Ribeye 14 ounces and Filet Mignon 6 ounces with Creamed Spinach and Mashed Potatoes

Ambiance The mood was elevated and dark as we entered the steakhouse. It really felt like we were entering a place you should be dressed up for. Service We had Tony, and he did great. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and did very well with checking in on us. Food This place is a special place to my husband, and with good reason! They season their steaks well and cook them with desirable texture, our cream of spinach and mashed potatoes weren't overly rich, the crab cakes had a delicate crust on them and the actual crab meat was flavorful. My favorite though was the Kona coffee crème brûlée- yuuuuuum. So creamy and not too sweet. If you're a coffee ice cream lover, I highly recommend it My husband got the blackberry cabernet sorbet - a fun flavor - tart and sweet. We'll definitely be returning!

One of my new favorite restaurants! Made a reservation on a Thursday so we didn't have to worry about a wait. We were seated right away, and immediately served water and provided a cocktail list. My partner and I were in no hurry and Tony, our amazing server, understood the assignment. Ben also frequently came by to check in and the way they collaborated was so smooth. On to the food: -manresa bread, delicious but be prepared to chew. The lavender salted butter was a great pairing. -pear Gorgonzola salad, sooooo good. Perfectly seasoned and nice punch from the cheese -mushroom ravioli, these were little flavor pockets and the Marsala sauce was amazing -split sides of fried green beans and elote creamed corn, everything we ate was so good but these were next level -my partner loved his French onion soup! It came out nice and hot too! He also ordered the prime rib plate and really enjoyed it -banana fosters cheesecake, not overly sweet or rich. A great choice! Chefs really know what they are doing here! I love that they let you split sides here, such a unique option if you want to try multiple things. VERY REASONABLE PRICING HERE. Drinks are strong and good! We had such an awesome experience. We also got to meet the owner Darin and it's no wonder this place is functioning the way it does. Lots of positive energy. Thank you, Tony, Ben, Ryan, and Darin for making our 1st time memorable. Plenty of vegetarian options! They do have a patio, but I'm not sure if it's pet-friendly.

Having lived in the area now for a few years, I've been meaning to try out Forbes Mill Steakhouse. Unfortunately, Black Friday presented itself with that opportunity when we had reservations at Mastro's. That was the same day as the incident at Valley Fair which required us to change our dining plans in very short order. We were all pleased that I was able to make a reservation for that same evening, while we were in the car driving away from the mall. The interior of Forbes Mill is nice enough -- white table cloths, light walls, dark wood rafters, dark booth seating. There isn't anything wrong with the decor, but nothing really stood out as special either. And this is just kind of how the whole dining experience at a Forbes Mill was for us. Our server was perfectly fine - the only minor hiccup was when I ordered a Kit Royale, brought me a cocktail from the menu that had a similar sounding name. To his credit, it was corrected quickly without issue. For our meals, we all had steak, naturally. I went with the 6 oz filet, along with a chimichurri sauce and baked potato. I had hoped they had fries because all the other sides were made with dairy, except for the brussel sprouts, which I didn't really want. But alas, I had to opt for the baked potato, which actually worked out just fine with the chimichurri sauce. Everything was good, solid. But I wasn't wowed. My husband and the kiddo went with the ribeye and the New York strip with peppercorn sauce and mashed potatoes. And they felt similarly- everything was perfectly good. Overall, we had a nice time at Forbes Mill. But nothing really felt elevated or particularly special about the experience, which is why I'd give it 3.5 stars. We may be back, but it's wouldn't expect to seek it out.

Warm fruit crisp with vanilla gelato

My husband and I went here for a date night and it did not disappoint. Lighting was bright enough that you can still see your food and read the menu. Dim enough that it's intimate. It's not a huge place, tables are fairly close to each other, but still private enough for your convo to be kept private (unless you're a loud talker). We made reservations beforehand, definitely recommend that. Service was great, our server was on top of things. He timed everything nicely and didn't come in during awkward mid bite moments to check in on us. We both ordered drinks, my husband ordered a Japanese high ball(?), I had the Mai Tai -- drinks are very strong (lol). We had crab cakes for the appetizer, mashed potatoes & brussel sprouts for sides, and warm fruit crisp with vanilla gelato for dessert. My husband had the 16oz ribeye and I had 6oz filet mignon & shrimp scampi, both in medium rare. Steaks were cooked nicely, a bit under seasoned but they have salt and pepper at the table so that worked out. There were some parts of the filet mignon that were a bit on the well side, but still soft because of the cut of meat. Crab cakes were very good! We wished there was more! It came in 2 patties with sauce and pineapple bits. Mashed potatoes were creamy. Brussel sprouts were a bit under seasoned as well, thr bacon bits helped. The warm fruit crisp with vanilla gelato was SUPERB! The gelato is from a local shop down the street, Dolce Spazio Gelato (one of our fav places). Perfect combo, we ordered an extra scoop of vanilla gelato. Bottom line: Great spot for date night. Will def be back!

