I took my lil mama in ‍ for her annual teeth cleaning yesterday, second time she's had it done here. They did an amazing job on her teeth !! Amazing!! I know she was in great paws with Dr. Reagan, he's the best, very kind and a great vet and I'm sure a great kind soul for animals, he has a calm demeanor, all the vet techs are fabulous and sweet, front staff is always fantastic. I was so worried all day, but there's nothing to worry about. They do bloodwork and pre screens, X-rays (if necessary and only with your consent beforehand) to make sure your baby is healthy enough for anesthesia. . I'm very pleased with the staff there. If you're debating yes or no getting your cat's teeth cleaned, please do yes, just like humans it is absolutely necessary for their long term health. My baby is back to her diva self doing Mach 5 midnight zoomies and walking around like she owns the joint (she does, my family and I are just acceptable staff). Thank you foothill animal hospital team! Two paws up (side note , I've been going here for 20+ years... my two previous fur babies who got old and passed on, and my current fur baby who's 5).

They set up the room To make you feel welcome

Update: pickle has been doing amazing since Dr. Regan prescribed him a compound ear anti nausea medicine! Thank you Dr. Regan for thinking of prescribing pickle this ear ointment. It's done wonders for pickle and he has been eating, drinking, feeling great and put some healthy weight back on!! we are so thankful.

Ruby feeling the most at ease she ever has been at a Veterinarian's office!

I cannot say enough great things about this vet! In fact, I never realized I wasn't getting the best service at previous veterinarians until I tried this one. These dogs I have now are my first, and it's taken some research, trial and error, and a bit of figuring out! Although I can't claim to have tried it all, everything about the Foothill Animal Hospital and Dr. McCarthy was like a breath of fresh air. The location is nestled in the heart of South Orange County, with major crossroads of El Toro & Portola (right across from Saddleback Church and not far from the Lake Forest Sports Park)! I actually didn't even realize how convenient and close it was until I took my doggie in. The service was top-notch and above and beyond. My puppy, Ruby, is a little bit of a problem child when she it comes to going to the vet- she's had to have many visits in the past and gets very scared and anxious. The staff here did wonders to put her nerves at ease, with treats and amazing service. Even when Ruby was on edge, they were understanding and sympathetic to all her "spunk," as I like to call it. I really appreciated how streamlined and modern the service was as well; anything from appointment reminders, patient forms, a summary of the visit, prescription information, and detailed thorough notes from the doctor on how to proceed were emailed directly to me. It wasn't all cold and digital though - I had real folks making plenty of personalized phone calls to confirm our appointments, summarize the visit, and follow up afterwards. There is a huge effort to pay lots of attention to the client before and after the appointment - this strong line of communication is nice in any industry and is the mark of a good business with great customer relations. At previous vets we've tried, there wasn't much follow-up or follow-through. This was the most noticeable difference with Dr. McCarthy at Foothill Animal Hospital. Really truly I'd like to especially highlight Dr. McCarthy's impressive attention to detail and over abundance of thoroughness. She posed questions and gave information that no one else had ever touched on in the past. She left a detailed voicemail recapping our visit as well as a comprehensive, yet concise written report. She will be personally calling me again when Ruby's lab results come in. Her love and passion for animals shows, and she embodies Foothill Animal Hospital's mantra that they will "treat our pets as if they were theirs."

Foothill Animal Hospital is consistent with their excellent service! I know I can count on the staff and Dr Reagan to give my pets the best care. They are knowledgeable, caring, helpful, and consistent. I'm grateful to have them caring for my pets.

Saved our Kitty! We live in San Diego & one morning our cat got out, hopped in the back of my husband's truck and took a ride up to Lake Forest. Cat jumped out on the 5 freeway and someone rescued her and brought her to Fotthill Animal Hospital. The hospital was quick to check for a microchip, found our phone number, and got ahold of us. Our broken hearts were quickly rejoicing in the miracle that our cat was ok and was taken care of by a caring hospital. If we lived nearby, we would become regular clients.

