I've come to this location twice in the period of a month. I have ordered menu items to include both the chicken tikka masala and shrimp tikka masala, hot and spicy soup, fried rice and garlic and butter naan. Hot and spicy soup with shrimp- This soup is made to order and is piping hot. This soup is made with a peppery broth that includes green onions and bits of corn. The green onions give the soup a nice punch, and the little bits of corn add just enough sweetness and crunch to keep it interesting. Because you can add the protein of your choice, each time one orders this dish, it may have a different flavor profile, whether it leans towards the savory, the umami, or the slightly acidic, depending on the selected protein. The shrimp in this dish is cut into fine small pieces that are perfect for spoon sized bites. Fried rice- The fried rice isn't just a side here, it's the star. The grains are perfectly stir‑fried so they stay light and a little chewy, with just the right hint of wok char. The scrambled eggs adds richness, while green onions bring a fresh bite that keeps things lively. The green bell peppers give a gentle crunch and a pop of color, making the whole dish feel homey. Honestly, everything I tried here was excellent. Each dish had its own flavor and came out hot and well‑prepared. The atmosphere is definitely busy, so expect a little bit of a wait, the food is made fresh to order so it takes some time before it hits the table. While you're waiting, the space stays lively and open, with the steam from the kitchen drifting out and adding to the vibe. There are multiple TVs suspended from the ceiling playing Indian shows, which gives the place a fun, energetic feel. Thoroughly impressed by the modern decor, spacious seating and cleanliness at Foodistan. It is refreshing when many Indian restaurants in the area are a hole in the wall. We had a large family lunch here, with ghee roast dosa, rava dosa, egg dosa, idli, bonda, biryani for main course and blackforest pastry, royal falooda for dessert. Everything was freshly made, dosas were crispy and delicious. Bondas were oily but also tasty. Royal falooda was truly royal with the perfect blend of dry fruits, tutti fruity, vermicelli and ice cream. It took a while for our large order to be prepared and everything is self service. The grocery adjacent to the restaurant is a good way to get done with shopping while your food is being prepared. read more

This place is a combination of a grocery store and a food court, with a variety of ready-to-serve dishes, plus a menu you can order from. We ordered a plain dosa and Irani chai. I liked the flavor of the dosa and sambar, but it would've been much better if it was hot. It seemed like it had been microwaved--part of it was lukewarm while the rest was cold, and the dosa was soggy. The Irani chai, on the other hand, was enjoyable. It was my first time trying it, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I found it very milky and sweet--which I liked. Since it's a food court setup, there isn't much in terms of service. It's a big restaurant/food court & grocery store. Food court also has lot seating. We went for quick snacks. What I really liked was the variety of menu , it has a lot of different option from south-indian food to Indo-Chinese (indian-Chinese fusion) to north-indian food. You can come here for groceries , order your food, do the grocery and pick up your dinner. Another thing which I liked was the beverage option. We tried the Irani chai and it was good. Few things I didn't liked was it was too loud inside. They can focus on cleaning the tables as well, because it's an open seating arrangement and they get busy, sometimes you see tables are not clean. I ordered Dosa, the taste was excellent but it was served cold, Dosa is always served hot. I can try to-go next time or sit at outdoors to try different food options. read more

This is the second time this has happened to me. I purchased meat, and it was not placed in my bag at checkout. Since this is not a self-checkout, it should not be my responsibility to double-check whether all items were packed correctly. This is extremely frustrating. I had to travel 30 minutes to the store, and now I have to spend another hour going back just to collect the missing item. That's nearly two hours wasted because of a simple mistake. New (to us) grocery in Cedar Park, when we saw the sign, we thought, "has to be good!" I mean, how cool is "Foodistaan"? We only visited the grocery side, but there is a food court side, with some tasty smells coming from it. Very clean and well organized, the Hop Queen even found some of the "Kajal" eye liner that another store in town quit carrying. (Disclaimer - the bonus of this eye liner is it reminds us of one of our favorite S. Indian actresses, first time we saw her was in Rajamouli's blockbuster, Magadheera. IYNYK) Lots of quality food items, kitchen items, as well as bulk flour and rice. Tons of spice items, and a fresh produce section. Checkout was fast and friendly. Highly recommended! read more

UNCLEAN FOOD - BAD SERVICE - BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE I noticed HUMAN HAIR in my food and I received no acknowledgement of their issue or an apology but was told the hair may have fallen because someone didn't wear a hairnet. The first thing the manager did was take the plate away from me to do an inquiry, throw the food in trash and came to give me an explanation on why there was hair in my food. The manager stood there with a disbelief on how to proceed further. I had to firmly ask that I be refunded my food cost and had to leave without being able to continue to eat because i lost the appetite and was frustrated with the service. The front staff had no clue on what food they are ready with and they sold me breakfast when they had no Sambar. We had to wait 25 mins for the Sambar and that too it had hair. I also ordered parotta which didn't come even after 30 minutes into my order and this was when the restaurant had not more than 3 tables dining in and eating. It seems like the place is buzzing but the folks there are inefficiently running around without any operating procedures. Suggestion to management 1. Please train your managers on how to handle situations like this, the easiest thing is to apologize, proactively offer to comp the meals and/or replace them. 2. Whatever may be, we don't need reasons for bad quality food. All we need is acknowledgment and respecting the customer's discomfort. 3.Train the front register staff folks need to be updated/trained on what the kitchen has, basically they are blindly taking orders and stressing out the kitchen and the staff. read more

We saw this new grocery store as we were driving by so we decided to go inside and check it out. The store is pretty large and has several aisles of different, treats, flours, seeds, nuts, and other packaged food items. There is a smaller produce section and a dairy section. There are a few freezer sections with desserts and other things like samosas. There was one section with ice cream and I love to try new things so I grabbed a butterscotch one which was very good. There was also a group of women learning to decorate cakes which was pretty cool too. The staff was nice and we had no issues. There was also a restaurant to the side of the store but unfortunately, I had no idea what most of the food was so I couldn't tell if I could eat it being gluten-free. I will have to investigate to see if there is a menu somewhere. Parking was easy and not hard to get to the store at all. I want to come back again and check it out more thoroughly. read more

Service was extremely slow (although we went on a weeknight ) . Food arrived after 33 minutes ! Food was extremely spicy , yet tasteless . I ordered Goat Haleem , which was somehow powdery ? Had a weird texture , like it had been microwaved one too many times. Again had too much garam masala in it . It was weeks old to say the least .
