Went on a Thursday night made reservations for 7 at 5:30, hopefully it was just an off night. We did not leave until 7:30, it took forever to receive the food. We were given one thing of bread which was about 2 half loafs that were never refilled, it also took forever to get water refilled. I orderd penne alla vodka and received linguine instead with no explanation or warning, another person also received a different pasta instead of penne. Overall, the food was fine, it just took forever and was not exactly what was ordered. Went here in 6/10 at 4pm and were seated immediately and the restaurant was empty. My wife ini ordered salads and our friend soup, which was served in about 10 minutes and were good. The issue is it took over an hour to get an order of fettuccini alfredo, spaghetti & meatballs and brioscotti, which was like a breakfast bowl. Food was decent, although my Alfredo was a bit soupy. The portion size was good as was the flavor. Again the issue was the over an hour we needed to wait for our meals. When we asked the server who was basically non existent, she said it takes longer to make authentic food. Made us chuckle as it must take longer at the restaurant to cook pasta noodles and pour sauce than any other Italian restaurant we've patronized in our lives. The comment was actually a bit sarcastic and she should have apologized and let us know she would check on our order. Our bill came to about $95 without tip. Ate here recently with a group of 8 people. Overall, everyone loved their food. Some had sandwiches with side pasta, and some had pasta dishes. Service was good, especially considering there appeared to be only one person servicing tables, and she was running her tail off (but it was a late lunch for us (1pm), and there were only a few parties there at the time). The appetizers were good. We had the hot stuffed banana peppers, which were fantastic, the calamari, which was equally fantastic, and the garlic bread (which I would give a 3 at best). A solid five stars for the Italian Village on Transit Road in Depew. The food was absolutely excellent today for lunch. John Balconi of blessed memory, understood hospitality and Italian cuisine. His son of the same name is following in his tradition, and today was an absolutely splendid demonstration of true dining excellence. Their stuffed hot banana peppers are among the top I have had anywhere. The dipping oil for the bread they bring to the table is absolutely marvelous. The tomato sauce is complex, yet balanced, and goes beautifully with their generous portion of pasta. Service was a bit slow, but the food was so good, I give them a pass. The ambience of this restaurant is perfect for a business lunch or a romantic dinner. I need to come back here more often. read more

We had picked this place 3 weeks earlier because it was a family restaurant! Everything was superb, fantastic, excellent, were all words to describe the service and food. Jennifer was our server and our first trip to Buffalo she took a little time to tell us some hot spots. This was a great choice by us. We had a 15 minute wait to be seated, but a Saturday night I call that a win also. I only took a picture of my plate which they practically had to carry me out of there I was so full. Also on your way out stop by the picture take thing. That was cool, it gives me a memory and sends it to my phone, attached also. On a chilly January night, the board I am on and I came to The Italian Village for a meeting and conversation. I have not been here for quite a while and found myself and everyone around me enjoying themselves and the food. The service was great and the server was attentive. They turned down the music for us, which was the perfect ambiance to talk and conduct a meeting. I ordered a house salad, and chicken parm made gluten free. I really enjoyed it and had leftovers. I loved my Pasta ala Siciliano. It can be ordered plain or with chicken or calamari or shrimp. There is also the choice of mild, medium or hot. I ordered my dish with chicken and hot! There was a good amount of chicken in my serving. It was cut in small cubes, which I thought was rather strange, but happy there were a lot of cubes. I asked for "hot"; the sauce was spicy, but not nearly as hot as I expected/hoped. Many years ago, when Italian Village was still on Grant Street, they served a pasta fra diablo. Hot and spicy. I was hoping for the same sauce. The bread was also very good. Both butter and olive oil with seasonings in it were served with the bread. Yummy. I enjoyed my meal very much. P.S. I was hoping for a version of pasta diavolo, I like spicy. That was not on the menu, but according to the waitress their Pasta ala Siciliano comes close to it. (You can order it in mild, medium or hot). I picked hot. Options are plain, shrimp, calamari or chicken. I picked the shrimp. It was a generous serving with a nice amount of shrimp and plenty of sauce. Nice taste but the spiciness was a bit disappointing. Some heat, but definitely not hot on my spiciness scale. I took home a doggy bag and was surprised that it seemed more spicy the next day. Before the main course arrived we were served bread with butter and seasoned olive oil. Very good. read more