Dr. Reagan is over the top best vet around! He has been our vet for the past fifteen years, and also given us quality care and accurate assessments! He always spends time to discuss options, remembers my specific pets and their history, shares the x-rays and results and reviews them with me on the screen to educate me and help to make the best choices. We can always expect full focus and individualized treatment. We always leave with a copy of the results for our files. The doctor always discusses options and risks, never pushes an agenda. Recently he saved my dog's life, again! I brought him there because he was tired, my friends said I was crazy, but he was sleeping more than ever. Dr. Reagan did all of the right things, including full blood test and said, "He's at 13% red blood cells, you need to get him to the hospital for a blood transfusion right now!" I was terrified, and confused, I said, you can't treat him here? He said, I can, but also gave me the risks, noting that the hospital is the only place he can get a transfussion, and that time was of the essence. At that point, I agreed. No risks, I'll go! He called the hospital to tell them we were on our way and to rush us in, which they did the minute we walked through the door! Turns out, my dog ate some pesticides and his white blood cells were killing his red blood cells. He developed IMHA from being poisoned, which is life threatening. Now I'm on an online forum with thousands of people with pets that have IMHA. There are hundreds of cases where several vets didn't run the blood or act in time, and it cost the dog their lives. If you love your animal, take him to a place like this, where they care about your animal as much as you do!

I wrote a review earlier this month, but do not see it featured here on Yelp. Trying again... Dr. Reagan it's a terrific veterinarian, but this post is mainly to highlight those that do so much, but get little in the way of credit. The ladies of the front office at this Animal Hospital are compassionate and caring, each and every one of them. I was recently hospitalized with bacterial pneumonia and a collapsed lung. After a six day stay in the hospital, I returned home to find my Toodles with a medical condition of his own that was causing him a lot of anxiety. I telephoned and had an appointment for 15 minutes later (the drive only took only 5 minutes). When I arrived the ladies were prompt in taking Toodles from me as they could see I was weak and struggling. They took my payment and after voicing their concern as to my welfare helped me to the car with Toodles. Kindness is free, but today finding it is rare. I appreciate this Hospital and Dr. Reagan and their care of my fur-baby, and I appreciate these ladies who go out of their way to take care not only of Toodles but me as well! Thank you ladies! Signed: Toodles and Shari

This was my very first time doing any sort of dog care so I was really worried about leaving them. They did really well and my other dog had so much fun (he's a social butterfly). The main reason I chose this place vs all the other dog boarding is because they offer a "home" living experience rather than a facility/warehouse. My dogs always freely roams the house and lays on our bed, couch, wherever they please so I wanted something similar and Wendy's house provided that. I couldn't bare the thought of them being kept in a narrow sleeping quarter locked throughout the day. Thank you for taking great care of my babies! August 11th The Day We Lost Louie…read more Our six-year-old French Bulldog, Louie, died from heatstroke just two and a half hours into what we were told would be a four-hour trial day at this daycare. We were told the purpose of the trial was simply to see whether Louie could get along with other dogs. We were never told that he would be taken to a dog park or participate in strenuous outdoor activity. We chose this daycare because the owner told us she owns a French Bulldog herself, and because the daycare had very good reviews. We trusted that our French Bulldog would be understood and properly cared for. What happened that day is something we will never forget. 9:00 AM -- We dropped Louie off for his four-hour trial. 9:30 AM -- Just 30 minutes later, Louie was taken to a dog park for outdoor activity without our knowledge. We had never been told that he would be taken off the daycare premises or to a dog park. The temperature that day ranged from approximately 77°F to 85°F. 10:18 AM -- According to the daycare, Louie vomited after the activity. We were not informed when it happened. 11:30 AM -- More than an hour after he vomited, we received a photo of his vomit. At the same time, we were communicating about payment and completing a reservation for his future stay. We were given no indication that Louie was experiencing a potentially life-threatening emergency. 11:45 AM -- We received a phone call telling us that Louie was not breathing. 12:00 PM -- Louie was pronounced dead from heatstroke. Our dog went into the daycare alive and healthy at 9:00 AM. By noon, he was dead. What is especially devastating is what we learned afterward. We were told that they had never seen Louie breathing so heavily before. We were also told that they had tried giving him water, but he was vomiting. For a French Bulldog, excessive panting, vomiting, and difficulty breathing in hot conditions can be serious warning signs of overheating and heatstroke. French Bulldogs are particularly vulnerable to heat because of their shortened airways and difficulty cooling themselves efficiently through panting. Yet during the critical period when Louie was apparently struggling, we received no immediate warning and no update about his condition. The owner was also not present at the daycare at the time. We later learned that she had a doctor's appointment, which contributed to a delay in communication. While the adults were dealing with schedules, appointments, and communication, Louie was suffering--and we knew nothing. This was supposed to be a simple four-hour trial to see whether Louie could socialize with other dogs. We never agreed to have him taken to a dog park in temperatures reaching 85°F. We never imagined that he would be subjected to strenuous outdoor activity in hot weather. We are devastated that Louie was placed in this situation while in someone else's care. We trusted this daycare because we believed they understood French Bulldogs. That trust was shattered in the worst possible way. Louie was in their care. We trusted them to keep him safe. We expected him to come home. He never did. Louie was not just a dog. He was part of our family, and we will never get him back.

