Nope. Got braces installed and DDS, Orthodontist George Jacobs stated that he couldnt fix my underbite and or midline. Referred me for oral surgery, which I was not opposed to and paid for the consult. Just so that the oral sugery can tell me that my underbite was mild and that braces mid-line correction treatments would help. By the way they estimated my 18month treatment for $12,000. Insurance covering 9 and 3 out of pocket. My family of 4 are all patients here and have been for years . It used to be good. Now its a processing center. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. They never take X-rays, I think in my 3 years as I patient I had x-rays done twice and one was only a PA (single tooth not full mouth) for an emergency. Went to school to learn more about dentistry because they diagnosed me with periodontal disease at 20 telling me I had 7-8 mm measurements. Once I was able to probe myself the deepest depth i measured was 4mm. Had an implant placed and they didn't even take my BLOOD PRESSURE before administering anesthetic. Now that I know what I know, I probably didn't even need to have that tooth extracted but that's why I added the responsibility to my plate to advocate for patients. I really wish someone in that entire building had some good morals on them and would've explained to the ME, a 20 year old naive PT, there are so many other options and other providers. Started of with getting a bridge and deep cleaning. The bridge was done and then they told me the permanent one got stuck in the machine to come back in and get some adjustments. Well she ended up shaving my teeth all the way down to the nerve and told me I have a sensitivity issue ended up having to get a root canal done which cost more money on top of the 3,000 I had already spent I only went back because she caused the problem so she needed to fix it but of course they wanted more money read more

The front desk reception was very sweet and kind. The office is very clean and spacious. However, I will never go back! I have an Invisalign retainer but I feel like it needs to be adjusted, the orthodontist told me he wouldn't be able to help me unless my wisdom teeth were removed...I was perplexed. My appointment with Forney Modern Dentistry was to have a cracked tooth replaced with a crown. When I arrived for my appointment I was taken back to the procedure room and was seen by Dr.Parker very quickly. Dr. Parker explained the procedure to me and answered all of my questions. He made me feel like I was the only patient he had at that time. He was very thorough and I was out of the office in about 2 hours. I have had other crowns that took 2-3 weeks to complete. Avoid this dental facility - Incompetent dentist and outrageous cost. I went to a different dentist for a second opinion. Read on. 1. Their treatment costs at least double compared to other dentists with the same dental insurance plan. 2. I told the dentist I had discomfort with a lower tooth but the dentist said there was nothing wrong with that tooth but it's the upper tooth that's causing the pain. Have never heard of that diagnosis before. Got it checked out at a different dentist and confirmed there was infection on my lower tooth. 3. Insisted that I need to have a whole mouth deep cleaning that will cost $700 with insurance. Also said I need to return every 4 months for $80 cleaning. Front desk was pretty rude in my experience but the issue is how they try to upcharge everything. I went in for a cleaning and it took two hours only to be told I needed a $300 cleaning. After getting scared into it, my timeframe didn't work out and I had to go. They refused to simply clean my teeth regularly so I had to go back. The lowest amount I could do was $120. The dentist was great but the hygienist really did nothing. When I checked out I was getting scared into more money and cleanings because of a condition the dentist said nothing about. Don't fall for the scam as I did. The original prices I was given also went up. My total for all services I needed went from $800 to $1700. Again, save yourself the trouble and time. read more

I read the bad reviews and was a little worried about my appointment. I felt very comfortable there. Fast check in and was in for x-rays right away. Then quickly onto my dentist. I ended up needing more work than I was hoping for but I knew I needed it. They had my records from my previous dentist and did not recommend anything above what my previous dentist recommended so that made me feel comfortable with what I needed done. They are very upfront with cost and worked with me as to what was urgent and what could wait. Everyone was very nice and considerate. read more

Had an amazing experience with this office!! I just moved here from CA and hadn't been to the dentist in a year. Turns out i needed TWO root canals. I've been putting off my dental health for awhile but really needed the work done. The dental office staff was able to come up with an affordable payment plan and schedule me in immediately. Dr. House was amazing to work with. He made me feel comfortable, even when the procedure was pretty invasive. I spent 4 hours one visit and 5 hours another visit but the work was done, the crowns look beautiful and i have a much better idea of what encompasses a root canal. He also upgraded the original crown i chose, at no cost! Definitely a great experience and i will continue to bring my family to this office!! read more

They didn't tell me how to take care of a tooth extraction (don't gargle, no soda, don't drink out of a straw, don't upset the blood clot) so I got a dry socket. I didn't know what that was, that it was possible, or what to watch out for. My jawbone was exposed, and it was on a Friday. I worked all weekend in pain and my cheek swelled and I developed a 105 degree fever. Luckily the hospital gave me antibiotics and I healed. I will NEVER go here again, neither will my children. read more

