I want to start by saying that I was charged and asked to leave a tip before the massage even began. I don't understand why I would be expected to tip before experiencing the service. During the session, the woman who initially started my massage kept leaving the room, and eventually a gentleman took over. He also took several breaks throughout the massage, which made the experience feel unprofessional and uncomfortable. The massage itself was very ordinary, nothing special or memorable. Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations. If this type of service is acceptable to you, then you can decide for yourself. Unfortunately, despite the location being very convenient for me, I won't be returning. To the owner: I hope you take this feedback as an opportunity to improve future customer experiences. KM Beauty Spa was recommended to me recently. They specialize in head massage, body massage, foot massage, and skin care. Their offerings come in different variations and time limits. Each of them has a set price. You may request for more time on certain aspect of the massage such as more time on head massage and less time on foot massage, but the total time will be the same for the applicable price. All masseuse are licensed and have many years of experience. First time here, I did not have an appointment. I called them and they were able to squeeze me in. Thank you! The lady who I spoke with on the phone was very nice and courteous. They have limited shared parking with Baskin-Robbins behind their shop. I was lucky to get one of their parking spots. Otherwise, I would have had to park on the street. Upon entry, I was greeted right away by the nice lady who I spoke with on the phone. She was very pleasant in person as she was on the phone. All masseuse were attending to other customers at the time. My wait was no more than 10 mins though. This place is very clean and organized... the rooms are cool and comfortable. I chose the 90 mins package that comes with 30 mins head massage, 30 mins full body massage, and 30 mins foot massage for $65 which is an amazing price for the excellent value IMHO. They gave me a bigger private room since all the other rooms were preoccupied. The lady masseuse started with the head massage while my foot was soaked in warm water. Next she worked on my feet. Lastly she did the full body massage. It was very comfortable and relaxing. The lady masseuse asked if the pressure level was okay along the way. She did an excellent job. Thank you miss! Very rejuvenating massage here. First of all, this place is clean. They have clean bedsheets and heated blanket on the bed. Very thoughtful and hospitable owner. I had a 60 mins hot stone body massage here, it was so great that hitting the right spots from long hours sitting in front of computer. Wish I did 90 mins to get a more complete relaxation. I went in for a foot massage for my birthday yesterday. The older gentleman was very nice and attentive. I was the only customer in there around 5:30 pm. The place was nice and dark with little twinkling lights and had rows of reclining massage tables. They soaked my feet in hot water while he massaged my head, temples, neck and arms. Then he massaged my feet and legs and did a hot stone treatment as well. It was very relaxing and worth it! Recommending to a friend and I will definitely be back. My mom actually introduced me to this place and as an OG san gabrielite, she has been to many foot massage places over the past years. In the past when I went with her to other places the massages felt rushed and were often too much pressure where I need to ask over and over again for a lighter touch. Here at KM, I never had to ask for a lighter touch as they applied the perfect amount of pressure for me (as someone who is a baby) and also perfect pressure for my mom (who enjoys hulk-like strength). The place is clean, the people are friendly and there are always regulars! The front receptionist speaks English everytime we've been and is very friendly. Overall a great place, the reason it is a 4 and not a 5 star is because of pricing. A lot of places in the SGV have $15/hr foot massages (which includes ~45 min foot and ~15 min neck and back). This place is $20 for a foot massage and with the new year (starting Jan 2020) they are raising them another $5 so it will be $25 for a foot massage and $30 for a 30 min foot massage and 30 min back massage. Highly unprofessional with no work ethics. They say walk ins welcome. But when we went with for a massage. They asked us to wait 15 mins. That 15 mins turned in to a 45 mins wait and after that they said they can only take one person at a time. If they would have said this earlier, we would have saved 45mins of our time. I generally like the service here and have been a regular for a year. But on my last visit one of the therapists DEMANDED more than 30% for tip. As I was paying, the receptionist had gone home so it was the therapist who processed my payment. She asked me how much I was going to tip on my credit cart. I said $13, which