Really great mom and pop donut shop in Roseville! The donuts are large and very fluffy without the oily flavor. The toppings aren't overly sweet either so you won't get overwhelmed. Makes it dangerous cuz before you know it, you've killed 2 or 3. The bacon chocolate bar is bomb btw and I think they freshly fry the bacon before throwing it on the donut when you order it. Best Donut Shop in town run by the friendliest people! Mary rocks! Food- 5/5. I always get a Chocolate Tiger Tail and a Chocolate Butterfly! This is the only donut shop I have seen that carries these two styles and one of them is big enough to be two donuts! My Husband and Stepdaughter like the Bacon Maple Bars and French Donuts. Everything is great and they have a huge selection! Atmosphere- 3/5. Typical older Donut Shop, clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy but no complaints! Service- 5/5. Mary is super friendly and helpful! She always recognizes me and engages me in conversation, I love her! She always sneaks in a free donut too :) Vegetarian Friendly- 5/5. This is, BY FAR, the BEST donut shop in Roseville!! Their donuts are made fresh onsite every morning (unlike Dunkin Donuts who receive their donuts frozen). Foothills Donuts is owned & operated and operated by a local West Roseville family who has been a part of our community for over 20 years!! You have to go in and ask for a "Maple Butterfly". Get a life, donuts are an early morning thing and if you come early enough you'll get in on the goodness! I came before 6AM today and they had all the donuts you could want plus donut holes that were warm. The owner is as nice, cannot be upset with them! Simple hole in the wall donut spot. Like in all my donut shop reviews, I personally judge a donut shop based mainly on their apple fritters. The apple fritters at Foothill Donuts are good sized but a little too soft on the outside. For me there's not enough crunch to them. The inside is moist and has good chunks of apple and the right touch of cinnamon. The other donuts I tasted were moist and not dry and that's always a good sign. I went at 9:15 or so and their selection was limited so I'm guessing you need to go early to get the better selection as it seems like a popular spot. The lady who helped me was nice and friendly. They do charge $1.00 extra for credit card use and that's a bummer but I understand fees can be high and they want to keep costs down. However, that's too much just to use a credit card. So I dinged 1 star for the lack of crunchiness on the fritters and 1 star for the $1.00 surcharge for the credit card use. read more

This seems like your normal everyday doughnut shop.....and it is, but they have a line out the door every morning and especially on weekends. Seriously....out the door. Same 2 people every time and she must see thousands of people, but she acts like she remembers you....and probably does. She will make it a point to give you an extra doughnut with a little "nod of acknowledgement". I like a business owner like that. I enjoy feeling like Norm from Cheers. Anyway, always the same typical doughnuts, but what makes her special is that if she runs out of a specific type, she will ask you if you want to wait for 10 minutes, she will go put some in the fryer in the back, and you can get warm and fresh of your choice, if willing to wait. This is a really cute neighborhood doughnut shop, tucked away in the Bel Air center at Foothills and Baseline. The doughnuts we had were fresh, the dough was soft and fluffy, and the icing was just sweet enough to make it indulgent. I liked how clean the store was, albeit a little small, and it's nice that they have tables for dining in. My major complaint: the price. Holy cow, these doughnuts are pricey! A fancy dozen will run you nearly $20 at this establishment. Even though this is right around the corner from us, we prefer to make the drive to Jasmine's in Rocklin where the doughnuts are just as fresh, the service is excellent, and the doughnuts are half the price. read more
