    House focaccia bread
    Jessica W.

Had reservations for 7pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant was filled inside and outside with a few 2 tops open inside. Dark ambiance, mostly all servers were smiling and seemed happy to be there. We were seated by a friendly hostess and our server greeted us by informing us about alcohol first thing. He came back with water and asked about alcohol again, we ordered appetizers first. He came back and asked about alcohol again and we said we were not going to be drinking and ordered our entrees. He seemed to be the type of server that gave more attention to you if you ordered alcohol, which I why we saw with all the other tables around us. Meatballs for appetizer- 4 count with the most delicious tomato sauce and ricotta layered under it. The meatballs were so tender (pork and beef) the flavor was on point. We wiped the dish clean of the sauce. It is undeniably the best meatballs and sauce I've ever had at any restaurant. I usually don't like meatballs and the marinara sauce anywhere because the meatballs usually lack flavor and the marinara is too tart. The ricotta cheese pair very well with the marinara sauce. Whole branzino over mashed potatoes- spectacular dish. Head and tail on of it doesn't bother you. The dish is so buttery and flaky with the crispy skin. Skin was so flavorful with a hint of lemon juice over it. It was hard to find all the fish meat because it blended in with the mashed potatoes in the dark ambiance. Rigatoni alla Vodka with added Italian sausage- amazing dish. It was probably one sausage total. Ricotta on top was also a nice touch. House made focaccia bread, so soft and fluffy. I would definitely come back to try other dishes.

I really enjoy supporting local restaurants, especially when they've been recommended to me, are literally in my area/backyard so to speak, etc. El Dorado Hills has a lot of restaurants, so there's a great opportunity to try new to me places. I'm always in search of the best of the best, and of the many cuisines I enjoy Italian certainly is at the top of my list. So when Vacanza was recommended, of course I'm going to try it! Friday night, 6:30 PM, and the place was empty. There literally were two tables with customers and that was it. The seating hostess asked us if we had reservations, and I didn't know if she was on auto pilot, or what, but it just seemed odd considering that 95% or more of the restaurant was literally empty. When she saw the look on our faces before we could respond she said oh don't worry I can find a table for you. OK then. It was a little offputting and definitely not welcoming. Once we were seated, we were offered water and everything was weird after that. We were trying to decide on our entrées, and the waitress came over to ask if we wanted to place a drink order and what appetizer did we want? We decided to go ahead and order an appetizer while we were deciding on entrées, but quite frankly in retrospect, it felt like a push for us to really order something because of how dead the restaurant was, which ultimately feels like a push for money, because once we ordered an appetizer, then the waitress said oh by the way, I can bring you some complementary focaccia bread if you would like. If it's complementary, why ask why not present that first and then allow us to take our time trying to figure out what we would like to eat?? The focaccia bread came out and it was this huge brick sized piece of bread. I don't know how many different ways to say horrible, but this definitely was inedible. It was hard, and frankly, it's almost indescribable as to what it tasted like. They presented a small plate with olive oil and balsamic which quite frankly, if we had decided to eat the bread, it absolutely would not have been enough. Yes I realize we can ask for more. At least I believe we could have. The appetizer that we ordered were the stuffed squash blossoms. These are my absolute favorite, and I had asked the waitress if they were in season because they're usually in season for a really short period of time, and she's made the comment that they're always on the menu. Which I sort of brushed off and I should not have. When someone from the kitchen brought the plate to the table, the comment was made about "make sure you enjoy some of the sauce at the bottom of the plate "first off, whatever that white sauce was supposed to be there wasn't very much and definitely not enough for the small expensive serving. The squash blossoms just like the focaccia, or absolutely horrible. Traditionally, stuffed squash blossoms are usually filled with ricotta cheese that has been seasoned, the squash blossom is filled, and they are quickly lightly fried. They are usually incredibly delicious. These were incredibly horrible. Yes I'm saying it again, because I don't know what in the hell was used, but it tasted like oyster sauce and there was nothing creamy or cheesy about any of it. When we were trying to decide what to do because we haven't ordered our entrées yet, and the waitress literally had been over three or four times in between all of this to ask us for our order, the taste in the smell of the food literally was making me ill. I took one for the team, and I said that we needed to leave and that we needed to pay the bill. (30.00 appetizer) The funny thing is, she didn't seem shocked by this How this place stays in business, I don't know.