is 20% of the $65 massage. She started hemming and hawing about how 13 is so low and demanded $15 or $20. I was so annoyed and frankly turned off but paid $20 anyway, but I'm not going back to her again. Tip: don't get the massage therapist named Amy. My wife and I have been coming here for years and this is simply the best massage place in SGV (and we've tried quite a few over the years). First of all, for the reviews who come to a $20 massage place and are "appalled" at the lack of privacy, are you kidding me? If you want privacy you can pay $35 for a full body massage in a private room. But considering Massage Envy charges $60 for a 50 minute massage by some first time massage therapist, there's literally no other way to offer massages at 1/3 the cost. Secondly, tip your masseuse at least $10. You might be thinking, that's crazy that's like a 50% tip! Well it doesn't really work that way. Per massage they probably get $5 or so tops from massage place, and unlike a waiter they aren't getting a 15% tip from 6 different tables over an hour. So if you tip them at least $10, then they made maybe $15 for the massage and can at least put food on the table. These people don't get to give a massage every hour they work, there's a lot of waiting for customers and even then they have to take turns, so cut them some slack and tip them $10+ you cheap skate. Lastly, the massages here are top notch. There's some masseuses that are better than others, but everyone we've had has given a solid massage. The $20 massage is practically a full body massage with about 30 mins of foot massage. I usually opt for the $25 so I can cut out most of the foot massage and get more back massage. And when you're feeling like splurging the $35 massage in a private room with hot stones is amazing. So just don't go in expecting Burke Williams and you'll come out extremely happy and relaxed and with plenty of money still left in your pocket. read more

There are so many Chinese foot massage places on Valley, but this one's stands out from the nearby ones because of it's clean relaxing atmosphere. They not only do the foot soak with body acupressure massage for cheap. but they have Thai shampoo and facial massages too. I usually get the 70 minute massage for only $25, what a deal! The massage can vary depending on who you get but they all use acupressure and people looking for a soft gentle massage might not like this style. Woke up with terrible stiff neck pain, and decided to give this place a try after a recommendation from a friend. Sadly, I left with a still noticeable but a slightly less painful stiff neck. Opted for the $20/hour "Foot Massage" which included A) 30 min. back massage and B) 30 min. foot, head and hand massage (see Service Menu). For the foot massage, I soaked my feet in warm water and received one of the best foot massages that I have had in a while. I did not care for the head massage, as she rubbed Aveeno lotion all over my forehead and into my hair. The back massage lacked the pressure that I had wanted, so I asked the woman doing my massage to focus on my stiff neck for the remaining portion. You are directed into a public area where several beds/chairs are placed throughout the room. This spa DOES NOT provide clothes for you to change in, so I would recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting lotion on. Several of the workers speak Cantonese/Mandarin, so it may be difficult to communicate with them if you can't speak their language. Street parking is usually available if you can't find a parking spot in the small, back parking lot. Overall, I have had better experiences at other spas but I guess I really can't complain for the price. I will request someone different to do my massage next time before I write-off this spa. Sometimes a lazy day calls for a trip to the KM Beauty Spa. Went for the first time with one of my best friends and her husband, and they've been before so they scheduled appointments with their favorite masseuse/masseur for us. This isn't a fancy massage place, which some people are more comfortable with. I don't mind. Everything went really well, and it was super relaxing. The only downside was I had a masseuse who started my massage, and I really liked her style and pressure level. Right as I was relaxing, about 5 minutes later, I was told they had to switch her out with someone else because there was a mix-up with the appointments. The person who replaced her was a guy who was a lot tougher (ie didn't use oil or lotion but she did, and I had to tell him to lessen the pressure a couple times). It was still relaxing-ish especially on the feet, and I may have fallen asleep. Knowing I had someone I liked and then switched abruptly was a bit weird (hence knocking down one star). Otherwise this place is great. Remember to tip well! The prices are good but make sure you're also honoring the worker's time and energy properly. Along Las Tunas drive one may find quite a few places to get a massage, and most of the time looks can be deceiving! Without the suggestion