So we look at the smoothie options at the far corner in the back of the store and decide to order--ooo strawberry banana looks good! We order and get ready to pay. The cashier types in a 1...and then a 5. Oh! $1.50? That's not bad at all. Wait...0. Wait...another 0. $15 for two? I guess that's doable. But no. Little did we know, we had just been scammed and the smoothies were $15 each. We were both furious, but decided to try it before we declare it a waste of money. Very cute spot with shelves of homemade pizza and baked goods. They had 'gluten free' options, however as someone with celiac disease I would not recommend anyone with a gluten allergy eat here. The gluten free selections in food cases were directly touching gluten containing foods, despite the staff confirming it was safe for someone with a serious allergy. My husband and family enjoyed their regular pizzas - overall a nice place but unfortunately not safe for the GF crowd. read more

We had two delicious small pizzas, one on maybe yeastless wraplike flatbread, nicely chewy yet crispy when rewarmed at home till its cheese bubbled, with astonishingly fresh sliced veg. Also a fine ricotta personal pizza w/ more traditional crust. And a beef/veg empanada whose spiciness made me think more of a Jamaican beef patty. Yum. read more

The gluten free pizza was the very very worst I've ever had. I've had many bad crusts but this one doesn't even resemble pizza and not one person in our party of 8 would eat it. Toppings are delicious but this isn't even passable as pizza. You can't pick it up and it's basically mush. If you're gluten free don't bother! read more

Been coming here for a while and simply can't understand the low rating. Definitely a very good local beach spot for additional options. Lots of prepared items ready for grab and go. Can only comment on salads which were fresh and tasty multiple times. Lots of bakery items that look delicious, tried crumb cake and was very good, I'd score it an 8-8.5. Although pizza looks good, have yet to try it, only critique is it's stored out in open and uncovered which is a bit unique. Perhaps a covering in plastic to protect from elements could be a consideration. Beyond that, local place where staff works hard and will be back again. read more

I spent over $100 here on Saturday night just before closing, only to bring the food home just 15 minutes later and find the $18.99 antipasto had ants on the cheese and some of the food had gone sour. I called them immediately to let them know and the nice young girl who answered and had waited on us, was apologetic. I told her to make a note and that I would return it the next day and to check the other one still in the store. When I went back the next morning, Joanne immediately told me that they don't make that antipasto there, that it wasn't possible for it to have gone bad or have ants because they just opened. Not once did she apologize and instead kept arguing with me. She refused to even open it look at it. She eventually told me to go pick out something else. I told her "no, I think I want my money back now". Did she think I was making it up?? Why would I do that? Did she think they were my ants? In 15 minutes? If she had apologized and actually considered the fact that I had gone out of my way to call the night before and then return just one of several items, it should have been clear that there was something wrong with that item. Instead she actually created an semi-awkward situation in front of other customers. It should have been no questions asked and "I'm so sorry for the inconvenience". We are longtime High Bar Harbor summer residents and have purchased many items from Foodies over the years. It's too bad that the poor customer service from the only adult and only so-so food lately may cause us to go elsewhere in the future. read more

Over a year ago, my family picked up over $100 worth of food from this establishment. Upon returning home, ants were discovered in the antipasto. We are biologists, so I am 100% certain that these were in fact ants, and not a desirable fancy truffle, which is a fungus. Mushrooms can't walk. We also know the difference between Giardiniera, which we've all enjoyed in the past, and spoiled food. So, my mom called and let the very kind teenager working there know that this was the case and that she would be there the next day to return the single item. Upon returning, she was met with hostility and unacceptable customer service and so asked for her money back for this single item. Just yesterday, the owner, who was not present for any of this had the gall to respond to the initial review accusing us of not knowing good food when we have it and not being able to recognize ants. It's insulting and ridiculous. They let food go bad, sold it to us, and then made such a stink when asked to return it. We should have been apologized to and it should have been made right. read more
