A leftover piece of pie, still delicious and waiting for me to gobble it up.

I wanted to get a great apple pie for my dad's 100th birthday and Courtney provided exactly what I was hoping for. The pie was chock-full of fresh apples, cooked perfectly and not too sweet or mushy. The crust was so good, that I ate every bite--as did everyone else at the table. We also ordered a small strawberry rhubarb pie, which was bursting with delicious fresh berries. Everybody at the celebration loved them, especially my dad. Courtney obviously puts a lot of care into her desserts, and she also answered all my questions promptly and thoroughly. Yes, it costs more than store bought, but it was worth every penny--and the large pie easily served 8 people. I heartily recommend Loveday Kitchen's apple pie and I'm very happy that I've got some left over to finish today.

Courtney is amazing. I ordered several vegan and gluten free mini pies for Thanksgiving for my family who has different diets needs. Not only are these pies beautiful, but my cousin (Gluten Free) said they were the best GF pies she's ever had. The gluten free pumpkin cheesecake was out of this world yummy. You can tell the thought and care Courtney puts into her baking and her business. She even messaged me to check if we were celiac or not because she would prepare differently if needed. I can't recommend her enough. We will be ordering our holiday pies from her from now on. Yummmm!!!!

I got the pie sampler apple pie, bourbon pecan, hot chocolate and salted honey. They were all very good. I love the unique flavors . The salted honey was my favorite.

    MAC & CHEESE hand pies!

TIP: ADD $4 FOR A SIDE OF BANANA MAC NUT PANCAKES TO YOUR CHIMICHURRI STEAK Chimichurri steak with 2 fried eggs and 2 banana macadamia nut pancakes: 5/5. I'm always conflicted between sweet or savory for breakfast, but this solves all my problems. The banana mac nut pancakes were perfect - so fluffy, not too sweet, so many bits of macadamia. Chimichurri steak was yummy, but I'll try ordering it medium rare next time if they allow me to. All this for $24 is such a steal. Chicken katsu with rice and mac salad: 5/5. Bouncy, snappy pieces of chicken that are not dry at all. Seasoned so well!

It's mainly self serve (order and counter and go pick your own seat). The food is brought out to you. The tables and bathrooms are kept relatively clean. They captured the Hawaiian relaxed environment real well. I like their location selection isn't too busy and the dining area is simply decorated and overall provides a "chill" atmosphere environment to dine in. The food itself is pretty good. I ordered the Macnut banana pancake. The portion was huge, I could only finish half. The flavors are ok, could be better. I miss the syrup options in Hawaii... here they only have maple syrup. The macadamia nuts were too soft. In Hawaii there was much more crunch to the pancakes. My family ordered the Kailua pork omelet, soft shell crab pancake and other items. They seem to really enjoy the food and say they would come back. It's a good place to get some island food without flying over to Hawaii. Would come back.

The vampiros are a delicious appetizer to share. The peanut butter French toast is so good!!! It's super heavy though but definitely one of the better sweet options on the menu. It wasn't too busy for a Sunday mid afternoon. One thing I noticed is that we were able to join the waitlist virtually which was nice! Unfortunately, the wait time for the food was much longer than expected considering how slow it seemed. Some items came out hot, but my taco plate was only warm. The food itself wasn't horrible, but overall it was a bit bland. The sauces definitely helped, but sauces should enhance the flavor, not be the main source of it. I also don't want to single anyone out, so I'll just say the overall staff energy wasn't very welcoming. I actually stopped by about a week ago just to pick up desserts and experienced a similar vibe then too. I'm honestly bummed to leave a negative review because I wanted to like this place, but between the wait, lack of flavor, and unwelcoming atmosphere, I'll probably not return.

It's surprising how busy this place is especially for women/girls (maybe souffle is more popular…read moreamong girls?) The only guys you see mostly liley are those who come as part of a family. However I personally think souffle is a glorified version of pancake. It's slightly thicker and more fluffy and if you like pancakes there is no reason why you wouldn't like this (other than the price?). The location is in a strip mall next to the bigger 99 Ranch plaza and parking can be difficult to find especially top side but there is a underground parking lot next door. It can still get busy so you may have to park in that plaza and walk over on busy weekends. Just note this place is busy even in the weekday evenings. There are very few tables so if you are coming as a date/family, you may not find a table. The tables are also small so I wouldn't recommend a large group of more than 4. You order via a kiosk and for drinks they will call your order number. For souffle if you dine in, you can take a number stand and place on your table just like some McDonald's. Souffle is not bad and not too sweet especially with the original flavor.

Been to Motto multiple times and the items here from drinks to food items have all been pretty…read moresolid! Quality to aesthetics get high marks but sometimes taste is lacking. Souffle pancakes in different occasions always look so pretty, are the best everyone's ever had, some some flavor profiles don't work. Maybe that's why the menu sometimes changes. For example the yuzu grape was completely bland because the yuzu drizzle on top was a thin line i couldn't taste at all. At least put a spread between each layer or pour a lot on top like the others (eg berry or mango). The mint leaves was the most potent flavor in this dish. Over the grapes, blueberries, matcha powder, yuzu. Got the mango triple layer drink this time and if you drink it carefully, you can appreciate the contrast from the mango puree, the milk, the creamy salted matcha. If you just mix it up completely you won't get that affect. One thing that bothers me is because the menu changes I seem to always be unable to get something I'm thinking of from the previous visit. I recall last time I had some mochi and rice ball I added to a drink that was so damn good and I couldn't add it this time. Though I recall that drink being $11.50 from the add ons. The souffle pancake was $21... so place is $$ but again the quality is there. Service wise, never interacted with staff really. Kiosk to order. Drinks just sit at counter when done. Didn't call numbers. Oh they did bring the pancake, no words spoken.

Not even 30 minutes later the whole place was packed. I ordered the Benedict Pancakes ($22) and the seasonal Biscuit souffle pancakes ($18). I also tried the Tonkatsu Curry ($16). For a drink I got the pot of Peach Momo Tea ($6). My benedict pancakes came out first. The souffle pancakes and the tonkatsu curry came out at the same time 30 minutes later. The benedicts weren't bad, but I probably wouldn't get them again. The yolk was solid and not runny and the pancakes were just normal flat pancakes, and they were kind of dry. The tonkotsu and the Japanese pancakes were way better. Both were very flavorful and nice and hot. For the tea pots you also get refills, so we got a lot to drink with that. For a two-person table, it was definitely too small to hold everything that we ordered. Luckily by the time the curry and the pancakes came out I was already finished with my benedict pancakes and was able to give it to them to clear out to make room for the other dishes. Service was good, the wait for the food was long but they were still attentive enough to get us what we needed. Once you get your food they try to get you out as quickly as possible since the longer it went the longer the wait outside was for a table. Overall it was a nice breakfast/brunch experience. It is a bit pricey, but some dishes are better than others. I would come back either for the Japanese pancakes or the curry. The tea was great too. I would probably skip the eggs benedict next time though.
