Brandy, Brian, and I visited Fork & Kitchen in The Square and overall had a really solid experience -- strong cocktails, generous portions, and bold flavors throughout. First, the drinks deserve their own moment. The Moco Drop (svedka, gran gala, lemon juice, simple syrup) and the Lychee & Grapefruit Spritz were both well-balanced and noticeably strong -- which I personally loved. These aren't watered-down pours; you're definitely getting a proper cocktail. Food highlights: The Branzino - beautifully pan-seared Mediterranean sea bass with lemon caper sauce and roasted asparagus. Light, flaky, and one of the most balanced dishes of the night. Butcher Cut Pork Chop - thick, bone-in, brined and fire-grilled, finished with rosemary garlic butter. Juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. Soy Garlic Noodles with Shrimp - savory, garlicky, and comforting. The shrimp were seasoned with Cajun seasoning, which added a subtle smoky heat that elevated the entire dish without overpowering it. I actually really enjoyed the Sinful Eggs -- especially the sweet relish inside, which added a nice contrast and brightness to the richness. The flavor combination worked well, and I can see why it's a popular starter. That said, one thing I didn't fully understand was why several items leaned heavily fried. The Sinful Eggs, Lamb Meatballs, and even the Crabcakes all had a fried element to them. While crispy textures can be delicious, it felt a bit repetitive across multiple dishes. I would've loved to see more variation in preparation styles to create better balance throughout the meal. Overall: great vibe, strong cocktails (huge plus), and standout entrees -- especially the fish and pork chop. With a little more variety in cooking techniques, this could easily move from a 4 to a 5 for me. I wasn't going to leave a review, but I think constructive criticism is necessary in order for businesses to grow and do better. I am all for supporting my people, but if you are going to step into the food industry, you have to be prepared so when opportunities present themselves, you don't have to get ready. I chose this spot because I saw a TikTok video and assumed the food would be amazing. I'm only going to focus on what my son and I ordered. The Brussels sprouts were entirely too sweet, and I had to send them back. The Sinful Deviled Eggs were torched. The Lobster Pot Pie had good flavor, but it also came out burnt. The parmesan bread was overloaded with cheese. My son ordered fries, which he said were just okay, along with plain wings that were undercooked. His mac and cheese came out cold. He usually eats a lot, but he actually lost his appetite at the table. I still tipped our waiter very well because none of this was her fault. Unfortunately, this was not a good Mother's Day pick for us, and it was very disappointing. We will not be returning. The owner really needs to invest in experienced chefs because there is far too much competition out here to be serving food that simply misses the mark. read more

There was a few things that were not quite right, there is no air conditioning and the portable AC unit are not ventilating properly, our water cups were dirty and had food particles we have to get them replaced, the food came cold and not all at once and the person giving out the dishes was just placing the plates everywhere not asking who had what. Just now, a Friday afternoon, I see they are open. Very strange for a business not to post hours when they are open. Would like to see them succeed even though I have not tried their cuisine. We came to Fork and Kitchen tonight really wanting to like it. The menu looked great and the reviews were encouraging, but the experience just didn't match what we expected. We were seated right away, which was nice, especially with a private event going on. After that, nothing happened. No water, no greeting, no server. We watched two tables that arrived after us get water and place their orders while we sat there waiting. We eventually had to ask another server just to get water and to let someone know we hadn't been helped. When our order was finally taken, the wait continued. Drinks and food took about 30 to 40 minutes to show up, and one drink -- the mango margarita -- was extremely sweet. The table behind us never had their order taken at all, which made it clear the service issues weren't just a one‑off. Fork and Kitchen seems like it could be a great spot based on the menu and reviews, but both the front and back of house need serious attention. After tonight, we won't be returning. read more

We made reservations for this place and we were surprised to learn during our visit from our nice server Venicia that they are in the soft-open phase of things; they've only been open since Valentine's Day week and this was their third week open. Now I can get to the other parts of the review! The location: This place is in Rockville Square near Trader Joe's. Parking here is tricky, you MIGHT want to arrive earlier than you think to get a good spot or chance it using Trader Joe's parking (Shhh) The Atmosphere: The vibe here is chic/modern/artsy. It's giving museum meets warehouse with good lighting and open floor plan. I thought for a second I stepped into an upscale ghost kitchen. They are working on the aesthetics of the place. They have circular lighting and plants covering portions of the space. They also have a wall that has different sizes and shapes of vases with lighting on each one. This is where the museum Vibe comes in. They have marble styled tables. They are planning to add more things for the Grand Opening and I can almost assure you it will be a quite popular place once word gets