Exceptional fine dining spot perfect for special occasions. Flawless execution across the board from food to service. FOOD - 24 oz Bone-In Rib Eye (medium rare): Perfectly aged, seasoned just right, and not overly fatty like some steakhouses tend to do. Paired with the Cognac Peppercorn sauce and Sautéed Spinach - Oysters on the Half Shell: fresh Washington oysters, clean-tasting with zero fishiness - Persimmon Salad: seasonal autumn vibes with pine nuts and goat cheese. Delicious and well-balanced - Pumpkin Cheesecake: Not heavy-handed on the nutmeg like some others. This is how pumpkin cheesecake should be done - Kids Filet Bites (off-menu): Our picky eater approved, which says everything :) - Coco Crusted Scallops: Beautifully seared, but the sauce got a bit heavy midway through the plate. Could use more acidity/brightness to cut through the richness SERVICE - Hostess was accommodating with our seating request for kids - Server was genuine, down-to-earth, and attentive without hovering - Manager stopped by to greet us, nice personal touch CLEANLINESS & DETAILS - Spotless dining area with smudge-free glassware and utensils - Restrooms: clean with thoughtful touches (hair ties, full-length mirror at exit, etc.) VALUE Solid fine dining experience that delivers on quality. The execution and attention to detail justify the price.

Epitome of a steakhouse from the interior, environment, the service and the food. Even though it's a formal location, it was pretty kid friendly with coloring paper (go K-pop demon hunters theme) and crayons. We ordered the french onion soup (good quality with enough ingredients), braised short ribs (really good with soft meat, within a pool of mashed potatoes and a side of broccolini that all tasted good, maybe less sauce would have been nice however), blackened ribeye, and sides of bread with yummy butter, au gratin potatoes that were prob my favorite dish apart from the meat, and brussels sprouts with bacon. Also got the mai tai cocktail that tasted good but did get dilute halfway through unfortunately. Despite the chaos of having two children with us, we were able to enjoy the quality of the food and everyone was friendly. Would recommend.

Kona Coffee Creme Brulee 10/10 Red velvet celebratory complimentary dessert

Each time we have gone, we walk away saying how amazing everything was. The taste, the cook to perfection, the service. It's hard trying nice restaurants not knowing how the service will be, the food, etc. But this place is worth the money every time. Love Creme brûlée? Gotta try the Kona Coffee one! Best calamari, best cowboy cut.

Prix fixe menu with filet mignon and fresh fish for the day!

I went to celebrate my fiancé's birthday. We had special seating and great service. Parking was easy to find behind the restaurant, the choices of prix fixe menu was superb, and our waiter was very attentive. My only negative comment would be- they charged us for bread. I feel like when you're paying $86 for dinner, maybe bread should be included....?

I walked in on a Tuesday night and sat at the bar. Staff was very friendmy. I just ordered a medium rare ribeye. It was nicely cooked and came with some greens.

My friend met one of the owners, Darren, at our gym, who told her they started doing jazz musicians on Thursday nights@6:30 pm in the bar. I met up with her, and she introduced me to the brothers that own Forbes and Double D's, Darren & Dean. They were very friendly and fun to talk to, while we tried some drinks. My friend was doing tequila shots and I tried the Mai Tai, which I loved. I'm a rum lover, but Dean had me try a sip of his Paloma. He said it's usually with tequila, but their bartender makes it with vodka. It was okay, but although I enjoy vodka, I was glad I got the Mai Tai. My friend got us a table near the jazz musician, but thankfully, it wasn't too loud. Everyone near us was super kind, fun, and easy to talk to. My friend and I shared several appetizers as our meal. We enjoyed the service. Our server, Savanna, was attentive m, helpful, and genuinely kind. We thoroughly enjoyed the warm rolls, Sesame ahi tuna, & blackened scampi with mashed potatoes. I was so hungry that I forgot to take pics of the food. The jazz was delightful, the owners hung out with us, and all in all, I'm glad I went there! They did a remodel and it really turned out nice. Their parking lot is small so I parked behind, where it said employee parking, but after 6 PM anybody can park. I liked the vibe.

Food is ok. It's not bad, but it's not amazing. Additionally, the service was bad. Not sure if we even had a designated server, but it took 15 minutes to get our order taken. Then at one point we were without water for 15-20 minutes, and then eventually dirty dishes for another 15-20 minutes. We asked two people for our receipt, and they just kept disappearing. I would not be down to spend as much as we did again.

Made prior reservations on a Friday afternoon around 6PM (Requested for Credit Card in order to book reservation); The ambience combined with warmth, elegance, and a touch of rustic charm. Crowd was a moderate amount at the time and the host/waiters were attentive and friendly. We made the reservation for a special event for me and my family; And to my surprise one of the menu was printed with my name nonetheless the steak was amazing, which I ordered the Filet Mignon 8oz (perfectly cooked), their French Onion Soup/Calamari for appetizers were delicious as well! However I do recommend to make sure to go over your order with the waiter if there are large groups/parties as they mistaken the order for one of my family members but other than that will definitely be back if I'm craving for more Steaks or their appetizers!

