Ive been waiting to visit forbidden pizza ever since they went viral a while ago - happy to say I got the chance to do so and enjoyed my time there! I ordered the forbidden fruit, which has fig jam bacon, mozzerlla, and riccotta cheese. Absolutely DELICIOUS!!! If you like a sweet and savory slice, i would 100000% recommend. Its comparable to new york slice pizza since its thin, sold by the slice, and quick to grab and go. My friend and I also bought the dough bites to try (not pictured) and i didnt necessarrily love them. There is an outer shell from the dough that makes it tough to bite and the marinaria sauce that came with it is a little too sweet for my liking, but my friend loved it. There is outdoor and indoor seating so choose whatever you prefer! We opted to sit outside at the provided tables because there was nice weather outside. There is also a speaker outside that plays music so it creates a lively atmosphere. I would definitely recommend and would go back again! read more

The taste wasn't bad. I can tell they use good/high quality ingredients and toppings (kudos for having burrata as a topping), however the taste and ingredient quality is overshadowed by the sogginess of the pizza and the astronomical pricing. I love that the pizzas are huge, and I love that they're loaded with toppings, but the fact that I couldn't pick up a single piece without all the cheese and toppings sliding off AND pieces ripping apart from the middle, didn't leave a good impression. The bottom crust had no structural integrity and just felt like wet cardboard in the mouth. I even reheated some slices the next day in the oven at 500 degrees and put the slices on the bottom rack to try and crisp up the bottom, but nothing could save it, it still came out soggy. So overall, I did not enjoy the pizza because I don't want to be forced to eat with a fork and knife, I want to be able to hold a piece in my hand and enjoy it with a nice crunch to topping ratio. Also, not sure if they're was no delivery at the time or if it's always pick up only, but either way that sucks lol. All in all, the taste was there, but everything else was missing. We ordered for pick up and they were super busy so we came to pick up and there was a line of 5 people waiting, then a few came to pick up their orders on the side without the register (I assumed they ordered takeout while they were there so I didn't go to that side, just continued waiting at the register). The service seemed really nice. I think a guy dropped his pizza slice and came back and the staff seemingly said they would make him another? Super packed and connected to a bar so not a place I would go to sit and eat at all. At $35 a pizza, yes they're huge, but they're not worth that price. The upper half of the pizza was still crispy and held form but the bottom half was sloppy and droopy (we only live 10 min away so it didn't sit long). We got the Italian stallion which says it has basil, but it did not have the leaves...not sure what it meant. It was super salty as well. We were looking for a place to have a quick dinner before the Banana Ball game and found Forbidden Pizza was a few blocks away. They've been popping up on my social media for a while so we decided to give it a try. Word of advice: know what you want in advance and have a back up choice. We walked up and it was the most rushed and strange interaction ever. They didn't have the she's thicc so I pick up a menu to try to decide on another slice and the guy kept saying "you want the pepperoni" so I gave in and got that even though I would have liked something else if he gave me 30 seconds to look at the menu. There's hardly any seating so we were wedged into some seats along the window and waited a while. It's definitely over hyped. The pizza was burned on the bottom and it just wasn't good. Needed someplace close to the dome to grab dinner before the Savannah Bananas. Had seen a lot of post recently and some good reviews so gave it a try. It's a small place with limited seating. They do have a full bar and some inside tables on the side. But it seemed for the most part this place is a grab and go or grab and eat quick there. They have some very interesting flavor combos for their pizzas. For my first time I went with the Italian stallion and forbidden fruit. The Italian stallion is more traditional nothing too crazy going on there, but very good. The forbidden fruit sounded interesting less common flavor profile, but had potential. It ended up being as good as I thought those flavors coming together might. The sweet and savory with the fig jam and bacon amazing. Nice little place of the beaten path. I was looking for something quick and good. I had eaten my through New Orleans and couldn't eat one more big meal. I found this place, not too far from my hotel. I walked over and almost missed it because it was unassuming. I walked in and sat at the bar. The bartender was awesome. She helped me pick a great pizza. There were many to choose from. I selected the Sicilian (square) pizza. I can't turn down a square. As a pizza snob from NY, I think I know good pizza. I took my first bite and I must say, it was pretty good. The sauce was tasty. I absolutely love this pizza place! I've been here twice and both times I have been I have left happy. The last time I was there I had pesto pizza with sausage! It was sooo good. Also the cookie was delicious as well. Not too soft, not too crunchy. Customer service was great! I ordered a Pepperoni Pleaser whole pie ($32) take-out here on Saturday 1/17/26. I waited about 20 minutes for it. Once I got home I dug in & I was in Aww of it..... It is by far the best New York style pizza I've had in NOLA....It was a 20 inch size pie with