Menu

It's a big restaurant/food court & grocery store. Food court also has lot seating. We went for quick snacks. What I really liked was the variety of menu , it has a lot of different option from south-indian food to Indo-Chinese (indian-Chinese fusion) to north-indian food. You can come here for groceries , order your food, do the grocery and pick up your dinner. Another thing which I liked was the beverage option. We tried the Irani chai and it was good. Few things I didn't liked was it was too loud inside. They can focus on cleaning the tables as well, because it's an open seating arrangement and they get busy, sometimes you see tables are not clean. I ordered Dosa, the taste was excellent but it was served cold, Dosa is always served hot. I can try to-go next time or sit at outdoors to try different food options.

Human Hair in the food
Harish R.

UNCLEAN FOOD - BAD SERVICE - BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE I noticed HUMAN HAIR in my food and I received no acknowledgement of their issue or an apology but was told the hair may have fallen because someone didn't wear a hairnet. The first thing the manager did was take the plate away from me to do an inquiry, throw the food in trash and came to give me an explanation on why there was hair in my food. The manager stood there with a disbelief on how to proceed further. I had to firmly ask that I be refunded my food cost and had to leave without being able to continue to eat because i lost the appetite and was frustrated with the service. The front staff had no clue on what food they are ready with and they sold me breakfast when they had no Sambar. We had to wait 25 mins for the Sambar and that too it had hair. I also ordered parotta which didn't come even after 30 minutes into my order and this was when the restaurant had not more than 3 tables dining in and eating. It seems like the place is buzzing but the folks there are inefficiently running around without any operating procedures. Suggestion to management 1. Please train your managers on how to handle situations like this, the easiest thing is to apologize, proactively offer to comp the meals and/or replace them. 2. Whatever may be, we don't need reasons for bad quality food. All we need is acknowledgment and respecting the customer's discomfort. 3.Train the front register staff folks need to be updated/trained on what the kitchen has, basically they are blindly taking orders and stressing out the kitchen and the staff.

samosa chat

i want this place to thrive. i usuallu come here for the breakfast buffet on the weekends. today i came for a samosa chat togo i am yet to taste it but i just got it and i was disappointed with the quantity. see the pic. for $8 i was given such a little quantity you may think if its the price of the goods thats driving up the price. i know its not. so dear owners. do not cringe on the quantity. ambience is clean and spacious.

Very happy with the food! Butter masala was divine and the dish my kiddo got was quite good, too. Garlic naan was great. Very pleased!

Still an awesome value for the quality and quantity of food we get, and we appreciate the adjustable spice levels! They always ask, and then double check after the food is served, to make sure it's what you wanted. I like extra spicy, and they gave me the "make the gori cry" level, and the Hop Queen likes extra mild, and it fits her tolerance well.

The portion sizes were generous too, so you definitely get good value for your money. Service - 10/10: The service really stood out. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about our experience. They checked in on us throughout the meal without being intrusive, which made us feel well taken care of. Ambiance - 7/10: The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and welcoming, but the atmosphere is fairly simple. It's not a place I'd choose for a fine dining experience, but it's perfect for a casual meal with family or friends. One small change that could make a big difference would be swapping the bright white lighting for warmer yellow lighting--it would instantly create a cozier, more inviting vibe. Overall: If you're craving authentic North Indian food in the Austin area, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Great food, excellent service, generous portions, and a satisfying dining experience. I'll definitely be back!

There was one customer waiting, and not another person. I waited about ten minutes. My son loves chicken Tikka masala, so we ordered him some. It is spicy. I'm into a moderate spice, and this is burning my lips as I type. There was no option when ordering online to determine level of spice so we weren't ready for that. Beyond the spice the chicken was tough, so even if the spice was toned down the chicken wasn't great. The tandoori chicken is nice and flavorful and tender. $17 for three drumsticks and two thighs might be a bit steep. Overall not an overwhelmingly good experience.

The restaurant is clean, well decorated and ready for your visit! The staff are super friendly. I drove home with my order and it was piping hot and spectacular. Chicken tikka is spicy, mildly sweet and so delicious. A great way to conquer allergy season! The paneer butter masala had a lot of paneer. Many other locals have tiny bits of paneer in a sea of gravy. At Tamarind you will not be disappointed! Don't miss the potato samosas... Come on Austin, let's show these guys more lunch time love!

Our server, Pushpa, was exceptional - he was kind and patient with the kids, and very attentive to our table. I appreciated him going above and beyond. We ordered the kids the cheese dosa combo, which is served with fries and either gobi 65 or chicken lollipop, and an ice cream. Both kids loved the dosa, and finished their meals happily. We also ordered: 1. hariyali paneer kebab for appetizer - my partner loved this but I thought it was mediocre and a bit tough/chewy. 2. nagas special chicken curry - delicious! Loved this one. It hits, especially on a cold day. Beware that medium spice level is actually pretty spicy. Served with rice. 3. nagas special goat curry - my partner ate this as I don't eat goat. She said this was ok, and that she preferred the chicken curry. The only negative is that the food took a LONG time (over an hour) to arrive, hence I am docking one star. Our server told us there is only one chef, which makes no sense for a Saturday night. They do need to address this.

As an Indian person myself, I can confidently say the food here is very authentic and reminds me of the flavors my mom cooks with. It's also filled with Indian families and customers, which is always a good sign that the food is the real deal! On my visit, I ordered the egg curry and a dosa, and both were excellent. The egg curry was rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, while the dosa was fresh, crispy, and delicious. They also have a wide variety of vegetarian options, so there's something for everyone. The food tasted fresh, the portions were satisfying, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, this is one of the better places in Austin for authentic Indian food. Aug 13, 2025 review for PARMER branch location…read more ---- I understand that this is the page for Leander Location but I'm leaving the review here since they don't have the yelp page created yet for PARMER location. We went there on a weekday dinner around 8pm. They just had the grand opening couple of days ago. We ordered masala dosa and veg uttpam. Both items came quickly. I was really amazed to see their plate and utensils. Sambhar came in a really big bowl and all 3 chutneys (coconut, peanut, tomato) were also good. The waitress came to check in on us after few mins. We provided her feedback. Restaurant is spacious and restrooms were clean. Location is good as lot of Indian families in this area but good competition as well with other south Indian restaurant. They also have bunch of pastry and snacks options pre made and available at the counter. Its a women owned restaurant. Really nice to see another good restaurant in this area.
