Brian came by with his helper, and quickly figured out that my problem was a loose valve that just needed to be tightened. Foothill Plumbing is very professional and service oriented. I needed a water line installed for my ice making refrigerator. Mike (owner) drove over personally on the same day to provide an estimate. He is very courteous and took the time needed to write up a clear estimate. He explained the work very clearly and I did not feel any pressure to make a hasty decision. He and one of his crew were efficient and did the work quickly while protecting our kitchen. After he hooked up the water line to the refrigerator, we learned that my refrigerator was damaged during the move. After we spent 10 minutes looking at it, I was ready to throw in the towel and deal with the bad refrigerator another day. What I really enjoyed about my experience is that Mike continued to diagnose the refrigerator and within 10 minutes fixed the problem without any up-charge. It turned out to be a pinched water line and loose sensor on the frige. I really appreciate this kind of work ethic and customer service. read more

On the day of the move with the truck expected any moment we tried to remove the water lines of the washing machine only to find out that the laundry valve was frozen and now gushing water all over the kitchen and laundry area. Never got to the point of using them. Had an emergency situation on a Saturday night and was just going down the list of plumbers. Had heard of Foothill Plumbing and actually had been recommended to them as they had done work on our home previous to us taking residence. I figured no one would answer but maybe they had some emergency line. A guy answered and was very put off by what, to me, was an emergency (a pile of sewage on the side of my house and any waste water going there, not into the sewage pipes). I told him the situation and he said "what do you want me to do about it?" To which I said, "I don't know, help? I'm not a plumber so you tell me." He then said he was at a friends wedding and couldn't do anything for me. Had the empathy of a rock. I wanted to say something to the effect of, "don't answer the flipping phone then" but was too shocked to even say anything except for "ok, thanks for nothing, I guess". If I would have heard an ounce of customer service or understanding I would never write this review. I mean, I get it- it's a Saturday night. I didn't expect anything but a little advice of how to get through the night or how serious the issue was,- I had no idea and your the expert. At the very least, a bit of kindness in the tone of the I can't help you. I got a cocky attitude that told me you didn't give a crap (pun intended) about getting my business. So you didn't and another company was paid handsomely for our plumbing issue and more. There are a lot of positive reviews so I have no doubt the company does qualified work. We had a sudden loss of hot water in our business which has many sinks. The first two plumbers out did not have the patience to actually analyze the problem. One even charged us $400 to replace a part that later turned out to be fine. On a recommendation from a general contractor we know, we called Mike who was able to come the next business day. He really took the time to explore our hot water setup which includes a hot water return loop with all its many parts. He spent a couple hours methodically eliminating various causes. I used to troubleshoot computer networks for a living, and I can tell you he is a great troubleshooter, even in complicated situations. Mike eventually discovered that our original plumbing installer had made 3 mistakes installing the hot water return loop, and that the cold water inlet to the hot water heater had rusted over and was blocked. No other plumber had bothered to look at the cold water inlet. Mike and the company that makes the water heater have never seen a rusted cold water inlet before and Mike spent quite a while on the phone with their support people talking through the problem with them and making the claim that we are owed a replacement unit. Mike was friendly, knowledgeable and available. What more could you ask for? Oh right, he also cleaned up after himself quite neatly. I would highly recommend Foothill plumbing, even for a business with more needs than typical residential. read more

I had a pretty severe leak in my front yard so I called FootHill Plumbing since we've had a wonderful experience in the past - they've worked at my house over the years on several different projects. it just seems like they've gotten too big to provide the same level of service they used to. Mike came out to look at the leak, took one look, then said he had to go work on something else. He said he'd come the next day. On the second day, I got a call around 3 pm saying that he won't be able to come out because he was too busy. I asked when they could come help and was told that they're short handed and the rest of the week was booked up. This was on a Tuesday! I totally understand prioritizing jobs and would have been more accepting if I had a minor issue, but I had a major issue and they were too busy to help. Maybe my job was too messy for them? I guess they're enjoying good business and can pick and choose their work, but I can no longer rely on them. read more
