I went in to get a prescription checked back in December. It's now the middle of February and I still don't have my new contacts. It's been a very frustrating process. 1. They misdiagnosed an old corneal scar for a current ulcer, causing 4 repeat and unnecessary appointments, refilling an unnecessary prescription twice, and finally an appointment with an ophthalmologist who confirmed and I quote "your eyes are perfectly healthy." 2. For three out of the four appointments they were running more than 40 minutes late. I really didn't appreciate leaving work early so I could be on time only to have to wait for nearly an hour. 3. I had to wait almost two weeks for a pair of trial contact lenses with no option to speed that timing up, even though I offered to pay for rush shipment because I was leaving the country. When it's time for another check-up I will definitely be looking elsewhere. read more

I walked in with broken glasses (from a different optical retailer) and asked if I could get help by fixing the stem with the screw that fell out. Jessica, the manager, helped me immediately & so attentively while quickly replacing the semi-stripped screw and fully adjusting my pair of glasses (other retailer didn't even do that for me when replacing the lenses!) This level of EXCELLENT customer service is so refreshing to experience. I felt like Jessica truly wanted to help - loves her job - and when sharing what For Eyes offers was not pushy at all, just sharing. I opted for this company/store because of location convenience and the possibility to schedule appointments online. It turns out online system shows one-day a week only appointments available. When I called to reconfirm my appointment, I was told that the online system is not accurate and it does not reflect the doctor's availability, so even if you make an appointment and the system confirms it, they will call you to re-schedule it. So basically, almost impossible to make an appointment in advance either over the phone nor online, while the online system is still up but it is useless. read more

I don't understand how someone can give a bad review after having one good experience here and one bad experience. Don't you at least need to have a tie breaker? I came here with my two boys, all of us had a great exam experience and the salespeople didn't hover over us or push us to buy anything above what insurance was covering. The frame selection was great, even my teenager found something he loves. On top of this, the staff were extremely patient in looking over how I could get the most out of my insurance. Sat in the store for 1.5 hours with a sales person who had no idea what she was doing. Good God. She was completely clueless and the baby voice put it all over the top. While trying to get the computer to work, she got fed up and left me to help someone else for a HALF HOUR. This place was fantastic. It was my first time visiting and I needed an eye exam, contacts, and new glasses. I called and they were able to get me an appointment the same day. The doctor and her receptionist were very friendly and worked very quickly. It was a no-nonsense exam with the typical "which is better, one or two" test. The best part was when receptionist double checked my insurance when I said I didn't have any. She saved me $100 (for the exam, contacts prescription, and glasses prescription). They're right beside the store and I had Rosie helping me. I had found a coupon for 25% off contacts at another store and asked if they would match it, she said she would try to beat it, and depending on how many contacts I bought from them, I'd get a discount on my glasses. I'm terrible at choosing new frames and Rosie was completely honest about what did and did not work on my face. She could tell I liked a pair that were a little on the crazy side but encouraged me to get them and I'm so happy I did. She did manage to beat my coupon for contacts and gave me 40% off of my new glasses. In selling me lenses, she told me I only needed to pick from the two cheaper options. She didn't even want me to consider the expensive ones because she said for my fairly weak prescription they were totally unnecessary. I loved my experience here and would recommend it to everyone. read more

I've been going here for years. Never had a prob with Dr. Haskins or Patricia, yay!, you guys rock. But the other opts seem to be rushed and the 2 I've seen when I'm unable to see Dr. Haskins get really frustrated with me during the exam-- Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between those lenses they flip in front of your eyes!! I also have sensitive eyes and prefer an older model of contacts to deal with my astigmatism, and all the new opts always try to tell me I'm crazy for not liking the new kinds (it's my eyeballs guys, chill out.) The staff that works the frame sales floor are generally great and have repaired several of my frames because I'm a klutz, though there's a guy that is really annoying working there now. He hounds you about having HIM help you, and about trying on the most expensive frames. I don't go in if I see him there because I know he'll follow me around and insist I need his help. No dude, I don't want that pair of Tom Fords you try to have everyone try on. read more

