My husband and I split 4 sliders plus a basket of fries and it was the perfect amount of food. We got the brisket, Wagyu, bistro, and French onion. They were all delish but the French onion was definitely the star here - surprisingly! All were very tasty and fresh, I loved all the unique topping options. Fries were thin crinkle cut which I thought was pretty unique and fun. There was a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating plus TVs which I'm sure they play games on. I really enjoyed the jerk honey butter, bistro, and bacon blue sliders with fries. A nice surprise was how fresh the Mountain Dew tasted. My server, Hannah, was delightful--great service and a friendly smile. My food came out in under ten minutes. Fat Katz is amazing! The started the Fat Katz Sports, Bistro bar by Daniels Parkway and I-75 many years ago. We love it at first try! Then they expanded into Gateway with breakfast and lunch with Skinny Dogz Brunchery. Now they open another one, Fat Katz Slider Bar at University Village near FGCU or Florida Gulf Coast University. Originally, I wanted to try their sliders but a sign stated they have the Pastrami Rueben Sandwich. So, I ordered my favorite Pastrami Rueben with a side order of black bean over rice and a High Five IPA from our local Fort Myers Brewing Co. The Pastrami Rueben need a little more sauerkraut for my personal preference, but otherwise, it is fine. The black bean over rice is perfect! You can taste the bay leaves and other spices with the cooked beans. This is a meal by itself! The High Five IPA has that distinctive citrus flavors and dry hop with a pine and citrus aroma. This is great combo for lunch and a good way to start the weekend early! Well, sliders will take a back seat for now! May be on the next visit! read more

Pro tip: you probably only need one slider. These are literally fat sliders. My husband typically eats twice as much as me and even he can't eat two! RUN, don't walk!!! I have been hearing such great things about Fat Katz (the OG) and after going to skillets for brunch a couple of weeks ago we noticed this slider bar had just opened. I have been planning on coming here since they did a soft opening Jan 6th and man am I so glad we came!! The sliders are affordable $4.99-7.99 each and you can add a side to any slider for $3! It was truly hard to pick which sliders, as there are so many options. I got the Bryce beef slider and the Buffalo chicken slider. Let me tell you, the first bite into the Bryce was an "oh my gosh" reaction. It was melt in your mouth and I'll be dreaming about it for months to come! The sliders are very filling. Personally, I only needed 2 with waffle fries (great portion), but I could see those with bigger appetites needing 3. Our server Heather was wonderful. She was so attentive, so kind, helpful, and genuine. I liked that she didn't have her whole pitch rehearsed and just went with the flow. Highly recommend her! The ambiance was very nice. I love university village and on this beautiful day, sitting outside was perfect. This will have to be our spot from now on. Another new restaurant in university village. This one is a fantastic addition. I got the biscuits and gravy and the white hot chicken. The biscuits and gravy were average and I won't get them again. So why would I give this 5 stars? The white hot chicken was amazing. Crisp chicken and a great creamy white sauce with a kick of siracha. It was on the online menu only so check that out for more options. I also ate food off my families plates and those were great too. The wagu burger was so rich and sweet. Great food and service in this little spot near FGCU. We had a break between games and this was a near-perfect dining experience. Looked like they forgot the bacon on my husband's bacon chili cheeseburger slider, but he never complained. It was still pretty tasty.
