This could be a really great restaurant, but it appears to be poorly managed. The theme is engaging, the "garage" style decorations, throughout, really add to the ambiance, and the menu is extensive and entertaining. Our first experience there was for my wife's birthday during the beginning of April. Our kids and young grandkids attended, and there was about 14 of us. Our waitress was not very effective in getting us set up or served in a timely fashion, or in ensuring that we had what we needed. The food was enjoyable, but our main contention is the manner in which they did NOT properly handle a situation that occurred before we left. MY WIFE FELL! The pathway between the dining area and the restrooms is adjacent to the open kitchen entrance. The floor in this restaurant is a shiny finished concrete. The area coming out of the kitchen was a bit greasy. My wife slipped and fell, while returning from the restroom, knocking down one of the folding tray supports as she hit the ground. NO ONE amongst the staff offered assistance as she got up. We alerted some of the (young) staff about this incident, but no one seemed to know how to react. We finally got ahold of the Manager, Greg Baldia, who seemed apologetic, and openly admitted that the area there was a problem, and that he did not understand why the owner's didn't change the floor surface. He immediately had one of the staff put down floor mats and signs in the area where my wife fell (see picture). Not knowing of any potential extent of injury that my wife may have endured, we requested that Greg fill out an incident report, which he did. He then gave us his card, along with the card of the General Manager, Jason McBride. He felt confident that Jason would call us immediately. A couple of days later, Jason called and left a voicemail on my wife's cell phone. My wife called him back and had to leave her own voicemail. THAT WAS IT! No follow-up, no apology, no gift card in the mail, NOTHING! Maybe they are waiting for a lawsuit?? Maybe they just don't care?? My wife owns a company that trains our staff (over 130) to be proper customer service representatives. This behavior would never fly with our company. read more

There are car parts in the restaurant, the wait staff is dressed to look like mechanics, in the bathroom there's tire like sinks; it's completely themed and they've done a great job following through. This restaurant is mostly known for their selection of craft beers and selection of burgers. Each time Ive ate there I've had a different burger and they're all great. Whether you want to create your own or choose from one of their preassembled options. You can also make changes and substitutions to whatever's on the menu. Allergic. Can't go back. Normally I prefer to post positive reviews, since more than enough people complain. But our experience last night is worthy of an exception. Simple story: 1. informed very nice waitress of allergy to onions; 2. she informs cook; 3. burger is delivered, covered with sauteed onions; 4. we send it back; 5. in 3-4 minutes it is returned with no onions (though also without cheese, but after a while one gives up and just accepts it). We pointed out the problem to the waitress and the manager. It's not the first time we've had this problem at this location. Both were very nice about it, but more defensive than apologetic. I guess that's not too surprising, but neither seemed to recognize the fact that there was a breakdown in their process that needs to be addressed, not excused or ignored. So far, nothing that would have motivated a negative review, but here's the kicker: based on physical symptoms later in the night, we can't shake the conviction that the cook just scraped the onions off and sent the burger back. We can't prove it, but in an abundance of caution, we won't go back. It's a real shame, too, as this has been one of our go-to places in the neighborhood for a reliably tasty and inexpensive meal. Had high hopes for this place after a few recommendations from locals and decent Yelp reviews but left supremely disappointed. Our waitress was not overly energetic or pleasant. When our burgers came, my father had my side dish with his burger and his burger was not cooked how he requested it. The burger in general is very average.. tastes like every other burger I've ever gotten at a restaurant and we even paid extra to order the usada "prime" which is supposed to be a higher cut of beef. The cherry on top was when the waitress set my burger down, I saw a gnat looking bug crawling on my bun. It's Florida, the windows were open, so I got rid of the bug and forgot about it. Bad news is when I went in the restroom, there were 2 more of those bugs on the wall in front of me. I would not make it a point to go here. read more

Ford memorabilia everywhere. There is a lot of cool scenery at Ford's Garage. There are plenty of tv's for sports or just to grab a bite after a long day shopping at the outlet stores. We started with the spinach artichoke dip My wife and her aunt shared a mix of sliders and they where all delicious. This is a fun place to eat and hang out. Very close to the FGCU campus. The food is pretty good, the beer selection is decent. There are a few TVs around to watch sports if you want to, which we did. There is often a line to eat here. The menu is pretty large, and some of it is quite good. I will come back again when I am in town. My only reason for deducting one star is that when we went, it was not full. It was perhaps 1/2 full. The service was quite slow. It took a looong time for them to figure out someone to come offer us drinks. At the table next to us was an employee eating their own food. Very slender female. She looked lost, like she was in a daze or something. The decor is fun and cool. Part of our food came out before the other part, think they forgot some of it. The apps came out about 2 minutes before the dinners. Stuff happens and I am sure they will get better. Good place for a dinner and or drink stop when you are visiting FCGU. read more

