WOW! That was my experience. I'm speechless but will try to find the words to describe my visit on 9/26/2020. I made reservations for 3 people at 8:30 pm. We arrived around 8 and checked in. We were told we could go to the outside bar and order drinks while we waited. There was a DJ playing some great tunes. The vibes were good. Me and another customer were at the bar ordering when we struck up conversation on how great the music was. I ordered the What's Up Peach and it was Delicious. When our table was ready I received a text message. Now I can see why the patio was such a coveted reservation. It gave me the atmosphere of an outdoor Italian cafe. We were seated inside. Which also had a bar and you could see the kitchen. It was definitely hectic. I liked that the servers didn't have a uniform. You could only distinguish them by a white apron. Our server came over soon after we were seated. She was friendly and was about give us time to peruse the menu but we had already looked ahead of time and were ready to order. I ordered the Papalina (fettuccine with prosciutto, cream and leeks) and my friends ordered the Fritto Misto di Mare (Calamari, Trout, Shrimp). We shared 3 sides of vegetables (Spinach, Broccolini and Green Beans w/pesto). For dessert I ordered their in house made Gelato. Each scoop was $3 so I tried Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry. Forza Storico is such a cute restaurant with authentic Italian vibes. They have a big courtyard area out front for patrons to enjoy Al fresco dining when the weather permits. We ordered the Fagioli Verdi (green beans), Cavolfiore (cauliflower), Orata (sea bream), Tagliata di Manzo (sliced steak), Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, and Cacio e Pepe to eat. We also ordered some cocktails including, the Espresso Martini, Smoked Old Fashioned, Scotch & Honey, and Canoe Club. EVERY. SINGLE. DISH. WAS. AMAZING! The Orata was nicely seared and the fennel, olive oil, and lemon gave the fish good flavors while keeping it moist and fluffy. The Cacio e Pepe was to die for! Had such a fun ladies' night at this restaurant! Located in the same plaza as Jenni's and JCT kitchen, this authentic Italian restaurant focuses on classics done well. The group started with a few small plates to share in the antipasti platter which was very popular and something for everyone. Almost everyone followed by ordering the restaurant's most famous budget - cacio e pepe. At $17 for a small order it may be overpriced but it is sooooo good. The salads were also delicious. This is just a short review because I only had an appetizer and drink. I ordered the Funghi which were spectacular. Such great flavor and texture. For the drink I came solo dolo so I got their mocktail Negroni which was one of the best mocktails I've had. Way more thoughtful than some tonic water and juice. The drink was smoky, slightly bitter and sweet and was a pleasant surprise to a mocktail! Our experience at Forza Storico was great. Great food and great service. It was better than we expected, though I'm not sure exactly what we were expecting to be honest; I was thinking perhaps something more along the lines of Figo? This place has a higher-end vibe - it's in Westside Provisions District after all - but is still very much fun and casual. This Italian restaurant has a specific focus on Roman cuisine. They serve a lot of simple, "authentic" dishes that are elevated due to the high quality of the cooking skill/technique and ingredients. Some of the best pasta and octopus I've had is from here. We left the restaurant pleasantly surprised, happy (that it's in our neighborhood), and impressed. Forza opened in October 2019 and joins Aziza/Falafel Nation (July 2019) and Redbird (August 2019) as new restaurants to open at WSPD in the last 12 months. You can find Forza directly beneath Redbird, across from JCT Kitchen's lower level, in the old Little Bacch space. Forza is owned by the same folks behind Storico Fresco in Buckhead. Parking is free at WSPD, either in the surface lot outside Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams or in the deck which you can access from 14th and Howell Mill. The restaurant is on OpenTable so book your reservation for free on there and earn points for future dining-out discounts or an Amazon gift card. We visited on a Friday night and this place was happening. When we arrived around 6:20pm, the bar was already packed and the dining room was mostly full. There was plenty of patio seating though. We had a reservation. When I booked, there weren't many