by my friend, I would have never found myself in the unassuming massage parlor , but I am sure glad I decided to give this place a try. It's not as high end or chic as most places I have been to, but the service is AMAZING. This place charges a little more fora hot stone massage than my regular haunt, but at $35 it's still a great deal! My masseuse gave me one of the best massages ever, she had very strong and thorough hands (which I prefer because I have a lot of knots and tension!) There is a small lot in the back that is shares with the Baskin Robins right next door, but street parking is readily available. Definitely give this place a shot! I've been to many massage places in the SGV but never one that offered Thai shampoo head massage. Thank you H.M. for taking me here. Mark did my shampoo massage, blow dry , and foot massage. ($30 for 1 hour) My experience was great. He has the best hands for massages and the pressure was perfect. He lathered my hair twice and conditioned and blow dried. He was gentle with my long hair when he brushed it too. It was more of a damp dry but it was good enough since I know my hair takes forever to dry and I didn't want it to cut into my foot massage time. The atmosphere is like most of the SGV foot massage places but this one wasn't overly crowded and very relaxing. The sound of the fish tank was very relaxing. Put me to sleep. I only wish this place was closer to me. Great prices. They take credit cards but it's always better to have cash with these establishments especially when it comes to the tip portion. Can't wait for another lazy Sunday so I can come back to SGV and have a delicious cheap lunch followed by an amazing shampoo and massage. read more

Been going to this spa for years always a quiet and relaxing place to get any stress off from your day

Rude & unprofessional. Been coming here a while only because it's close to home and prices are decent but won't be returning after this last straw. They have a card where you accumulate stamps after every visit. After so many visits, it earns you a free massage. I went in for a massage and used my free massage coupon. When I went to pay with it, the lady gasped and yelled "this one is free?!? Ugh!" All while rolling her eyes and head and increasingly huffing, puffing and pouting. I just looked at her and said "yes" and handed her a tip. She stared at the tip and coupon and pouted more. I could tell she was getting increasingly bothered. I was so uncomfortable. I just said thank you and left. Before I even walked out she started yelling either to herself or to another lady in Chinese and all I could understand was "free!" I was so mad and embarrassed. They shouldn't offer these coupons/rewards if they are going to act like that. Mind you, there are people getting a massages that can hear everything. The employees don't care that the customers are there to relax. On another occasion my aunt went in for a massage and when she paid, the lady counted wrong and yelled "no tip!?!" My aunt did leave a tip. They expect a $10 tip for every service and if you do not pay the minimum that they expect for a tip they will call you out, no, they will yell it out at you in an obscene manner. Anyways, my aunt told her to recount it and walked out and never went back. Just some weird/uncomfortable/unprofessional things they do during your massage: They talk to each other and have conversations, answer their cell phones and have convos, snack on candy, they leave the door open when you are getting a private room massage, they leave the room for a long time and don't make up the time they left you etc. The lady who was rude about the coupon went outside and left my door wide open to talk to a male customer who had line of sight into my room. I have been coming to KM for full body massage for couple years until Covid when they had to close. I was so happy to hear they reopened and the ladies are all vaccinated. They are by appointment only. This place is very quiet and serene. With soft music in the background you always feel feel totally relaxed. Their private rooms are all quite roomy and spacious. My masseuse is Awen and she is extremely experienced. Knows precisely where to apply the strength. I especially enjoy their hot stone therapy which is included in the price. You get one free massage after ten treatments with a stamp card. Have been to several massage places in the San Gabriel valley area and can responsibly state that they are overall the nicest and cleanest, most serene massage place. I feel totally relaxed after each treatment. The owner Michelle is super pleasant, remembers you by name and is always cheerful. That's a real plus for me. I'm confused because another reviewer and KM's outside sign says that a Thai Shampoo is $15 (plus tip) but the actual menu and prices online say that it's $20. I got charged $20. A Thai Shampoo is basically just someone washing your hair for 40 minutes and also giving you a head massage. You're asked to lie down on what looks like a massage table but with your head