This place came recommended for its beer. Ate at the outside bar as we are from Boston and it being 5 days before Xmas and 80 degrees We'd be foolish not to. The bar tender, Ashley, was very knowledgeable about the beer styles and flavors. The burgers were very good as well. Even the people at the bar were friendly. i never write reviews but holy shit. i'm an avid mac and cheese eater and i can definitely say that the lobster and shrimp mac and cheese was seriously the best mac and cheese i've ever had! it wasn't too heavy but still SO full of flavor. my boyfriend got a burger and the white cheddar mashed potatoes and it was absolutely phenomenal. not to mention, i got this for take out and it was delicious. i recommend this place to anyone who is looking for some amazing comfort food. read more

Most recent visit was not good. Came with a party of 8 plus 3 kids. I understand restaurants have trouble with large parties and it can often take longer which I expected. This experience however was ridiculous. It was a Sunday evening in the off season and the restaurant was about half full. The host/hostess was very confused as to how to seat us. Finally asked a server for help and they pushed some tables together, it would have been enough room for the adults but we also needed 3 high chairs. I explained this to him and he told me that it will work we can fit 10 at this table. I said great but we have 11. He insisted that it would work instead of pulling over one of the other 15 open tables that were nearby. We made it work but nobody in the party was comfortable the entire meal. Drink order took forever, so long that as soon as she brought my first Luke warm beer I ordered another because I knew how long it would take. They did not have any kids menus available and said they need to go to the office to print some. Now anyone that has ever been out to dinner with 3 kids under the age of 3 knows the struggle. These kids need to eat ASAP before their attention is on to something else. After she brought our drinks we ordered 3-4 appetizers and asked for a kids menu to which she replied she was working on it. Appetizers came and still no kids menu. When asked for the third time she said she could probably just tell us what's on it. It was a valiant effort but didn't know prices, drinks or side offerings. We just dealt with it as I was with family and did not want to create a scene by letting her know how incompetent she was. I ordered the Black and Blue burger which I had tried on a previous visit and loved. This time it was not nearly as good. In fact, everyone in our party pretty much echoed the same feelings. Seems as if the quality has gone down hill and they are just going through the motions instead of trying to create a quality product. This burger is a very famous burger according to the people that live in this area. The burger is then served with some fries. There isn't a lot which is perfect but they give you enough to give you a side order for the burger. On the other hand, the atmosphere here is awesome. We really like Ford's Garage restaurants! We've been to ones in Orlando, downtown Ft. Myers and Estero many times. The variety of menu choices on the menu is perfect! Love the tower of onion rings, burgers are delish, Henry's chicken and meat loaf are excellent comfort foods. We've sampled their chicken and pulled pork sandwiches also - again very tasty! Had an hr to kill driving to Tampa from Miami, yelped this place and was very excited to try it out.... but after sitting for20-25minites at the bar and drank two glasses of coke, a couple sat next to me and and they ordered, another 20 minutes go by and they get there food before me, the bartender didn't even put my order of just a burger and fries in people!! Have eaten here several times as well as the one in Ft Myers. Unique place with great décor for the car enthusiast. Kind of like a mini museum/restaurant together. Hamburgers are A-1 and the fish is a huge piece! Napkins are blue shop rags held with hose rings!! Onion rings are served on an upside down funnel. Shakes are thick and delicious. I have been to all three Ford's Garage locations in the area, the theme is great and very well executed, I love the ice ring around the bar to keep your drinks cold and they have a very tempting menu. We went to this location before a concert at nearby Germain arena and, once again, this one never quite measures up to the others. The service was slow, the food managed to be average, that was our second order managed to be average, our initial order of chicken nachos was dry, tasteless and missing ingredients, when we asked for pico do gallo, she said they were making some, she later came back and said they didn't have anyone that could make more, so we ordered the buffalo chicken dip and some onion rings, the chips with the dip tasted stale. Luckily we'd gone early enough that we weren't in a hurry, because it took an average of 15-20 minutes to get a drink from the bar. (Unless that was our servers error?) Not sure if they did not have the staff to clean up a spill or if they had some kind of leak going on, but taking a trip to the restroom was a dangerous prospect, the floor was either greasy or wet and very slippery by the entrance to the kitchen/restroom hallway, they had moved rugs and many towels to the area to try to alleviate the mess, but I saw many customers, myself included, trying to cautiously walk after leaving the restroom as the hallway left a slick coating on the bottom of your shoes. Honestly, I think the location in this busy outlet mall, with few other food choices, is part of what keeps this restaurant afloat, I returned again due to the convenient location next to Germain arena, I hope each time I will have a better experience, but I have yet to. read more

But, it ends there. We ordered the onion ring tower as an appetizer. It looked great, but I wouldn't know. It never came out. Roughly 35-40 minutes later, yes it was busy, our burgers came out. Both had pink, medium rare, paddles in them. Both were medium well. We told our bartender we never got the onion rings and she was very apologetic. That's appreciated. Service was fine. The burgers were either well over cooked or they sat under the lights for a long time. Hopefully, not everyone's meal was like this because it was busy. Overall, it was ok. I'm a tourist. Had the French Onion soup and a lettuce wrap burger delivered to my hotel from Uber Eats. The poor lady couldn't locate the hotel and was concerned my food was cold. My experience at Fords Garage was terrible this evening. It was not the food that ruined my families night out, rather it was the poor level of management from the management staff. The manager was rude, unresponsive and mean to my family and the server staff. If I want to watch angry people work a kitchen, I would go to my wife's family for thanksgiving. What I did not like was that the appetizer (French onion soup) came out after the burgers came out. Nothing like trying to eat hot soup and switching to the burger getting cold. I had the signature Ford burger cooked medium well, but it was still quite pink---I'd say it looked more medium or medium rare even and I do typically like a little pinkness.
