It's been a while since I've gone for a massage and I was really excited to lay down and relax. Overall I think this place was good and pricing was on par with the service. I went for the massage plus facial package and I'd recommend skipping the facial. My mom had the same thing and ended up with product on her face that didn't come off for a while. As for the massage, the masseuses are following a routine and don't customize it to you. BUT, if that's what you're looking for, it's great! The benefit of the facial was that you get some more massage during that time as well. My comments may not sound like 4 stars but pricing is a lot lower than other places and I think everyone was nice and did what was expected. I had a very disappointing experience here. I brought my mom in for a relaxing day and specifically requested a full-body massage. Unfortunately, there was a significant communication issue, and despite explaining what we wanted, she ended up receiving only a foot massage for the entire hour. We didn't get the service we paid for or requested, and it completely ruined what was supposed to be a special experience for my mom. I have given this business multiple opportunities and have seen several different therapists over time, but unfortunately my experiences have been consistently mediocre. I was giving chances in hope I find a good therapist while filling my visit stamp card. One of the biggest challenges has been communication. I often find it difficult to effectively communicate the specific areas of pain and the massage techniques I need for relief. Even when I carefully mark the body diagram beforehand and explain my preferences, I leave uncertain whether my concerns were fully understood or addressed. For example, I specifically requested upper-body work using NO elbow pressure, but those requests were often disregarded. They also glide against my back so much I felt bruised. I also found that the combination of deep tissue and Swedish massage was not performed effectively to work on the fascia and remove knots properly. Instead of experiencing relief, I frequently felt increased soreness and discomfort within an hour after leaving my appointment. I was also disappointed by an experience with red light therapy. Before booking, I asked how the treatment would be incorporated into the session and was told it would be used throughout the full 60-minute appointment and moved to different areas. In reality, it was only used for approximately 30 minutes before being set aside for the remainder of the session. From a patient's perspective, understanding pain patterns, anatomy, physiology, and proper therapeutic techniques is critical to providing effective treatment. Based on my experiences, I often questioned whether some staff members had the level of training necessary to deliver personalized therapeutic care, esp when it is hard to be understood. Another difficult aspect is gratuity. At the end of a session, I often feel obligated to leave a tip because the service moment. However, after reflecting on the experience--or after the pain and discomfort set in later--I realize the treatment did not provide meaningful relief. This leaves me feeling conflicted, both for the therapist and for myself as a customer. Ultimately, when seeking massage therapy, health and well-being should be the priority. I hope management takes this feedback as an opportunity to improve therapist training, communication, and treatment customization so clients receive care that truly addresses their individual needs. read more

Despite mixed reviews, I made an appointment for a prenatal massage. At check in, it seemed like staff were unaware of my appointment. My concerns were legitimate when my masseuse walked in to the massage room, and when I asked her for more cushions and/or pillows (the massage bed is as stiff as a board and there is no pillow, only the cushion they use for face down massages), she told me I would start off face down first. I told her I was pregnant, and she confirmed that she did not know. By this point, I was still cautiously giving them a try, but this was making me a little weary. The massage was lackluster... it was more of a generalized light rubbing with some parts feeling like a soft touch. I asked for more pressure, but didn't get it. I thought the pressure was a concern because of pregnancy, but when she continued on to massage my calves and feet (usually off limits when pregnant due to pressure points that are believed to induce labor), that's when I figured maybe it can all be chalked up to not having much experience. Came here because the other location was fully booked. This location has scarce parking on site but can go to the neighboring businesses. The vibe and atmosphere were soothing and calming. This menu is from the other location but it's literally the same business so they use this one as well. The communal massage hit the spot after a long day. They advertise it as I can choose where to focus on my back or feet but when requested there was a bit of resistance which was upsetting. Came here on a Wednesday with my partner and did a 90 minute foot massage combo with back and neck. The price definitely has gone up to $90 with cash for 90 minutes. Fair price increase given the cost of everything but unfortunately, the foot massage was a big miss. The girls were lack luster and not putting much effort in pressure and just rubbing lotion on feet assuming we were asleep. I had to move my arms a few times to let them know I'm awake but the pressure was still weak. Additionally, they were watching a video on their phone while doing the massage so you can see they were not attentive at all. At $90 for 90 minutes, I expect more as I rather just go to an actual massage therapist and pay $200 for 90 minutes as you know you'll get much better treatment. One other thing that irked me was that we gave a $15 cash tip to each person helping us which is above 15%. The lady had the audacity to look at us and say, $5 more please. I'm like, huh? I responded and said the massage was NOT good. This is not a place I will return to and to ask your customer to give you more cash tip is not good business practice. read more

