The Hubster, MIL, and I popped in here for a late lunch today…read more What a cute little bakery/cafe this is. It's located inside a strip mall, so there is plenty of parking. It is rather tiny on the inside with only three tables of two. So if you are wanting to sit and eat, you need to be a small party, or take your food with you to go. Thankfully there was plenty of room when we arrived for our party of three. Their decor is cute with plenty o goose to view, as well as their baked goods. Since it was our maiden voyage here we did ask the nice gal who was at the register for a couple of recommendations which we took. The hubster tried the Ham and Peach Grilled Cheese, the MIL did the Pick Two which included a half Rosemary Chicken Sandwich and the Strawberry Poppyseed salad, I also got the Pick Two and chose half Citrus Club Sandwich and the Street Corn Cesar salad. Everything was made fresh to order and was incredibly tasty! The hubster and I also shared a Cherry Limeade Summer Sipper which was divine. We decided we could not leave with out taking a few goodies with us for later. So we bought a Lemon Bar, a Blackberry Cheesecake Bar, and a Chocolate Sea Salt Shortbread. We don't venture to Rocklin on a regular basis, but when we do, it's nice to know where to go and to support a small business like this. Give them a try. You will be impressed too!

Friendly staff and a cute interior my only complaint is that is closes so early! We can't get that turkey pesto fix past 4PM. Overall, good experience.

Wonderful sandwiches with online ordering so it's easy and convenient for a quick pickup. Service…read morewas perfunctory & efficient, with warm friendliness towards regulars from what I perceived. Clean storefront with plenty of tables and homey Americana decor. My initial visit I ordered from their "vintage" menu. I got Erik's B.L.A.S.T. with bacon, Arcadian lettuce, avocado, clover sprouts, Secret Goo and tomato on toasted sourdough. They accidentally forgot the clover sprouts on my order. I love sprouts, so I was a bit disappointed when I realized they were missing. However the sandwich was great so it didn't ruin the meal. I loved their special tuna sandwich, called the Ocean Avenue, which was a delicious concoction. Made with tuna salad, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, clover sprouts, and sweet hot mustard on swirl rye bread. The ingredients were all fresh & tasty. Another winner I just consumed was the Ciao Down, made with the softest Dutch Crunch I've ever eaten. I appreciated having the roof of my mouth intact! The combination of ingredients (salami, turkey, Swiss, tomato, onions, clover sprouts, basil pesto) gave me salty, vinegary, sour, and savory, with just a mild spicy kick from the hot cherry peppers. Whatever you do, don't skip the carrot cake! It is the best carrot cake I've ever had. I actually wondered if they outsourced it, but it turns out it's a proprietary family recipe. Made with carrots, pineapples, cream cheese frosting, and walnuts. It tastes homemade and perfectly balanced.

But, the pastrami was perfect- leaner cut, smoked tender meat, pickled cabbage, and the best texture and toasted bread. Easily...my favorites pastrami sandwich in the region. Service was very good. First of all, I will compliment our server. He could have been a bit more attentive when he…read morerealized our dinner had gone off the rails, but this is not on him. His kitchen failed him We started with a gem caesar salad so heavy with anchovies we could not eat it. First bad sign Dinner took over an hour and half to arrive (second bad sign). My wife ordered a pesto pasta dish, and I ordered the evenings special: a New York strip. My wife's dish came lukewarm at best. The pasta got clumpy as it stuck together. I find it hard to believe this was fresh. When I ordered my steak, the server asked if medium rare was ok. Of course, I said "yes" (is there another way to order a steak). The streak came to the table WELL DONE (third bad sign). Who does that to a 28 day dry aged steak?? I could have a steak like this at Applebees. My server agreed and offered to take it back. In hindsight, I should have sent it back and walked, but it had been over an hour and half, and I was hungry. The restaurant did take $$ off the bill, so kudos, but I will never go there again and will tell as many people as I can to avoid the place