The front desk staff is wonderful. My experience with getting my wisdom teeth removed was wonderful. I didn't have any problems afterward or during the procedure. On the other hand, the orthodontics is horrible ! The orthodontics himself is acceptable.. but the techs are awful ! DO NOT GO HERE. I have been going to this dentist for years and at first I liked it. A year or two after going here, they got all new staff except for the front desk lady. When I went in they told me I had cavities and needed a gum graft. My teeth felt fine so this didn't make any sense to me. A few days later a friend of mine actually just got a gum graft done which I thought was weird since we went to the same dentist, how many people need a gun graft?? Then my mother was then told she had 4 cavities and needed a gum graft as well. I know of many people who were denied service and said they needed to schedule a "deep cleaning" in order to be able to come in. The last straw to this place was them telling me I had 3 cavities & they told my mother she had mouth herpes. This was after we sat in the chair in the back for a HOUR. We finally heard them coming in the back door from chilis. We immediately left and went to a different dentist just to be told our teeth look great and everything was healthy. To say the least this place will do anything to get you to commit to a procedure. read more

I came to this dentist to get a crown. They shaved down my tooth and gave me a temp crown for a week. A day after the temp crown was placed, the temp crown fell off, then next day, after I placed it on myself, it broke in half. I then went back in the next day, to get a new temp crown, and this one didn't even last 24 hrs before it fell off. At this point my mouth is in an extreme amount of pain, and my tooth that has been shaved down almost to the nerve is exposed, and my options seem to be to drive from plano to Forney once again to get another temp crown, or wait it out for the permanent crown on Thursday. This office has the worst customer service. I had my daughter go in for a cleaning. We have new Dental insurance and this office was the closest. I asked that my daughter NOT have X-Rays done. I was told that "By law X-Rays are required on all new patients". I don't appreciate being lied to and the attempt to manipulate me in order to bill insurance for unnecessary X-Rays. WARNING !!!! If you are looking for a new Dentist run away do not walk away. This dentist is IN NET WORK with Cigna but when it comes to following the guidelines they make their own. Over charged me for the work and charged it to my Care Credit account. But when the EOB came from Cigna it was clear they over charged. I spoke with the office manager Alicia Underwood for a refund and she states they explained it to me on my first visit. Even after I had told her NO it was not discussed with me about the charges and when I asked for them to send for a predetermination it was stated back to me they did not need to do that it would be covered. Well it was not fully covered and I was charged more than I should have been it was stated again they told me. Each and every time I stated they did not explain anything just gave me a piece of paper with the service the doctor suggested circled. Then when I did go in for the service the dentist was the one that cut off the old crown and cleaned it up. From that point on he did not even check on me it was an asst. that did all the work and the temp was so big it did not match the rest of my teeth and I kept biting my cheek. When I went back with the complaint about the temp I expected to see the dentist but nope it was just the asst. again that I saw. She did grind and buff it down but it broke in half on my way home. Alicia stated she would email me after she had time to look into my claim. That was Sept 2017 and I have still not received the email from her. I even emailed the dentist and explained it all to him and again NO return email, call or letter. My insurance agent had to call them and I then finally got a $40.00 refund not the amount I was expecting but figured it was a lost cause and decided to move on down the road. The dentistry side of Forney Modern Dentistry has excellent customer service. Dr. Shirley is very caring. My daughter got her braces put on by the Orthodontist there and that side of things is awful. One assistance doesn't even address my daughter by her name (Lil girl), did I mention that she's been going there for almost a year and you don't know her name. They only service patients on Mondays and Tuesday; and please don't have an appt scheduled at 5 or 5:30 you will definitely get the worst customer service from the Orthodontist and her assistance, because they get off at 6 pm and you are keeping them from getting home. If you need a dentist I highly recommend Dr. Shirley and any other dentist there, but if you need an Orthodontist.....LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!! read more

I had an appointment for 2pm and by 3:30pm (that's an hour and a half) I still had not had my cleaning. I was a new client so they signed me up for the $59 special. I guess I got the $59 service. I have never been so furious......did they not think my time was valuable???? I guess because I did not have dental insurance, I was not priority. If this was the case, then they should advertise that you have to wait almost 2 hours to receive the $59 "DEAL" . I felt insulted and walked out. Dr. Al-Obaidi is knowledgeable, professional and kind. THIS REVIEW IS BASED SOLELY OFF OF THE HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCES WE'VE HAD WITH TAMEKA. She is outright unprofessional, rude and a racist. She would consistently interrupt and speak over myself and my wife as we were speaking and even went so far as to shift the computer screen in front of my wife's face as she was attempting to ask questions, on two separate occasions. Mind you, we continued to be patient and didn't address her behavior because I was set to be on a treatment plan that entailed 9 separate visits so I didn't want to be made even more uncomfortable on my return visits. Now, they won't even accept or return my phone call to schedule an appointment and she has instructed the front office staff such as Briana to say that she is unavailable and will have to return our call later but later never arrives. She is clearly unfit to serve in a customer service capacity as she allows her own insecurities effect her behavior and performance and encourages the other office staff to do the same.