openings, so I suggest booking as far in advance as possible. This place is popular. The space looks terrific. It's got a rustic, "streets (or alleyways) of Rome" feel to it. The words "When in Rome" are painted above the entrance. My fiancee and I sat on the heated, wraparound patio. We liked the colorful murals, plant installations near the ceiling, and the nicely-designed seating arrangements and place settings; candle-lit, intimate, and romantic. Inside, it was loud. Open kitchen, large bar, and sizable dining room. During our visit, Forza had a straightforward menu with apps ($12-23 each) like a prosciutto mozzarella platter ($21) and fritto misto di mare ($14) featuring calamari, shrimp, and orata (gilt-head sea bream) ($14); salads (9-12 each); vegetables ($7-8 each); pastas (nine kinds, $17-22 each); and entrees ($19-30 each) such as porcini-rubbed bavette (flank) steak ($26) and grilled lamb chops and shoulder ($30). The beverage menu had an extensive selection of Italian cocktails, beer, and wine. As soon as our friendly server Daniel introduced himself, he had several recommendations for us of which we got two, the octopus and sea bream. Here's what we ended up getting: * Polpo ($23) - charred octopus, fried Yukon gold potato, celery, red onion, lemon vinaigrette * Carbonara ($18) - house-made tonnarelli, house-cured guanciale, egg yolk, pecorino * Cacio e Pepe ($17) - house-made tonnarelli, toasted sarawak pepper, pecorino * Orata ($23) - pan-seared whole sea bream, fennel, olive oil The first three items were phenomenal, among the best I've had. The orata was good too, but for me personally, more effort than it was worth (more on that below). What impressed us the most about the octopus was the texture of the octopus meat. I've eaten *lots* of octopus over the years and this was some of the most tender, relatively thick and "juicy," and appetizing octopus meat I've tasted. They got the consistency just right. The octopus was so good, it was a shame there wasn't more on the plate. The lemon vinaigrette, zesty and refreshing, was perfect for the octopus, and the satisfying Yukon potatoes were an appropriate accompaniment. The carbonara and cacio e pepe are among the most-ordered items at Forza and a couple of the dishes the restaurant is known for. They were the only two pastas on the menu that were listed as "time-sensitive" and to "please eat immediately." So that's what we did. I loved Forza's tonnarelli pasta (tonnarelli is like a thicker version of spaghetti). I'm a fan of thicker noodle pastas in general and their tonnarelli was perfectly al dente and toothy. It had a wonderful bite to it; truly a yummy, hearty, and gratifying pasta. Overall, the pasta dishes had fantastic, rich mouthfeels too. I particularly enjoyed the chewy, savory bits of guanciale (cured pork cheek). Excellent flavor. The orata was prepared and stuffed with lots of fresh lemon and aromatic rosemary. We were told the fish was boneless, but that was definitely not the case. Some small bones are OK and normal, but there were still plenty of bones to contend with. While the fish tasted good, picking out the flaky, white meat and tasty skin was a tedious task that required focus and patience. This is coming from someone who was raised eating various kinds of whole fish. TL;DR - Order the polpo, carbonara, and cacio e pepe. They're amazing. read more

If you are a pasta fan, this is the place for you! We were so excited to finally try this place, especially because it now has a HUGE outdoor patio in the Westside Provisions District. We were able to make a reservation a couple hours before we needed it on a Saturday night (there was only 2 of us, so that makes it a little easier). The service was good, nothing overly friendly, but efficient. We got the pasta special of the day, which included twisted noodles, speck, a lot of butter, and zucchini. It was very salty but tasted great. We also split the cappelletti spinaci and it was like eating warm comforting pillows of pasta. We started with the NOT blossoms - fried eggplant with a ton of cheese... I'm not a huge eggplant fan in general, but how could you go wrong? We were stuffed at the end of the meal and had a little bit to take home as leftovers. We didn't order cocktails, but everyone else's looked good! You know you have to snoop on what the other tables are ordering... it's research for next time, right?! Parking is in the Westside Provisions District, and you're sure to walk by the around-the-corner line at Jeni's ice cream. But we did not leave room for dessert. Can't wait to go