*Update* Never coming back!!!! =( I'm used to bad service at asian places, but this was horrible. Instead of a nice quiet lady, I got some pushy old lady who breathes really hard. She practically pushed me into the room and disrobed me herself. Then she gave me one of the worst massages I've ever had. It was like she was rushing through it as to get it over and get another customer in. She was all over the place, going from back to arms to legs and then back to arms. Her phone also went off 3 times during the massage and she picked it up and chatted for a few minutes each time. The worst part was that she kept yanking at my underwear when I kept trying to pull it up. Sooo traumatizing. I went w/ a guy friend who said, after it was done, that he was molested. ahhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm willing to shell out an extra 30 bucks to go somewhere more professional and respectful to their customers. ARGH =( *********************************************************************** Pain, but the good kinda pain. I went in at 11:30 pm on a Saturday night and the half the seats we're filled. My friends got the foot massage while I opted for the hour long body massage. $25??? I was a skeptic at first and was in need of a really deep tissue massage to get the knots out of my back. This 5 foot, 40 yr old asian woman almost put me in tears. I've had deep tissue massages from bigger ppl at other places, but iI felt like this lady beat my ass after we were done. I would reccomend the foot massage for first timers. I do have a few complaints though, 1. they don't have private rooms for the body massage. It's a buncha of sheets hung from the ceiling to create little stalls. I was sooo uncomfortable at first because I had to take my top off. I was able to over look this because for 25 bucks, what was I expecting? 2. The staff is mixed, you might get a really nice asian lady or a super grouchy one that breathes really hard. This review is based primarily on my second, and last, visit. Greatest massage ever for $15!!!!!! It was so good, I even tipped $10 a head (for me and my friend), and I'm Chinese, so that's saying something. The most I can usually part with is a five dollar bill, and even then it's begrudgingly. :/ I came in the morning on a weekday, right when they opened. Our masseuses were both men, and they did a bomb-diggity job!!! My complaint the first time was that my massage was too soft (I had a woman who looked tired...however, it was 9pm on a Saturday). This tim around, he was firm to the point where I was a bit sore the next day. Yeah baby! I didn't like the head/face massage the first time, so I asked not to have that the second time around, and I got a prolonged back massage. Disco! It was fabulous. The guy stretched me out in better and different ways that my first girl never even attempted. Plus, the five minutes foot massage I had with the woman felt like fifteen or more with this guy. Overall, it was an awesome time. I guess it depends on when you come in and who you get, but I think next time I'll aim for the morning once more, because it was great! read more

tip: remember to tip the rest of the 5 bucks, so in reality it's $20. This place is really called BCT foot massage (says so on the frequent customer card), they have 3 locations. A great value to spend $20 and pretty much get a full body massage for an hour. Some parts of the massage were unnecessary like the scalp, fingers, toes, and hips. Ahh, heaven! Ok, maybe not exactly heaven but for $15, pretty damn close. I've been to a number of the foot massage places in the SGV, and so far - I like this place the best. They still have a few cons (using their knuckles to dig in the bottom of your foot, masseuses having conversations with each other), but that is outweighed by the pros (nice head/neck/back massage, recliner chairs that recline all the way flat, warm & cozy Hello Kitty blankets to cover you up, and they don't do the "squeeze your toes until they pop" move that all the other places seem to do). This place is definitely worth a repeat visit. They are open 7 days a week from 10am to 11pm. read more

0 stars if I could. I have never before felt as beat up after a massage as I did at this place. She had, at one point, leaned her entire weight directly on my spine. I think she didn't realize she had done this because she was too busy watching some soap opera on the large television on the wall while she was doing the massage. I cried out in discomfort and tried to tell her to ease off the spine, but she just said "it's ok" over and over again. She didn't understand English but do you need a translator to clarify a whimper and "no NO"?! To literally add insult to injury, before we left, she demanded tip! If the tip is not negotiable then you might as well include it in the price. I certainly shouldn't have tipped her, but she got pretty confrontational. I also didn't feel the real pain until a few hours after I left the place, when my back felt sore near my spine. Sure enough, it was swollen and bruised. I could not lean back in a chair and I couldn't bend over without it hurting. This lasted for almost a week. I typically expect to be a little sore shortly afterwards, but this pain was on my bone and just did not feel right. read more

