Oh My Pan is an established bakery and cafe that has been around here for a long time. They have a great selection of Taiwanese breads and pastries that are made fresh daily. There is a good balance of sweet vs savory breads. The pineapple bun and matcha mochi bun are especially good. Everything here is pretty affordable too. As for cakes, there is also a decent selection. They sell individual cake slices as well as whole cakes that are perfect for celebrations. The brick toast is amazing, but it is only available for dine in and only during certain hours. I would highly recommend the Volcano Strawberry Toast. Even their drink menu is quite significant. There are fresh teas, milk teas, fruit teas, slushes, frosted milk, and coffees. Their drinks do lean towards the sweeter side. For fruit teas, you can taste the syrup pretty clearly. I do prefer their milk teas instead. Although nothing amazing, the drinks are still worth trying alongside some bread.
San Gabriel has so many bakeries, and this is one I hadn't tried before. They have a pretty good selection of breads and pastries, all at very reasonable prices. We grabbed a handful of baked goods. I'd rate them above average, and for the price, I'd definitely come back for more. We also tried one of their exclusive cakes. It wasn't overly sweet and was overall very tasty. Solid bakery. Parking: Easy, there are plenty of spots in the underground lot or in the back.
I was in the area and I wanted to reminisce about my childhood! I came with a couple other people and we wanted a drink. I noticed that they have a happy hour available on weekdays for $4 large boba milk teas. They didn't have boba and the woman snapped at us mid sentence saying we don't have boba. No worries, we still opted for the happy hour since it's 50 cents cheaper and got an upgrade to a large. Drinks were decent/average. They have a large bread and cake selection! I have better memories of this place but the service was super unfriendly and unprofessional.
With plenty of bakeries around SGV, I had to try Oh My Pan as I've heard some good qualities about their shop. Parking here is small to moderate as it's shared with other shops. Pretty small lot but there's underground as well, could be a bit compact but street parking is also accessible. At first glance, this is a pretty sizeable bakery. A decent amount of tables as well since it's a cafe combo. Cakes, bread, drinks are all accessible and the drinks are fairly good for the cheaper price compared to the standard boba shops. Breads here are restocked fairly often and from the baskets, there's plenty of unique options of breads that aren't seen in other bakeries. One that caught my eye was the boba bread and the matcha swirl bread. Both are fairly delicious but I would say it's a acquired taste. Definitely a try it once type of bread and have a verdict afterwards. My partner and ordered a couple of the breads to try which include the signature pineapple breads, matcha, sausages, and some sweeter bread as well. All were pretty soft, fresh, and cheaper compared to other bakeries. We also ordered two drinks, the Orchid Milk Tea & the Light Oolong Milk Tea. Both were pretty refreshing but nothing over the top as it's cheaper than the usual shops. Overall, a nice spacious bakery/cafe combo that's good for doing some work, a small bite, or drinks for affordable price. They also have cakes so that's definitely a option whenever I have a birthday to consider.
One of my favorite bakeries because of the reasonable cost and also their chocolate crunchy cake (please please please never discontinue it). My husband and I preordered a half sheet Chocolate Crunchy for our baby shower a few weeks in advance and it was a hit at the shower. Almost every guest finished their slice and a few went to grab seconds. Did it cost more than a Costco half sheet? Absolutely. Did it also taste much better? YES. I would absolutely order this again when we host another party.

The price of the bread and cakes here is reasonable and actually on the inexpensive side. We got the strawberry brick toast. They only offer it for dining in and only at certain times. It was a lot larger than I expected and was very tasty. It's worth a try if you're in the area.
Small shop that specializes in cakes, desserts, pastries, and fun drinks. The vibe is small town bakery. I came in on New Year's Eve on the way to a friend's house to pick up some dessert for our New Year's dinner. They had a cake that I thought was perfect. I also bought a couple of other things that I wanted to have for later. The person helping me was very friendly and helpful. Maybe it's because it was New Year's Eve but I was the only one in the store at the time so service was really quick and I was in and out in about 15 minutes total. Parking was a little strange. I'm not too familiar with that property, but I had to park around the corner. But a little walk doesn't hurt me at all.
Parking is difficult and tight, they have underground parking. It was difficult to find, as it's tucked in a shopping center. I came in at 9am on the weekday and not all of the baked goods were ready. It smelled delicious in the bakery as they were putting out their fresh goods! If you're wanting more of a selection, arrive later than 9am. Luckily they just pulled out trays of goods and I was able to snag some. These buns are big and are about $2-3 per bun. The cakes are beautifully designed and you can get an 8in for $45.

The pineapple bun was decent, I just wish there was more cookie to the cookie, the bao part of it was good though, soft and pillowy. We also wanted to try the sea salt coffee bao and that one was surprisingly good. Not too sweet and a lot of the bitterness from the coffee comes through. I think I would try their cakes next time as it seems to have good reviews.

Came on a weekday and had to wait almost 10 minutes as there was only 1 person making drinks. The drinks and food is good. I like that it's fairly cheap compared to other bakeries. I can order a large tea and a pastry for under $10.
Their cakes are inconsistent. We personally ordered a Matcha Tiramisu cake for someone's birthday and it was gross. Cake was fluffy but dry. Cream in between layers wasn't great either, left a waxy film in your mouth. Someone surprised me with a Strawberry Matcha Cake and it was pretty good. Light and fluffy, not too sweet. Not a thick layer of cream on exterior of cake.