back to Forza. First time ever leaving an italian place hungry. The portions are petite. I recommend you order plenty so that you dont leave hungry. Get the appetizers, and the antipasto, and the main. My carbonara was ok, but not mind blowing. I expected a specialized kitchen like this, which does Italian only, to put out the best carbonara possible. Sadly, it was just a meh, boring , carbonara. The other plates were missed my expectation. We had the stuffed veal.... it was not stuffed, and was thin slices of over cooked beef. And then there is that dumpling with mushrooms . We had a little trouble finding the "honeycomb hideout " as we called it since it hidden in back of parking lot to the right side of building up the ramp (Whew!) Hubby had a spicy pasta dish w/o meat while I had the best Italian style oxtail pasta...the Ravi was superb on both. We sat out near heat lamps and enjoyed the tunes while enjoying pasta & delectable bread service. My husband loved the Autumn Bomber cocktail! We had the bread service, anti pasta platter (charcuterie), octopus, cacio e Pepe (a bit salty for us) and linguine. Forza Storico (same owners as Storico Fresco) is a new Roman Italian restaurant located at Westside Provisions District, and it's a hidden gem. It literally feels like Italy! Me and some friends met here for dinner, and it was quite tricky to find the place. This restaurant is located right beneath RedBird, inside the same building as Jeni's Ice Creams. They have a large Wine selection, about 60 to be exact, and lots of Italian beers (about 35 different ones) which I've never seen anywhere else before. I'm not really a big fan of wine, so I ordered the Forza Martini, and it was amazing. Their menu is very simple, they have some appetizer, and salad options but the protagonist of the night is the pasta! Pastas are served on time sensitivity, so they suggest you "forget your manners, and eat immediately" I was told Roman culture is big on fried food, and since I was feeling very Italian I ordered the "Fritto Misto Di Mare" which comes with fried calamari, shrimp, and Orata seasoned with lemon salt. All the pasta options seemed amazing, but I wanted to go more traditional and ordered the Carbonara. Oh. My. God. It was literal heaven. The carbonara is a house made tortellini, served with house cured guanciale (pig cheeks), egg yolk, and pecorino. Some other stuff they have on the menu includes cacio e pepe pasta, squash blossoms, and octopus. I'll definitely give it a chance next time. Portions are not huge, but enough to fill you up, and the pasta was actually heavier than I thought. The place in general is beautiful, and they have a full bar as well. The wall paintings are so funny. I found a "Super Pope", and "Tic Tac Toe Pope" and those were amazing. Decided to do a quick family lunch with the husband and my 16 year old son. I made a reservation on open table but when I checked in at hostess desk she asked if I still wanted to sit outside? That was strange, although they had heaters everywhere but I'm always cold so that was a no for me! We started out with the fried calamari, shrimp and fish. It only came with a slice of lemon. We're native Chicagoans, so we're used cocktail sauce or warm marinara for dipping our calamari. They were gracious enough to bring us some warm marinara but I suspect there are no microwaves because it took about 10 minutes to get it. We also ordered the bread (my son said it was tasty), and the fried eggplant. The eggplant was so delicious and well flavored. We're not pork eaters so we had somewhat limited choices but still enough. My husband did the oxtail pasta, my son did the pan seared veal with some warm marinara on the side (it doesn't come with a side or pasta), and I had the Cornish hen because I'm trying to do better lol! My husband's oxtail pasta was superb! The oxtails were so tender and ragu sauce makes you want to slap somebody. I'm still thinking about it today. My son's veal was lightly breaded and tender. He really enjoyed it but as he got to the last couple of bites, he said the lemon sauce became a little overwhelming for his pallet. My Cornish hen was okay and tasted a little more burnt than I would like and spinach could have used a little salt. It was my least favorite dish. For drinks I did the cosmo, hubby had smokey old fashion and espresso martini. The martinis are very small for the big price, but hubby enjoyed the old fashion and the show that was put on to serve it. This was A-1 Italian food! I can't wait to return. read more