$15?! That's what the sign in the window said. As a matter of fact, that was what the sign in the window said for all three foot massage spas in this particular plaza. I had heard the legend about these places in San Gabriel where you could get an incredibly good shiatsu-like massage for a mere 15 bucks a pop (and by pop I mean one hour). My date took me to one of these places after dinner. As soon as I heard the suggestion I was confused but who can pass up a professional massage. Mind you, I have NEVER gotten a foot massage before. I don't like strangers rubbing their hands on me, let alone my feet. The masseuse kept commanding me to relax. It was hard in the beginning due to 1. I was on a date and 2. he kept talking to the masseuse next to him about how scarily muscular I was. I raised my eyebrows, "Huh?" I asked confused after he mumbled to her in Japanese. He then points to my calves and my shoulders and blows up his arms like the stay puff marshmallow guy. I raise my eyebrows again...was this dude trying to say I was a monster? The hulk? Then I realized that he was telling me I had big muscles. Which I don't but hey, professional opinion is a professional opinion. I walked away feeling carefree. The neat thing about this place is the armchairs are really mushy, they have flat screen TVs mounted all over the wall and you get to watch cheesy epic kung fu movies in Chinese with Japanese sub-titles. We give $25 for the $15 massage because well, because we did it the first time and now we don't want to get bad massages for dipping any less. Weekly trips here? Check. A Bug's Life playing while I try not to laugh as he slips his fingers between your toes - check. Bathroom that's clean enough. Water or tea after your massage (more than the $85 massage envy would give me). And you get to smoke with your masseuse after and laugh politely because I wasn't really paying attention to what you just said. But yeah, go here. It's the one downstairs! Parking is a breeze and you WON'T regret it. Oh oh, and make sure you tell them if it hurts - don't try to be macho. Okay, yes I am asian, well kind of... no I have never heard of these chinese foot massage places that apparently are all over the place east of L.A. boy am i GLAD that I know now! 15 dollars! no way! awesome! I actually went last night at around 10:30pm (after Tea Station - yum) to this plaza where there are 3 foot places to choose from. me being a lazy babysloth - i picked the one only a few steps from where i parked my car ;) it was packed and there were huge ugly reclining chairs, footstools and hello kitty blankets all over the place... a huge flatscreen TV at the front of the chairs, lots of wooden buckets with plastic bags and herbal footmedicine soaks, and people reclined and having their feet and legs worked on, or sitting on the footstool and having their backs kneaded, or their arms yanked or their fingers pulled... I LOVE THIS STUFF. All I want is to get my feet rubbed, and if you knead out the knots in my back and yank all the tension out of my arms and legs too, well I'm sold. I know how to say thank you (thanks to Art) and that I am Korean (because they always ask) and then I can just close my eyes and let them do their thing. I don't have to chat, I don't have to make friends, I like the impersonal-ness. Just rub my feet and I am SO appreciative. Last night was fun, there were a lot of characters in the place. Although mostly mandarin(?) is spoken, there was some translation and english going on next to me by a very boisterous and funny man and so it made the whole thing kind of pleasant... jokes were tossed about and there was the nice atmosphere of pleasant and fun conversational chatter... I was intermittently watching (hard not to) the very large screen in front of my face which seemed to have some sort of soap opera on, and it was awesomely weird in that all the asian characters were decked out as if they were living in the american 50's or something. June Cleaver haircuts and suspenders. anyway, the other 2 foot places looked more streamlined (they, being on the second level of the plaza, lost out on my business since i am too lazy to walk up stairs), but also don't accomodate as many people, and closed earlier. but maybe i'll try em out after reading the other reviews. (there was another place that i hit in monterey park - what an experience that was - big chairs and footstools again, country music, red light, little blankets that look like they should be in my german great grandma's living room... $40 for an hour and a half of full body massage. Where else can one pay someone so little money and be touching you for such a long period of time. But they do ask for a tip. Of course one does get what one pays for. Certain areas that they had massaged wasn't that comfortable and even quite painful. The lotion that they used wasn't the highest quality. Even the room in which one is massaged in is only separated by a sheet for a door. read more