And in the past few years, one of the clinicians saved me big bucks by asking if I was with AARP. I would never have thought to ask for any discount, but she was really looking out for me. I came here for my first eye exam (hate eye exams!) in a few years, in desperate need of contacts and glasses. I called on a Monday and had an appointment for Tuesday. I was seen immediately, did the dreaded "puff of air test" - the assistant was really patient about it - and Dr. Haskins was great as well, really friendly, and addressed all my concerns.The entire exam process was quick and easy, and about five feet away is the place to order, where Mary Anne helped me figure out how best to use my insurance to lessen my upfront cost AND helped me select two cute pairs of glasses. Following our eye appointments yesterday with Dr. Asim, who was wonderful and very thorough, the manager, Jessica, and Aida both helped us pick out glasses and sunglasses that were right for us, making sure to find options within our insurance plan. They took an interest in what was important to us and were patient with our indecision, helping us rule out glasses that weren't necessarily good for the shape of our faces. They educated us on the choices that were optional and were efficient in writing up the orders. They both had a great attitude. The others who worked in the store, including Kelly, were very nice and helpful too. We've been going to For Eyes for decades, but we hadn't spent time in this location before until recently. Echo what a previous poster said about a complete lack of product knowledge - more specifically, of insurance coverage of the various products (hard vs soft lenses, sunglasses frames vs lenses). No problems whatsoever with Dr Haskins but she really needs to cull her staff and start over, every single person I've spoken to here has been borderline incompetent in terms of (a) being able to understand my specific question [you know those people who *think* they're smarter than you and *think* they understand your question but aren't really listening, and when you point out that they're answering a different question they still don't listen and make out like you're the problem? Yeah, they work here] and (b) communicating ALL relevant information so that you can make a financially savvy choice about where to allocate your insurance dollars (e.g. is it cheaper to buy contacts with allowance and take a store-based discount on sunglasses or vice-versa). Felt like I got the information in slow drips over about 4 visits. Also, Person A asks me to make a 'contact lens education' appointment. Tried to do so. Person A says, "No you can't do it in person, I don't make those appointments, call Patricia during the week." Call Patricia during the week. Schedule an appointment for Saturday morning. Turn up on Saturday. Person A is there again: "Oh she's not meant to schedule those for Saturdays. Let me see if I can schedule you for another time." [Um why didn't you just schedule for me the first time?] In short, they need to train their staff and figure their appointment systems out. They're letting Dr Haskins down. read more

I used to shop at for eyes but stopped years ago for no particular reason. I walked in this morning with broken frames but intact lenses for my elderly father. Madeline was extremely kind and compassionate and quickly found a pair of frames that would match the lenses and in a matter of minutes I walked out with a new pair of glasses for my dad that were very reasonably priced. I'm writing this to rave about For Eyes associate Ada. Without her my son would have had two useless pairs of glasses. I made the mistake of bringing in a eye prescription from my son's school which was free of charge. My whole family gets their eyes checked and frames at For Eyes, my husband for over 40 years. She helped pick out 2 frames both look fantastic on him and reasonable priced. When we picked them up my son had trouble seeing out of the left lens. Ada checked the prescription on both pairs of new glasses to the old pair, she adjusted the new ones by curving them she was determine to find out the reason this was happening.At no time did she make my son feel badly but kept reassuring him she would find the reason for this. Ada came up with the idea to check with the eye doctor the eye prescription came from. Mystery solved the prescription we had was written wrong and did not match what they had on file! The lens axis on file was 160 while on the paper copy we had stated it was 100. What a huge mistake on the part of our so called free eye exam. I'm so grateful to Ada for uncovering this major problem and having the patience and wisdom to solve it for us. As a mother I'm grateful to have this issue solved for my son. I cannot recommend this optical shop. ForEyes was slow and disorganized. One technician advised me to look for frames as I waited and then the second technician let two people cut in line in front of me. After waiting an hour, they stated they couldn't do an eye exam and offered to make an appointment the following day. I took my business elsewhere. I was a first morning appointment, and the medical side's receptionist confusion and early morning disorganization was a little annoying, because it wasn't like it was 7am, and I did get a little frustrated when she didn't remember speaking to me on the Thursday before, and seemed to all of a sudden have issues with my insurance. After she got her stuff together (it really was annoying) everything else was great! I like the doctor I saw, and plan to keep her. The ladies at the glasses/ contacts purchase side are sooooo nice, and always give me samples when I mess up and wati too long to order contacts. They almost always seem to be having sales for glasses, and I will be purchasing some on their next special. I would give the receptionist another chance, too, because everyone has off moments, but I would suggest that she get there on time and be prepped for morning appointments, as often these are situations were people are missing work to make the apt. read more

I received the best pair of glasses I've had in years (Jan 2016)! A very thorough exam from the optometrist, followed by a discussion with the technician about which frame styles suited the lenses I need. A problem with my old glasses was the transition point of the progressive lenses. I didn't have enough "near" vision correction to easily read and do computer work without angling my head uncomfortably. My new glasses are comfortable, the progressive lenses have an almost unnoticeable transition point, and my eyes feel relaxed and unstrained all day long. My near and far correction are in the perfect areas for the work I do. I opted for antiglare coating, which is an excellent choice for computer work and night driving. Glasses are not covered by my insurance plan, so the technician reviewed all the organizations I belong to, to find which had discount offers to give me the best savings. Very pleased!
