Very cute small bakery on old main street Issaquah. They decorate the inside like a magical forest, true to name. When I went there in the afternoon, I could see they had sold out of a lot of things but there were just a few options: cookies, some savory breads, a sweet bread loaf. I purchased the cinnamon swirl bread loaf for $7 which is pricier than the grocery store but cheaper than some artisan bakers at the farmer's market. They also offer coffee and tea drinks at a reasonable price, and whole pies and cakes to order (if I remember correctly). When I got home and tried the bread, I was floored with how good it was. The sweetness and firmness of the bread was just perfect to me. The outer crust is a beautiful brown and just thick enough to provide a little texture and flavor. The swirl is done well - there are no big pockets in the bread. The crumb is compact but not dense. It is easy to slice and enjoyable toasted or as is. I ate it alone, with nut butter, with jam. It would be wonderful as french toast. I dream about the bread and wish I lived closer to purchase it once a week. I also got a gingerbread man cookie which was perfectly seasoned and not dry. Note that the customer area in the front is kind of small so this place is mostly for take-out. I'd like to come back and try more things to see how well they do their other baked goods. read more

I love looking at pastries when I'm at the farmers market, and so we stopped by their stand at the Issaquah Farmers Market. My bf saw that they had a platter of cinnamon rolls (containing four or five rolls), and wanted to try it. He told them if he really likes them, he'll be back the next week, and we were back the next week. My bf loved the cinnamon rolls; he loved it so much, he didn't even share, didn't think of saving me a taste, a bite from the four or five cinnamon rolls he ate all himself. And we went back for more, and luckily we got there in time for their last thing of cinnamon rolls. And I decided to try their Jalapeño Bread, which was good. The staff at the stand were really friendly. We decided to take at least a week break from the Issaquah Farmers Market, because we've been overdoing it on the pastries, but I'm sure we'll be back soon, or at least checkout their shop. read more

I was visiting from out of town on my son's birthday so I decided to buy a cake for everyone to share. I ordered this cake 07/07/2024 to be picked up on 07/11/2024. I was looking forward to trying the cake. I was able to add customization's. I was emailed my receipt verifying the date I was to come pick up. I called the day before to confirm that I would be there the following day. The next day (Saturday) I get to the cake shop the sign says they're temporarily closed Saturdays. I wouldn't be able to get my order until Monday. Even though I placed the order through their system for Saturday! I attempted to get a refund. Called Monday morning and the person who I spoke with gave me a terrible attitude and basically told me she wasn't going to refund my money and hung up. From there I filed a dispute with my bank and had to wait 3 months for the dispute to go through. Spare yourself the hassle of dealing with these people. read more

We make every effort we can to stop in. This place is so cute and magical it draws my family back and we all have our favorite items. I always get a loaf of something, a few cookies, a batch of dough for later and whatever little seasonal item we can share with teachers, medical friends and more. Purchased a cheesy (like focaccia) bread here at Issaquah Farmers market. You could see the steam inside the bags to tell us it was freshly made! We ate most of it when we got home. It had a great balance of not too much cheese and fresh bread. We finished it up the next day with it sitting in our pantry and was just as good. $7.50 well spent supporting a local small business. read more

I'm SO DISAPPOINTED! I was so excited to support this local business. I ordered 2 smash cakes. The cake decorator and I communicated over text. The ONLY really specific thing I wanted was to have PASTEL rainbow. I sent a few pictures for reference. She seemed to understand. When I picked up the cakes they were really dark in color and the frosting was sloppy. She told me if I didn't like the cakes I " didn't have to take them!" It felt like a really snarky rude response. I didn't want to offend her but it was not at all what we discussed. She told me that I could "just go to a grocery store then" I'm sorry on time. We were waiting for our friends for lunch so decided to check this place out. It's a little off the main downtown Issaquah area and in this weird little corridor, so you would definitely miss it if you aren't looking for it. Anyways, we asked the lady what was good and what she recommended and we ended up with the chocolate zucchini bread with walnuts and the orange and apricot bread. Both were ok. My friends and I like the orange and apricot better just because of the citrusy flavor. The zucchini bread was too crumbly. It would be a messy eat. But nothing really special. Paid $23 for a lemon bread, whole wheat banana bread with walnuts, cinnamon roll, and red velvet cake. I got this from the farmers market. I wanted to support a local business and didn't mind paying this steep price for a super tiny loaf of breads, but it's tough because the cinnamon roll and red velvet were so dry and overly sweet in the icing. I was honestly hoping for a bit more cream cheese but it's like 80% sugar and 20% cream cheese. The lemon bread was not bad. I just wish they used more lemon and probably fresh lemon too. It taste very sweet as will and more like lemon extract. The banana bread was the safest bet and taste like what I expected. Overall their sweet breads are very moist but everything else, avoid. read more

The baker was super helpful in making custom branded cookies for my recent one-year anniversary event. They were reasonably priced and made them with very little notice. They were very well-made and one of the better tasting "designer" cookies that I've had as they can sometimes be too dry and bland. I look forward to going back again and trying some of the many delicious looking desserts they had to offer. read more