One of the many, many, MANY foot massage places on Valley Blvd. My wife (she's Taiwanese) and I have tried a bunch, and keep coming back to this one, although, it does have its faults. The bottom line is you can't deny a $15 hour long massage is totally worth it for the money. I've spent 10x that much on a massage before and not been satisfied. These guys do a good job most of the time, however, there are some people in there who do a much better job. It can be totally hit or miss though, but worst case scenario you get a decent massage for $20 (including tip). My favorite thing about this place is if you ask them to go hard they will destroy you. I love a strong massage, and some of the older guys can give a very strong massage without it being overly painful. read more

Twenty dollars for an hour foot massage. My husband is a patient of Dr Matar and Dr says this is the best foot massage he's found. Dr has tried many in San Gabriel. If you are a wimp, go elsewhere. This is a real massage and it hurts and can hurt for a couple days. These guys know where I am sore (I ignore most pain) and they work those areas. It's amazing. I tip from 10 to 20 dollars depending on how good they do. I have paid more for massages but this is better. We come here weekly. We bring everyone. This really helps me feel better. read more

The massages here tend to be on the heavier side. The workers were very friendly, even gave us some of their watermelon! One of the guys used to be a watermelon farmer. He's got some good tips. Nice hello kitty blankets. Got the standard $15 an hour deal, starts with tub of water, shoulders, back, neck, arms, head, and then foot. There is nothing special about this place and nothing horrible. I think its a good idea to keep looking. I've been to several massages in Asia, but it's my first in San Gabriel Valley. Not sure why but this foot massage place is on yelp as "Foot Spa' with correct address and as "BCT Foot & Body Spa" w/different address and #. Regardless it's the same place. My usual place moved away and thought I'd give this place a try. Went on a Monday, pretty dead. The workers were laying on the recliners watching TV on low volume. Was attended by a woman who didn't speak English BUT they do have a chart in English that lists their packages. Went with the Combo (40 min body; 30 mins feet for $25! Can't beat that!) I was worried about parking & having car towed away because sign on curb said only 20 mins. When I asked I just got an "OK" and sure enough my car was there when I came out. The woman started w/the foot soak and did the body massage first (shoulders, head, arms, back) and left my feet for last. Would've liked for a bit more water in tub. I've been to several places and they're hit and miss. I was happy with my masseuse. I underestimated her strength because she started off soft but she can definitely muster up strength when needed. And she was GREAT at adjusting intensity of massage. The only things is that the workers are chatting and watching TV while you're in there, granted they are doing at in a low volumes. I've been to Kotry (now DD spa) where the workers shush you if your above whispering level. And then there was getting change (but that's not news to me). So if you go take exact change! Figure $10 tip for full body massage/combo pack plus $25 charge. Can't beat $35 for a 70 min massage! BUT knowing what these places are like I would definitely go back to this place! read more