supported by a neck support thingy (it's actually comfortable). At which they rinse your hair and wash it twice while scratching your head. Then the masseuse massages your head during the conditioning part. For health reasons (ie. lice) they have to wear latex gloves while washing your hair. Afterwards you're led to the back where your masseuse blow dries your hair. Overall my head massage part was great. But I deduced 3 stars because the other masseuses weren't really that "aware" of the customers. For example, when I laid down on the table for the Thai shampoo, a masseuse who was off-duty was playing CS on his laptop right next to my feet. My masseuse asked him to move because the glare from his laptop was right in our faces and he seemed really reluctant to do so. Later I hear intense snoring from the foot massage section of the room. I thought it was one of the customers dozing off due to the massage, but when I got up I saw that the same masseuse had moved over to one of the recliners right next to a customer and was napping and snoring loudly. I felt bad for the customer because she looked like she didn't want to say anything. When we went to the hair drying station someone was sleeping in one of the hair styling chairs and my masseuse woke her up and asked her to move. All of this boggles me because there were other massage rooms open that the extra staff could have used to sleep in. So minus 3 stars for the lack of professionalism. read more

After a long and achy week at work, I finally decided to try out this place. I chose the $40.00 Session: 90mins Thai Head Shampoo and Full Body Massage, and was in total bliss. The lady who did my massage and shampooing was a very sweet, friendly, and cautious (in making sure I was okay and comfortable - even though half of the time, I couldn't figure out what she was saying in Mandarin, but managed to figure it out through the ancient art of pointing and hand gestures, lol). Full Body Massage: They used Vaseline lotion, which dried nicely and left a non greasy feeling on my hands, feet and body. Her hands were very warm and gentle, and bliss started sinking it. The foot massage was amazing! She focused on each of toes and worked her way around the bottom of my feet and then gently scrubbed all around my feet - not only was my feet super clean, but hella white too! The back massage was awesome - she took out all the knotted areas in my body, and for a lil woman, she is hella strong, lol! Usually, I'm not a fan of deep tissue massage, but after the week I had, I welcome it dearly. Thai Head Shampoo: Before the shampooing - opt for the body towel. That way, the masseuse can really get down with scratching, cleaning and massaging without worrying about getting your shirt wet. She shampooed my head twice and then conditioned it, and finally gave me acupressure with nail scratching bliss. OMG ~ amazing!!!! The shampoo and conditioner smells really nice - I think sandalwood? Afterwards, she took me to the back of the shop, and blow dried my hair. She used low heat, and carefully brushed my hair, and asked if I wanted any hairspray or gel. Yes, they're not hairstylists, but at least they got my hair smelling good, fluffy and cleaned :) My masseuse did a great job. Will definitely need to get her name next time! One star off: I got the chair near the door, and the noisy employees and patrons coming and leaving were hella loud. There is usually no wait time and you don't always have to call for an appointment. The ambiance of this place is very oriental, peaceful, and clean. It really makes it easy for you to fall asleep For the Thai shampoo, I always fall asleep. They make you lay down and as they wash your hair and apply shampoo and conditioner, they massage you throughout. Their head massages are great because they take their time to focus on every part of your head and they scratch it too. My head gets itchy so I love when they can alleviate that itch. Then they massage your arms and your entire upper body. When they are doing the massage, you aren't in a private room, but you really don't need to be because they don't require you to take your clothes off so it's okay. After they massage and wash you, they take you to a room in the back and blow dry your hair! Love this especially when I am lazy lol. This session is about 60 min Now for the foot massage. You have to let them know when to go softer because for me I don't like the rough massages that take out the kinks. I just wanna feel good. So don't be afraid to speak up. I'm really ticklish so I always say to go light on my feet. The foot massage includes: massaging of the arms, legs, back, neck, and head. They spend about 15 minutes on these parts. It's very good to do these once in a while because you can feel the looseness in your tendons after. The entire massage is 60 min Overall this place gets the job done for a low price. Foot massage is like 20 w/ tip included and Thai shampoo 40/ with tip included. They even serve hot tea after if you like. And you can lie down for as long as you want.