the right amount of cheese, sauce, & pepperoni. The ingredients were fresh & of quality. My mother hates cheap processed pepperoni but she ate all the meat on her slice. I was satisfied after one slice. The slices are equivalent to two slices from other places. An individual slice of my pie retails for $5.50.... There are other flavors I cannot wait to try. My friends and I came here to get pizza after hearing so much about it. In my opinion it's not the best pizza I've had, and I do think it's overhyped. The area itself and ambience were quite nice and casual. Staff were straightforward and helpful. I think I was just disappointed after hearing so much about their pizza. Stopped by after a conference for lunch. Had the Forbidden Fruit pizza, which was a really interesting take. This is a white sauce pizza, which I love as I'm usually not a fan of tomato sauce. It had dollops of ricotta, fig jam, and bacon. It was a perfect mix of sweet, salty, and creamy. Thin and crispy crust. Also shared a bit of the pepperoni pizza and it was great, nice and spicy with lovely crisp and oil. The restaurant is small, with a small amount of table sitting and bar seats. Overall, awesome! Satisfying pizza, but not amazing. I enjoy the fact that you can get most pizzas by the slice, but unfortunately not the truffle one which I was most excited for! Pretty big slices for a reasonable price. You order at the front and then bus your own table. Everyone is super friendly, but 18% tip being the lowest automatic option for no service? Hmmm. Omg this pizza!!!!! Came to New Orleans definitely for the food but had no idea the pizza would be something that stood out lol! My family got the pepperoni which was yummy and one pie fed my husband, teenage boy, and toddler with some left over! The slices were very big. I had to get a slice of the pizza with fig and bacon and oooooh myyyyy! One of the best pizzas I ever had! The sweet and salty combo was magical. This pizza is an out of body experience. I am a St. Pizza fan. I didn't think I would find anything I love more than St. Pizza. I may have found it....or at least tied for my top spot. Pizza order takers are smiling and friendly. Pizza comes out pretty quick. Slices are huge, really good dough, significant amount of toppings. You can also get a whole pie, or do like we did and order 4 different slices and then order more slices of your favorites because you are hyper fixated on how perfect the truffle pizza is and proceed to be so full that walking home feels impossible but you do it anyway. I thought their cocktail and wine options were good and I liked the feel of their bar area. Very hip but still feels casual. You need to go. Get a margarita at the bar. Get a cookie. Forbidden Pizza is one of the big three in New Orleans and very well could be the best pizza shop in the entire city. The ingredients are fresh, the crust is crispy, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the portions are plenty. I'll admit that I really wanted to try the pizza here because of Dave Portnoy's top rating when he was in New Orleans for the Super Bowl. Before then I hadn't even know about this restaurant. We came on a really busy day, but the service was quick and we had no problem finding a place to sit. They have a full display of all of their pizzas which helps you make a decision with your eyes vs the menu. We tried a couple of pizzas and they were pretty good. I wouldn't say it's my most favorite pizza, but definitely a good place to visit when you're in the area! My friend was back in town, so we decided to stop by Forbidden Pizza. It was my first time visiting this pizza place, but I already did hear a lot of hype about it. Safe to say that the hype was matched! The service was nice and helpful when we had questions about their pizza. The inside was actually pretty spacious and clean in contrast of how it looks outside. We got a whole pizza with two different flavors: The Forbidden Fruit (Shredded Mozzarella,Fresh Mozzarella, Fig Jam, and Bacon) & The Italian Stallion (Tomato Sauce, Shredded Mozzarella, Pepperoni, Sausage, Bacon and Basil). The total was around $36.00. For the pizza, so delicious! The crust was crispy and hot, but my favorite would have to be the forbidden fruit pizza. The mix of fig jam and bacon really did add a unique taste to pizza, but it worked. Even thought it is on the pricier side, I do understand since it's in the Warehouse District and the quality is pretty high. There's only street parking so do be aware of that. My daughter and I stopped here looking for GOOD Pizza. We found it!! This pizza was VERY GOOD New York Style Pizza. We had pepperoni and Hamburger and sat at the bar. They have very limited seating but the bartender was awesome! We Enjoyed it A LOT and will definitely be back next time I'm in New Orleans!! This is an order at the counter restaurant with somewhat limited seating. The person taking orders was nice but not overly enthusiastic. If you want an alcoholic beverage, it's ordered separately at the bar. The bar staff was more friendly and very fast. I really enjoyed both the food and drink at Forbidden Pizza. We ordered several different slices, including Forbidden Fruit, Some Like it Hot (daily special), and cheese. I really liked the crisp thin crust, but my husband felt his was overdone, meaning a little on the burnt side. The flavor combination of hot honey, jalapeños, and pepperoni on the Some Like it Hot was superb. Similarly, the fig and bacon on the Forbidden Fruit was a perfect balance of salty and sweet. The cheese looked fabulous and the kids enjoyed it. I got a chocolate chip cookie for later, and it was one of the best I've had. A sprinkle of sea salt took it over the top.
