell me what my total was just stood there, so I looked at the screen to see what my total was and checked out. No one said thank you. No one was nice. Customer service was awful. This is not a grocery store that I frequent often but it is on my way home and not far from my house so I will stop in to get things periodically. but the customer service is never really that great. read more

I really don't think I have ever been to a Food Depot quite like this one. First of all it's not made like most Food Depot locations. This one is modernized a bit. Huge automatic doors open up to an even bigger store. It just looks totally different as if this was an old Ingles or something. Immediately to the right is the produce section. Row after row of produce. They even have wagon displays with produce. The next section is the wine section. Let me tell you.....I was sooooooo happy. Like I hit the jackpot. I say this because all my favorite ones were there and they were super cheap. I mean wayyyyyyyyyy cheaper than what I would find them for in Atlanta. The variety is impeccable. I can't say it enough. This is the spot to go to for a good selection of wine that will not break your pockets. I wasn't even interested in looking for food after I discovered the wine section. Seriously. Only a few things worth going here for. I hate the idea of a 10% up charge, but if I do the math and still come out ok, then I'm good. However, I compared the price of Butter flavor Crisco, (with a competitor), and not only was it higher at Food Depot, but the expiration date was near. I could tell that they tried dusting off the can but they needed to wash it off. Food Depot, if you're going to charge just as much or more than your competitors, plus a 10% up charge, then at least sell fresh food. That up charge needs to go away. There's no justification for it. You're charging the customer the cost of you getting the food to your store. Really? read more

I usually love shopping at this Food Depot but today the cashier Lamisha B was horrible like she didn't want to be there. I first said hello and she ignored me totally. Then she rung up only 2 items when I had a total of 14 all together. I had remind her and without a sorry, she had to do another transaction. The only person that was pleasant a was the lovely bag girl that was on another register. I then called to speak to a manager and he seems not to care. But just saying just, "okay". I go out of my way. About 20 miles to go to the Food Depot in Douglasville. The store is laid out nice, the employees ie the cashiers are very friendly. I've never ever had any problems with any of their meats. The hamburger, the chicken etc. All were packaged well, not bloody and tasted great. The prices are even nicer. I used to go to Publix down the road from where i live but their prices keep going up. FD on the other hand are very reasonable price wise. I highly recommend the Douglasville location to do your next grocery shopping. read more

Someone asked me to meet them at the Food Depot on Hwy 92, and since they are not from Atlanta, they nor I had any idea how I was to get there, nor did they know the correct name of the street. I attempted to look it up on the GPS, but even the GPS could not direct me to Hwy 92, but since I knew the location was in Douglasville, I found a couple that were in Douglasville and called them to see which one was located on Hwy 92. I called this location and when I asked the person that answered the phone if this was the Hwy 92 location, she stated it was. I explained where I was coming from and asked her to confirm the address. She says, she doesn't know the address, and was working a register so she was not able to give me the exact address. She asked where I was coming from and attempted to give me directions from I-20. I explained that I would just follow the GPS directions. Of course my GPS signal got lost so I circled Hwy 92 twice before the GPS found the signal again and put me on the right course. I met my friend and went inside to grab a couple of things to make salad and was pleasantly surprised at the freshness of the items in the produce section and even more impressed with the prices. I bought 1.5lbs of ranier cherries for $1.65. Generally at Kroger or Publix they are about $2.99/lb. I also bought 5 roma tomatoes for 1.03 which I thought was a deal since I purchased 3 of them at the farmers market earlier this week and they came up to $1.93 I'm for sure going to have to find a Food Depot closer to me if I want to begin shopping at them more frequently, as this location is 41 minutes from my house, so it wouldn't make sense for me to drive all the way here, as what I'd save in food would be lost in gas. I purchased 3 packes of turkey wings on Sunday afternoon in hopes of cooking them for dinner. As soon as I got home and opened the package the smell of the meat was so horrible I gagged. I contacted the store manager right away, he took back the product and returned my money right away. The only thing that trough me off was he acted like it happened all of the time. I will not be purchasing anything from there again the quality of food is not up to great standards. read more

BEWARE OF INCORRECT PRICING!!! This place is notorious for mispriced items. They do a poor job of quality control when it comes to pricing the item the sam as what is supposed to ring up at the register. I have contacted the manager and regional manager at least twice, both time in writing about the fact that I have been there at least 5 times when I was forced to memorize the price of all of my groceries so I could catch them overcharging me. And when you bring it to their attention, you have to stand there for 10 minutes while they check it, just to come back and charge you the correct price. all without any backlash to the store. most other stores give you the item for free when it is found they are overcharging you. It becomes an incentive to get the pricing correct. but not this store or chain. read more

I always find the grocery items I'm looking for a reasonably priced. Especially in the meat department. I prefer the one on Hiram Sudie Rd.

It seems that lately every time I come in for meat the case is half empty. You ask the butcher and he has a excuse I'm cleaning my machine. Why doesn't he fill the case before cleaning the machine. The staff is amazing and nice, but the manager is very ignorant. I started to ask her for help and she starting speeding away with her cart. I followed her to ask her and when I did she pretended like she didn't hear me. Then I asked her where the ginger tea is, and she claimed they didn't sell it, five minutes later I found it. Later, at check out, I was wondering how much an iPhone charger cost, so when the extremely nice cashier called her over to check, she simply shrugged her shoulders and walked away.
