Went in for a routine eye exam and left in complete disbelief, a terrifying misdiagnosis, and an elevated level of frustration. First i'd like to start off by complimenting the front office staff. Amber and another man, whose name I cannot remember, were absolutely wonderful and kind. They were attentive, warm, and consoling when needed. However, the actual care from optometry is absolutely awful. I had the displeasure of being seen by Dr. Kaylee Ho and all I can say is that she is terrible at patient-centered care. Not only did she completely terrify me into an awful misdiagnosis (based solely off a photo of my eye), but she completely handled the entire visit inappropriately and with severe lack of sincerity. I strongly encourage this company to speak with or retrain Dr. Ho in adequate care practices. Due to her lack of sincerity, knowledge, and professionalism, I will not be returning. read more

Too corporate. I went in for an eye exam. First interaction with front desk (Sales rep) and the doctor was asking me if I was looking for glasses or contacts. I haven't been prescribed lenses (yet) so I responded with I was just there for an eye exam. They seemed surprised. Sales rep did the first couple tests before I saw the Dr. The Doctor was thorough but not very personable and a little hard to understand. Also had me wait outside her office while the dilation eyedrops kicked in. That was weird sitting in a chair in the hallway for 20 mins my vision slowly getting blurry and being asked again by the sales rep if I was gonna look at frames for purchase. I was the one trying to build rapport. Everyone looked sad to be there. Made me bummed to be there too. I wouldn't go back again. Not sure why all the great reviews. Maybe I just didn't bring enough business not needing a prescription ? read more

I started coming to this location a little more than a year ago. Though the staff members have changed since then, every visit I have had has been extremely pleasant. My last visit, a few days ago, Dr. Patel has been so helpful with not just my vision exams but also my eye allergies. After viewing the health of my eye during my eye exam, I mentioned my concerns with my allergies and my medications. He then recommended me other alternatives which have then improved my symptoms. The staff at this location goes above and beyond trying to help you find the best fit for your eyes, whether it's contacts, lenses, or a new frame. They have stylish choices at decent prices too. Came in to ask if they could replace the nose guards on my sunnies that the company BLENDERS would not do for me, without hesitation they took them in and replaced them and cleaned up the shades too. For Eyes is an all-in-one-stop with great customer service! I picked my blinged out glasses (the top was bordered with black rhinestones lol) and was helped by an adorable young man to make sure I got the best price for what I was looking for. I was then able to do a walk-in appointment to see the eye doctor as I needed a new prescription anyway. The doctor was quick, efficient, and nice as well, since those things don't always come hand in hand. When paying with the young man who helped me find the glasses, he offered the current deals and helped me find the best price for what I wanted my lenses to have and was very amicable all the while. After calling multiple places to schedule my daughters eye exam and no one had any appointments until a week later, I called For Eyes and spoke to Jenna. We got lucky here and was able to schedule in two days. Day of appointment, Jenna was very helpful. Excellent customer service from the beginning to the end. Went in for an eye exam today and Dr. Patel was apparently looking at another patient's chart because he called me by someone else's name when I sat down for the exam. He says "Janay?" as he was looking at the chart ... My name is isn't even close to "Janay" so it was not a misspelling or mis-pronunciation ... Lol ... I looked at him like "Wow ... if you got my name/chart mixed up will you mix-up my prescription?!? " ‍ From that moment on, I felt like I had walked into an establishment where the doctor was obviously very inexperienced from not being able to distinguish between patient charts and also the eye exam room set up appeared pretty compact sized with limited exam equipment ... thus pretty uncomfortable. I'd been going to the For eyes on Beverly Boulevard open in los Angeles) for several years, so I figured it would be an easy transfer since my optical and I exam information over was supposedly in their internal records. However the receptionist misinformed me that my records were already in their system because the doctor didn't have them when I was there for the exam. Needless to say ...I ended up just asking the receptionist to cancel my appointment. I figured I should've just stuck with the Beverly Boulevard location since they have my original records. The only reason I even considered the Long Beach location is because it's closer to where I live and the Beverly Boulevard location is still processing new doctors optometrists. Got an eye exam and glasses but they never told me my VSP was out of network until after the exam. Therefore, it cost me more money for the glasses. I wish they could have told me upfront. Also, my frames broke when trying to adjust and had to pay for new frames. Wish they would have told me not to try to self adjust due to the frame material. Well let me just tell you that we have found our new Optometrist! I called about 7 other places before I called For Eyes, and due to Covid, they were all appointment only EXCEPT For Eyes! I was able to walk-in the same day. I took my mom for her eye exam because she needed glasses urgently (hers are a bit broken and pretty scratched). When we walked in we were immediately greeted with a smile. They helped us out right away. I ended up doing my eye exam as well since they weren't super busy. Everything was explained to us in detail and they were soooo patient.. (thank you!). My moms exam was exceptional! The optometrist was so thorough and always made sure we understood everything that was being explained to us. They had a pretty good selection of glasses to pick from. Every pair we tried on we had to set aside because they are sanitizing everything after every touch (great thing to do right now especially with this Covid thing). We both ended up ordering our glasses and I even ordered some sun glasses because they had a great deal going on! Make sure you go here for your next eye exam! You won't regret it! :) read more

So I need to know why this business doesn't come up first in the search for an Optometrist??Met Dr. Patel back in February after having severe eye infection. Met with Dr. Patel and he immediately noticed that I had an ulcer growing on my eye. He prescribed me antibiotics but still out of caution referred me to an opthamologist. Turns out that I had to go every 3 days to as this infection was pretty severe. It went on for almost four weeks but I survived. Well now we were in Covid era and was unable to follow up with Dr. Patel until now. Let me tell you this, it really matter who is your Optometrist. I was prescribed contact lenses which caused me to need to wear readers when working on my computer and/or phone. Dr. Patel wanted to try something different. He changed my prescription and sent me home to try another type to see if I can wear these contacts without readers; reducing the prescription on one contact and adjusting my stronger eye to take the lead. It worked!!!!! I can't believe no one thought of trying this sooner. No need for readers. He was well though and through his investigational work has helped me eliminate having to use readers which really really wasn't pleasant. He reminded me to continue to change my lenses daily and prescribed me two new eyeglasss to give my eyes a break. He's really awesome. Quality!!!!! read more

The customer service here is first rate. I had some problems with my prescription (which I did not get at For Eyes). It could have been a major headache. Instead, Dalenna and Jenna worked with me to make sure my glasses were just right. They were knowledgable, professional, helpful and friendly throughout. I came across Dr. Yang through Groupon. At the time, I wasn't aware that she was working at For Eyes. I looked for reviews online for Dr. Yang and I didn't find any. I usually like to do my research before going anywhere new especially when it comes to health/vision related issues. Regardless, I called the office to see when they would have available appointments; Brianna stated I could come in right away! I decided to take a chance and off I went. I am so happy that I went to Dr. Yang and didn't let my biases stand in the way! Dr. Yang was very friendly and knowledgeable. She listened to my concerns and didn't stop until she found a solution for them. Since I was a young child, I have had some double vision on and off. Every single ("five-star") optometrists I have gone to insisted that I needed new glasses or that I had the wrong prescription. Dr. Yang was thorough, took her time, and she did additional testing to examine what is really the root of my double vision. I am so happy to say that after many years of dealing with double vision, I can finally see properly. I have been wearing my glasses for weeks and the double vision is completely gone!
