So glad we tried Forchetta's for dinner. They just opened up a few weeks ago Da Polini's old space on Walsingham. The food was cooked perfectly, was served hot and was super delicious. They start you off with warm homemade italian bread and nicely spiced oil to dip. There were 7 of us in our group, we all had something different and everyone was thrilled with their food. I had the Veal Marsala with a side order of Fettuccini Alfredo. My mom ordered the Buschetta. The noodles (and gnocchi) are made fresh daily and it was one of the best I have anywhere. Others had the Red Snapper, Veal with Vodka Sauce, Lasagna and Fettuccini with Porcinin Mushrooms. Desserts we tried the Lemon Sorbet and the Cannoli. YUM! Can't wait to go back to sample some other great recipes. The food was moderately priced, what you would expect for good italian food in this area. I did think the most of the appetizers and salads especially were overpriced, however, and so we skipped those this time. The atmosphere was subtle, intimate and music of course was Italian. The owners were there to personally meet and greet their guests. Welcoming and warm. A great addition to our community. We will be making this one of our regular stops. read more

This is a wonderful family run Italian restaurant. Saw the reviews and had to give it a try and we were not let down. The atmosphere is very warm and the service staff are wonderful. We ate here twice in February and it felt like eating with friends. It is so nice when you are treated in a warm and friendly manner and you know the owners and staff are so glad you came in. The food is wonderful. I had the spaghetti with clams on my second visit and I lost count of the number of clams I had. On my first visit the Porcini Risotto was perfecto! From the delicious bread to start the meal to the beautifully presented tiramisu to top off the evening, not a note was missed. Only regret is we only visit for the month of February and will have to wait a year to return. Certainly a bucket list return restaurant for us! What an incredibly wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in, the service and atmosphere were top notch. The owner, Emanuela, greeted us at the door with a bright smile and welcoming heart. As we were seated she told us a bit of their history as restauranteers and what makes their foods special. Their culinary experience shined through brightly. The staff went above and beyond to get everything exactly right, from spot on drink recommendation to the final succulent desserts and everything in between. Now to the food... Absolutely scrumptious in every way. I ordered the Fettuccine al Porcini. The pasta was so fresh, made in house daily. The mushroom and cream sauce was out of this world. The added truffle oil put it over the top! Che piatto fantastico! My wife had the Pollo Piccata with a side of pasta. She loved it to her last bite, with enough to take home for a midnight snack. The chicken was melt in your mouth tender and the piccata sauce was delectable. We polished off the evening with Cannoli for desert. We fought over who got the last morsel. Just the right amount of rich and creamy sweetness in a crunchy cinnamon dusted shell. This our go-to Italian eatery from this day forward. Five star service and food at a price that matches the value. Whether it's a special occasion or just a casual visit, this is THE place to go. The owner was very welcoming and our server was terrific. Food was good especially the veal Marsala. I would improve the Caesar salad, add fresh croutons. From the moment we entered this charming bistro, we were warmly greeted by the hostess/owner. Immediately seated, the very attentive wait staff provided choice of water and menus . Never rushed, we heard options and recommendations from the extensive menu and dinner specials from our knowledgeable waiter. We both very much enjoyed our choices; the special Mediterranean Bronzino, and the classic Chicken Parmesan. The pairing of a fairly priced SuperbTuscan fit perfectly. As we prepared to leave, the hostess asked if we were satisfied. My husband noted than that only were we pleased, but also very impressed with the large open kitchen he could view all through dinner. He noted how well the chef worked with his modest staff, and especially that it was visually very clean. Delighted by his comments we were then greeted by the chef/owner who was so appreciative to hear these positive remarks. This place is amazing! The staff were super friendly and this was the best Italian food we've found. Absolutely delicious! We loved everything we ordered - my husband said the carbonara was the best he's ever had. The restaurant is classy and intimate, but also comfortable and relaxed. I loved the flowers and candles on each table. Even though it's a 30 minute drive, we will be back often and will be telling friends and family. read more

