Came here for the first time with my friend the other week. It was one of the only boba places open late on a Sunday night. It's located in this sort of deserted parking lot next to a Target. There was a ton of parking available. This place was not busy at all on a Sunday night around 10pm. There was only one other table of people besides us. This boba place is pretty run down and could use a major facelift. I decided to try one of the new items on the menu - the sea salt earl grey tea. It was actually not terrible. I wish the earl grey flavor was a little stronger, but overall it was decent. We got the popcorn chicken, and I got cheese fries. The popcorn chicken was ok. I thought it was a bit bland and underseasoned compared to what I've had at other boba places, but it did have a nice crunch to it. I had it with ranch as a dipping sauce. The cheese fries were pretty bad. They tasted like the frozen ones you pick up at the grocery store, and the cheese was unappetizing. I didn't finish them. You need a key to use the restroom, and when I used it, it was pretty gross. There's graffiti everywhere, including on the toilet! So gross. Overall, probably won't be back here. Kind of a ghetto boba place if you ask me. read more

I ordered a milk tea with boba. It's pretty much a "safe" drink. However, the boba was hard. It felt old. Boba should not be stale tasting or difficult to chew. It should be chewy but not hard in the center. I would skip this place if you're looking for a good milk tea with boba. read more

No longer will you won't have to deal with long lines and the crowd at Anaheim packing district for snow monster lol I tried their rose green milk tea and was impressed. You can see the rose in the milk tea! If you want rude service and a sugar endused coma this the place for sure. If you want good service and flavorful teas spend the $6 a gallon on gas and find some where better. I would rather burn $18s than spend any more money here. When I arrived they were dead and not a single welcome, I'm not asking for a parade but acknowledge that I'm there. The worker was wearing headphones and looked like he wanted to unalive himself. The teas were made quickly but honestly WACK. My tea was overly sweet and my taro milk tea tasted like cereal milk. I think I got diabetes just with one sip. As you walk in you're greeted with a annoying bell at the door, and you continue to hear it as you're there, no wonder the workers look miserable if I had to hear the bell everyday I would hate it too. Honestly tea WACK!!! Workers WACK!!!! Door bell WACK!!! The biggest mistake here was choosing this awful place instead of drinking water!! Always choose water people!! This is a cool little drink spot that has board games to play. They include most of the classic games like chess, checkers, jenga, battleship, and several more. However, the games are in pretty beat condition due to everyone using them. Also, a lot of pieces are missing from the chess/checkers. My girlfriend and I had to substitute random pieces for chess pieces lol. The drinks taste like anything you would get at any other tea shop, but I think they have some of their own special blends. Cute shop with a variety of drinks and snacks to choose from. I like their avocado smoothie with soft, warm boba at the bottom. What I love about their menu is their popcorn chicken which is about $5 that feeds about 4 people! It's huge and super delicious. The only downside about this shop is that the bathrooms are pretty dirty. Maybe they should only have restrooms available to customers only. I came here and tried the almond milk tea with boba and pudding. The almond milk tea itself was pretty darn good. The boba was just okay, though, and the pudding was terrible! The texture of the pudding was just grainy and gross. Not a fan. I'd definitely come back and get just the milk tea! My boyfriend tried the passion fruit green tea with aloe and boba. It was good, but tasted a little watered down, probably because we ordered it less sweet. I like that they have games so that you can come here and just hang out. It was on the later end of the evening so we opted for this location that seemed to be open an hour later than everyone else. Humble digs.. very mom and pop.. and in need of a face lift. The random high school kid working the counter with his brother seemed nice enough... but man the drinks were SWEET. Perhaps it would be a good idea to ask for half sweet. I had the peach smoothie which was just the standard Asian white peach flavor blended. GF got the rose milk tea which she said was definitely on the sweeter end as well. Prices were definitely on the lower end which makes this place attractive. Can't say I would drive out of my way to come here though. In the market where boba/ tea joints are a dime a dozen.. there really wasn't an outstanding feature minus the price. Second time visit to this place. There's not a whole lot of boba place around this area. It's a little deceiving of the name Formosa as it communicates a sense of originality from which the tapioca drink derived from the island country of Taiwan. It's a little disappointing that the tapioca pearls are not really good. It's a bit hard to chew on. The boba, when fresh, tends to be real tender and "Q" at the same time. The milk tea itself is standard. A little on the too sweet side. Price is fair. You can definitely do better if you crave good boba. But if you are in the area and does not wish to drive further, no one will fault you for settling. read more