Last year, we brought them frequently and always felt confident leaving them there. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the facility felt clean, and our dogs always seemed happy to be there. That's why it's so disappointing to see how much things have changed since the ownership transition. Since the change in ownership, we've noticed a significant decline in the overall experience. The staff no longer feels as friendly or approachable. While there are still a few kind employees, several team members come across as cold and unhelpful, making drop-off feel uncomfortable and even a bit intimidating. It no longer feels like the warm, welcoming environment it once was. We've also noticed the facility doesn't seem nearly as clean as it used to be. Our dogs consistently come home smelling strongly of urine after daycare. We occasionally check the live cameras throughout the day and frequently see urine sitting on the playroom floors for extended periods before being cleaned up. If messes in the common play areas are left unattended, it raises concerns about how often the kennels are being cleaned when the dogs are resting. Combined with the odor our dogs come home with, it has made us question the overall cleanliness of the facility. Another noticeable change is how little time our dogs now seem to spend in the play areas. We'll pay for a half-day of daycare, and by the time we pick them up, we're lucky if they've spent more than 30 minutes interacting with other dogs. The majority of their visit appears to be spent kenneled. We choose daycare because we want our dogs to have a safe, clean environment where they can socialize and play. If they're spending most of their visit in a kennel, it's difficult to justify paying for daycare when they could be comfortably resting at home in a cleaner environment for free. Customer service has also become frustrating. Recently, one of our dogs came home without his collar. We didn't realize it until we got home, so we called the facility and were told someone would call us back because they were too busy at the moment. We never received a callback. After calling several more times over the next few days without getting an answer, we ultimately had to drive to the facility ourselves just to ask about and retrieve the collar. Pickup has also become much slower than it used to be, often requiring a long wait before our dogs are brought out. We're genuinely disappointed because we loved this location for a long time and trusted the team with our pets. Unfortunately, since the ownership change, we've experienced a noticeable decline in cleanliness, customer service, and the overall level of care. We recently started bringing our two dogs to daycare at Paw Sweet Paw at the Irvine Spectrum…read moreCenter, and we couldn't be happier with our experience in especially because of Ian. Our little family includes George, our Frenchie who recently underwent back surgery, and Waldo, our Portuguese Water Dog/Poodle mix who struggles with extreme anxiety. Leaving them anywhere can be stressful for us, but Ian immediately put our minds at ease. He is incredibly friendly, professional, and, most importantly, genuinely wonderful with our dogs. He takes the time to understand their individual needs and treats them with such patience and care. With George's recovery and Waldo's anxiety, that extra attentiveness means everything to us. It's clear Ian truly loves what he does, and it shows in the way our pups light up when they see him. We keep coming back because of Ian and the way he treats George and Waldo. I'm sure the entire team is just as kind, but Ian consistently goes above and beyond, and we are so grateful to have found someone we trust with our babies.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS FOR THE RESEARCH LOCATION. We have taken our dog here for quite some time and…read morewere overall pretty happy. That changed this last time the owners sold the company and the new owners took over, as things have definitely gone downhill, which brings me to this review specifically. This past Thursday, July 2nd, I swung by Paw Sweet Paw on my way home to pick up my dog, since my wife dropped her off for a half day. I told the young lady at the front I was here to pick up Boba, and she said, "I'll be right back with Boba."I waited for 15 minutes for her to return, and when she did, she did not have my dog with her, and she stated something like, "they are in the process of moving the dogs". Some more time goes by, and a manager walks by, and I am livid by this point, and I said, "Where is my flippin dog, although I didn't use flippin. She said, " Please hold on for one minute and she walked away and went upstairs. By this point, it had been a half hour, and not to mention there was another gentleman there to drop off his dog, and he had been waiting 15 minutes. Some more time goes by, and I told the lady at the front that I was walking to the back to get my dog, and you can call whoever you want, but this is BS. When I opened up the gate and was proceeding to walk back, the manager came walking down the steps, and again, I said Where the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ HELL is my dog, to which she replied, I don't know how to tell you this, but WE GAVE YOUR DOG TO THE WRONG PERSON. Needless to say, I lost it, and I said, how the hell is that even POSSIBLE on your end, let alone the person that took my dog home. Who the hell picks up their dog and realizes that this is not my dog and takes it home?????? The Manager said that somehow either she lost her paper collar or someone neglected to read the name on the collar and handed her off to another staff member, and they are the ones that gave her to the wrong owner.....When the new owners of Paw Sweet Paw took over, they implemented this paper tag collar policy, and when you check your dog in, they take the regular collars off of the dog and put a paper collar on the dog. I think it is absolutely ridiculous, but somehow, they believe it's to protect the dogs in case they get in a fight or something, to which I still don't understand. By this point, I cannot even see straight, and I am basically yelling at the Manager as to where my dog is and who the hell is going to get her. She said, "I just spoke to the owner, and I am driving to her house right now to get Boba." The lady that took my dog had two dogs, so as the manager was leaving, I said You might want to go back and get her dog..... She said it would take her about 15 minutes to get to the lady's house and 15 minutes back. Finally, after well over an hour, I got my dog back!!!!!!.. Needless to say, she was extremely anxious and was panting very heavily all the way home, and her heart was racing as well. She finally settled down later that night.....I am not sure what dogs think, but I believe Boba might've been thinking she was being abandoned because she has never been anywhere except Paw Sweet Paw. All in all, I think it was about a 1.5-hour ordeal (nightmare). The Manager said she started 3 weeks ago, apologized profusely, and said she is going to rectify the problem so that it never happens again. She also said that the District Manager would be calling my wife, because by this time, my wife had come down as well. They did call later on that night from a blocked number and left a message with no number to call back. We're still waiting for her to call back. It really sucks because this is the only place we have ever taken Boba, and she actually likes it there cause she is not locked up all day and can play with other dogs. My dog is already anxious, so the idea of finding a new boarding place is less than desirable, but I might have no choice.