Pros: My food was delicious. Filet cooked perfectly. Au Gratin potatoes were creamy and decadent. Cons: Unfriendly server. My boyfriend's ribeye was overcooked. It was also his birthday and despite acknowledging it upon checking in, they did nothing special for us. Also they charge $4 for bread and butter??? Lastly, they sat the table next to us way too close. Could hear their entire conversation and could barely fit when backing out of my chair. Too expensive for these all these shortcomings.

What is the current corkage fee?

    $50

    Can you bring toddlers here?

    Yes, you can.

Do you have outdoor sitting with view?

They have outdoor seating in front along the sidewalk. It's very comfortable and warm.

    Does an eGift Card expire?

Hi Cindy, No, it does not expire. Thanks for checking with us!

The steaks look pretty huge. Is it acceptable to split steak with another person?

    Yes, of course!

How do I request a custom menu for a special day (birthday, anniversary, etc.)?

Just add the event detail to your reservation and they will automatically put a special note on their prix fixe menu. Note: they don't actually customize the food listed on the menu for you, but rather add a special note to their standard menu card.… Read more

What is the dress code like? We are considering reserving for a celebratory dinner and like to dress up in business casual or semi-formal.

Business casual! Although people dress nicer on the weekend!

    What is the corkage fee?

    $25.00 per 750 ml

    When is happy hour?

No happy hour on Fridays and Saturdays. Took an embarrassing visit to find that out.

Good for family dining with young kids (4 & 8)?

Probably not. Maybe the 8 yr old but not the 4 yr old. Upscale restaurants tend not to be a good place for young children.

I know it's a steakhouse but any vegan options? Dairy, eggs and honey aren't vegan ?

No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.

Two of us ordered a variety of apps and one main to share. We started with the beef tartare, cabbage, oysters, and beet crostini, then got the duck pappardelle ragu. To drink we each ordered two different cocktails. I loved the pasta, both of my martinis, and the cabbage. My boyfriend pointed out that the cabbage didn't taste a lot like miso or chili oil, which is what he was excited for, but this was still one of my favorite dishes. The ragu didn't have a ton of meat, but it was still so good, I would without a doubt order it again. The oysters were also good, but at $4 a pop, I'll enjoy those on a Wednesday when they have them on special for half the price. The beef tartare wasn't super oniony, which I did like, but the meat pieces were a little bigger than I'd expect and it just felt like it was missing something. The beet crostini was good, but it felt a little pricey for what it was and I would skip it next time. Service was fine, it felt like they were understaffed and could have definitely benefited from having another person or two on the floor.

After the change in ownership, the restaurant unfortunately feels like it has lost some of what…read moreonce made it special. To be fair, we visited for Mother's Day lunch, so the menu was understandably more limited than usual. Still, the overall experience felt much more casual compared to when I used to come here 12 or so years ago, when it had a more elevated and refined atmosphere. The service staff seemed fairly inexperienced, the interior decor now feels a bit dark and dated, and the food portions were surprisingly small. The food itself was good overall, but the limited selection was disappointing and left us wanting more variety. I may give their dinner service another try sometime down the road, but for now, I probably won't be returning anytime soon.

Great place to stop whether you're walking through the area or stuck in traffic. They offer beers,…read morewine, and a refreshing Frosé (frozen rosé slushy). All the drinks pair well with the wide range of food options on their extensive menu. There's plenty of seating both indoors and outside, plus several TVs throughout for watching sports. I ordered the Hop Holistics, a fresh, fruity Hazy IPA with a low 5.6% ABV, making it easy to enjoy more than one. I also tried the Alpha Dog West Coast IPA, which has a higher ABV and was another tasty choice, especially with my burger. I went with the smashburger and fries, and it was fantastic. Packed with flavor from the Memphis‑style BBQ sauce, avocado, and pickled red onions on a brioche bun. We were sharing it, and they even split it onto two plates for us -- a small touch we really appreciated. Only complaint was the bartender was NOT friendly at all. We felt like we were making him work. Definitely need to get someone that wants to work and not that guy! Despite this, we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu and enjoy another brew.

We were driving to Santa Cruz on Memorial Day and it was such jam packed crazy peak traffic taking hours to move a mile, we decided to detour and take exit to Los Gatos. Now I've been to this cute rich neighbourhood city couple of times and enjoyed a lot. We parked at nearby garage. It was so damn now so loved the outdoor seating concept with play area for kids. My son loved running around here! Beer flight was decent, I didn't like any of the 4 beers given. We had pesto chicken sandwiche. It was not warm and tasted very normal Fried were cold and not seasoned well too. But it's great for outdoor seating and chilling with friends and family Self service , but good and drinks were super quick to arrive.