I noticed this was a new restaurant option on the Resy app to be able to use my Amex Resy credit! I ended up making a reservation for 2 for a Friday night at 6:15pm. We ended up wanting to go sooner since we were hungry and got there around when it opened at 4:30pm for dinner. The restaurant is located in a nice little plaza in EDH right by the theaters. It's tucked all the way in the corner by the stairs to the theater and right next to Mimosa House. The restaurant has both inside and outside dining options but we chose to stay inside. The interior was extremely well decorated and aesthetic. Definitely had a nice European feel to it! We were sat at a table for 2 which was a bit small in my opinion but luckily they had an additional side table to use which I thought was convenient! Definitely smart to have that additional side table so they planned that well! The menu has a good variety from apps to main dishes. We ended up ordering the Casio e Pepe Suppli and Bruschetta for our appetizers. Then for our main dishes, my husband got the Rigatoni Carbonara and I got the Bucatini Cacio e Pepe. We also got the Margherita Pizza to share but ended up only eating 1 slice each since the pasta dishes we got were very filling and delicious! For drinks, my husband got red wine and I got the Peach Bellini. The Peach Bellini wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be so I ended up giving it to my husband and I ordered a Lemon Italian Soda instead. My husband really liked his Rigatoni Carbonara and the little bacon bits in it made it so much better. I also really enjoyed my Bucatini Cacio e Pepe and really liked the way they cooked the pasta for it. Regarding the appetizers, the Bruschetta was my favorite and I thought it was an interesting bruschetta compared to other places that serve it. On top of all the food we ordered, we were also provided with a complimentary Focacia bread with olive oil on the house which was so satisfying that I had to order another one. The Focacia bread was so soft that the bread felt like a cake and dipping it in the olive oil/balsamic was so addicting. Such a good pairing! Overall, I'm glad to see a new restaurant on the Resy app to use my Amex Resy Credit and I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu!

We were here for the first time and definitely it won't be the last time. Everything was so delicious, feels like we were in Italy. Stuff was very gentle and the service was very good! Highly recommend.

Dolce Stephanie. Great portion but flavor profile a bit flat.

Came here to celebrate a birthday on a weekday. Made a reservation. The place wasn't packed, but it was nice to see a few other tables. Here's the breakdown: Service - 10/10 I wish I remembered her name, but she was on point. Very attentive, checked in often, and really made our first visit stand out. Food Calamari - 4/10 Lightly battered and seasoned well with a good portion, but it came out lukewarm. Felt like it had been sitting. The batter fell apart when dipping into the pesto sauce, which made it hard to enjoy. Giacomo Pizza - 8/10 Fresh and solid. Dough was chewy the way I like it, toppings were spot on, and the peaches with balsamic worked really well together. Unique flavor combo I haven't had before. Would order again. Farmer Ravioli - 7/10 I like that everything's made in-house. Flavorful, packed with meat, and the portion was just enough. I was already full from the pizza, but the six pieces were perfect. Didn't get much of the pesto flavor under it though. Dolce Stephanie - 6/10 Fresh but very doughy. As it cooled, the way it was wrapped made it harder to eat. Portion was fine but the flavor didn't really pop. Grilled Pork Chop - 5/10 Good portion and the glaze had nice flavor, but the chop itself was dry. No juiciness like you'd expect. Wouldn't order again. The starter bread with olive oil and balsamic was a nice touch. It was pricey. Including 3 cocktails, our bill was $200. If I were to come back, it'll be for the pizza and maybe try another pasta, but I'd skip the pork chop.

    Chicken Parmigiana

This place exceeded my expectations! The Chicken Parmigiana was amazing, the chicken and noodles were cooked to perfection! 10/10! The ambience was breathtaking. Very beautiful, elegant and calming environment to say the least! The best part of the whole night was our waitress Taylor. It was my partner and I's anniversary and she made our night very special. She was very welcoming, kind, attentive and provided exceptional customer service! Everything was so amazing, we definitely will be coming back!

    Diavola pizza was delicious

We sat outside in the patio last night and had a great time.I believe most Saturday evenings there is live music. The guy playing guitar and singing was very good! We had salads, the pear/fruit and arugula. It was delicious.I had a glass of Frank Family Chardonnay & husband had Auburn Ale Pilsner,it was very good. Our dinners were margarita & the spicy meat pizzas. It was all delicious. My mom would have preferred a ricotta non-meat ravioli dish but still enjoyed her pizza. Fantastic waitress too. We'll definitely come back.

Have been here a few times over the last year and have to give it 3 stars. I kept hoping for a better experience overall, but just couldn't get one. Service has been totally average on each visit, with all having delays upon arrival to even get water and a drink order started. Long waits during slow and busy times for food. Have gotten a different dish each time and none have been truly epic to report on, really just average flavors between pastas, sauces and meats. The Tiramisu was good and worth a repeat order on most visits. Love the outdoor space!! Definitely the right choice when the weather cooperates!

We absolutely love Vacanza Romana! We had the carbonara and the chicken parmigiana, both were amazing, and great portions for the price. The bread is to die for... seriously, I could come here just for that alone. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and you can really tell they put care into everything they make. The wine is veryyyy well priced! We love this place it's such a hidden gem! Definitely support them if you love authentic, delicious Italian food.

