I super appreciate how nice and genuine Eric is at this repair shop. The under carriage of my car got torn up (drove over something that got kicked up on the freeway) and he was able to throw my car on a lift, show me what was wrong, and let my car stay parked there for two days until my insurance provided tow truck could come and pick my car up. Not to make this about being a girl, but - I appreciate that Eric was so many things: friendly, kind, quick, knowledgable, respectful... I've had my oil changed here before as well - pricing was decent, the job was finished in adequate time, and I wasn't upsold. There was no real pressure at this shop, which is huge for me. So often, I feel like women will walk into automotive places and feel pressured into purchasing and doing and blah blah, when it isn't needed. I was in Costa Mesa for the week from out of town, when I experienced car trouble. Ford's Automotive was recommended to me as reliable car service. I took my car (Ford Edge) in, explained the issue and my dilemma, Eric evaluated the situation, explained my options in detail. We agreed on the best and correct way to do the repair. He ordered the part, when the part came in we set an appointment to bring the car in as I had no other transportation and some time constraints so I had to wait while the repair was done. The repair took approximately 2 hrs. and I was on my way. Eric was very kind, honest, respectful and informative. I felt he went out of his way to do the job in a timely manner based on my situation. I came here a year ago before I was moving to Yosemite! They did an awesome job at fixing my car right up to drive up there! They seem to really care and know what they are doing! The only reason why I missed a star was because the pricing was a bit much for certain things I had done. But they do give you excellent, quality service ! So it makes up for that! Turned away my business. The window regulator broke in my 2010 Escape, causing my door window to drop down and not respond to the motor switch. This is a problem I have experienced before. The part is not one repair shops stock. I went to the Ford dealership on Harbor Blvd and even they had to order it from their warehouse. I was working under the assumption that having the part would expedite the repair. I prefer to support local small businesses which is why I did not have the dealership make the repair. I picked up the part and took it directly to Ford's, in its factory sealed box. To my disappointment, Ford's turned away my business. While the staff member was polite, he told me they have a policy to not install customer provided parts. This is a genuine Ford part not an aftermarket knock-off. It did not matter that they would have to acquire it through the very process I had just completed and had the paperwork to support. Ford's policy literally sent me to a competitor. At this point I haven't even gotten a phone call back . In a way good for me not going, who knows how long they wouldn't fix my car. I am only writing this review because I called once just like everyone on ells to get a quote. They did pick up and told be they where very busy, fine . I finally was able to make time to make an appointment but I call three times already and no answer. I left two voicemails and no call backs. I hope they get better with the customer service. I know I don't have to go here and I can go anywhere ells but I felt that they need to work on there answering the phone. read more

Erik Brown at Ford's Automotive is the man. He is very helpful and treats you exactly how you should be treated when your car need servicing. Ford's cuts out the BS and tells you what needs fixing today and what can wait until next time. Their prices are decent (who said fixing your car is cheap) and you are never up-sold on things you don't need. I have been going to Ford's since the late 90's and have never had a bad experience. Horrible experience calling to bring in my Ford F-150 truck. Talked to Victor who was more than happy to serve a Ford family member. When I called to bring it in was denied service by the lead tech saying "I don't want to chase down issues". I believe this is why it's a service shop!