around! Most people don't even know about this place yet :) this is your queue to go ASAP. The Service: Our server Venicia was very nice and helpful. She was prompt, friendly and what we appreciated most; honest! I had asked her opinion on a few items I was considering and she told me the truth. Thank you for that :) The Food: We started off with drinks. My wife got ginger ale and I got cranberry juice while we looked at the menu. We decided on their pancakes; they were crunch on the outside like that of cornbread and fluffy on the inside like a pancake but dense and came topped with what appeared to be a cinnamon butter and bourbon flavored syrup! (Yum) I decided on their creme brulee French toast which came on to nicely sized pieces of bread with Creme Brulee filling in the middle and fruit. It was also plated beautifully with cream drizzle. My wife and I also got a few sides. She got some of the fluffiest eggs I've tasted in a long time with cheese and some well-seasoned potatoes. I opted for bacon and we shared the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was good but could use a bit of salt and pepper but that's an easy fix. That was the only thing that we felt could use some improvement but otherwise 4.5 outta 5 stars - SupaFlyITGuy approved! I got catfished by their AI generated images of various dishes they make. OMG this is filter accidentally turned off med stream bad! Here's a deal. I went there for dinner tonight entered and there's no check-in desk, just open concrete floors, white chairs, white tables, white walls. There were probably two other people inside this place beside the staff. Music is loud R&B. Forget about having conversations. Honestly the music ruined a lot what this restaurant could have been. But here's the real problem, the food quality is poor. Steak is hard poor quality probably not USDA graded. The fish, dry, thin, looked nothing like a sea bass. Sadly, I was looking forward to a newer breakfast/brunch/dinner type place in the town center. I wish I could share what they did well. Unfortunately, I had high hopes for this spot. However, we got there on time per our brunch reservation, but we still had to wait 15 min to be seated. When we finally got seated we ordered right away, but the drinks never showed up. We didn't get silverware. We waited an additional 1 hr and 30 min and the food still did not arrive. When we got up to leave we have already been there for 2 hours the food started to arrive but it was all over the place and were missing tons of food items and what showed up was very cold. What a great place to go to on a Wednesday night. The restaurant itself is lovely and modern. The Happy Hour specials cut the cost of the wine, beer and appetizers in half. The lamb meatballs and deviled eggs were excellent. And it's delicious. The food here wa sreally good. It's all comfort food dishes. I had the braised short ribs, which were juicy and delicious. We also shared the parmesean bread, which was more like mozzarella sticks but way better. The red sangria was good as well. Terrible service for large parties, food portion is unacceptable, the taste and texture of food ewww, because some of it came out burnt and over seasoned, and management/ owner is disrespectful. We had a large party where reservation were made in advance, upon arriving members of our party had no where to sit, menus were not given out, we had to ask for them, once our food was ordered, double orders of what people ordered was coming out, dishes came out that wasn't ordered, some people didn't get there food and had to ask where there food was. The owner was working and never came over to apologize, check on service or nothing! We had a party of 21 people and some of the people had to sit at the bar. After about an 1.5 the owner comes over and says y'all have to leave you been here long enough. Never once apologizing for the mishap of the reservation that were made in advance, the time it took for us to get the food, the taste of what little food that you got and poor service we received. I would rate this place a 2 of 5 .. just because the ambiance is nice along with the serving dishes, but the food and service is bottom tier. This was the most amazing experience that I've had. it all started with greetings at the door. The hostess was kind and welcoming and there wasn't a wait time at all. The aesthetic of the restaurant is very modern and clean. They play good music in the background so it's perfect if you're having a birthday party or just want to catch up with some friends. The music is not too loud so you can definitely hear yourself speak. The food is 10/10! The sinful eggs are mouth watering, the French toast is fluffy and good. I met up at four in kitchen with a friend. We ordered off the lunch menu. I had a fish sandwich, which was surprisingly good. The cod tasted moist, it wasn't fishy. The fries were great. Apparently this used to be an old paint store that got converted into a restaurant. It's modern industrial design, which these days feels warm and welcoming. I went for my birthday brunch with my s/o and had a GREAT time! We were greeted immediately when we walked in and seated without a reservation (on a late Saturday). The appetizers and main dishes were absolutely delicious, my partner and I shared both of our meals and could not get it enough -- we left full and happy. The steak was grilled perfectly, french toast fluffy and decadent, and the deviled eggs were phenomenal. The ambience was very calm, clean, and reminded me of a nice DC brunch spot. There Seafood Grits , our waitress was a wonderful young lady service with a smile. Being from Baltimore it's worth the drive to Rockville.