My friend recommended this place, so we came for lunch. It's a cute little place with a nice outdoor seating area, but it was cold and cloudy so opted to eat inside. This is a table cloth place. Our server provided impeccable service. We had some nice bread with a good olive oil dip. I ordered a Prosecco and it came in its own individual bottle. Nice touch. I had lemon chicken (with side of broccoli) which came with soup or salad. I chose the soup-minestrone -and it was so good. My friend ordered a Caesar salad with a salmon filet and boy that looked good too! Topped it off with a cup of espresso. It was a really nice experience. I definitely would recommend. The food was great. We ordered the antipasto rustica as an appetizer and it was a great variety of meats, cheese, and other foods. We ordered gnocchi al Ragu and chicken parmigiana and they were both amazing! For dessert I ordered the profiterole and my boyfriend ordered the cannoli and they were to DIE for. The service was great, our waiter answered all of our questions and provided suggestions. We forgot his name after getting home, he was working the outdoor area and was amazing. He was super friendly too! The weather was great so we were able to sit outside and it was beautiful. They have cute little outside as well as great music. We were greeted by owner Emmanuela like she was welcoming us into her home , the space is perfect with low noise factor. Igor our waiter recommended a delicious white wine from the Rome region 2023 Anthium Bellone ,magnificent. Started with very lite Calamari Fritti, best i have had in Florida. Main course was Fettuccini Bolognese ( fettuccini & gnocchi are homemade on site ) and wife has a special pasta dish with filet tips ; amazing. Been to the restaurant twice. Both times restaurant was pretty empty and both times got seated at small two top table. second time, hostess was sort of apologetic for sitting us at this table and said they had reservations for the 4 top tables. We had reservations as well. We dined, paid the bill and other tables were still empty. I could understand putting us at this small table had we just came in without reservation. For two entrees and two glasses of their house wine, after tax and tip, we were at $110 which I felt was a little pricy but the food was excellent and something that I can't find elsewhere. What an amazing find! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner last night at Forchetta. The warm greeting from the owner Manuela at the front door to the fabulous service from Will. We loved everything about our experience, the food, the ambience and the service. The Arugala e Pomodorin salad was delightful with shaved Parmesan. We both inhaled the fresh crusty bread dipped in the garlic infused olive oil and then dipped in grated Parmesan cheese. It was so good! We both had the delectable Lasagne alla Bolognese. The gravy was delicious and fresh lasagne noodles made this a dish to return for. We finished our meal by sharing one of the best, if not the best, tiramisu for dessert. As for the one negative review, malarkey. This place is 5 stars all the way. We will be back!!! read more

Higher-End Italian Done Right Every neighborhood needs that local Italian restaurant where you can get your basic pastas like lasagna and pasta Bolognese. Occasionally, though, you want a little more gourmet Italian. Forchetta does that nicely. Opened recently, the atmosphere is very nice. Staff are uniformly helpful and pleasant. The menu is extensive--larger than most places want to tackle. A shorter menu usually means that the restaurant can do all the items very well. In any case, with some guidance from our waiter, we were able to choose some excellent items. The wines by the glass seemed a little pricey. Unfortunately, only the grape variety was listed on the menu with no winery mentioned. I'm sure the server could have told me, but it would be better if listed on the menu. Complimentary bread service was much appreciated since it is getting rarer and rarer. We started with the eggplant parmigiana appetizer. I'm more used to an eggplant rollatini for an appetizer while the eggplant parmigiana is usually an entrée. In any case this appetizer was very good. For entrees we had the chicken piccata and the red snapper. Both were delicious. It was nice that the plates included a good serving of fresh vegetables. I would have appreciated a serving of pasta with a Bolognese sauce on the plate to complete a nicely composed meal. We were able to take some of our entrees home to enjoy the next day. I wish great success for Forchetta and I'll look forward to my return. read more

I saw so many good reviews and thats why we thought we would gather for my son inlaws birthdaya as a family . Disappointing decision. We used to go regular bases at what used to be ols business Da Pollanos. We went in with big hopes. The waiter had no clue of the menu. When asked what was the oil served as starter with bread he had to go and ask. Vegetable oli???? never heard of normally italian restorans serve the best virgin oil from their region. Calamary dry tasteless. My lamb chops disappointing. Potatoes served along with lamb tastles.. noi herbs or seasoning...very plain and disappointing dish No one of us as a family was happy with the quality of food. We will never return. Just stay away there so many other better places... read more

My wife and I just left Forchetta after eating one of the best Italian meals we have ever had. The gnocchi was pillowy and made to perfection. The fettuccine noodles were homemade with an Alfredo sauce to die for. Service was outstanding and very welcoming. We will be back every time we're in town. Bravo! read more

The only "real" Italian Restaurant in Pinellas County. And in Largo, not St Pete! Very friendly head waitress and assistants. Very attentive. Nice tasteful decor, table settings. Calimari was great. Octopus also excellent. Bread fresh, and 1st class bakery grade. But the dipping oil didnot appear to be 1st pres virgin, but seemed to be 2nd press yellow oil, as it lacked the flavor of virgin although tasty garlic infused. The dipping oil/bread is an American thing, but still appreciated. Fettucini with mushrooms- very good, bursting with flavor, but note - very, very heavy on the butter. I got the pasta with clam sauce, (vongole) and this unfortunately was a big disappointment as the pasta was not al dente, but precooked mush. I noticed it as it was being placed in front of me, one can tell these things. Al dente spaghetti is the signature sign/test for an Italian restaurant. The beer selection - I like IPA's, and they had only one brand, a puny 10.14oz bottle, West Coast IPA, and high priced. Not worth it. It was not one of the better Brands one is used to. Get the water. Menu is a bit pricey as well. I noticed he table next to us ordered pizza. My guess is they may not have a wood fired brick oven for their pizza as they are a bragging point for such restaurants, and they usually are situated in plain view of people walking into the main room. Also, for logistics. I have travelled to Italy every year. For the past 50 years. Been to restaurants/pizzerias from Bormio, Como, Florence, San Gimignano, Genova, Rome, Venice, and all the way down to Siracusa, Sicily. Yes, I speak.
