Biggest complaint was no cable tv, called the office and was advised we could move to a like cabin, that was not a option due to commitments manager advised he would have maintenance look into it Sat morning, nothing happened, blamed it on cable company. No sincere apology just rather tough crap we got your money pal. Not my first stay with these folks but may be the last. Very poor customer service

Ruidoso Lodge Cabins, oh how I would love to go back!…read more While we were there, we stayed in one of the Hidden Canyon cabins, which was so wonderfully remote. Tucked away between the foothills of the mountains, we got to experience a peaceful, quiet long weekend. There are only two other cabins on the road that ours was on, so the quietude really was palpable. In the mornings (we got up before our neighbors, apparently) it felt like we were the only two people in the whole world. Even though it was chilly, we would go out on the deck to enjoy our morning coffee (for him) and tea (for me) while listening to the creak of the trees, the chirp of birds, a distant woodpecker hunting for breakfast... it was just so lovely. Actually, the in-your-face nature reached a whole other level when we had a moment interacting with the local deer population. We were on our way to the car to head towards town, when we suddenly realized that there was a herd of deer wandering towards us. Not wanting to scare them with the car door sounds, we just stopped and stood completely still. We had expected them to just continue on their way, but they actually decided to stop and check us out. A few of them actually came right up to us and (I swear, I couldn't make this up!) licked our hands! (For the "pics or it didn't happen" people out there, please do see the pictures I've uploaded. Told you-- I couldn't make this up!) Regarding the cabin itself-- the amenities were everything we could have hoped for. The kitchen was immaculately cleaned and ready for us to make a meal in, the bathroom was lovely with its skylight and river stone shower, and the bed... well, it might have been just about the most comfortable bed the husband and I had ever slept in. Not kidding! Honestly, I can't do this place any justice by writing about it. You'll just have to go take a look at the pictures, or better yet, go stay for a weekend yourself! It really is an amazing experience.

This place is very sad and depressing. They not spending anything on taking care of the yard, no flowers, no upkeep on the cabins. There is still a duplex cabin that wash ravaged by the flood next to the cabins. Management is very difficult to get a hold of when you need something. A lots of excuses! Have a good time and stay somewhere else.

Mike and Dorothy insured that our stay was comfortable, and to add to the experience, we found a bottle of Champaign, chocolate covered strawberries, some long stem roses, and a note wishing us a happy anniversary! The rates were wonderful, and accommodating for a family on a budget, and the cabins are very well kept! My bride and I were impressed with the quietness of the Lodge, and thoroughly enjoyed the deer that seem to call this property home! My wife indulged my fly-fishing on the Rio Ruidoso which is a short and enjoyable walk from the cabin, and I indulged her antique shopping bug! What a wonderful weekend! Thank you Dorothy and Mike for running a business on Christian principles, and for being such a great couple. I feel as if my Deb and I have made some new friends, and we will definitely be staying there again!

We love these little cabins! They are very cozy and not much has changed in them since they were…read morebuilt back in the 1940s or 50s. They do have showers though! We appreciate the pet-friendliness of the cabins as well; our dogs are very much part of our family and go everywhere with us. The convenient location also means we are close to both major streets and a grocery store, although you do not hear the traffic and because of the trees, you feel like you're out in the woods.

Debbie brought a tray of fresh fruit, coffee, and oj to the room in the morning. Downstairs, she cooked an amazing breakfast with fresh eggs from her chickens, bacon, sausage, potatoes, toast/ English muffin and danish. I didn't need to eat the rest of the day. I absolutely loved the property's 2 dogs, 3 cats, and pickle the parrot. It was nice to share stories with fellow travelers. I give the stay a 5 for the hospitality, charm, breakfast, and animals. If you are looking for modern/polished/sterile accommodations this is not the place for you. I wish I had planned a longer stay.

As bird people, we enjoyed seeing so many desert and scrub Jays, woodpeckers galore and the javalinas which came to feast on the foliage each morning. We went too late to see the mid boggling number of hummingbirds that come to the feeders there. Do yourself a favor and pack everything you need. The drive from the highway to the Domes takes 30+ minutes and is on one heck of a windy mountain road. One you get up to them, you'll not want to leave. There are staples in the pantry. But you'll need to bring your own food stuff. I am not very good at "doing nothing" but somehow this place managed to slow me down and allow me the relaxation I really needed. The Domes can accommodate 1 person or 20ish. The beds are comfy and the living space has everything you need . .. except a TV. There's wifi for your phone or tablet in case you need to catch up on news, check in with family or watch a game you just can't miss. Super reasonable for a large group. Check it out!