yes, it's true.....i was beaten up by an asian man this past weekend. i know, i know.....you ask yourself, "what? how could this happen?" well, let me tell you, it did! emily never, ever gets to pick a massage place EVER again! it was a beautiful friday evening and the start to a three day weekend! wooo hoooo! emily and i decided we wanted, well really needed, to go get massages. but where? pho siam? no, we didn't feel like drivin'......burke williams? yeah.....like we ever pay that much for a rub down. "i know! why don't we try one of those $15 foot massage places? i have a card for one!" without much more of a thought of, "so long as i don't get a weird foot fungus, then alright." emily couldn't remember which foot place it was, seein' as there are two in that strip mall. but she was immediately more attracted to the bright blue lights of this one. we walked in, as "one night in bangkok" ran through my head, and were greeted by a nice asian man. we were taken to the very front of the room and seated next to two older white ladies that looked so very relaxed and satisfied. this was a good sign in my book......but oh how i was wrong! i haven't gotten many massages, but i can tell you the ones i have gotten have usually been deep tissue....i work, i have stress, and i have major knots in my back. so it started off alright, until..........BAM! knuckle to the shoulder blade! my eyes grew big as i turned to a giggling emily, whom had yet to receive her beating. alright, maybe that was just one.......BAM! another knuckle to the underarm! my face was soon pressed down into a pillow....and NOT in the good way that all us gals wish our faces were. with every elbow to the glutts my head sprang up, just to soon be pushed back down and elbowed inbetween the shoulders. i thought the worst was over when i was turned around and sat down again in the cozy chair. oh no, the worst was yet to come my good friends. emily soon realized what she had gotten us into. as we layed on our backs starin' at each other with tears in our eyes......no, not with love, but in utter pain......we tried to talk to get our minds off of what was happening to our legs. we squirmed, we yelled, we freakin' said OUCH! did they stop? no they did the same thing i would have done and continued inflicting torture on us as they scoffed and sneered! as soon as it was over, we grabbed our stuff, counted our money, threw it at the guys and ran out of there! as though runnin' from a hired sex scene gone horribly wrong! i was in so much pain during, after, and way after. i couldn't move the next morning because my back was more messed up than when i went in there and i still have new bruises coming up. i have an odd hickey lookin' one on my shoulder, a few on my back where the knuckles dug in and multiple ones on my legs.....my legs bruise like a summer peach damn it! needless to say i curled up into the fetal position and cried myself to sleep that night. never again! and to you little asian man with lethal hands....you'll get yours some day. one day someone will put up a fight and kick your ass right back! and when that day comes, i will laugh just like you laughed at me! hahaha! alright....that's enough...... read more

Call them for appointment. They're store front is actually closed because of something with changing business license or not having business license or massage license. But they are still opened even though it doesn't look like it. It seems a little shady but they take you around to the back entrance and to private stalls for the rooms. No it's not happy ending.. just some good ole Chinese foot massage. For $20 - 40 minute feet and 20 minute body). You can pick other massages on the menu for higher price. They don't have shorts and shirt (the ones they do are ridiculously large like xxxxL size. Cash only. They only speak Chinese. At the end of the pay my friends and I all gave $5 each and one of the massage lady complained and said "$5 too little.. $10 is okay." Umm we ignored that because you're giving a $20 foot massage I'm. It about to pay 50% tip especially if it wasn't amazing. read more

wow, it is hard to believe i just enjoyed a shoulder and foot massage (the rest of it elsewhere were neglible) for $15! i am a thai massage diehard fan so i'm all about kneading that i can feel - this place is really not bad. well, retract that - pretty awesome considering the ridiculously low price. it's a little cramped if you have to make your way to the far end chair but once you're set up, it's just a matter of letting them have their way with you. the foot soak is nice - not too hot, unlike the tibetan style dealio upstairs (for $40!) which i thought would take the skin off my feet. then they work your shoulders while you soak - pretty strong ladies, i tell you. thereafter, you sit and they work on your head and face a bit - i could skip this bit actually since it didn't do much for me. then comes the feet - about 35-40 mins of kneading and massaging - not as potent as the thai style foot massages i'm used to where you tingle all over, but effective nevertheless. i was half asleep and very relaxed afterwards and am dying to go back again. at those prices, i'm thinking once, maybe even twice a week, my schedule willing... highly recommended - i'm told that not all foot spa places pay attention to any other part of your body so this place has at least that going for is as a differentiator. i'm still curious enough to try the 1800 other places...will keep y'all posted :0) read more