I drove all the way from Jamestown for them, the lasagna was amazing in the place, I only ate 25% of it (hard to with braces), the kid took it away to box it, and my left overs are missing the cheese and sauce! It's gross abd dry! Either they screwed me over and boxed it terribly OR gave me someone else's left overs because I'm missing my sauce and cheese. I never should have let that kid box it else where because I'm livid and won't eat this dry garbage that might not even be mine. I'm disgusted. read more

If you're looking to have a private party, they have some excellent rooms and their servers are superior! However, I found it to be very very pricey. And the Italian food just mediocre. We had 10 people in our party and I asked everyone what they thought of their meal and most of them said it was okay. If you're paying $24.95 for a dish, it should be more than okay just my opinion. Also, the alcohol drinks are $12 each and I swear that there is not more than 4 ounces of alcohol in there or liquid. I should say. Smallest glass I have ever seen to serve alcohol in. We ordered martinis and margaritas that came in something similar to shot glasses for $12 each. If you want to spend a lot of money and have mediocre Italian food then this is your place. Staff was very friendly and did a great job keeping up with clearing the table, checking on us, etc. Menu was big and it was hard to choose one thing so I went with the italia tre platter which consisted of spaghetti and a meatball, stuffed shells, and chicken parm. I really and enjoyed the sauce and the meatball was good too! Stuffed shells were good (although I don't think I've ever met a stuffed shell I didn't like). No complaints on the chicken parm either. My friend enjoyed his meal as well (spaghetti and meatballs). We both left with left overs which was nice! My son enjoyed mine so I didn't have to cook him dinner (bonus!). The complimentary bread and oil was ssooooo good. The bread was nice and warm and I loved the seasoning of the dipping oil. The only thing me and my friend didn't like was the Arancini. He felt it tasted bland. I didn't think it was too bland, I just didn't like the taste. I compared with picture from last visit, definitely more sauce and way less gnocchi ! Last time I brought half of it home. Didn't taste quite as good either. This is the menu description: Pan fried, egg battered cutlets, sautéed in onions topped with ham, eggplant, and romano. Covered with melted mozzarella and served in a butter sherry wine sauce. Can't be beat. My wife had, for the first time, Chicken Giocattolo, Penne pasta topped with sun-dried tomato cream sauce with a breaded chicken breast and an aged balsamic reduction. Our dining companions had eggplant Parm (no menu description needed) and Chicken Montemaggiore, Breaded chicken cutlets with a four cheese blend of bleu cheese, cream cheese, romano, and ricotta. Topped with spinach, roasted red peppers, and baked with mozzarella. The Italia Tre Platter was huge and the sauce and stuffed shells were delicious. The all-beef meatball was a bit odd in texture and not the best however. Chicken Giacattolo was tasty, creamy sun dried tomoato sauce with penne and breaded chicken strips. Service was friendly and prompt for a busy Saturday night. We were seated after a short wait of ten minutes and food was served within 15 minutes of placing our order. Can't complain because at other restaurants these days service is slow or simply lacking. Atmosphere of the large dining room is simple, no fuss, no art on the gray walls, just plenty of tables to accommodate patrons. My girlfriend and I decided to go out on a whim (6/23/25) after a long Monday at work. We had passed this place every day, so we decided it was finally time to give it a try. And they did not disappoint! Not only were we surprised by the amount of space inside (it looks small from the outside), but the food and the service were exceptional. We shared the Calamari and Bruschetta to start, both phenomenal. I then proceeded to have the best plate of Shrimp Alfredo I've ever tasted. As far as the ambience and the service, they were above average. Wonderful. But the food was tasteless. Yes, it was served hot and the portions are large. But the food was absolutely tasteless. None at all. Take my advice go to Sinatra's. We had an appetizer, two spaghetti dishes, one glass of wine and one cup of coffee. The bill was 100 bucks. I can find -anywhere else in the city -such a better Italian foods. I am so angry with myself, because the waiter seems so used to it. We were lucky to be able to schedule my mother's funeral lunch here on a Saturday in December. Although we tried to give an accurate number of attendees, we had many unexpected guests. The staff was amazing under such stressful circumstances. They provided extra tables, cooked extra food and tended the bar.
