Good,dependable BBQ sammiches for around the 5-6 dollar mark. Bailey's is easily one of the best lunch "meal deals" in downtown Fort Worth. As others have mentioned, the pulled pork is their best offering, but their chopped and sliced beef aren't bad either. Skip the chips on their lunch special and get the beans. Unlike some of the more venerated and well known BBQ places around Fort Worth, these guys make their own beans, rather just opening up a can of Ranch-Style (Railhead and Angelo's, I'm looking at you!), and they are good. Of course, watching the 3 folks inside at work is also part of the deal. I'm always impressed at how fast they keep the line moving, get everybody their sammiches and still greet everybody with a smile and make you feel at home and seeing this tiny, red brick BBQ shack in the middle of downtown Fort Worth is always a delight. I am a big BBQ fan. I went in expecting good chopped beef sandwiches and a decent prices from a small town BBQ shack in the city. The sandwiches were merely ok. The potato salad was just ok. The prices for one sandwich will get you a sandwich plate with sides in most places like it. ($5-$6) The people were friendly, the building was quaint. Decided to try this place today. Nice little place, has a divey, funky vibe, like Fred's. Ordered the chopped brisket sandwich. No complaint about the amount of meat, they gave me probably 6 ounces of meat on the bun, but it tasted like it came out of a container from Costco. While eating my sandwich, I saw a framed newspaper article on the wall where the owner mentioned that he cooks the meat from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., then refrigerates it for use the next day. No wonder the chopped brisket tasted like it came out of a plastic bucket - because it did. The article also mentioned that the owner inherited the restaurant, which explains his lack of passion. The place was clean, the prices were good, and the staff was friendly, but until the owner cares enough to offer product cooked on the same day, I won't be back. read more

I give this place 3.5 stars. Walking to work in the mornings, one is hit by the savory smells of BBQ cooking. While I enjoy BBQ, it hard to give this place a higher rating for the food when there are other standout BBQ places to eat near the stockyards (Cooper's). Baileys is awesome. Lunch is 5 dollars for a saucy meaty sandwich, a big bag of chips and a canned drink. Mediocre BBQ. Came here while on jury duty in the city and got to finally check this place out. It's a quiet little shack in a sleepy part of downtown. I had the sliced beef sandwich for about $5 and the meat had a fair smoky flavor however it didn't wow me. Asked for the sauce on the side, but after 3 bites I wished it had been mixed in with the beef...it needed it in a bad way. Dry, chewy, and barely any smoke flavor in the crust. Staying downtown I asked for a local place to go near by for BBQ and got a recommendation to try the brisket. The crowd at lunch appeared to be made up of mainly regulars who enjoyed conversation with the staff. Staff was sure friendly but the food was a disappointment. There is a right way to carve brisket, against the grain, and that is not how the brisket We were served was carved. This made the meat chewy and practically inedible. Besides the chew challenge the flavor was lacking. The sausage is a very fine grind and also lacked much flavor. The only sides we tried were pinto beans and potato salad which were ok. I hope the poorly cut brisket was an accident that only happens every once in awhile especially for a place that prides themselves on being in the BBQ business as long as they claim. read more

I got the daily special which was spicy pulled pork, a bag of chips and a canned soda AND it was cheap. The bun was plain but the pork was good. It was quick and easy.