Even if it doesn't read like it'll be sweet, it'll be sweet. 3) pastas. We tried 4 different ones - mint ravioli, carbonara, the fettuccine with prosciutto and another red one. I don't eat veal and a lot of the meat options include veal. All the pastas were fine. Nothing was bad. But nothing was super memorable. Also, the portions aren't huge. My husband is a big guy and had trouble getting full. 4) service. Friendly. Attentive. No complaints here. 5) ambiance. We arrived about 7pm and it was dead. The style of the place is cool. By 8:30 when we were leaving, it was so loud it was hard to hear each other. 6) location. When you pass jenis, go DOWN the stairs and the restaurant is right in front of you. Incredible food, drinks, and atmosphere! The prices were very reasonable for the amazing quality of the dishes. There's LOTS of seating and a smaller sized staff, so it did take a while to place our initial orders. We were also seated in a small corner right beside another table of two, but we didn't mind. All cocktails were about $15 with lots of options to choose from. I ordered the frose to drink, which was a perfect sweetness and temperature for summer. We then chose the bread service to start which was only $4 and came with a decent portion baguette and delicious olive oil. For my main, I ordered the cacio e pepe. My husband and I love coming to Forza since we live over in West Midtown! It's nestled right inside Westside Provisions which is such a cool spot to explore before or after a meal. We typically make a reservation when we dine here because the area in general will get very busy, but we went tonight without a reservation no problem! Also heads up, Tuesday is 1/2 off wine bottles!! I almost always go for the carbonara and this time my husband had the bolognese. Both dishes were delicious and the handmade pasta is simply unbeatable! They have both indoor and outdoor patio seating which is nice, but you may want a light sweater if you're eating inside, because it can get a bit chilly! It's also a nice spot if you're looking for a place to take your time with your meal. I had a date night at Forza Storico on Saturday and it was an amazing experience. My guest made reservations since it was Valentine's weekend. We sat outside which was not bad at all since they have plenty of heaters. Since it was our first time there our waiter gave us recommendations on food and drinks. For drinks I ordered the margarita which was so fresh and good. She ordered the Queen's Park which seems to be a very popular drink and she said it was great. For an appetizer we ordered calamari which had shrimp and benzino fish in it. That was delicious! For my entree I ordered the shrimp linguini which was really good. Great spot! It was my first time there tonight, and I was impressed with the atmosphere, service, and food. The whole Westside Provisions area is so nice. I've been to a lot of Italian places, a lot of which that have disappointed, but this one did not. Although it lacks in portion size (which is usually a big deal to me), it makes up for it in quality and flavor. Pasta made in house and you can tell. Each dish is very unique too. The name of the dish escapes me, but I had the ricotta stuffed pasta with sautéed spinach and brown butter sauce with toasted almonds. Unique and delicious! Hate to be that guy but was so unimpressed & sad about it! We came here for my birthday (regrettably) to try something new... 1. The seating is wild. Inside and outside they sit people directly on top of each other. They put tiny little wooden side tables in between you and the guests next to you to create the illusion of "space" but, you're gonna have dinner with a lot of strangers you don't want to and no private conversation 2. They don't allow modifications or additions to a dish. We looked online before hand and couldn't really understand the menu but figured we can add chicken to some yummy sauce and pasta and have a great meal. No, you aren't allowed to add a protein and on top of that they don't really have any protein, other than bacon and prosciutto on some dishes. (I find this wild) 3. We spent $120 for 2 of us to eat a very small serving of pasta and sauce with a drink. No meat. We left and went to a tapas restaurant after to get protein because we were still hungry... 4. The food we did eat was very average, so due to all the other points, we were very disappointed 5. The menu is impossible to understand I was so frustrated not knowing what my options even were Bonus point: the staff was wonderful. read more

