It was a bit on the sweet side but it was moist and a little thick. I didn't see much strawberry mixed in the middle with the cream. For about 20 years my family has gone to fortune bakery for every cake we've ever needed, and they've never failed to make something we love. Ordering cakes is easy over the phone; just make sure to order a day or two in advance. Most days you'll find cakes already made in the bakery. If you want you could just ask to have something written on one and you're good to go! Joe, who bakes and works the front counter, is very friendly and you could tell he takes a lot of pride in his work. The outside of this little shop doesn't look like much but the inside is very nicely decorated and colorful. Along the walls are many display cases filled with cake toppers and little toys used for decorations. You'll find anything from princess theme, to Monsters Inc. toys, to Snow White cake toppers. You could find a cake for any occasion. They don't just look cute, they also smell and taste awesome! Whenever I walk in the bakery, the smell is the first thing I notice. It smells like freshly baked cake, vanilla, and frosting. You could also smell the delicious cookies they have at the front counter. Of course everything tastes as great as it smells. My favorite is the chocolate with strawberry cake. However, the chocolate with banana cake is a close second. The chocolate cake is always sweet and rich. The vanilla cake is also very delicious. Whether you get chocolate or vanilla cake, the bread is always nice and fluffy. I usually order mine with half chocolate/half vanilla with strawberries. What really makes these cakes so delicious is the frosting. Personally, I don't really like frosting, UNLESS it's from Fortune Bakery. It's always sweet but never overpowering. The woman was patient and nice to help me pick out a perfect cake for my brother and his desires plus was big enough to have another half for chocolate lovers too. I was nicely decorated and simple. My mom liked the taste of the cake. It was soft yet not heavy, similar to that of the usual Asian birthday cakes, but just a tad denser. The cream frosting was good as it wasn't too sweet. My only complaint would be the filling of the fruit. I wished there was a bit more rather than a thin spread of the fruit in the middle. I ordered a rectangular wedding cake serves 40 ppl. 2 flavors: Vanilla with custard filling and chocolate with strawberries. Vanilla and Custard was tooooooooo sweet. Chocolate with strawberry was good. Our guests reported that the cake was too sweet but I was told by owner that his cakes are not too sweet. So , this is a wedding cake and I told Joe the decoration will be the fall color flowers with a little light pastel green leaf around the flowers. Neither the flower or the leaf were in the right color when I received the cake and the decorations are too small to even be a wedding cake. Each flower is only 1-1.5" inch in diameter and the leaf is greyish green. Our names were in the center, but too small too. I'll post the pictures up when I get them from my photographer. I was really disappointed by the cake. Especially I told him I want the flowers to look exactly like the ones from Joe's previous wedding cake projects, and he said There should n't be any problem. $62 for the cake. read more

There are over 10 different kinds made in the store daily, but, my favorite is the strawberry creme filling, or the carrot cake. My grandaughters like the lemon and tres leches......so super moist. The bakery has been around since 1985, but, we were lucky to meet them several years ago when there was a barter club for business owners to exchange services. We got a Tres Leche cake for my boyfriend's sister's birthday and man oh man was it delicious! The cake itself was moist and tasted fresh and the frosting wasn't too sweet. I would've had another slice or three if I wasn't so full from lunch. We also got the Honey Baklava and the Chocolate Chip Brownie. The Baklava was really good and I've yet to dig into the brownie but I'm sure it'll be great. The service was wonderful and there are a bunch of toppers around the store for you to add on to your cake. They got everything from Disney Princesses to Star Wars characters and even the Animaniacs!
