They did a super beautiful design, but they completely ignored multiple requests to not put lilies anywhere. We mentioned it a number of times, even wrote it on our contract, then mentioned it again that I have a severe allergy to lilies. I come in for my wedding and start feeling sick, my eyes start hurting, I start having difficulties breathing, and here they are - they completely ignored the request and decorated our entire Chuppah with lilies. Our wedding party was awesome. They removed these damn flowers and called Fortune Flowers requesting to fix it immediately. It took me, also my mother in law and my husband (who apparently had a reaction to them as well) a few hours until we stopped feeling sick. read more

This is my second time coming here. I just want to start by saying that I have no problem with the flowers. It was the same girl (I think her name was Olya) that made my bouquet, and the arrangement was as beautiful as the first time. My problem is with the bald guy (I think his name was Boris) that runs the place. While Olya was making my bouquet, I asked Boris if he could break a $20 bill. He (reluctantly) agreed, as if I wasn't a customer and just came in to break a bill, so I handed him $20. He looks at it for no more than 2 seconds and says (very confidently and nonchalantly), "it's a fake". For a second I get embarrassed, take it back and look at it myself. It looked worn out and had the texture as such, but when I brought it to the light it definitely had all the elements needed for it to be real, so I asked him to check with a marker. He said he didn't have one and then continued to prove to me that it's fake by showing me a fake $20 bill of his own. This bill actually looked and felt fake, yet not worn out and when brought to the light had none of the crucial elements that my bill had. At that point I said fuck it, and just handed him another $20. Guess what?! He had a problem with that one as well. No, not because it was "fake", but because it was a little ripped on the side. He said, "I'm sorry, but no one is going to take that from me". By this point I had so many mixed emotions inside of me, I was ready to just leave without the flowers. Instead, I finally found a crisp $20 bill and gave it to him. The irony of it all was that I needed to break that $20 to give it to Olya as a tip. To convince myself (or prove him right) I went to the bank to check the validity of the bill. To no surprise at all, they tell me, "it's a little worn out, but definitely real!" And just for shits and giggles I asked them if the ripped $20 bill was good to use. And once again, to no surprise, they told me that it was perfectly fine. In fact, they took them both and gave me two fresh $20 bills. In conclusion, Olya is a very talented florist, who deserves to be working in a much better establishment. I took one star off for embarrassing me with the first bill, then one for the other, and another one for wasting my time going to the bank to reassure myself. If I could, I'd give 1 star to the place and 5 to Olya. I don't know if I'll be coming back here, but if I do, hopefully I'm not going to have the same experience. I was unsure of what centerpiece arrangements to choose for my Engagement Party...I wanted something sexy/romantic but not whimsical/girlie. The staff at Fortune Flowers took the time to help me make my selection and were very patient with me. When the day came, they set up everything in a timely manner and the results were beautiful. I guess commitment, honesty or professionalism is not part of this flower shop's motto. To honor a verbal contract made with someone 9 months before a wedding is not part of this business' objective. This "business" made an agreement of delivering their product and backed out less then two months before the wedding, stating that other profitable opportunities would prevent them from delivering on their original promise. Even though they agreed to take on the order many months before this incident. Their greed got the better of them in this case. Do not recommend. We worked closely together on what I envisioned for the floral arrangements, colors, flower combination, they were accommodating and helpful. I have seen a lot of their work at my friends bday's/bridal showers/weddings etc and they do an outstanding job and come in highly recommended. What I like about them is that they ask you how much you want to spend on a centerpiece and depending on your budget they get as creative as possible. I've even been to a wedding where the entire reception room was draped in orchids and the huppa was one of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen. I come here once a year to purchase a bouquet of flowers on Mother's Day. I never order in advance lol. I usually walk in midday and hope they can accommodate me. The owner is really nice and does not mind the last minute order. I gave my price and I trusted that whoever created my bouquet would do an exceptional job. They always succeed and more. I told the lady to please make a colorful tropical piece. Let me tell you it was a piece of art!!! I waited quite a bit, but I did not mind at all. When she brought it to me my eyes lit up like opening presents on Christmas Day. It was Almost like the clouds were opening and Angels started singing. They were so exotic and uniquely beautiful. I knew my mom was going to love it!! The birds of paradise was a great touch to the masterpiece she created. I have been planning my wedding now for some time now and this week has been extra stressful because my florist Fortune Flowers and Gifts (Kings Hway,Brooklyn,NY) decided to cancel my order deeming it insignificant due to the fact that my wedding day falls on Rosh Hashana and they will have to loose money by preparing flowers for my wedding. When I came there 8 months ago I was promised that the job will be done, and to schedule a follow up 2-3 months prior to the wedding to discuss the details and so I did. When I called Lena the owner,this monday, she told me without hesitation " working on Rosh Hashana brings as much money as working on 10 weddings". She then proceeded to TEXT me, NOT even a CALL to cancel! She said " sorry my mistake, I didn't look at the calendar". Just like that! The flowers are usually amazing from this place. However their customer services is really lacking. Especially the gentlemen who picks up the phone , is super rude. And if you start speaking English with him , he transfers your call to someone else, and in the same time saying something very rude about you in Russian . He's probably thinking that if you start speaking English and with no accent , that you do not understand Russian. Overall they are okay, flowers once again usually beautiful as for the customer services not really .
