Came here on a Sunday and ordered pepperoni pizza at the counter. We did a little shopping at the Safeway while it cooked. The staff was very friendly and interestingly skipped the tipping option when checking us out. Pizza was ready when promised and wow it was delicious. The crust was medium thin that was soft on the inside but crispier on the outside. Sauce was mellow with a little zing and had quite a bit slathered on which we loved. The pizza lacked the pools of oil and grease that other pizzas have, so no paper towel dabbing required. The place was clean with a few seats but you can tell it's more of a take away kind of place. I thought it was strange to handle money with dirty gloves but I was like whatever as long as he tosses them and puts on a new pair before he goes back and starts making the pizza. The calzone I ordered was excellent. The only thing is that it was large and expensive. I work at the Safeway nearby and could only eat half of the calzone on my break, and then I didn't really have a good place to keep the leftovers while I finished my shift. Even their "small" 10-inch pizza is probably too big for a quick lunch. They could probably get a LOT more customers if they started selling by the slice, since lots of people work in that shopping center and there aren't too many easy lunch options nearby. First off the manager was a really cool dude, introduced himself to me was curious why I chose this place to eat pizza, super kind and friendly I can see that they care about what customers think of their pizza so that's a plus....well the pizza was very good! Half Margharitta Pizza half Formaggio Combo both delicious! The crust super thin pizza, the pizza sauce different than I've had very tasty! I have been hearing great things about Formaggio Pizza Express located across from Target in the El Dorado Hills Town Center. As well as reading some awesome Yelp reviews including two from fellow Yelp friends Joe Y. and Lillian W. (Both of them can be pretty picky about his/her food:). So I finally had to try it for myself. And, wow, I am sure glad I did! Because i was in the area, I popped in about 3 p.m., last week. Decided to order in person for pick up later that evening and to check things out. Steve was manning the counter. I soon discovered he is the owner too. Nice guy! He was more than happy to share some details about the business. He has been open for a about a year and hires a lot of family members to maintain overall high standards. And his standards include using the highest quality ingredients possible. His delivery range is approximately 4 to 5 miles but if someone is really insistent he may stretch it to 6 or 7 miles. I love how passionate he is about his restaurant! I ordered a 14-inch vegetarian doing half one type of veg and half the other! Not your typical veg either! Unique toppings for sure. Menu board photos included so you may read the pizza offerings and other food/beverage choices. I wanted a 5:15 p.m. pick up and that was not a problem! It was also nice to receive a text when my pizza was ready. Cool! (Btw: Online and phone ordering available.) Bottom line: GREAT pizza! Fresh, hot, perfect crust and a generous amount of toppings! I've ordered here for delivery a couple of times now, and I've been happy with their service. By far, my favorite item I've gotten from them is their margherita pizza! I love the whole slices of thin tomato, and they top it with dried Italian herbs, it's so yummy! The ranch here seems to be made in-house, I'm a fan of it. I always order a cheese pizza when I order here, and the cheesy breadsticks, both of which I find to be pretty standard. I actually find the breadsticks to be on the plain, drier side but they're a big hit for the kids in the household. If you're a fan of margherita pizzas, definitely try Formaggio's take on it! This pizza pick up joint has some pretty good tasting pizzas at decent prices. We ordered a 12 inch pepperoni and sausage pizza $15.49. The pizza sauce has some zing to it. I luved that but it caused a bit of heartburn for hubs. Ooops... then again he's no spring chicken. The sausage and pepperoni on the other hand was not spicy but still yummy. Flavorful. Let me start off with the cleanliness of the place, I came around 8:30ish last night, and it smelled super welcoming, (probably just the mop) but it's a add on, I had came with my husband and two children, I was helped by the new manager (Shawn) there, super welcoming and friendly and after we finally decided on what to order, we were given the order in less than 15 minutes.