I have searched all through Atlanta for authentic Carbonara and Forza delivers with a beautiful atmosphere, attentive servers and friendly bar staff. Portion sizes are hearty. I go often and enjoy the Carbonara, the Suppli, and my friends always enjoy their Linguine Al Pesto E Gamberi. 10/10 would recommend. We have been loyal customers of Forza since it opened, and the tagliatelle bolognese has always been our go-to dish. Unfortunately, our experience last night has left me very disappointed. We started with the toasted prosciutto flatbread, which was excellent, but things went downhill when we ordered our favorite, the bolognese. To our surprise, the dish tasted completely different - cheap, overly seasoned, and far too tomato-heavy. When we asked the waitress about it, she mentioned that the restaurant owners changed the recipe to make it dairy-free. We were shocked! Why would they change a dish that has been a staple for so long? I ended up sending the dish back because it was not very good. I can't understand the reasoning behind tampering with a classic that so many regulars love. Please consider offering both the original version and the dairy-free version. It's disappointing. Forza is excellent is every other way- the staff/ service, the ambiance, the drinks, and all the other dishes. read more

This experience was bad. I reserved a table for 6 at 7:00. Got a text at 6:55 saying our table was ready. Had some trouble parking and arrived at the host stand at 7:04. Was told my table would be ready in 10 minutes. Was seated at a 4-top with 2 chairs placed at either end. They had obviously given our table away and had to scramble to get something put together. We didn't have enough room to have our dinner plates on the table... The 6-top next to us had an extra table tacked on to the end of theirs with nothing on it. We asked the waitress if it was possible to add that extra table to our own to give us enough room to eat...she said it was impossible. Logistically, it was not. We were angry, but nothing we could do. Drinks were slow, she couldn't tell us what kind of cheese was in the special. She was a bad waitress. Full disclosure...the food was excellent. I try to be fair in these reviews, and it's the best Italian I've had in years. Every appetizer and entree (that would fit on our postage stamp of a table) was top notch. Hence the second star. The cherry on top was that she knew she was a bad waitress...she knew she and their hosts ruined our dinner experience...so she added automatic gratuity to our bill even though the policy says they add gratuity for parties of 7 or more. Such a cowardly and self-serving move. Knowing she was awful and choosing her own 20% tip to make sure she got something. We would have tipped her the full amount anyways because we know how her job works. And we didn't call for the manager because we were with people. But I would (and should) have. read more

First of all, the service here (from my stop in) was extraordinary- everyone i spoke with and witnessed treated us like true guests. It's less than common for everyone to go above and beyond with a positive attitude, and i saw everyone here have that attitude. The cocktail I had (mezcal based) was delicious. The food was great. I think they had a focaccia bread service that arrived in the form of 2 dressed dinner rolls but otherwise the food was delicious. I always walk by this place and it looks so cute! I'm so glad I finally got to try it! First of all the ambience of the place is great! We sat inside but the outdoor space is adorable with lots of string lights. Inside is rustic and cozy! First of all, wanted to point out that this place has great vegetarian options. Our group sometimes struggles to find a nice place that has both good vegetarian and good meat options. We got the bread service twice, which was worth it for the price! It was really great bread. Crispy crust and soft middle! Wish they gave more oil or maybe seasoned the oil a bit more. They were out of squash blossoms which was disappointing. Definitely want to try it sometime. My friend got the Cappelletti Spinaci, and the rest of us got the arrabiata, which was good, but Definitely not spicey. It had lots of pecorino and basil on top, which added to the freshness. The pasta had a chew too it which, made it feel like real authentic homemade Italian pasta. Note that perhaps not everyone who is used to more "Americanized" pasta dishes would enjoy. But our group certainly did! Definitely recommend getting reservations ahead of time as its always busy. Staff was super friendly and food came out super fast! read more
