I don't want to be hating on other miami restaurants but I have to say this chinese food was very very bad.. I had the sesame chicken with the house rice and both of them 3.0/10.00. The rice was not fried at all it was like regular yellow rice and the chicken had a weird taste. Very affordable only $12.00 for a plate but wow the could do better!! Places like this are abundant in L.A. and I was surprised to find this on the beach and for this price range too. * General Tso Chicken- Crispy, Batter Fried Chicken morsels tossed is a sweet & spicy sauce. Served with Plain rice or a diced ham fried rice. Broccoli Pieces. * Sesame Chicken - Same as above but with a sweet sauce similar to Orange Chicken, and topped with sesame seeds * BBQ Spare ribs - Yummy Pork Ribs coated in a sweet sticky sauce and charred just right. The items I didnt care for: * Fried Wontons - These would have been good but they were over fried and were a bit hard. Filled with tiny morsels of pork * Egg Roll - Hard and gross. This experience happened a couple months ago but forgot to post. Food is good, we ordered only three items. But when they tell you "your order will be ready in 20 to 25 minutes" and a full hour later it finally comes out while witness other people who arrived after you receive their food first does not make you very happy. Other people "patrons" that were there said yes they say 20 minutes all the time but we know it's an hour. So if you're a regular, you know that's part of the expected experience , but if you're a first time or an occasional customer you're not aware that is tell you whatever they need to to get your order so you'll eventually . So here we are in Miami, on vacation and in the mood to hang out in our room and watch TV. So we went to Chinese food as an option for dinner. Fortune cookies was suggested by the hotel front desk. We ordered General Tso Chicken, Shrimp Fried Rice and also 2 bags of the crispy wonton noodles. When I placed my order, I requested if we could have the General Tso Chicken with all white meat. I was told no they only make it with dark meat. I was a little confused, because I order General Tso Chicken like this all the time. I do this for a few reasons. I prefer it and it also means it will be prepared fresh! Needless to say - we ordered anyway. The General Tso Chicken flavor was pretty good. We did order extra spicy - I did not find it particularly spicy... but I burnt my taste buds out many years ago. The shrimp fried rice was OK. The shrimp size was actually very nice for a fried rice. I really love this place. Ive been looking for a good place for the last 3 years. This is the best place so far through out South of Miami up to North Miami. Legit Chinese food. My family and I came here since we were craving Asian food but it seemed like this was one of the only Asian places in the area where we wouldn't have to spend at least $12-15 per person. Here, you pay for what you get. Prices are low.. but so is the quality of the food. To be fair, my family and I are Chinese so we might have super high standards. We got the healthy option (steamed veggies and chicken with sauce on the side), lo mien, kung pao chicken combo (comes with ham fried rice, egg roll, and egg drop soup). I was happy to see the healthy option given that Chinese food is usually drenched in msg and soy sauce. It certainly was healthier. But it was pretty disturbing seeing and tasting the chicken when it's not drenched in sauce. It looked like low quality fake chicken and tasted as rubbery as it looked. The curry sauce was good though. The lo mien is like panda express's stir fried noodles. The Kung pao chicken is drenched in sauce. Tasty for sure.. but probably not too healthy. It also came with a ton of peanuts, celery, water chestnut, and mushrooms. I liked the variety but it seemed like a cheap way to use less chicken to others in my group. The egg drop soup was plain yet tasty. Dumplings satisfied the dumpling craving but they're far from what I would call good dumplings. They were fried but ended up rather soggy from all the oil. We got takeout. The lady at the cash register was nice. The food came out pretty fast. If you're looking for cheap Chinese food, this is the place. A recent Saturday afternoon I was craving Chinese food. After trying food from all the places I'd already had menus from, I decided to give this place a shot, as I only recently acquired Fortune Cookies' menu. I was actually craving egg foo yung in particular, which I thought was strange, cause it's far from my favorite Chinese dish, but I went with it, and Fortune Cookies delivered! The Chinese omelette came chock-full of veggies, with plenty of the yummy brown sauce to pour over the top. I also tried the kung pao shrimp, and that was excellent as well. All the combos came with ham fried rice (a little dry, but nothing a wee bit of soy sauce can't fix) and an egg roll (huge!). And for less than 50 cents more you can get your choice of soup! All the combos are in the $7-$9 range, so the prices can't be beat! Fortune Cookies has definitely shown its worth, and will be worked into my rotating roster of Chinese delivery spots on the beach. read more

I got the General Tso's Chicken after the reading good reviews about it and I was fairly satisfied. It was a good portion and the chicken was nice. However, my family ordered Lo Mein noodles and they tasted very off. They were nothing like the classic Lo Mein one would expect and quite frankly were not very tasty. The menu is large and we found the different dishes such as the Singapore Chow Mei Fung to be very mediocre. I would advise you to stick to the General Tso's Chicken if you want a classic, filling meal. read more

Fortune Cookies WAS my favortie chinese restaurant on South Beach. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. The last few times I ordered from Fortune Cookies, my order was usually wrong, or took long, or they completely lost my order so until I called asking on the status of my delivery, The food doesn't taste as good either.