The place looks great inside. It's very modern and open. I ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict and sinful eggs. The sinful eggs weren't bad. The little bit of taste they had wasn't bad. The crab cakes, however were so salty, I honestly checked to see if there was a salty lick underneath the egg (which was overcooked and cooked all the way through). I ended up just eating the potatoes. It seems most of the people came there to drink (A LOT). The 1.5 hour bottomless margarita tower was ridiculously large and popular, even at 11:30 am on a Saturday. I can only guess that's the reason for the restaurant's popularity. It certainly isn't the taste of the food. The service was...adequate. Refills on coffee and water were harder to come by than they should have been, but then, I think I would have gotten more attention if I had ordered alcohol. I saw all of these great reviews on Instagram, so my experience was truly a surprise. Anyway, lesson learned. Don't believe everything you see on social media. read more

We went to try the place and I wanted to like it. Service was good! Ambience was nice, but the food was not so good, the wings came out in a pool of oil and soaked the wings in an unpleasant way and the fries were cold in the center which made me think they weren't fried long enough and we were one of three parties in the entire place. Drinks were decent, but happy hour is only at the bar and kids are not allowed at the bar so not exactly family friendly. Also service charge (18%) is automatically added to all bills regardless of party size which I found new- very similar to Miami. I would have given the same tip honestly but when I asked the server she said it was for the restaurant so I ended up adding another 5% for her- which was the middle option (3,5,or 7%) for gratuity. My husband and I visited for dinner this evening. There is a multitude of things that were terrible and we would never return. Allow me to list the ways: 1. Service was SO slow. For everything. Drinks. Food. Assistance. Anything. 2. The short ribs were dry. My husband's lobster pot pie was dry. Everything is mid and dry/overcooked 3. We ordered rolls to start. They never came. We asked to take them off the check. The waitress did so, but said the kitchen was just slow and they would come at some point. We already had our entrees at this point and they were to be appetizer. 4. My husband got an old fashioned which wasn't on the menu, and it was terrible, so that's prob why it wasn't 5. My napkin was dirty, like black stains upon opening. I told the waitress. The response: no it's not but for your mental I will change it. -- all while doing the finger in a loop against her head signifying i was crazy. Excuse me? My mental? Have you lost your mind? The napkin is stained. A customer shouldn't have to eat with gross cutlery and napkins. 6. So walking in not sure where to go but randomly a gentlemen is sitting us. I was very interested in trying the wings but once you're chewing into them you notice how raw they which I prefer my wings cooked not medium rare. Then the food comes and instead of getting the plate their giving me the entire food tray with the plate on it as it this is McDonald's. And no one checked on us how things are which you would think if half of the wings are still on the plate you'd wonder how I'm doing instead of being on the phone at the bar. Then you order a thebroasted hen which is the driest thing on earth. And don't bother for coffee in the evening or even an iced tea. Seems like there's a lack of everything here including experienced staff. Plus there 18% gratuity on the check which hasn't even been communicated besides the fine print on the bottom of the menu. I don't agree paying any gratuity on a place that doesn't even deliver on a welcoming experience. Place seems like they just want our money instead of being accountable. The restaurant is still in its soft opening phase, but even still I am impressed. We were greeted as soon as we got in the door and seated shortly thereafter. They selected fir us a nice table at the end of the row and facing a large window that looked out on Gibbs Street. The chairs were very comfortable. Service was friendly, accurate and nicely attentive without being pushy. We took a bit of time looking over the menu but then selected the Farmer's Salad with Salmon, and Fish and Chips. The server asked me how I wanted the salmon. It came out exactly as requested - nicely crusted on the outside, and well done, though still juicy, on the inside. The rest of the salad's ingredients - a variety of spring lettuces and spinach, blueberries, avocado, cucumber, and delightful blue cheese crumbles, were all fresh and delicious. I really appreciated the subtle, though yummy, dressing. When all mixed altogether, it was scrumptious. And there was plenty of it. My fellow diner enjoyed his fish and chips very much, noting especially the tasty light breading, accenting, rather than overpowering, the ample portion of fish. The ambiance at this point is OK in my mind, with lots of potential. The room is bright and airy, painted a nice clean white, accented at this point with gleaming marble-look tables and those comfy chairs. The background music was excellent. Some familiar favorites loud enough to enjoy without being intrusive. I'll return regardless, but my guess is that there is more work to be done on the interior, especially to mitigate the sounds that might otherwise overwhelm the space.