I went to the other location several years ago and it was yummy and had a great atmosphere and I felt the same way about this location. We went mostly for drinks which were delicious. I got a beer cocktail - hoppy and tropical. I also ordered pretzel sticks with cheese dip. I loved all the details of the decor. For example, the napkins were shop towels, the sinks were gas nozzles and there was a old fashioned Ford car out front. This is the perfect restaurant to go to if you're shopping or visiting the area. I also recommend visiting the Ford Edison home museum nearby. read more

Overall, pretty good! My husband said his burger tasted like a charred patty and not much else. I got the Berries 'N cheese (something like that!) and loved it. Waitress asked if I wanted the dressing on the side or tossed it, I wish she would have mentioned that everyone in our party of 6 could have taken a scoop and I would still have an entree sized salad left. She was overall good, until she said she had to close us out because her shift was over, yet continued to serve other customers. Kat then to came to help us...talk about an unpleasant employee. When I went to leave I made it about 30 feet out of the door before the bartender came yelling and running after me saying "Hey buddy! You gonna pay for your drinks?!" I suggested we try out Ford's Garage to my husband. We live in Naples and drove up to Miromar Outlets for this purpose. There was a 45 minute wait, to be expected at 2pm on busy Sunday. They will text you so you can shop. We came back, were seated outside, live music playing outside, great exterior. It goes downhill from here. Our server did not explain anything to us about the menu, offer a starter, etc. We ordered pretzels for an app and burgers as they were off the menu. An hour later a man brought the pretzels, apologized and said they were on him. People around us that came in later got their food, while others that had been there longer than us were still waiting. We never complained..yet. 30 minutes later, we left money on the table and started to walk off. The server stopped my husband and gave him the manager's card. I am in the hospitality business as a Concierge; my job is actually referring guests to restaurants. Guess which one I won't be? I know what it is like to be busy in season. I get one day if I am lucky to spend with my husband, so our time together is very valuable, I am sorry it was wasted. read more

I've never been disappointed with the food at Ford's Garage (although I am upset they no longer to endless mimosas on weekends). I've tried a few of their burgers and have yet to find one that is under-seasoned or poorly cooked. This isn't a 5-star restaurant, but it has great comfort food with an amazing atmosphere. Employees are always decked out in Ford's gear that pays homage to the earlier years. You'll always find an old Ford car nestled in the middle of the wrap-around bar that has a fully functioning horn and spinning wheels. One of the newer things I've noticed at the Miromar location is the strip along the bar that helps keep your drink cool. Definitely an added 'wow' factor for all of you craft beer drinkers that have the problem of beers getting too warm after a while. Friendly reminder...If you're going during season for lunch or dinner, be prepared for a wait! Both the Downtown and Miromar locations get packed and it will take longer than usual to receive your food. It's not the servers' faults, it's just the fact that their kitchen is super busy with the other 25+ orders they're dealing with. My suggestion? Look at a menu as you're waiting for a table so that you can order a quick and easy app to keep you satisfied while you're waiting for your main meal. read more

Unfortunately, what could have easily been a 5-star review due to the food and service (because both were great!), I ended up only giving 2 stars due to the manager - I didn't catch her name or remember it from her shirt but she is blonde. She was so RUDE and came across as 'Cold' to us when we came in the door, almost like we were a bother to her. But, it didn't stop there, the way she was treating the other staff was the same way. She talked down to them and it was almost a feeling of trying to make them look bad and herself look better; even though she ended up giving off the exact opposite feeling to me and my family. Can I review a place based on the bathroom because I Ford's restroom is great. I mean tire sinks and gas pump faucets. I love a good ambiance and Ford's does this well. We decided to come here based on the 150 beers on tap. Maybe we did something wrong but we sat outside and there were far less than 150 to pick from. We should have asked where the other 140 beers were but it didn't seem like we were able to order any from inside while sitting outside. Ah well. Next time ;) Also the deep fried pickles are amazing to get those. read more