2024-2025 I've come by 3 times now and have mixed feelings. The Vacanza and Mimosa House are under the same owner and share the space. Our first time here was for a 3 ladies - GNO and it was peach season. I remembered it was a great dinner. We came back a month later and it was a good dinner for 4 adults. We ordered similar items as our first but it wasn't as good this second time around. Peach was towards end of season and it wasn't consistent to our experience just a couple of weeks before. We sat on the Vacanza side our first two times. 2/7/25 - sat on Mimosa side. Ambiance is not as nice or loud but we did have 1/2 the restaurant to ourselves this time. We saw that they updated their seasonal menu so we're excited to come back. We came back again for GNO with 6 ladies and it looks like it's fig season or so we thought. We received nothing with figs despite ordering 2 fig dishes. Starters: We ordered to start the $18 fig bruschetta - described as grilled rustic ciabatta, sacramento honey bruleed figs, cypress grove humbolt fog goat cheese, ricotta, balsamic crema, olive oil and thyme. It was 3 pieces and was mushy and not great. The grilled ciabatta was not crispy so it was a lot of wet goat cheese on soft bread. We also did not get fig but got slices of pear on it instead. We also ordered to share the pig and fig pizza, described as honey roasted figs, arugula salad, twenty four month aged prosciutto di parma, cypress grove humbolt fog goat cheese, balsamic crema - this was very doughy. This was also topped with pear and not fig. I think they were out of fig for the day or something. Fried Mozarella $16 (we've had this all 3 times) - it's the one we all agree is consistent and tasty. Described as fior de latte, parmiginao reggiano, chives and spicy pomodoro sauce. Brussel Sprouts $16 - get this. It was delish! Described as pork jowl fat fried brussels, castelbelbo fonduta, and parmigiano. For my entree, I chose lasagna $27 Described as beef and pork ragu, short rib, bechamel, tomato, pecorino sugo, basil oil, parmigiano and chives. I was surprised on what came out. It was ok, nothing to brag about. 2 of our friends ordered the Pappardelle Al Ragu $27 Described as pork belly and short rib ragu, tomato sauce, castelbelbo fonduta, basil and parmigiano. I recall it was a table favorite on one of the prior dinners but today 2 ladies ordered it and neither finished and didn't take to go. 2 other friends ordered the bucatini and meatballs $26 Described as tomato sauce, parmigiano, whipped ricotta and basil. We asked for a chocolate martini and they don't have it on the menu - they have an espresso but the server kindly asked the bar and they were able to accommodate us and made 4 for dessert. I ordered a cocktail and swapped out gin for vodka so they can make adjustments if you ask which is appreciated. For the over all price to portions, this is definitely on the pricier side. Betting a good portion of our bill were cocktails. I'm not sure if we'd come back anytime soon with the way how things turned out this time around. We'll have to wait and see.

When we first walked in, we were impressed. Cute little conversation nooks with comfy furniture in little corners, a decent wine and beer list, and some appetizers. The menu says all beers are $5 on Thursday all day. We figured it was perfect for what we needed. We settled into a corner that was near the salon, as there was no other seating inside. Did I mention the comfortable furniture? Well, it's a good thing it was comfortable. We sat for nearly an hour, waiting to have our order taken. The first two of us to arrive we're given some water to drink, but myself, and the other straggler were never offered water. During this time we got to experience the...ahem... aroma of the salon next-door. Peroxide and other hair products don't usually lead to an appetite. We decided to wait it out. And wait we did. After nearly an hour, the one employee who appeared to be working today, came to take our order. My friend ordered a glass of wine and she told him that they were out of that one, so he chose another option. I then ordered a beer, and she started to leave the table. Somehow she hadn't seen that there were 4 of us? Friend who had been ignored quickly said , 'and I'LL HAVE ..." to get the server's attention, and then ordered a glass of wine, while our final friend ordered a beer. There was a buffalo cauliflower appetizer on the menu, and we ordered it for the table. The server arrived after a few minutes with one glass of wine, which she sat in front of me, and a beer which she placed in front of my friend. We assumed that she had just mixed up the two of us, so we traded, and I took a sip of my beer. She then came back with another glass of wine. She started to leave and told us to let her know if there was anything else we needed, so we reminded her that we had another beer and an appetizer coming. This is when she told me that the beer that I had ordered was one that they were out of. I held up the one in my hand and said oh, is this not mine? Since we had already waited an hour, my friend just took the beer that I had sipped from, and I waited while she went to get me my new order. When we were nearly done with our drinks, our appetizer finally arrived. It was all we could do to keep from laughing out loud. That was the smallest possible plate with the smallest possible amount of cauliflower on it. A handful, but not an adult handful. Well, maybe Bernadette from Big Bang Theory, but not an average sized adult hand. For four people. You would think she would have told us that it was small and we might want more than one for the table. Honestly, I would've wanted more than one for just myself. To their credit, the cauliflower did taste good. Good thing the salon smells had ruined our appetite. We waited again and finally got our check. They had charged us for one glass of wine, the overpriced $12 handful of cauliflower, and two beers. However, the advertised five dollar happy hour price for the beer was not reflected on the check. She had charged us seven dollars each for the beers. We called this to her attention when we went to the counter to pay, as well as the fact that she had not charged us for one of our glasses of wine. She said "oh yeah. I did that to make up for the beer. We're not doing that anymore. We don't have happy hour on Thursday anymore." It seemed to have escaped her that you can't list something on the menu at a certain price and then charge a different price. Overall, they get one star for comfy couches. We won't be back.