We wanted a baseball themed cake with the typical red, white and blue signature color scheme for my son's first birthday. What we got was not along those lines. The blue was like an ocean blue rather than the navy blue as shown on the photo we sent. Didn't go with our cake topper nor banner nor any other blue we would have thought acceptable. The flavoring we chose was almond with the strawberry filling and buttercream frosting. We picked up the day before serving, cut in to the cake, and it was dry. We stored it as we were told as well. When we reached out to the bakery, she said the color could not be made as the dye would seep in to the flavor of the cake. We did get an apology however, she mentioned she 'intentionally' used less dye due to the flavor transferring. Had I known the color would be off and the cake would be dry, I would not have ordered from the bakery. Tiny little family owned bakery in Front Street...a blink and you'll miss it kind of place. It's a great place to get breads and loaves, but if you're looking for a beautifully decorated dessert created by someone who went to pastry school then you're out of luck. Everything's very basic, rounds of soft breads with different flavors, sticky buns, cookies, and brownies. I'm really not fond of basic desserts like just a chocolate chip cookie so it's not my kind of place, but everything tastes on point. I really don't have the biggest sweet tooth so if I'm going to eat a dessert, I want it to be the best one ever with complex flavors and a little something extra. Their bread is where they really excel though! No preservatives or anything, so if you buy one then MAKE SURE you refrigerate it. Assuming you have anything left. It is super cute in a kitschy way. In keeping with the name, the shop is fairy themed right up to the guy wearing green fairy wings behind the counter. My daughter loved it. In keeping with the theme, they have mini bread loaves along with their full sized loaves for sale. I loved this idea as I love bread but never want to buy too much. They also have fairy decorated cookies. You get the idea. I bought a mini loaf of the multi-grain, a brioche roll for my daughter, and a honey nut bar (made with local honey). I really wanted a challah bread, but it was too big and my daughter insisted on the small brioche roll. She loves little versions of things so this bakery was just right for her. All of the baked goods were good quality. The bread was delicious. It gets only three stars because the baked items are really basic (as another reviewer has pointed out) and there isn't a lot of variety. This bakery really is best to go to for the breads. Even those are pretty standard. Still, I'll definitely be back to buy more. read more

OMG! These guys are awesome! I spotted them first at the Kirkland Wednesday Market. I saw the owner's son's girlfriend at the booth wearing fairy wings! That was my cue to go see what was going on. And what I found did not disappoint! They had an amazing selection of breads, and cookies and cupcakes. It was pure fairy heaven! I didn't buy anything that time but I did recruit them to come sell at my show, I Heart Rummage. They agreed, and they were an instant hit! At the show I bought about $30 worth of snacky goodies to take home. Even my husband was raving about how amazing the Pumpkin Spice Cake tasted. And I found my absolute new favorite: Chocolate Zuccini Cake. This is the most devilishly delicious cake ever! Stopped in today with the kiddo's because we've been wanting to try the new bakery in town. The shop itself is decorated nicely and has some great touches like the mural on the wall and the fantastic wood bench/shelf, etc. We all loved the fact that almost every item sold has a regular sized version and a "fairy sized" version. Perfect for when you just want that sweet little treat (but not too many calories) or have a little someone with you. Also perfect for your doll, should you happen to have one who goes everywhere with your little someone. The carrot cake had a nice gingery flavor and we liked the texture and taste of the chocolate chip cookies. They had a table of day old items at a special price, so we picked up some fairy brownies that had salted caramel on the top. YUM! This is a place you go to pick something up and not necessarily to eat it there. They're just getting started though, so I have high hopes that things will progress nicely as they gain momentum and customers, especially with all the other new eateries going in on Front street. Stopped in the store last week. The store interior was charming and the staff was very friendly. They had a variety of goods available (mid Saturday afternoon). The pumpkin spice bread that was available for sampling was very moist and tasty. Their zucchini bread was one of the best that I've had recently! It had the right balance of moisture without being too dense or feeling soggy and was well spiced. We also tried a variety of cookies and enjoyed all of them thoroughly. Overall, we enjoyed everything that we bought. The hardest part was convincing ourselves that didn't need to buy 1 (or more) of everything in the store. We'll definitely be going back. read more

For someone who spent couple years in Paris, I know when I see quality baked treats (Or I wish I am lol) they are truly known for their breads, mini breads and basic deserts like simply decorated cookies and brownies. If you are looking for an intricate cake decorator you won't find them here. Clean and organized and varied themed-events featured at this location. They really cater to kids and big kids at heart. Employees acknowledge almost every customer with a huge smile, and when it is morning, and you are hungry, it is a lovely way to start a day. read more

I've had their food before and loved every bite, however after today I don't think I'll return until the pandemic is over. I went into the bakery and saw several employees maskless behind the counter, who hurriedly put masks on when I came in. They were well within 6 feet of the racks in the center of the room where everything out of the oven goes to cool. I bought something out of a feeling of social obligation, but threw it away before getting home. I live with a healthcare worker and an at-risk individual, and I will not risk their health for cookies, as delicious as they may be. Last weekend we were in Issaquah for the Village Theatre Weekend of Musicals. Before the Saturday Matinee, we needed a little dessert and cappuccino. We walked about two blocks down to the FF Bakery. They were closed and we started walking back to town when the door opened and the bakery person told us to come in and she would make our coffees. What a nice gesture in today's world !!! I love this place. Amazing baked goods, family-run and always a delight. In the interest of full-transparency, though, I must also note that on my most recent visit I inquired after a cookie to learn its composition. I was told it's oatmeal chocolate chip. My favorite. It was not. It was oatmeal raisin. I know better than to blindly trust the difference between those 2 options. One is heaven; the other is hell. It is unforgivable to make that baked goods error.