Hot stones are included automatically with all body massages, and all treatments are customizable. So you don't really purchase a "deep tissue" or "swedish" massage, you just ask the masseuse to adjust the pressure to your desired level. The couples room had three massage beds inside, comfortable temperature, and soothing melodies playing in the background. My bf and I prefer deep tissue, and got medium to hard pressure from our massage therapists. My masseuse did a good job with the knots on my back, using mainly her elbows and forearms. I've been a long time customer of their Calaveras location so when they opened another location, I knew I had to come check it out. This location is on Main Street with its own private parking lot with no more than 10 parking spots. The interior is clean and simple. Its not outlandishly extravagant but it feels new enough, especially considering this part of town. The restroom is clean and maintained well. When I came in on a Friday, I was welcomed warmly. I asked for a walk in 60 minute massage and then paid upfront at the cashier. I was offered the restroom and then guided to my private room. The room itself is on the warmer side. It doesn't feel like the air conditioning is very strong. The spa music was calm and relaxing adding to the ambiance. The only things in the room were a massage table, small cubby with towels, and a rolling chair. There wasn't really much space to put belongings. After my massage, my masseuse thanked me and waited outside to say goodbye. The masseuse was Angela and she was absolutely amazing. Her firm pressure and strong hands really impressed me. She was very thorough and helped me get the knots out of my lower back. She was polite and professional the whole time. I would definitely ask for her again. One thing that could be improved is more storage space or cubby for customers to place their clothes/belongings in. Also the face pillow could be a bit more comfortable. If you bring cash, you can get a discount which I highly recommend. The quality of the massages are top notch and you really can't beat these prices anywhere else in the Bay Area. I came here exactly a week ago & I had a very disappointing experience at Footlax Spa in Milpitas on Milpitas Blvd. My husband and I booked a couples massage, and from the start, the ambiance was far from relaxing -- it was incredibly loud, with people talking and phones ringing in the background. Definitely not the peaceful spa atmosphere we were hoping for. I had a female masseuse who honestly didn't seem trained in proper massage techniques. She just kept rubbing the same areas repeatedly without applying any real pressure or doing anything therapeutic. It felt more like someone randomly moving their hands around than an actual massage. What made it worse -- and honestly uncomfortable -- was how she kept attempting these awkward spine stretches that felt invasive. When she pulled my back up to stretch my spine, it would expose my chest, and when she tried to twist my leg over for a back crack, the sheet would come off, leaving me nearly exposed in my underwear. I had to constantly adjust the towel and sheet myself just to preserve some modesty. It didn't feel respectful or professional at all. My husband had a male masseuse and didn't experience anything like this, which makes me even more uncomfortable looking back. I've had massages in both the Philippines and Thailand over the past few years, so I came in with pretty high expectations--especially after my girlfriend said this place was even better than some of the massages we had overseas. We booked a couples massage (two tables in one room) as a relaxing date. Right away, the woman at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. She asked if we wanted two female therapists or one male and one female. We requested two females, but just before the massage started, she let us know only one male and one female were available. That was fine with us--I was open to the experience since I'd never had a male massage therapist before. Unfortunately, the massage itself fell short. The male therapist talked throughout the session, didn't ask about pressure, and it felt more like lotion was being rubbed in than a real massage. There was no real pressure or technique--it just didn't feel effective. On top of that, the massage wasn't even on both sides of my body. At times he focused more on the right side, and other times more on the left. It felt off-balance and unprofessional. My girlfriend, on the other hand, said her massage was great. So I'm willing to give the place another try, but I'll definitely request a female therapist next time. I told them how I wanted someone who's strong pressure, they recommend me someone and said if the pressure needs adjustment let them know. I asked for the combo body/foot massage with hot stone. Nina was wonderful, she really applied pressure and got all the right spots with a good flow. During my massage, there was NO hot stone at all. So after my massage, I looked at the service menu to make sure I asked for a service with hot stone, which I did. I left with my body feeling nice and relaxed but some what disappointed because there was no hot stone used on me when it says the treatment comes with it. I paid for a service on the menu and did not fully get what was supposed to come with it, because of that I almost did not want to tip due to false advertisement. Not only that, when I was told the cost will be $50, I gave $60 expecting to get my change but instead she took me straight back to the room. I asked for my change and she said ok but still took me to the room first. After I laid down and she covered me with a towel she came back a couple minutes later with my change and put it on my stuff. From the moment I handed my money and didn't get my change back, I was stuck in my head if I was going to get my $10 change and I felt stuck in that anxiety up until she came back with it. I'm glad she just didn't wait until after my massage to give me my change, because I definitely wouldn't have enjoyed it. Paid for a 90 minute foot massage and out of the 90 mins, about 10 mins felt like what you would expect. The rest of the time she literally just applied lotion to my feet and legs--what? I could put lotion on my own feet at home. Also, the doorbell rang two times during the 90 mins. This was very opposite of relaxing. There were two of us, and both our massages were just lotioning. Want lotion, come, if you want a massage, go somewhere else. Not worth $170 (base price plus both of our tips). read more