Be kind to your servers, remember these are your friends, neighbors, and the kids of your neighbors. They take care of this community and elevate our taste buds. This restaurant would not have the feelings it does when you walk in the door if the tenured staff were not around all these years to make sure you and your friends are taken care of and served with a smile on their face. Those skills don't come easily. I want to give Alexa and Nick a huge thank you for investing in this community, and everyone you come in contact with.

The blackberry pork chop was a highlight! It was juicy, flavorful, and gone in a blink! The Cajun scallops (seasonal) were good, served over a nicely spiced Cajun sauce, though the portion leans on the lighter side with three scallops. We wrapped up with a lemon dessert that added a bright, refreshing note to finish the meal. We sat outside which made for a relaxing setting.

Steak was made well done though when we asked medium well .. the potatoes were soft and yummy. The fish & rice was great! A fried ball of flavored rice topped with a thick cut of seared tuna with some I believe unagi and spicy mayo sauce.. it went well together! I loved it! My main dish was the braised short ribs .. it was so tender you did not need to cut it with a knife! 2 thumbs up! My friend's main dish was the seasonal pasta add shrimp... I didn't try it but it looked delicious Our server was great! He was attentive and made sure to come by to refill and ask if we needed anything ever so often. They have amazing wine here and they do have your bites like appetizers but that is served from Scott's Seafood roundhouse which they do bring it upstairs to you when you order it. . I really like their mushroom pate which was really yummy. Also it comes with some grilled bread and you can do a yummy spread on it. . We also got there dozen of oysters which was really refreshing and comes with some Mingonete. . We also got an order of their calamari which was a generous portion and deep fried crispy to Perfection and seasoned well with a really nice dip too. . We got to try out their sparkling bubble and their Pinot red flight. Everything was really tasty and I highly recommend it if you are looking to taste good wine here and do food pairing too. . The inside Ambiance is very cozy and I love the fire pit and they even have a outdoor balcony with the view of the historic Folsom District. The service was very friendly and warm and welcoming. Chantel is the one to go to and she was our server. Hope this review helps and thanks for reading and have a yelpastic day.

I heard about Williamette from a friend and a group of use decided to try the wines and ordered appetizers from Scott's. The wine and food pair wonderfully together. This is delicious Oregon wine. Who knew Oregon had such a fantastic wine? It's definitely up there and not to be slept on for sure. I ordered the Owner's flight which were Pinot Noir's they were amazing . We got 2 bottle of Blossom one was a Rose which I highly recommend and the other I can't remember, but it was so refreshing. The tasting room is beautiful and spacious. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well. Chantel and Jen were amazing very friendly and accommodating. They are the best!! Before I left I did end up purchasing a bottle of Late harvest Riesling and bottle of sparkling Muscat. If you never been you have got to check them out. It's a great experience for sure. :)

Whether you're celebrating with your spouse, introducing your side piece to "your favorite restaurant," or escaping the responsibilities waiting back at home, this place delivers. Perfect for the guy who suddenly "works late" every night despite having a newborn, and the woman who's somehow convinced herself that personal entertainment outranks being there for her kids. Nothing says romance quite like two people united by spectacularly bad life choices. The staff deserves an award. They somehow keep a straight face while serving appetizers to people whose alibis have more ingredients than the menu. The atmosphere is so relaxing you'll almost forget your phone is one notification away from turning dinner into a public hearing.

He told us their specialty was the prime rib. He further explained that the beef was local and farm feed and the vegetables were fresh. We were seated immediately and our server was Alexandra. She was an excellent server, personable, timely and not too overly available but there for whatever we wanted. I ordered the braised short ribs and my guest had the prime rib. We started off with the calamari and salad for an appetizer. Everything was delicious. The portions were generous. The braised beef melted in your mouth and my guest said the prime rib was amazing. The restaurant was decorated nicely with a wine theme, symbolic of the Roman GOD Bacchus. The establishment is bigger than it looks, it has various back rooms. Smooth jazzed played softly in the background which enhanced the dining experience. Overall an excellent dinner and I will be returning.