I am so extremely satisfied with Jessica's services that I needed to leave a review immediately…read more(just picked up my pup from getting groomed about 30 minutes ago). I found Jessica through a google search which led me to her yelp page, once I found out more about the services she offered on her site, and that she was nearby I reached out for a quote via yelp. She was very responsive, was able to fit me in within a few days, very straight forward and notified me of what to expect and arriving before the appt to complete paperwork & review the groom service. I took Lucky in this morning, was greeted immediately, checked in and after Jessica assessed Lucky's condition she notified me that he had very matted fur and what she could do/not do depending on the severity of the fur once she started with the grooming, and what to expect from the groom. I like that she thoroughly informed me of the situation, what my options were and that it would cost more due to the added work to de-matt him and the sensitivities that lucky could experience so she would have to be even more meticulous with the grooming. I picked him up in 2.5 hours and she went though how he needed to be shaven all around because of how matted his fur was, where he could experience irritation (what else to expect) and if I need to take him to the vet due to further irritation because of the condition of his skin from the matted fur. Overall I was floored by her knowledge but also very personable nature (something I have not experienced with a previous groomer). I'm so much more informed (as I had inherited lucky and am a new pet owner, so still learning). She even honored the price she had originally quoted me at which I thought was extremely generous given the nature of the groom. I can't wait to have lucky come back to be groomed and well taken care of by Jessica!