This bakery has been my favorite one lately! The customer service is great-- they let you sample some of their breads by the cashier, and take the time to explain any questions you have about their cakes. The cake pick up process is very straightforward-- they just require you to bring the receipt that you got when you paid. They are on time with the cake pick up times, and the cakes always come out fresh and light! I've had the taro egg pudding, mango egg pudding, and I think the strawberry egg pudding one. The taro and mango egg pudding cakes were so yummy! The cakes have 3 layers and they have the fillings in between. The egg pudding isn't as fragrant as I'd hoped since you can barely taste it as the other flavors are stronger, but it gives the cake a nice moist layer. I also enjoy their breads. The size and price are still good and they accept card payments! Bakery is clean and organized. They have a small seating area if you get drinks and dessert and want to sit down. They do charge for a bag, so bring one if you plan to buy multiple breads to save on that $$. read more

The quality control really really need to be improve Me and my friends visited today and got some cake as well as bread. Everything before this was fine, we drink, eat, talk for a good amount of time. Until one of my friend decided to get this cake pop, ate it half way and saw mold in it. We asked the cashier and we did got our money back. And hey, accidents happens. But the thing is this is not the first time this happen to me. My sister got a Taro Cake here before (~5,6 months before) and it was super sour. We thought it was the way it is but she try it a different day and the taste was completely different. What that means? The 1st cake already expired and they have 0 idea about it. The services here are really depends on who it is. Some of them will talk to you like they just want u to leave asap but some are really sweet and kind. I really love this place and I hope they will improve it so no one will get food poisoining. What a total waste of money. We got a matcha tiramisu cake and literally there's only a super teeny thin layer of cake and 90% icing. It cost $45 for literal icing!!! Please do not get cakes here, it's an absolute scam. They shouldn't call those a cake. If I wanted icing, I could make it at home myself, lol. Absolutely do not recommend!! read more

Ho my pan is always my go to place when we have birthday celebrations but today is a BIG disappointment the cake we got was starch dry and not fresh. We probably need to look for a new place for cakes ... Sad read more

Where to start?! The cake, pastries, bread and drinks are so good! I tried to cut down on sugar and carbs but it's hard when this place is so addicting! My favorite cake so far is their Hokiado chocolate strawberry cake, then it would be their mango pudding cake. I tried several pastries and my favorite is the caterpillar roll which is so soft and perfectly filled. The sandwich tasted exactly as good as it looked. Although I could have done with less bread, I still gobbled it all up. The bread is fluffy and the inners were delectable! I got the hot kumquat lemon green tea to try. It was so good but not sure if it had honey or sugar haha but it was perfectly sweet. The place looks pretty clean and the workers are really sweet. Maybe a bit weird...but I have to refrain myself from going here everyday. I find myself finding excuses to buy their cakes to share even if I am not celebrating anything! read more
Date of visit: multiple times including today 9/25/23 They have boba milk tea bun, which I don't see anywhere else. Also not very common at Chinese bakeries elsewhere is the honeydew melon bun. I've seen this at Japanese bakery store but definitely not Chinese bakery. I like this bakery and always make the time to stop by whenever I'm in the area. To heat up, just use toaster oven NO NEED PREHEAT, 10 mins 350F. read more
There's no shortage of Chinese bakeries in the SGV and I do like my carbs... With many larger chains popping up, don't forget about independent bakeries like Oh My Pan! that offers both unique breads and cakes. And, one day, I will try that volcano toast desert that everyone is posting about. read more

It's been years since I came here, and thought it's time for an update. I used to come here more often for their honeydew bun, but with new bakeries popping up everywhere in the SGV, this wasn't on my mind anymore. Recently, after lunch a few miles away, their honeydew bun popped into my mind again, so the craving brought me back. The place hasn't changed much over the years, but there seems to be some new breads that I don't recall seeing before. Honeydew: Light melon flavor over a soft bun. The flavor tastes a bit milder than what I recall. Not bad but missed the more melon flavor from years ago. Coffee chocolate bun: Nice coffee flavor with a slightly butter chocolate filling. It's a nice balanced flavor, not too sweet nor too bitter. For coffee fans, try this. Strawberry buttermilk bun: Nice fragrant strawberry flavored dried buttermilk. Not to sweet as most fruit flavored pastries usually are. Matcha mochi: Has a generous amount of matcha filling with a mochi center. Though it looks like it's stuffed with cream (see photo) it's not heavy at all. These are the buns that I don't see elsewhere and all turned out to be pretty good, considering I'm not exactly a huge fan of carbs. But it's these unique flavors that makes Oh My Pan worth the drive while there are like a dozen bakeries closer to me. read more

I usually get the taro cake here because it's good and sweet level is ideal for my senior parents. ....but today's cake (purchased on Xmas Day, with holiday theme decor) was old. STALE CAKE. The cake was hard and dry...not fresh at all. When you break it with your fork, everything fell apart, no hold or moisture to the cake and taro paste. I would skip this place on holidays...the quality of the cake was not worth $43. Ended up throwing away the leftover (1/2) away the same night. It was just terrible. Milk tea quality is ok, nothing stands out. Best to go some place else for tea/drinks. It's not as good as I remember. read more

Strawberry volcano toast - favorite brick toast of any place, basically all crispy edge pieces with no bready center portions, kind of like a crispy French toast, eat quickly before ice cream melts and becomes soggy Mango black tea - solid drink, strong black tea with just the right amount of mango flavor read more

I've been here a few times and have always enjoyed their baked goods. I came here in the late afternoon to pick up some buns for the family. Since it was so late in the day there wasn't too much of a selection available but still found some things that my family would enjoy. The prices for the buns are reasonable and I like that they offer buns in flavors that I've never tried before (ie wintermelon bun). I immediately tore into a couple buns for a taste and they are soft, fresh, and perfectly sweet. They also had quite a good selection of cakes in the case available for purchase. Haven't tried their drinks but they seem to offer a good selection of fun flavors. I'd definitely come here for pastries more often if I was closer. I haven't had the opportunity to taste their beautiful looking cakes, but I highly recommend this place for the buns! read more