Everyone was pleased with their choice: 2 taro smoothies, a mango slush, and strawberry banana smoothie. Boba was excellent! Great prices and friendly staff. Fun fact: Formosa is the former name of Taiwan. What that tells you about this place, I don't know. The location seems a bit out of place to me, so this place ain't poppin' at night. It might've been because it was 45 minutes before closing, but it's also new to the boba scene. There's nothing too special about the place: bare walls, some board games, and 2 arcade games hidden in the hallway towards the back. The drinks here are great, can't complain about that. I do, however, wish that their menu was much more extensive. They got the basic flavors down, but you could get anything off the menu at some other boba shop nearby. What I will complain about is the fact that they didn't have anything when I came through. Can I get a caramel milk tea? NOPE. Okay, what do you recommend? Tiger milk tea. Alright, can I get that with boba? NOPE, out of boba. FORREAL?! Tea Time don't end 'til 11, how you gonna run out of boba before closing? I get that it's near the end of the day, but that's no excuse to be understocked of the one thing people come for. The guy did suggest getting crystal jelly instead, which I was reluctant at first, but turned out to go well with the tiger milk tea. My friend also tried to order a custom drink with honey, but they ran outta that too. So yeah, don't come before closing because they finna be out of everything. My boyfriend was craving popcorn chicken and some of his friends hit him up to get some boba. He suggested Formosa after hearing really great things about their popcorn chicken. We ordered a popcorn chicken very spicy and a green tea yogurt 25% sweet. The popcorn chicken came with a very generous portion for $4.25. To our surprise, very spicy was actually VERY SPICY. My bf said he didn't want any of the green tea yogurt, but ended up drinking at least half to try and calm down the burning. He has a very high spicy tolerance. The popcorn chicken came with big pieces and was seasoned well. We will probably go with medium or just spicy the next time we come. The green tea yogurt was good. I was afraid that it would still be too sweet, but it was actually very lightly sweet. Many places I've ordered the green tea yogurt 25% or 50% sweet still make it very sweet. I would probably go for 50% sweet next time I'm here. The flavoring of the yogurt green tea was really good. He seemed annoyed or over working right from the beginning When we walked in the door was opened so after we ordered the wind closed the door, so I asked my nephew to open it for them (Since it was open when we got there we assumed they had it opened) right after my nephew opens it the young man tells him "we have the ac on close the door" not please or in a friendly tone either, so I told the young man we only opened it again because it was open when we got there. he ignored me and continued to make drinks I ordered 1 smoothie with it being buy 1 get 1 FREE I got a small smoothie but both drinks came out as SLUSHIES, so I let the older man that took my order know the drinks were supposed to be SMOOTHIES, as he's checking the receipt the young man in the back looked real upset and says ILL REMAKE THEM as he SLAMS the containers to make the drinks on the counter... so at that point I tell the older man since it's a problem for the young man and he's so upset I'll just take my money back instead, he then very nicely apologized and gave me my money back, I just don't see why the young man was so upset and unprofessional I didnt make the drink wrong HE DID. I nicely handed the wrong drinks back because I never touched them and left. Really great place. It was easy to find.d and order. Didn't wait more than 5 minutes before the drinks came out and we had ordered behind 4 people. It was our first time so we didn't ask for any special modifications to the drinks. However, if you like less sweet they do accommodate sweetness and ice. I cannot tell you how many times I've been to Formosa because I go there WAY too often. Its right next to my boyfriends house so we always drop by when we need a boba fix. He got me into the Taro so now that's all we get and it tastes AMAZING. I usually get the taro milk tea and he usually gets the slushie, but theyre both great! I love that you can let them know if you want 25%, 50 % 75% or 100% sugar! When im feeling daring ill go with the 75% :P but I usually do 50% and its just perfect :) It's pretty decent prices, and they have food I just haven't gotten any but next time I should! The actual spot is pretty cute and not that big. It has arcade games and the service is quick. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the last time we went they said they had run out of boba.. on a Saturday,midday? Still love them though. Definitely check it out! I was craving an avocado drink last night and stumbled upon this place because it was in the area. I ordered the avocado milkshake, and the texture was more of an icy slush than an actual milkshake.. Which was a downfall for me because it made the drink kind of tasteless (it was hard to actually taste the avocado or anything but icy milk for that matter). Other drinks on the menu looked good though, so I might come back to try those instead! The place itself has a cute interior with games, like many boba shops, to keep you occupied. When I started working in the area, I wanted to find a "go to" tea place that was affordable and tasty at the same time. And Formosa tea time hits the spot. I have never found a place that I've consistently revisited again and again for such a long period of time. Although I've had better tea places in my area, this one is a pretty good. They have a wonderful variety of flavors and types of drinks. Plus their pricing is within my range for what I'm willing to pay. A nice perk is that they allow you to have less or more ice in your drink and to adjust your level of sweetness in case you don't want the sugar rush. Also, if you want a snack to pair your teas with, I definitely recommend their popcorn chicken. It has a varying level of spices. Sadly they tend to run out the last view times I've been but I try to get it as much as I can. They have an abundance of affordable snacks too from pot stickers to steamed buns to French fries. All are below $5.00. This place has had me coming back for more well over a year now and I don't plan on stopping. read more

I love boba. I've tried this place many times when I got shopping to target or aldi. I've had their peach black tea Mango black tea And their guava black tea. I have never been disappointed. Every time I come I always have great customer service, and a delicious drink. I always get their biggest size. Yeah I know, I'm fat whatever their drinks are BOMB. One year ago, this place was okay. Their fries were meh and their popcorn chicken was dry. Today, I found a love to this place. I have yet to try all their boba but the ones I tried didn't disappoint me. The thai tea here does make your teeth orange so you might need to watch out for that. The wait for the boba doesn't take too long but if you're ordering food, you may need to relax for a while because they won't be done quickly. Although the wait is long, that means the food is fresh and done well. The popcorn chicken isn't dry and has a lot of flavor. The fries come out super fresh and hot. I definitely recommend this place as a working place because it's not very loud and not too many people hang out here. read more

I've been coming here for 4 years now and I found this place because I used to live next to it. The drinks are good, but my favorite thing is their popcorn chicken! It is great and reasonably priced and portions are pretty large for a snack. You can order over the phone and pick it up on the way. The staff is friendly and place has board games and two arcade games in the back of the room. Some outdoor seating available. The only bad thing is their topping called aloe vera. For some reason, it is SO slimy and I've only experienced that here while aloe from other places were fine. Their other toppings are okay. read more

There's this one small girl with glasses that messed up my drink. Instead of remaking it right she said it would come out the same. Whomever the manager is or owner you need to make sure all employees maintain your standards or else your quality will go down fast. She obviously doesn't care to maintain your business. Wow! I stopped in the other day for a quick bite and tea before and a meeting. I was shocked at how large the snack popcorn chicken was. I ended up bringing the extras to my meeting and it was a hit.
