Been to the Walnut Creek location before and honestly was hesitant to try this one, but decided to give it a shot anyway. So glad we did. We made reservations the same day, got a great time slot, and were seated fairly quickly once our table opened up. Our waiter was very helpful throughout the meal and gave great recommendations. We ordered: Sangria Flight -- comes with 3 different drinks and they were all pretty good. Crab Croquetas -- comes with 2, but since there were 3 of us, we ordered an extra one. Glad we did because we all loved them. Might actually be one of the hubby's favorite dishes of the night. Wagyu Empanadas -- good, but the crab croquetas definitely stole the show for us. Tuna Tacos -- had a lot of avocado, which our daughter usually doesn't like in most dishes, but she surprisingly really enjoyed these. We shared the crab croquetas, patatas bravas, pollo empanadas, tuna tacos, pulpo (octopus), prime wellington, kale salad (March special), and the secret paella (March special). My favorites were the crab croquetas, tuna tacos, and pulpo. For dessert, we shared the churros which were pretty good. Food came quickly, service was friendly. The ahi tuna tacos were excellent (10/10), while the paellas were more of a (6/10) for us. Service can be a bit hit or miss. Everyone is generally friendly, but it tends to slow down quite a bit during peak hours. We came in for a late lunch, but the pacing stretched the meal to nearly three hours. Lobster was well cooked and there wasn't that much octopus in the paella for us to enjoy. Drinks wise. I got the prickly pear sangria and it was in the diluted side and couldn't enjoy the taste of the alcohol but on a nice sunny day it was refreshing. Service wise - our waitress was a bit non existent. She just came to take our orders and pretty much came back when we flagged her down for the check. We didn't get much follow up how our food was, replenish of our water or anything but yet we were asked to pay a 20% gratuity service. My only gripe was the rice did not come out crispy as requested, and the squid ink does get a bit messy while eating. However, the seafood wasn't overcooked at all and the presentation was well done. Since this doesn't have any veggies, I'd recommend ordering a side of their broccolini! Surprising cooked PEREFECTLY. For appetizers, we got the Pan Con Tomate & Jamon Iberico De Bellota to start. The waiter offered the bread as a "Spanish style" pairing. I definitely recommend doing so as the cured ham grows salty by itself. The tomate on the bread was sweet and pureed. Very delicious! Iberico Paella (pork and chicken): 4.5/5 the main really is the star of the dinner packed with flavor chicken and pork were roasted and grilled to perfection texture was great. Fortunately, four of us girls thought this portion was just fine. Wagyu empanadas: 3/5 oxtail was very tender. Presentation was beautiful, but flavor was lacking in the filling. Pollo empanadas: 3/5 chicken was a little dry also a little bland Cauliflower side: 2/5 bland least favorite Patatas bravas: 3/5 the sauce was a little too sweet for my taste. Holy cow, is this place awesome! We visited yesterday for lunch and were completely blown away by the food and service. Presentation, flavor, and attentiveness of staff made the experience fantastic. We nibbled our way through a lunch of Salmon, Tuna tacos, Burrata bowl (with avocado!), Beef Wellington, all with a lovely sparkling wine. It pains me to write this review. This place has been one of those great celebration spots for my family: till now. Our daughter wanted to celebrate her bday here. Spain is our favorite and usual holiday destination. We had a rez. Seated promptly. The atmosphere is superbly busy and loud. Our server was helpful with the menu. We noticed they changed it. She was honest about what was a hit or miss. We truly appreciate that. She was very meticulous about dietary restrictions for our daughters when taking our order. We ordered our usual dishes. Here is where our visit took a turn. She took our order, food arrived in a timely fashion, but we never saw her again. We were NEVER checked on. I kept looking around the restaurant for her. If a new server was tagged in, we were not aware. We only had a few empty plates taken away from our table at first. The water was replenished well. No one asked if we wanted another cocktail, other dishes, nor a simple "how are we doing?" Check-in. I will be honest, I was looking for a server to order more croquettes and another beverage. I looked at my watch and we went at least 40-50 mins w/o a single soul checking on us. My husband had to ask for boxes and the check. I knew a bad review was in the works tonight. I took a pic of ALL of the empty dishes that were not picked up. Yes, dessert was offered but we were not vibing. The thrill was over. We just wanted to leave. My husband did say to our new server ( who we didn't know was tagged in) that we were not happy with the service. In my opinion, new server should still have checked in on us. Even though our server was aware of our dislike of our service, the reaction was surprisingly lacking. No ONE CARED. If a manager was notified......no response or acknowledgment. We dined here awhile back and had similar service. I'm afraid the food had to follow suit of the service. Not because the food was terrible. It was just that the service is the foundation of the meal. In closing, the service brought the food down. We have no plans on returning anymore. We ordered paella and what I would suggest when you bring seafood paella is to bring wet wipes and a plate where we can put seafood scraps. You cannot eat gulf shrimp with a fork and a knife, you must do it with hands, so not having wet wipes is unreasonable. Even airlines, like Turkish, provide wet wipes with your food. I was recommended to come here by a friend when I expressed interest in trying more paellas! I had my first one a year ago, and I've been thinking of them since. The Paella Negra was raved about! So here I came. The ambiance of the restaurant is gorgeous. It felt very open, with an open bar section in the middle of the restaurant. The dim romantic lights, accompanied by candles on each table, were complemented by the warm wood and greenery decorating the place. We had the Crab Croquetas and Chicken Kebab for appetizers. The croquetas had an amazing texture, but the flavor of the crab overpowered the slice of tuna on top. The Kebab was alright, and we all loved the hummus that came with it. The Prime Wellington was great! I thought it was a unique touch to inject sauce into the pastry; I had never seen anything like that before. The Spanish potatoes that came with it had amazing flavor as well. Our table's favorites, though: the Paella Negra and Iberico Paella. We got both and asked for Socarrat, which was recommended to us to enjoy the flavors more deeply. It made the rice crunchy at the bottom and allowed a depth to the texture and aroma. I personally liked the Paella Negra more, because the Iberico was a bit heavy for me. At the end of our dinner, our server brought over ice cream and a small slice of cake with a lit candle on it for the birthday guest. It was really sweet.
