Excellent pizza - in a city that has gotten pretty good at NY style pizza, Nighthawk offers a change of pace. Their crust is incredible. My dog is pissed when we get Nighthawk because I don't throw her the crust like I do some other places. I'm sure other reviews have mentioned but if you're looking for a more traditional pizza, everyone will pretty much love the large pepperoni. Most of the other pies will be Neapolitan style which, if you haven't had it before and didn't know it was coming, might throw you off. read more

Stoped into this off the beaten path across the river from the French Quarters. It was a simple quaint little pizzeria and I loved the atmosphere and the simplicity of it. Stopped in after a long day in the studio. Walked in and it was pretty empty, Oh lucky me, I scored! In all honesty, it was also super bowl Sunday. Nighthawk Napoletana is a great pizza place to have so close to me! It's also right next to the ferry so if you're making a trip on the ferry it's easy to get to! My friends and I tried the Fun Gus and the Salsiccia Pizzas both of which had the poblano cream which added some really good flavors. I'm a huge mushroom fan, so the Fun Gus pizza hit all of the right notes for me! The crust was a good balance of thickness and crispiness. Yum! I did try the breadsticks on a later trip and they seemed to have the same flavor as the pizza crust. So if you get the pizza, you probably don't need the breadsticks. The space was limited, but they did pretty good with the space that they had. The prices were also pretty good for pizza. Both pizzas mentioned above were $15 each. Drinks: We got water, but it seemed there were other drink options at the bar in the back. Parking: A few spots in the front and plenty of street Parking. I don't know why I have waited so long to try this! I love pizza and this place is up there with the best in the New Orleans area. It's right off the ferry in Algiers point. We were concerned about the wait time since it was the night before Thanksgiving, but we got seated and served immediately. The menu is pretty small, but fantastic. Two of us split a Caesar salad, arancini, and a pepperoni pizza. The salad was terrific, very lemony dressing and the croutons were warm, which was awesome. The arancini were an order of three and they were the size of tennis balls. Crunchy on the outside and gooey. Personally I could have used more sauce but there was plenty and I'm just greedy. Apparently the kitchen was slammed with to go orders, and our server apologized for the delay, which was weird because I didn't think it was taking very long, but good to know they're normally lightning fast! The pizza was fantastic. It had the kind of pepperoni that curls and cups when it gets warm, which I love. The dough was delicious, with that little bit of char from the pizza oven. A cute little spot in Algiers point, this place did not disappoint and was totally worth the drive from uptown. I went here with a friend and we got two pizzas and meatballs to share, with plenty of leftovers for the both of us. I got a seasonal pizza with poblano cream sauce and she got a red sauce with pepperoni pizza. Crust was thin but chewy at the edges and packed with flavor. The meatballs were tender and easily broke apart. My only slightly negative comment was the service was extremely slow and we waited a long bit before we were able to order. They did have a decent sized party outside they were attending to, so I totally get it the service miss in that instance. Dined here on a Monday evening with my spouse. Parking was easy and we were greeted by many employees upon entering. Joelle was our server; she was very knowledgeable and sweet. She told us that all the toppings such as the sausage were made in-house. We ordered the arancini, Salsiccia pizza, and the chocolate budino for dessert. The arancini was great. As for the pizza; I hate to burst you all's bubbles, but the pizza here was not all that! I was not impressed. Perhaps it was because of my recent trip to Illinois? My family ate there last night for dinner, and let me tell you it was nothing short of amazing. When you walk in and have that big wood fired oven churning out delicious pizzas right in front of you, you eat with your eyes before you ever even take a seat. The staff was incredible last night, made my 4 year old feel like a rockstar and equally as important as anyone in their restaurant. We ordered the arancini and meatballs for apps. Both incredible with that insanely delicious and savory red sauce. For pizzas we got the Pepperoni and the Fun Gus. Charred poblano cream sauce on a pizza, SIGN ME UP. The pizza was soft and chewy, while still being firm and i swear on everything i hold dear that i could eat a pizza of just crust because the dough is that incredible. I wanted to love this place because it's in my neighborhood but it was a huge disappointment and I do not recommend Arancini - no flavor no seasoning and the marinara sauce "dip" tasted like just tomatoes only plus is that it was fried well Meatballs - one giant bite and instantly regretted it! Smell and texture of cat food! We ordered 2 pizzas and while both looked visually appetizing unfortunately they were soggy on the bottom and gummy in the middle. Nighthawk Napoletana opened in Algiers this weekend in the former location of Tavolinos. They said that they should have a full menu next week, but for now they had 3 pizzas and a salad. Don't waste your time. After 45 minutes without getting my food and the bartender not being able to give me any kind of ETA of when I could expect my pizza, I left. The staff cannot keep up with the online orders and the dining room. If you dine in you ultimately get backlogged in the mix of online and call in orders. That being said, there's only like 5 or 6 tables and maybe 6 bar stools. I think dine in guests should have some kind of priority in regard to wait time. Left and went to Ancora, sat at the bar, and had a pizza within 10 minutes. Won't be driving to the West Bank again for pizza any time soon. read more

We had the most amazing time at Nighthawk Napoletana last night. Incredible cocktails, fun Italian wine, and such amazing food! We started with the Beans Gigante and the Marinated Olives. Definitely get the bread to go with! Such amazing flavors and they were both marinated in the best olive oils Just begging for a glass of wine. Definitely get the bread to go with it so you can dip! Then we shared the Hot Boi pizza (add honey) and a classic Margherita. Definitely the best classic italian pizza in New Orleans. Our bartender was awesome and they even let me test out their new gimlet special. We then finished off with the most beautiful and delicate little cannolis and a chocolate budino, which were both delightful. So worth the drive to Algiers! We will definitely be back! read more