Not for me or my mom. Totally gross feeling during my massage. Not clean. My masseuse smelled like he spent the night drinking and smoking and forgot to shower. I know not to expect much for 15, but the Chinese foot spas at home (Silicon Valley) do a much better job. Massage itself wasn't great either. Spent the time talking away with coworkers and sometimes that talking meant shouting across the room. With so many places to choose from, I told my mom to try out other places. read more

Between the man covered in tattoos talking about the good feelings of the place, the chinese drama playing on the large flat screen and the sounds of the slapping hands hitting my head, I enjoyed myself. I've never had so many elbows and knuckles digging into me with such force and for such a duration. For $15, you get an intense, and somewhat painful, head, neck, back, arm, foot and leg massage that lasts close to an hour. Being served yummy tea with floating flower heads, covered with a comfy fleece blanket and then having fingers traipsing over my scalp, made me believe that unicorns really do exist and that I might actually get to befriend one in the middle of the San Gabriel Valley. In general, I realize I'm just not a fan of massages bc they always tend to hurt (I have a low threshold for pain...so what?). So of course it made sense that I would get a male massager rather than a female (my two other friends had females and theirs didnt hurt at all), whose sole job (no pun intended) was to cause more pain than to relieve it. Turns out my friend had him before and when she had mentioned that it hurt, he said that it should hurt at least a little. I didn't feel very relaxed (though the foot massage tickled a little), though both friends enjoyed their masages, hence the four stars. The chairs are nice and comfy and they throw a couple of cute Hello Kitty blankets over you to keep you warm. They also bring you some tea with flowers in it. When we paid $20 each ($15 + $5 tip) one of the women gave us a look like we didnt tip enough. Whatever! NEVER EVER GOT TO THIS PLACE!!!! apart from giving averages massages they are trying to ripp off people. Not an honest business. I have had many massages at many different places in China, Europe and the US. I went in with a friend for a massage. The massage was ok not fantastic the masseuse was talking all the time with her colleague instead of focusing on giving me a massage and the pressure and force used was like that of a little child, but what can you expect for 25 bucks right? At least that was what I thought and the signs in front of the store clearly state that a full body massage costs $25. So when we were done I gave the masseuse 50 bucks and a $10 tip. When I was leaving she called us back stating that it was not enough. Saying that we "MUST" tip $10 each. I said that where is that written and who says it must be $10. They pretended like they didn't hear me and my friend was already paying. I was like WTF! Tips are not required by law it's optional. I might tip more or less depending on the service I get somewhere, but a required 40%!!! tip in a massage place. But we already had given them the money. When I left the place I really felt like having been ripped off. It's not about the money, but the feeling that I had of feeling ripped off. I have no issues with tipping at all when service is good. When I got home I called the place and asked for the manager. They guy picking up the phone literally could not speak a word of English when I asked for the manager. My buddy who speaks Mandarin spoke to him and they guy said that it was like that. My buddy said that that is not an ethical way of doing business. He had no comment on that. so some of us went to rockreation (indoor rock climbing place in santa monica) which reminds me that i have to yep that place. anyway. so we went rock climbing and after some of the people we were with got the great idea to get massages... so call me crazy, but for me, in my mind, there is just something very shady about massage places. i dont care where it is, whos running it, or how long theyve been around, i just get a funny feeling about it. but thats just me being foolish. anyway. so at first i had every intention of waiting outside or getting coffee or something while 4 others got the massage. so we got there and it was kind of weird. it was a giant room full of recliners and tvs on the wall. we were waiting for people to get there and one of the workers asked us to come in, they were actually being pretty forceful about it, but i just figured that they sooner we come in the sooner we would leave. everyone eventually showed up and we went inside. my friend convinced me to get one. oh and as a side note it was that much harder for me because i dont really like people touching me... at all... that was actually my biggest anxiety. but anyway. so i decided to get it. i think i felt too awkward to enjoy the massage... its ok though cause the massage really wasnt that good anyway. i was just kind of waiting for it to end... and the whole face massage part im not to down with either. it was an all around awkward event that i dont really ever want to repeat... but everyone else seemed to enjoy it... read more
