I am mildly--but clinically, with the papers to prove it-- learning disabled, and when I requested that someone SHOW me how to get to the other elevator (because the main one was broken AGAIN) she laughed and said, "It's REALLY not that hard" without moving an inch. Packing my shit up and finding a new space asap. The rates are MUCH better at Safeway and Safkeep anyway, y'all! Ditch this overpriced shithole.

As context, I'm a storage unit aficionado having rented units on 4 continents and currently holding two in two other states and one in Europe. I clearly have a problem that's informed me... and have seen the great, the mediocre, the bad, and the downright ugly. LA Security Storage earns 5 stars (GREAT!) from me because: 1. The staff is professional and you feel like (in all the good ways) that you're dealing with a family-run facility where they care about customer service. Curtis, the manager, runs a great ship. 2. The facility itself is unique if you take a moment to take a look at the building. The old school human-operated commercial elevator is great and there have always been carts available when we needed one. 3. The unit itself was clean and easy to access, we never had any issues getting in or out and there were no weird/odd/hard-to-place "storagey" odors that I've experienced in other facilites. The facility is super-duper clean, too. 4. Parking. Always able to get a spot and unload/reload easily. Woo! As for the hours, they may be shorter than other companies and that requires some planning from customers. Not a big deal, it's ok, just plan ahead. They put the unit on reserve for a week for me until I was ready to move in. When the day came, I called the unit In the morning to ensure it would be at the above rates we spoke about. They confirmed yes. When I arrived 1 hour later with all my things AND the movers, I'm told that the 50% deal has ended and they also increased the price to $140/ month within the hour. Total curve ball. My movers had to wait on the parking lot while I researched a new place to rent. And of course, I ended up having to pay the movers more for the time wasted. Classic example of corporate greed. The employees at the front desk are nice and helpful but the actual corporation itself is a piece of shit :)

CLICK YES WHEN IT ASKS IF YOU NEED MORE TIME. you can always pay over the amount and it will go to the next month. luckily when I paid at the kiosk and the kiosk timed out because I didn't have the exact amount. when I reentered the portal it said I paid nothing when I was a few dollars short. I called the office and they checked the kiosk for me and I was able to pay the correct amount the next day.

The elevator guys are fairly personable and quick. The only things that kind of sucks about this place is that they don't offer a subscription via credit card and their hours are fairly standard 9-5 work hours which was fine for me, but 24 hour access would have gotten them the fifth star. The place seems very secure and there aren't any hidden fees. In fact, they even prorate your first month if you come in halfway.
